HELLO PURPLE TEAM!!!!!
I am starting this tonight because I am not sure when I will be able to get on tomorrow!!! I hope everyone read the announcement that is posted on the last thread...if not please do so...it has lots of info on it!!!
PlEASE EVERYONE~~~~PM ME YOUR STARTING WEIGHT...CURRENT WEIGHT...AND PERCENTAGE LOST...HERE'S HOW TO FIGURE YOUR PERCENTAGE(THANKS AlaskaMOM<from the blue team>hope you don't mind I borrowed your directions!!)
figuring percentage isn't too hard it's just subtracting starting weight-current weight=total loss
then dividing total loss / starting weight =% lost.
IF anyone needs help with that just PM me!! :thumbsup2

I am back up 2. I can't stand bouncing around like I have.
I hope everyone has a great week.
Hopefully someone from the purple team will win the prize.
I like the 5 a day challenge. I usually do this so for my personal challenge I am going to try for at least 6 a day if not more. It is just 7:15AM and I have already had 1 1/2 so far. This is a great challenge for many people.

Well I'll officially weigh in tomorrow but I'm excited. I've stuck to my guns this week and really exercised to help speed things along. I have ate most of my activity points, which is a shame....but better than eating up my flex/extra points. I am really really hoping to pass that 10 pound mark this week!
I'm doing good on the fruit/vege challenge as well (that is what we're doing right LOL). I've done pretty good on it since I started WW though, just because when I get hungry that is what I run to instead of what I used to snack on (cookies, icecream, chips....etc). Now it's carrots or cucumbers, grapes and apples. Last week I thought I'd bought oranges but I bought tangerines instead...YUCK! So my hubby is enjoying those :)
Good morning Purple team!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm afraid I don't have a loss to report this week. :guilty: I did stay the same however. I'm trying to figure out exactly what happened this week. I exercised 5 times and kept my calories under control. The problem was my food choices I think. I had cheesies on Saturday as my snack (13 in total which was 160 calories). The salt was probably pretty high in it and some of the soup I've been eating too. I'm REALLY disappointed in myself, but dh is trying to give me some perspective. I'm determined to do better next week.......despite all the social events coming up. Oy!

Good Morning purple team...
I am happy to report that I am on the mend. The pain is gone and I am back up and functioning again YEAH!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc
I did manage to lose about 4 pounds in the last week due mostly to the fact that I didn't eat much more than a few pieces of toast and a few sips of soup per day. I am starting to work small amounts of food back into my life and hope to get back to the gym this weekend. Hopefully, I didn't lose too much of my strength, but you never know.
As soon as my system can handle fruits and veggies again, I plan on eating a bunch because I miss them... My goal for the next week is to really maintain the loss that I had from being sick, but I am not sure how my body is going to respond to all of those callories again...

Well as expected I had a gain - but fortunately it was only a pound. I'm feeling more motivated and I think I've gained some perspective so we'll see what next week shows. Great job to all those who have lost!!

I am reporting a 1.8 pound loss this week! :cool1: And I earned a new clippie...my 40 POUND one!!!! :banana:
I remember when I didn't care... I ate when I was hungry and didn't care if it was good for me or not. Now I make better choices...not all of the time... but a little bit at a time is better then where I was 40 pounds ago! Sometimes this is a difficult journey to travel... but we can do this and we are worth it! Keep on keepin' on everybody... and we will see the results we want to see!

How's everyone doing? Making good decisions for meals today? I had cucumbers, mushrooms and salad for my veges today. I always have grapes and an apple before bed so that's my 5 :)
Really really hoping for a bigger loss tomorrow. I want to reach that 15% before Christmas. Anyone else trying to reach a goal by Christmas?

I am up to 4 fruits and veg today so far.
Congrats to all the losers this week and that includes all that stayed the same. To those who gained (like I did) let's not get discouraged. Start over and work to a better week.

How does the challenge work? Do we pm the captain everyday or just post it here? And are we posting what we ate or just that we got our 5 in? :confused3 I saw another team doing one post per person to log for the week and they will edit it daily... but then we would have to wade back through the posts to find it... am I making any sense? lol... I fell into the candy bag :sad2: (just a couple pieces though) but I think the sugar is starting to set in... :hyper:
Anyway... I ate my 5 for the day, it will probably be more... we always have a veggie with dinner.

