Game: The Image Below Me Is...

How about a little game of “The Image Below Me…”? This is based on an idea I have seen on other photography forums which is always a lot of fun. I thought I would try it here with a Disney twist. This is not a challenge just something fun to do.

I post an image and say "The image below me is a picture of... [SOMETHING DISNEY]. The first person who responds with a post of the requested image gets to ask for the next SOMETHING DISNEY- This could be an attraction, show, event, resort, character, or whatever- Use your imagination.

For example let's say I posted this image in response to a person above me who said, "The image below me is a picture of The Tower of Terror"… Now I get to create the next "The image below me" request. I'll start the thread with an easy one…

Whoever responds to that with an appropriate picture gets to create the next "image below me" statement. Kind of like a chain letter of photos! Let’s see how long it will last...

EDIT - For double-posts - if you post the requested pic but then see someone beat you to it just leave your pic as-is but go back and edit your request to defer to the previous post. In the spirit of the game the first post with the requested subject picks the next shot. :thumbsup2

EDIT2 - Try not to be TOO specific okay? The game is a lot more fun when it keeps rolling- you get the idea. :rolleyes1

EDIT3 - If the game stalls for 12 Hours the default request goes to Mickey Mouse or his likeness (Pal Mickey, Hidden Mickey, Etc.) The 12-Hour pending request is still fine as well if anyone has it. Posters can specify their own Alternate Image after a set time if they want to, particularly if requesting something they know will be hard to get. The 12 Hour rule begins at the first post.

EDIT4 - In the sprirt of the game please post only your own photographs, not links to other sites, etc.

EDIT5 - You may not enter photos that were taken by breaking park rules.

He posted a picture that included a perspective of the castle that people normally don't see. The flower was in focus and the castle was the out of focus background.

The then requested the next picture to be less than 1 month old. Kind of an odd request, but a request none the less. So if anyone was in Disney over the last 4 weeks go ahead and post your picture and request another.

I think the only "problem" we seem to be having is that there are times when more than 1 person posts a picture and makes a request. Then the next person might not be responding to the correct post. So I vote that it should be the first new post that gets the continuance.

It might be good idea that after you post to go back to the thread and see if anyone else posted as well. If there was and you were second, then go ahead and edit your post to remove your request for the next picture. I think leaving the picture you posted is ok, just remove the request for the next image below me.

I can see Chill's, and I know this sounds weird but there's someone who posts on the DPOTD thread that I can never see their picture until I "quote" them and then their picture address shows up (where you type your post in). I then copy and paste the image address into another browser window and it goes to the image. When I go back to the original post, it magically appears :confused3 I can't figure it out and their the only one where it happens to me. It doesn't seem to happen to anyone else.

So, yeah, I know what you mean.

Jann1033... It appears you've scanned the complete scanner page by accident (vs. just the photo). You just need to crop out all of the white space. :thumbsup2

H18... Not sure why you can't see the pics. I'm using PhotoBucket. I checked a few machines here (IE6, IE7, Windows XP, Win2k3, Vista, etc.) and they all worked for me. Anyone else having problems seeing my pics?

:wave: I can't see them either. I thought it was just me! I'm using IE7 (and was using IE6 until yesterday), and I've never seen them, just a small blank space. I wasn't even sure if they were actually posted!

I can see Chill's, and I know this sounds weird but there's someone who posts on the DPOTD thread that I can never see their picture until I "quote" them and then their picture address shows up (where you type your post in). I then copy and paste the image address into another browser window and it goes to the image. When I go back to the original post, it magically appears :confused3

Strange... I can't explain why the pics don't show up for everyone. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache? (just a thought, don't know if it'll work)

Thanks so much!!! I was unaware of this site. It looks like a subsciption download. I assume you have to pay for this privelege? Or is there a free download for just viewing the exif info? I was wondering about the photo, because I didn't think flash was allowed on the rides????

I wasn't aware of these sites, but I did know that flash photography is frowned upon in WDW, which is why I am searching the best setting. THANKS to you for letting me know this wasn't taken without flash. Some people will never obey rules :confused3

To get a decent photo in there, you'll have to hope the ride stops at some point and/or use a large aperture, and a monopod. I am going to DL on Thanksgiving. I'll try to get something but I am only taking my P&S so am not sure if it will work out. If I do, I'll post it.

Also if you have Opera browser (the best browser there is IMO) all you have to do is right click on the picture and click properties and all the EXIF data comes up...

Opera does SO many things that IE can't do. I'm hoping the new version of IE is much improved... because right now Microsoft is WAY behind Firefox and Opera...

I've never tried to take pics on this ride... how is it compared to IASW? I've had a LITTLE luck on IASW but most the time the images are blurry or need cleaned up with Noise Ninja...

I've got a ton of Romanian castle photos (including of that one, but I'm not sure that the painted monasteries count as castles?) but I assumed that the request was for a Disney castle. :teeth:

Romania does have some beautiful buildings and landscapes though (once you're out of the cities!)

As for exif data, if you use Firefox, grab the FxIF add-on, it's tiny and lets you see the exif data by right-clicking any photo and going into Properties. (And if you don't use Firefox, you should be. ;) )
