Just finished the Halloween 2006 4-nighter on the Wonder, and booked another one for next Halloween, Oct. 28, through Nov. 1, 2007. This time, it's just the wife and I. :teeth: Anyone else booked this one yet? I searched all 5 pages of the threads and didn't find one....

We might be booking this. We are currently booked on the 7 night Magic but I have been to those ports before and none to excited about going back but this is the only week I have avail to travel. So I am considering changing to the 4 night wonder with a 3 or 4 night WDW stay.
It will just be me and DD 15
Will probably know by mid week

Hey JNS, just realized you are from Ireland, my DH's family is from there was well. That must be a really long flight, how long will it take?
Kim
it is about 9 hours direct but we are planning on a stop over in New York for a few days
Not to sure yet will it be before are after Florida
Have you decided yet which cruise you are planning
Hockeychic

Yikes, I hate to fly I could never fly that long. My sister lives in England and I have never gone to visit....can't they build a bridge.... :rotfl:
Yes we decided on the 4 night wonder with a stay at WDW first. DD gets that week off school, DH and DS might come but that is a longshot because of DS schooling so this is a girls trip. But I know DD will dump me the minute she meets some new friends and I will be sitting with my Pina Colada in a lounge chair....
Do you have early or late dining?? We have early.
Kim
we have late dinning, but I'm sure I could join you in a lounge chair with a Pina Colada
Where in WDW are you staying , we have become DVC members this year so looking forward to giong home for the first time
have not any flights booked yet but we are quite fexible but would love to do the cruise first and then WDW after , but we will have to see what deals come out on flights , we are quite limited coming from Ireland
Have you told your DD yet
Hockeychic

Yes DD is aware we are going, we discussed all our options and this is what we have decided. We decided to do Disney first so we could go to the Halloween party, we did it 2 years ago and really liked it.
We haven't booked the room yet but I think we are aiming for All Star Music we have stayed in all the other values but Music so we might give it a go.
Which resort are you staying at???
Kim

It is official. I have booked. Can't wait. We are going to disney for a few days prior to the cruise. What to be for halloween??? I guess I have about 300 sleeps to think about it.... :rotfl:
Kim
Congratulations on booking , we done the MNSSHP last year too and it is great fun so will be planning on doing it again this time
any plans on what you will do on board yet
Hockeychic
12-20-2006, 06:04 PM
Nope, probably not too much, I think we want to parasail at Castaway Cay, it was cancelled last time we where there due to high winds so it is definatley on my list to do this time.
In Nassau, we probably won't do much DD wants to go to the Bob Marley store but it is a ways from the port and I am not comfortable taking the bus without DH being there with us. Not sure what the area was like but the doors to the store where locked and we had to be buzzed in.
Have you cruised DCL before???
Kim
Hockeychic

Yikes dropped to page 2.
Hope you are all having a great day.
Kim
We were on our first cruise this Oct
and we got the cruising bug
we just done the 3 day wonder last time ,
Had a ball
DS 8 still has not stopped talking about it
He even had me in the travel agents today when we were out visiting Santa
He is more into cruising then Christmas
He is one of the main reasons we are going back
Did you go to the Bob Marley store , DS 15 is big into his music too
Hockeychic
12-21-2006, 03:25 PM
Oh that is great, my DS isn't into cruising but DD likes it as long as she has friends to hang with. I am hoping DS and DH can come with us but with DS schooling it is all up in the air until the summer but DD and I are booked.
We have done a few cruises, I think this is our 4th. We have done 2 Carnival cruises and although they where nice, nothing compares to DCL.
What night are you thinking of doing the Halloween party?? Us it will be either the Thurs or Fri before. I am hoping for the Thurs, might be a little less crowded it will just depend on when our flight is.