I am at 6 fruits and vegs today. I had a pear, an apple, an orange, some snow peas and some dried cranberries(together I counted those as 1 serving), spaghetti squash(2 servings) and tomato sauce.
Hope everyone else is enjoying the fruits and veggies.

My percentage lost so far is 2.31
I actually did eat all my veggies/fruit for the day. Between veggie soup for lunch, fruit snacks, veggie burger w/ salad for dinner, I did quite well. Now, if only that scale would start to move!!!! :teeth:

Well I forgot all about the 5 fruits and veggies until after dinner last night and since I'd only had one serving to that point did not make it to 5. HOWEVER.....I am on board today now and I will get my 5 in.
I'm with disneyfanz04 - WHERE IS EVERYONE!! It's been days since we've heard from several team members that were always very active on the boards. What gives guys? I know we're all busy but we're crumbling as a team. LETS GO PURPLE!!
Well we're making a quick run to Silver Dollar City this weekend for their holiday festivities so it'll be a tough weekend for me food-wise. But myplan is just to make wise choices while still splurging a little. I'm so excited about it though - I am SO a planner when it comes to vacations (even mini weekend ones) and yesterday I called DH and asked him if he wanted to go to Branson this weekend and he said yes. So I was crazy making arrangements yesterday. I got a hotel through priceline, made reservations for lunch with Santa and I think we're pretty much set. It'll be fun.

If not, just use my current percentage :) I did as you mentioned in the first post (took total loss and divided it by the starting weight) and that didn't come out right. I've lost about 6-7% of my starting weight though (from 155, loss of 9.2 pounds). Really really hoping tonight that I'll surpass that 10 pound mark though.....crossing my fingers, which would put me closer to the 7-8% mark :)
Oh and I've had my 5 for today already....LOL Only left myself 8 points for supper, but I'm having a sub after WI so should be plenty :)

your starting weight 154
minus -
your current weight 145.8
equals ----------
9.2
divided by orig. weight 154
equals -----------
5.97%

Okay, still really confused LOL If I take my total loss of 9.2 pounds and divide it by my starting weight of 155 (not 154...LOL every pound counts) my calculator says .0593...... so maybe the decimal is messing me up?
Anyhow, fixing to go to WI and then stop by Subway on the way home so I'll post right when I walk in the door :) Thanks for allowing me that extra WI on the total.....if nothing else it makes me feel more accomplished :)

I am leaving to go to a Sweet Sixteen party for the daughter of a friend so I thought I would post now..
I got in my 5 today. Peaches, berries (black and blue), apple, grapes and a salad. I may get more at the party but Idoubt it. We are going to a place called Harold's. It is a NY style deli in Jersey. THe sandwiches are so big that they have a bar with extra bread so you can make extra sandwiches from the first sandwich. Someone told me that the cannoli's are about 10 inches long and 3 inches wide.
I have to go and eat a quick yogurt so I am not so hungry when I get there. I also have to remember WATER, WATER and more WATER to take the edge off.

Well, back from WI and I GAINED! I've stuck to my points all week, other than one day where I went over by 2 points. And I've added exercise 4 out of 5 days!!!!! The lady at the scales said that it was the exercise and it'll even out over the next week or two.....WEEK OR TWO! By then I'll be back at what I started at!
My hubby says to lay off the exercise if it was working before I added that....I'm very very tempted to do that as it's so disheartening to gain after working so hard to lose. I jinxed myself by saying that I wanted to reach that 10 pound mark this week, I'm feeling really low right now and feel like eating everything I can get my hands on :(
I had my sub sandwich and splurged on a cookie from home (never ever eat the cookies at Subway, they are about 5 points each LOL). Think I'm going to go watch a movie now so I won't be tempted to sit here and eat more.
Sorry for the gain Purple team, I really thought I'd be the last one to gain this week with all the extra work I'd put in to it.

OK, so I propose a rededication...we need each other to make it through the holidays that are coming up...today marks the first day of the second half of our challenge, and it seems like we have fizzled to about half our teamates...I know that things are going to be busy during the upcoming holidays, but let's do this!!!! Let's post whether we are having a good day or a bad day...or if we could just use some encouragement...I think that is alot of the reason that we are fizzling out because people aren't poosting, so other peopple figure why should they, and then all of a sudden there are only a few people posting....PLEASE, let's get back to where we were when we first started the challenge!!!!!!
With that being said...TheRatPack, I think that you should NOT stop exercising...I know how frustrating it is, because the same thing happened to me, I was exercising, and eating right, and I would only lose .4 or nothing at all, but it WILL balance itself out...keep up with the exercise, what exactly are you doing??? Weight training, cardio???? You can do it!!!!
donac Have fun at your party, and just set a goal for yourself and focus on that goal while you are there...you can do it!!!!