We where on Magic for halloween in 2005 and they really didn't do much. They did trick or treating for the kids but we didn't participate cause of theages of our kids at the time they weren't interested.
I believe we are doing the MNSSHP on the Thurs night before the cruise.....
Can't wait....300 sleeps till we leave..:thumbsup2

Still not sure if we will be doing the parks- since my DD will be in 2nd grade it gets tricky taking her out of school (even though her school is great about letting us take her out- Private school- for family trips, I don't want her to get too far behind) so we are still debating about what to do. MNSSHP would be tons of fun though!

Everyone must be really busy this week.

Me and my GF were on the Wonder for Halloween this(last?) year. They decorated the lobby, played Halloween music (Some Nightmare Before Christmas stuff) Had characters walking around in Halloween Costumes (Mummy Goofy, Space Donald) Played Haunted Mansion on the Ariel View, and trick or treating for the kids.
That being said we booked the cruise for this year too. :)

hi....we're going on this cruise.....it will be our 5th DCL and our first halloween. should be special, thinking about costumes now....not sure who we'll be.
previously, me and DH went on cruises with friends. this is the first one that we're going on with the whole family. we booked three cabins and we're all sitting together at the late dining.
i would love to hear about the holloween activities DCL does from someone who has done it before.
also, i would love to know about the atlantis excursion where you go on property and use their facilities. anyone out there that has done this before? please advise as to what we need to do.
traveling with me and DH, next door to us is adult DD and DS-inlaw, down the hall from us is adult DS with two D-grand-S's ages 15 and 16.
we have made some good friends on DCL trips and we have stayed in contact over the years. hope to add some more this trip too.
counting down......
Welcome aboard EllaEnchanted
sorry can't help with the holloween activities DCL does
lovely to hear you made good friends from your last DCL trips , hopefully new one will be made this time too
we done the atlantis trip with Disney the last time just doing the dig , and for us that was enough and headed back to the boat after that
This is our second cruise
are you all spending some time in WDW too

hi again,
can't wait to meet all of you....sounds like we have a bunch of teens going with us on the halloween cruise. should make my D-grand-S's very happy. can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.
we're all traveling from PA to FL together in a rented 12 passenger van. we're spending two days in cocoa beach to r&r before getting on board. then we have a 10 minute drive to get on the boat. we like to get on early and go straight to the adult pool and bar and have a BBC. a bailey's banana colada that is to die for and only disney cruise makes them great. after, we'll spend three days at WDW before heading back home.
we're getting our favorite cabin #5122 so everyone come and say hi and we've got the late seating. it takes me way too long to dress for dinner, i need the extra time.
:woohoo: this is us ready and counting down the days till we're home again in cabin 5122 :cool1: :dance3: :cheer2:
keep in touch, cya'll soon.
Last year for Halloween between the time we were walking around the ship, and went in to change for Dinner the lobby of the cruise was transformed with cobwebs, fog, hanging bats and spiders, and all sorts of other things. Characters with Costumes were out and about, Halloween music (Nightmare Before Christmas!) was playing and some kids were trick or treating. Afterwards they had late night snacks and Haunted Mansion was playing on the Ariel view. It was a LOT of fun.
Last year we were midship deck 5 right near the movie theatre, so I'm sure you'll enjoy your room!

DH and me are still talking about who to be......
DgrandS's were visiting today and really got into DIS when I showed them. So they added their thoughts.
I'm not sure where to trick or treat, but I'm going to bring bags of candy to hand out anyway, just while we're walking around.

No costume ideas yet. Girls have been some form of a princess every year since they were old enough to trick or treat. I didn't really like the trick or treating on the boat last time. It was very, very crowded and because it was one big circle, it was hard to figure out how to break into the line. We might skip that and just hit the dance party. My kids loved dancing in costume and seeing the different characters stop by in their Halloween costumes.
Last year we didn't bring costumes, but something happened on halloween and I ended up walking out of one of the shops with a Captain Jack outfit last year...
Don't know how it came to be really, honestly. pirate:

He'll get into the spirit once we get there, and the kids'll make him too!! I'm teaching DD how to give her Daddy puppy dog eyes! LOL
DH will be Captian Jack Sparrow, I'll be Minnie Mouse, DS has Woody and Buzz and DD has Belle & Ariel (we'll also be at the parks and go to MNSSHP so we wanted them to have costumes for both).

I can't wait for this cruise!
Looks like the date to make Palo reservations and book excursions for CC members is 7/30 and for first time cruisers 8/14-- is that the dates everyone else is calculating?
I'm going to try to book the brunch (day at sea) and the dinner for the 2nd night.
I think we are going to do the Atlantis excursion and the stingrays at CC. What is everyone else planning?

I'm almost there...I just paid another $1K towards this cruise today. I plan to be paid by June so I can start paying for the cruise I'm doing after this one in 2008....can you say addicted!
I just booked two rooms at the Atlantis today too. We're traveling with seven so I'll need passes for all of us to get on the property and do everything that we want to do....especially the lazy river tube through the aquarium. I can't wait to do that, it's going to be awesome. I'll probably do it more than one time.:thumbsup2
We still have not decided on costumes yet. We were thinking about the seven dwarfs, but that kind of fizzled. So now we're doing whatever each individual wants. I'm not sure what I feel like being that's going to be easy to pack and comfortable to wear.:confused3

Those are great costumes Lisa. Me and DH John were throwing around the idea of being retro Mickey and Minnie in black and white. It shouldn't be to hard to do. We'll see.
When is the MNSSHP? We're doing WDW after the cruise, but not before. We probably missed it then.:sad1:

My kids loved dancing in costume and seeing the different characters stop by in their Halloween costumes.
Where do they do the trick or treating? Where is the dance party?:confused3

Last year we didn't bring costumes, but something happened on halloween and I ended up walking out of one of the shops with a Captain Jack outfit last year...
Don't know how it came to be really, honestly. pirate:
The MOUSE got'cha!!!:goodvibes :lmao: :wizard:
I'll probably just bring my Jack outfit again.

How many people here are bringing teens with them? Boys or girls or both? What ages?
I'm asking because my DGS are coming on this trip .... 2 boys that will be 15 and 16 at time of sailing.
They're very anxious to know if there are going to be any teens for them to meet on the ship. So anyone traveling with teens, please let me know.:rolleyes1 :cool2: :rolleyes1
Thanks.
My DS will nearly be 17 at the time
he really enjoyed the club the last time , only seen him at dinner time
I have a roll call on my first post
might of missed a few out

So the club is the place to be if you're a teen. What is your son's name? My DGS's are Tom 16 and Kris 15 at time of cruise. What do they do in the club? Did your son say about how many teens hang out there? So far, you're the only one who answered about having a teen traveling on this cruise. I hope there's more than just our three.

In addition to this one, there are two other threads out there that were started by people traveling on this cruise. Does somebody want to let them know that they should join us here???

The boys are going to be so thrilled with this cruise. We're buying them cruise casual and formal clothes for their birthdays this year, so they'll be ready in October. What is your son's name? Do they usually have pirates night or tropical night on this cruise?:dance3:

Hi Jackie, We'll probably have a pirates night on this cruise too. Thanks for that, now I know what outfits to bring.
Thanks also for letting me know how to post a link, it's very good to know.
A DOD is the Drink Of the Day. A BBC is a Bailey's Banana Colada. Only DCL makes them good. If you like bananas, you're going to LOVE this. I would love to share one with you poolside. We're in SR# 5122. Do you know your SR# yet? Keep in touch. I would love to meet you and discuss many things about Ireland. I only flew over it once, but it was so beautiful with rolling green hills.
Thanks for doing your trip report. Did you like NYC? I used to live and work there. But I decided I didn't want to grow old there, so now I live in PA in the mountains...a much nicer lifestyle.
What is your son's name? Who are you traveling with?
Hope you have a great weekend...summer is just around the corner...:goodvibes

Hi everyone! DH and I will hopefully be joining you on the Halloween cruise. We're trying to get the logisitics worked out as we speak. I'm waiting on Dreams Unlimited for a quote and if all works out you will see us on board! This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. We cruised for the first time this past Jan. and loved it. Currently, we have a labor day trip booked at WDW and am now planning to cancel to move to Oct. so we can do this cruise with a Disney stop. We're both 27 and have no kids but would love to meet you all. For those of you who have cruised in Oct. how warm does it get??? Well anyways, I look forward to hearing from you!!!!!!!