Sadly I don't think I made the veggie/fruit goal yesterday. I ate at a friend's house so I was at the mercy of their food choices. I did probably have 4 servings however. Today will be better, if only b/c I'm going to a vegetarian restaurant for lunch!
WDWorBUST - Tell me about Silver dollar City!! I'm going for the first time in a few weeks. I'm going on a bus tour and will see a variety of shows in Branson as well as spend one day in Silver Dollar City. Anything we should be sure to catch? Hope you have fun this weekend!

Wed. I had 8 servings and Thurs. I had 6 servings.
Thanks for the peptalk disneyfanz04...I am rededicating myself starting today...right now! I had a rough night last night. I was home by myself and ate 2 huge bowls of Rocky Road ice cream :sad2: ... I am so disappointed in myself! I really wanted to get my 10 pound ribbon at WW this weekend but I doubt that is going to happen... why do I self sabotage like this? Whenever I am doing really well I always do this... :drinking1 Here's to a better week... of course that's a big glass of water, lol.
TheRatPack... I agree with continuing to exercise! You are gaining muscle and that weighs more then fat. It will all balance out and you will start seeing the scale going in the right direction in no time! :thumbsup2

I'm glad that everyone is so encouraging. I was very discouraged yesterday. I wentr shopping for a new blouse to wear to the party. I thought I would be down to a medium becasue I am in a medium in some tshirts but no. I still had to take a large. Maybe it was the stores that I was in but I didn't like a lot of things. Then when I went to this party my girfriend has lost 30 pounds and on her it really showed. She was wearing skinny jeans (not the I could have ever fit into something like that because even when I was at my lightest my legs and hips were a larger size than my top half) and even though I know I have lost 25 pounds in the last two years it has not been as dramatic as she did in the last 6 months.
I am also discouraged because it is getting close to the end of the year and I haven't reached to goal that I set for my self at the beginning of the year.
Before I came to this thread I was ready to quit. Thanks for everyone ffeeling the same way and I know I am not alone.
Let's all get started for a long holiday and work together to get to the new year lighter than we are now.

We can do this. We can do this together. I did make my 5 a day yesterday but it's not natural yet by any means (YIKES). We just have to keep posting and supporting each other.
CJK - I have not been to Silver Dollar City since I was knee-high to a grasshopper myself but I have a friend that goes all the time. He says Christmas time is the best and the way he talks about it is the same as I talk about Disney at Christmas - in fact we are trying to transition Silver Dollar City to our "Disney" for Christmas since it's not always practical for us to go to Florida. This is the first year we're missing since 2001 (except 2003 when DD was born). Silver Dollar City is only 3 hours away from us and something we can do in a weekend easily - it's even feasible to go up and come back in the same day if we wanted to try it. Silver Dollar City is a lot like Disney in the fact that it's a "theme" park not an amusement park. They have a light parade and and Sing-Along Christmas train and several shows and a Christmas tree lighting. We're taking DD to lunch with Santa too. I will tell you more after we get back and I've experienced it all. We will most likely go another weekend in December without DD too so I'm looking forward to seeing if it can be as "magical" for us as it has been for my friend and his family.

As far as my exercise goes, I am doing the Firm and Cathe. I manage to do 60 minutes each time, 4-5 times a week. I think it's almost time for TOM too....so maybe a combination of each made me gain :(

I ate my 5 fruits and vegs today, a v-8, veggie omelet (2 servings of veg in it), a banana, and 2 servings of salad for dinner with my slice of pizza

I have had a bad weekend :sad2: !!! I'll admit it, it was so bad yesterday, I skipped weigh-in today cause I was afraid of a gain...I know that is bad, but...
I promise I will get my act back together tomorrow :thumbsup2 !!! Even through it all, I did still get my 5 a day in.

I had cucumbers and broccoli for snack today, a salad for lunch with mushrooms, tomato and cucumbers. Then for supper I had a veggie pizza I made with zuccini, tomato, mushroom and onions. Oh and I had some cabbage for lunch, a hawaiian salad and some beans. Ohhhhh and I had some coconut too LOL
I'm having roughly a cup of these when I eat them, although the coconut may have been more like 1/2 a cup. The pizza was probably a cup or a bit over with all the combined veggies. And my salads are always about 1-2 cups of the greens and then I pile on the other veggies.
I'm really trying to fill in my 'hunger' with more of these great healthy foods since my gain last week.