So my Minnie costume I ordered AGES ago from the Disney Store hasn't come yet and they keep saying it's backordered, I doubt I'll ever get it (I have ot figure out how to cancel the order). BUT.... I SHOULD be PG by the itme of our cruise so I'm going to need some great ideas for costumes. If all goes well, I should be about 23 weeks or so (luckily I didn't get PG last month since I wouldn't be allowed to cruise, I would have been 27 weeks and they won't let you go if you're over 24 weeks) so I'll have a belly but not a HUGe one yet. I'll take any ideas right now! LOL Thanks!

Hi All!!! We are so ready for this cruise, we're paid in full and we've booked and paid for two rooms at the Atlantis hotel for use of all their facilities on our excursion. We've got our car rental booked to drive down to FL, we've booked 2 nights at a hotel in Cocoa Beach before cruise and we've booked 3 nights in Orlando after cruise.
Me and DH picked out our costumes....waiting for payday to buy them online. Doing pirate costumes so we can wear them again on Pirates night for all of our cruises. We also checked out MNSSHP and decided we're going on Nov 2. Can't wait, I've heard all good things about it and have never been there yet.
OK I'm ready now....we can leave....
Oh except....gotta wait for end of July to book Palo, spas and excursions on CC.
Summer is finally here and it always goes quickly, so we'll be cruisin' right after that.
Can't wait to meet you all....DODs at the Pool!!!!:dance3: :yay: :dance3:

ok, this thread has been around for awhile it seems, so anyone traveling w/ DS or DD around 5 yrs old? DS will turn 5 on Oct 30th, while on board. It would be great if we "knew" some DISers that were traveling too. Want to make the most out of the experience. Does anyone do anything special for Halloween? Like a DIS kids "party" or trick-or-treat. Want to come prepared. I heard the ship does some sort of trick-or-treat? Will be doing the MMNSSHP so candy is not on the top of our needed list. Anyone else with some thoughts?
sorry to let you all know we are not now joining you all on this cruise
we have decided to do the 7 night eastern cruise instead
with only $800 more for a GTY12
so it has been great chating with you all
hope you have a great cruise and enjoy all your DODs at the Pool Debs
will be checking in after to see how you all get on

last year on the wonder, halloween was on Tuesday night which is the same night at the Pirate night so they switched the pirate night. But i am sure pirate night is on tuesday and halloween celebration will be wednesday. they have a big halloween trick or treat for the kids and then that night they have a party for everyone and they have a costume contest!!! It was a lot of fun last year. The Disers that went even got together and did some happy for the kids that came with all of the disers and have a small meet prior to the big trick or treat! Hope that helped!!

thanks for the info Stephieann, there is so much to know to get the best out of your trip. DS is used to going to bed between 830 and 9pm, so the Pirates party is going to be his big night out while on board. If he can't make it thru the Halloween party I will not worry, I am trying to avoid a super cranky child. trick-or-treat should make his happy on board plus w/ doing the MMNSSHP I feel I have covered the "fun" aspect of Halloween. If the Disers are planning anything for the Halloween cruise I hope I can find out. I'll check this board once in a while...

I am sure some people go way out and have costumes for it all, but only doing that for DS. He already has a pirates costume (got it on line cheap at Littletykes.com), but he looks cute. We will accessorize it some too. I am wearing all black and accessorizing with some pirate-like stuff, shoes, maybe a headband, earrings,etc.. DH is wearing a black shirt (not sure what pants I will pair with it) and again some simple accessories, picked up a pirates loot pouch (DS will have fun with at home once trip is over) maybe an eye patch, tattoo, etc...
As for Halloween DS and I are checking out the costume selection at the Disney store this week. Will probably wait for a sale to buy. He thinks he wants to be Buzz (seems like a packable choice). Again I will accessorize and I doubt DH will be bothered much, maybe I'll bring him an orange shirt or something.
I hope this sounds ok...I figure you do what your are most comfortable with, an although I am not opposed to wearing a costume we did MNSSHP 2 years ago and we did not feel out of place dress as above !!
Vacation should be about relaxing not stressing over what needs to be wore when !! Let's enjoy !!

As for costumes, we are painfully unprepared so far. I'm sure we'll go all out for DD, but Dh and I aren't too into the dressing up thing. I'd do it if I could find a simple costume, but I really doubt Dh will do it at all. Maybe I can get him to wear an eye patch or something.
Has everyone booked their excursion and Palo reservations? Yesterday was the day I could do it, and I still haven't done it yet. Too much going on around here, and I'm just not organized!

We are not going to dress up. We did a little last year. this year it is all about us spending time together since he has been gone for 9 months. We are doing Palo dinner and brunch. I think our brunch is seaday at 1030 and dinner is tuesday at 6 or 630

OK I'm a bit behind... what's Pirate Night and when is it (what time, what night, etc?).
We have Palo brunch booked for the 31st at 10:30 and the Atlantis Beach Day for Nassau. DH will go Parasailing at Castaway Cay.
It would be so much fun to have a Meet N Greet for all of us!

Pirate night is done on the 3rd night. It starts off at dinner when the theme at dinner is a pirate theme. You will get bandanas at dinner. after dinner there will be a deck party. not sure what time it starts...i think 945. It has lots of music and then a visit from a few characters. After the party there is a fireworks display (disney is the only cruise line that has been approved to do this.) then after that there is a dessert buffet and still music. Last year they showed Pirates of the caribean 2 afterwards. I hope they play 3 this year on the jumbo (areil tv) tron. HTH!

Thanks Steph. Unfortunately, 9:45 is WAY too late for my kids to stay up so we'll have to miss it. I hope we can see the fireworks from our verandah... :sad1:

Pirates night does sound fun, but I do wish it could start alittle earlier. It will be DS 5th birthday that day, the 30th, so I think I will let him party till he drops !! This will really be our only late night except for MNSSHP on the 26th. We were in WDW for his 3rd bday, and did the trick-or-treat. When he said he was tired we headed back to the hotel (GF) and watched fireworks from there. It is great that the next day is the day at sea, so we can all relax and recouperate.
Any plans brewing for Halloween? I know there is trick-or-treat onboard, but any DIS plans ? I like to plan and be prepared !!

Just a example for Halloween. Last year we all did a small treat bag for all the kids in our DIS group. We put candy and small halloween theme toys (like from oriental trade). then we all met at the mickey pool prior to the DCL ToT, lined the kids up and we dropped the goodie bags in there ToT bags.

I like the idea of getting together prior to the on board t-o-t , or something like that. I would think trying to go from statroom to stateroom would be hard. Plus I want to be w/ DS too not stuck in cabin. How would we know the # of children? I wouldn't want to be short supplies and I don't want to have to drag alot of stuff back home.
Also, I have read about people giving gifts to CM who work in the oceaneers club, since you don't tip them. Has anyone ever done that on a 4 night cruise, or is that more of a 7 night thing. If so, could use some ideas...

Ok, here is what we did last year. About this time we all posted how many kids were going. Keep in mind that more may pop up. We bought enough for 40 kids. However what i had left i gave to our stateroom host. Just left it on the bed for them and told them on a little note that it was for them and to have a happy halloween. gave extra to the kids too. If ya want just PM me and i can keep everyone posted on the numbers. I did magnets for everyone last year here is a sample of one. I am going to so me one this year but i have not worked it up yet. I will post it when done and if anyone wants one all you have to do is pay 5 to help on the cost of mag and ink. thanks steph

I am not sure on how the DCL ToT works. We do not have any kids and i did not go with my sister to take my nieces around. I think they give you a map and you have to follow it. I think they got a movie at the end, VCR tape of a Hephalumps movie is what that got i think last year

So if we do this, are we doing candy or $1 Halloween type toys? I'd rather not do candy for several reasons: DS is too young for most candy still (I don't even like DD to eat too much if I can help it) and DS has severe multiple food allergies and probably wouldn't be able to eat most of it anyway.