Hi everyone! Do you remember me? I miss you all and I'm very mad at myself! I hope you'll let me back...I really need you! Since I stopped posting, journaling, weighing and measuring and planning my food I gained 1.4 lbs back. Not the way I want to see the scale move. I wish I saw the fruit/veggie challenge as soon as it started. Thats an easy one for me! Sorry I let you guys down. I'm very upset with myself!

I got my 5 for today. A banana, dates, sweet potato, cranberries (homemade cranberry relish) and a pear.
Tinkamom I have been playing with the same 5 pounds since I started this challenge. Some weeks I have been down 2 and some been up two. 1.4 isn't bad. It is easy to get down on yourself. Good luck on your next step that you have to make for yourself.

Well the good news is that I met the veggie/fruit challenge on both Saturday and Sunday. We ate at a friend's house (who is vegetarian), so that certainly helped increase the veggie intake! ;) The bad news is that the Christmas social events have started this season. That means, the food temptation has begun (insert dramatic music)!!!! :crazy: I tried to watch my portions, so hopefully the scale will be kind on Wednesday!!!

Got my 5 today, we had an early thanksgiving at my MIL's today so I had too many carbs, but potatoes count right LOL And we had a fruit salad, broccoli, a salad, and slaw(cabbage and carrots). And I had some cranberry salad too, but not sure if that counts since it probably only had 1/2 cup of whole/crushed cranberries in the cup that I put on my plate.
Anyhow, can't wait to see if TOM and changes in Exercise are what caused me to gain this past week. Really hoping that this week I show a loss again and I'm back on track :)

Hey Guys!! I'm home and we had a GREAT time this weekend - it was so Christmasy. I stayed on myself about not comparing it to Disney and just really appreciating it for what it was. We were there from noon until about 8:00pm and Sammi fell asleep at 7pm waiting on the train. So we went ahead and did that and headed out afterwards. It was really funny though - this morning when she woke up she told me we forgot to do the train. I had to explain to her that she had done the train - only she slept through it :rotfl: That is really unusual for her. She fell asleep and stayed asleep through boarding the train - unboarding the train - putting her in her stroller for the walk out - putting her in the carseat - taking her out of the carseat at the hotel - and finally woke up for about 2 minutes while I was trying to get her turtleneck off. So she had a fun day to say the least. I'm disappointed because we missed the shows I wanted to see - but that little girl is a ride junkie like her mom and I don't think she really would have enjoyed them and ended up not letting me enjoy them. We were going to try and go back before the season was over but we couldn't find a time so we'll just look forward to next year and going one time with her and one time without her. It was an awful weekend for me eating though - HOWEVER.....I feel like I did better than I would have in the past. I'm slowly training myself NOT to eat every bite of food on my plate. I did get my fruits/veggies in though.....pumpkin counts even if it is in pumpkin pie - right?? And thank goodness for potatoes. I NEED this challenge. I look at how I typically eat and there aren't many fruits and veggies. That is an area that I need so much improvement in. So Wednesday I didn't make it but Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I did. I need to start eating more "colors" though. Anyway hope everyone had a GREAT weekend - back to the daily grind tomorrow.

I got my 5 in for thurs and fri.... but I had a horrible weekend food wise. So I didn't get in 5 on sat or sun! Sorry guys... I am back on track now and I am tracking my points this week. I was beginning to get too relaxed with being on core. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
I had a thought for a challenge...not sure if it's a good one or not but I really need to work on this... taking a multi-vitamin daily!
I won't be offended if this isn't challenge worthy, lol!

Well, I JUST met the veggie challenge today.....IF potatoes count as a veggie! :teeth: I'm really trying to exercise A LOT this week because food this coming weekend is going to be :scared1: ! I'm going away for the weekend and will be with friends (all of Saturday is revolving around food) and then Sunday is a family birthday celebration for 4 people! My only hope is portion control since the healthy options will be few and far between.
WDWorBust: Glad to hear you had a great time at Silver Dollar City! Any must-see shows or rides I should catch? Hope you can go back next year. I must follow your advice and not compare it to WDW!