If i did it i will probably put soft candy and some other toys... a mixture. I do not have kids but i love to do this. We need a count and an agreement to do this .

I'd be up for the Halloween goodie bag thing. Sounds fun, as long as I can keep them simple! I'd rather do a toy than candy since I'm not wild about DD eating candy (she's hyper enough naturally :yay: ). We just have the 1 kiddo. Cute pic of the group of kids, btw!
Oh, also I love the magnet idea! Keep me posted on that if you do them again. I'd be happy to pay the $5 to cover costs!
In other news, I finally got around to booking our Palo reservation. There weren't too many spots open, but I got it for Night 2, and I'm happy with that. The only other excursion I'm going to book for us is the Dolphin Swim at Nassau, and I'm booking it directly with the Dolphin Encounter company, since DCL doesn't offer this one. I'd much rather do this 1 excursion than 12 others! I'm super excited about it!!!!!!! :woohoo:

I'd be ok with a mixture of toys and candy, as long as DS can participate w/o me having to then take away everything he got! Count us in for 2 kids if everyone else wants to do it! And that pic is way too cute!!!!

I e-mailed Sue Ellen, our Dreams Unlimited agent, asking her for more info on Halloween on the cruise. She sent me her Navigators for the Halloween cruise she went on 2 years ago!! Here's the link to the entire group of them (http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/cruise/photos/personal-navigator/index.htm). She wanted me to make sure I knew that activities can change, but I think we can get the general idea of the Halloween festivities! Now, I just need to buy cute ToTing bags for the kids. They used buckets around home last year but I really don't want to shove buckets into our luggage!
And here are the 2 Halloween Ones:

the navigator was great, thanks !! We have early dining so we could do tot and DS could go to oceaneers club party.
count us in for one child too.
I saw some finger puppets on oriental trading I thought were cute.
How about gummie (fun fruit) snacks, you know the little pouches by Betty Crocker or Kelloggs, in the same area as fruit roll ups. They have some Disney, like Little Einsteins, or at Hallowwen last year I think I found some generic type holiday ones.
I haven't followed all the pages so what is up with the magnet deal? Thanks.
I think this is really going to be a fun time !!

so 4 kids so far...well, I am sure there will be more, maybe some people don't start looking at the boards quite so early. Hopefully the kids will meet in the club and friend along. DS is always making friends somewhere, but never knows their names. I have to sit down with him and look over the posted navigators to see where his interests are. He will turn 5 on board, so I see things in both the 3-4 and 5-7 grps he would like to do. I am sure he will go to the Aloha party the first night. He likes to dance !!
The websites and pics have been great. Really helping me to prepare.

so I am wondering how dressed up some of you ladies are planning on getting for the "formal" night? We haven't been on DCL since its first year, then you got dressed up the night you ate at Lumiere's. I believe now it is the second night on board? I have some trendy knit(with touch of spandex) type pants outfits (great for packing) and then i have a nicer pants outfit all black w/ some rhinestones. I don't know what to do?
How about DH? do I bring a suitcoat/jacket, shirt/tie, or is a nice golf shirt appropriate?
H-E-L-P !!!!

When we went on DCL for part of our Disneymoon, we did the 7 day one and formal night was very formal. The men wore tuxedos (or black suits) and the ladies got very dressed up. I don't know for sure, but I think the 4 day cruises are a bit less formal. Since I'll be 23 weeks PG, I have only 1 dress that will fit that is dressy. It's a coral colored maternity dress that I wore to a black tie event last time I was PG. I think DH is just going to wear a sports jacket and nice pants. And of course I'm going to overdress the kids since they'll look adorable!!