I've gotten my 5 in since it started, but then again I really really needed to stick to veggies and fruits this week since last week I showed a gain.
I have went over on points again this week everyday. I went over usually by 1-4 but yesterday was my In-Laws Thanksgiving so that day was really bad and I probably used up all my weekly flex points LOL
I'm not looking forward to WI on Thursday this week. After I had that gain last week I'm scared to go back :(

Hi everyone! I'm working on getting back on track and could use all the encouragement I could find!
I did good with the fruit/veggies Sunday and Monday. I had a green salad with peppers, carrots and red onions, celery with peanutbutter as a snack, turnips and green beans with dinner, with an apple for dessert on Monday. Sunday I had the same salad, leftover turnips and peas with dinner and I had cauliflower for a snack! I was really hungry about an hour before dinner so I threw some in the microwave and it held me over until dinner!
Today I'm going to go buy a veggie and a fruit I never tried before. I'm going to try a new one every week!

Good evening. Just a quicl post before I drop ds at jazz band.
After I eat my apple tonight I will be getting my 5 in for today. Some craisins, orange, banana, celery and the apple I will ear when I get home.
Hope everyone else is getting in their fruits and veggies.
Does anyone else get nervous on Tuesday nights for their weigh-in the next day? :confused3 It's weird. Usually I don't even think about it, but since I didn't lose last week, I'm really thinking about it this week. I did make my veggie/fruit intake again today thanks to veggie soup and casserole full of veggies. I found myself feeling quite hungry today though so its been quite a struggle not to eat tonight. But, with all the food I'm having this weekend plus the food on our trip coming up, I can't afford to cheat right now!! Hope everyone has a good weigh-in tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Hi Purple Team... Yes.. I am still alive... I am reporting in to say that I am sooooooooo sorry for my disappearance. My life became a huge whirlwind.. and I couldn't control it. I barely had time to sleep... I kept thinking I would check in tomorrow.. but then ... tomorrow became tomorrow... and then one day turned into two.. then a week.. then two... It feels like forever since I have had a minute to just sit and "Be". well... I am doing just that tonight... and I have made a terrible discovery... yes.. I knew it was happening ... but I just .. Gave Up. Or Gave In. I stopped caring what I ate... and just ate whatever and whenever... In a period of 2 weeks I am sure I packed on the 10 lbs I had taken off.. I am too afraid to get on the scale. I didn't want to come back here to a place where I felt guilty for letting you all down...
But, I am here...
I need to get my act together. I need to stop sabatoging myself. When my life gets busy.. I need to know how to prepare for it.. and eat properly. I Don't want to let myself down anymore. None of my clothes fit properly anymore.. and I gave away all of my bigger clothes.... that's a good thing btw... cause it really makes you realize that you have absolutely NOTHING to wear if you don't start getting a grip. well... I don't know where to begin... I don't know if my return will be a hinderance to the team... if it is.. I understand.. and I will bow out...sadly... but I will.......
In reading the thread to catch up... I see that there have been some great losses! Congrats to those of you who have kept on keepin on! How do you do it?????

Well I'm thrilled to report a 4lb loss this week!!! :cheer2: Well, technically I probably lost 2 last week and 2 this week, but due to the heavy salt intake last week, the scale didn't show that loss. But at any rate, I'll take this loss. I'm so close to being in my healthy BMI zone, that I can practically taste it! Good luck everyone!!! I feel like I should be thanking YOU because being accountable to a team is really helping. :cheer2: :banana:

I am sorry to say that I am reporting a 2 lb gain this week :guilty: . I know that TOM is here in full force but I still feel like I am letting you guys down. The good news is that I am back on track! :banana: I am really sore from running and aerobics but it's a good sore. My food choices have been great too! So hopefully when Tom is all out of my system I will have a decent loss to contribute to our team. I have my 10 year high school reunion coming up next weekend so that has been great motivation for me to stay on track. I don't want to be the one who's gained the most weight in the past 10 years!

DON'T GIVE UP!
You probably didn't gain that much back....Just start again! Remember that big first week loss? Well if you start over then you could have another 1st week big loss! Thats what I'm hoping for since I kinda gave up last week too. Maybe we just needed a little break. Please....DO NOT GIVE UP! You can do it! :cheer2:

Made my 5 again today, finishing up with green beans tonight :) Next week I'm doing more fruit I think then veggies. I'm tired of broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes (yes I know they are a fruit LOL), greens....etc. I'm ready for an orange and some muscadines LOL