We aren't exactly the dressing up type of people these days. Dh *hates* to dress up. He's a big guy, so he's always hot and miserable. I've learned to not force the issue, because what fun is it to be with your Dh when he's uncomfy and in a bad mood? So, that being said, the most dressed up we're going to get is him in a very nice shirt and slacks, and hopefully a tie. And I have a nice pants suit that should work. DD is going to be in a wedding on Saturday, and her dress will also work perfectly for the cruise. It's just a beautiful chocolate brown and white princess dress, and she'll definitely look the cutest out of the 3 of us!
Oh, I finally got DD's Halloween costume at the Disney store yesterday. It's their Tinkerbell costume, and I got the light-up wings that go with it. I might take the wings back, though, because they're going to be a pain to pack in a suitcase! Hmmmmm. Not sure if I should just keep them or not??? With what I spent on her costume, I'm really doubting that I'm going to get a costume for myself now.

Lisa, the dress looks pretty. The dressy panty suit I have has a shirt w/ a similar look as the skirt part of your dress. Sorta frilly, in black. Still not sure what I'm going to do. I think I'll look around some more for something trendy before I decide.
Has anyone ever used Downy spray wrinkle release, I think that is what it is called. I saw they have a small travel size and wondered if it worked well. Especially if I bring a dress shirt and tie for DH, which is what I am leaning toward. Even if I iron it at the hotel, it is still spending half a day at least in the suitcase again, and I hate ironing for nothing.

Hi everyone!
Stephiann - ITA, those are fantastic!! I like both very much, but the full color one on the bottom is my favorite. I'd be willing to pay for either one, even if the bottom one is a little more.
Hello to rosedawn! I hope your mom is better soon!
Grumpy John - thanks for the suggestion of mailing the wings. However, I think I'll just find some way to pack them since I've already spent a bundle on this 3 year old child's costume, LOL! Don't think Dh would like me adding another $10 or $20 to that total. I think they might fit on top in our suitcase. Hope so! Or I will have a flightless Tinkerbell running around.
Ok, I better get going. I have so little time these days to post, but I am reading. It's been such a crazy busy few weeks around my house! Hope you're all doing great!

I can't believe the trip is coming so fast....I was thinking I was so prepared but now I feel out of sorts.
So, any more that 4 kids so far for our Diser's tot? (I haven't been reading board too much for the last few days.)
DS was having trouble picking a Halloween costume, he wanted to be a McQueen race car driver (costume from Disney store), but I thought it was a bit to warm for the trip. So, we decided to try and make our own Handy Manny costume. The jeans part was easy (hee hee), found a sorta lime green colored tee (wanted a baseball style w/ green sleeves, but can't find), we have a tool belt. So, now looking for yellow colored kid size gloves, and a plain red baseball cap (which is proving harder than I thought.) For his candy bag, I was going to get a red paper gift bag, to look like tool box, and then found a print of the tools we (or I) can color. What do you guys (& girls) think? Oh, almost forgot, need a pencil behind the ear too (DS always reminds me of that.)

Stephieann - I'd give you our room #, but we're in the DCL slums, so we don't know it yet. We're in Cat 12. I'm hoping we'll get upgraded, though! :rolleyes1
We finally got our passports. Woohoo! Actually, it only took about 8 weeks, and we didn't even expedite them. Not bad.

Hi everyone!!! Sorry I've been MIA, Jackie got us all sick... :sad1: I can't believe we're going to WDW next month! WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: We got Seth's allergy results back and he outgrew quite a few (thank goodness) so I have to fill out his medical form for the cruise and e-mail all the chefs for the land part to give them his updated list. Then I think all I need to do is find ToT bags for the kids and we should be set until it's time to pack!
Scott was showing the kids some of our Disneymoon video and pics today... Wow, it was great to look back to 5 years ago and before kids (and to see how skinny I was then! LOL)
BTW, for the ToT we're doing ourselves, can I request that if you put candy in not to put anything with dairy or nuts in Seth's? I'd hate to have him see it and have me take it away. He can have lollipops and fruit snack type stuff, but he's HIGHLY allergic to all dairy, nuts, wheat, eggs, seeds. Jackie isn't allergic to anything and will eat anything! Thanks!
Do any of your kids have any dietary restrictions to be noted? I haven't even started thinking yet what I'll get for the bags. I guess I'll take a trip to Party City soon!

also glad to hear Ella is doing better. We want her in tip-top shape come cruise time !!
Okay, so have we gotten any other tot kids lined up? I want to start buying my stuff. So far I think I only know of 4.
Lisa, I am totally avoiding chocolate type treats and sticking with gummies and sugar candy (like sweet tarts). plus, some junky toys to have fun with. I saw a little activity book at our local party store w/ coloring and activities for like 70 - 80 cents each. I thought that they would be good but there weren't too many so I don't know what to do.
Keep me posted/updated....
still looking for yellow gloves to complete our handy manny costume...

09-04-2007, 02:25 PM
so far I don't think we picked a place to meet. Since I haven't been aboard DCL for 8 years, I don't think I am the best candidate...Someone else pick the time and place and we will have Handy Manny, aka: Trevor, there ready to "party" !!

I agree w/ Lisa, Stephie should be in charge !! LOL, as long as it is not me, I'm happy !!
Lisa, you will be in WDW about the same time we will, are you doing the MMNSSHP? We are on the 26th.

09-06-2007, 02:58 PM
We'll be in the parks Oct 23-28, staying at AKL. We're not doing MNSSHP this year as much as we'd like to. Even though we know there's no way to get the kids back to the hotel and tucked in my their regular bedtime (7:30/8) we want to get back as close to it as we can. Because of the timing of MNSSHP, we figure we'd only be able to stay for maybe an hour and we don't want to have to pay for all 4 of us for only an hour. We'll go back in about 203 years again in Oct and take the kids then (of course we'll have the Little Monkey to worry about bedtime then! LOL)
BTW, about to send you a PM, I got outbid on those pirate costumes on Ebay...
Stephieann

Me, in Charge...oh man... LOL..are you sure you want to do that..LOL. OK now here we go..we gotta do this we gotta do that... everyone pick something to do while i kick back and watch........LOL. Just kidding!!!
So, do we want to meet about 3 at the mickey pool on the 28th?

ok... umm... let me think on this. DH does not have a green shirt either... prior to me coming to this cruise i was on another and we were going to do a grass skirt meet on embarkment day where everyone wears a grass skirt to know each other.... what about that..or we all wear leis or something... anyone else have any ideas?
*@*@*@*@*@*
i am going to buy for 10 kids so if we have more then they can just have more or i will give to my stateroom hose!

09-07-2007, 07:49 PM
we do not have green shirts either, at least lime green, except DS, who will be wearing one probably as part of his Handy Manny costume, best green tee I could come up with. I think I will do 10 or 12 bags too. I hope the activity books are still at the party store when I get there.
Speaking of the Handy Manny costume, we were at the toy store yesterday and DS saw a Lightening McQueen pit crew csotume, and guess he wants to be now...I said "I showed you that costume on the computer and you didn't want it", "but now I do". Yikes!! Not sure if I should just buy it and be done or make the Manny costume, I did tell him there would be alot of Cars costumes between WDW and DCL , but not too many Manny's. So, he might not want to look like everyone else.

Michele, I hope you get the costume figured out! Right now Jackie's saying she doesn't want her Cinderella one at all and only wants to wear Belle... Um, she has Ariel as well (her fav princess) and if I bought them all for her, she's going to wear them all! LOL
I think I'll do for 10 kids as well. Not sure what I'm getting for the treat bags yet, but I'll figure something out as we get closer.

Is it October yet? I am thinking about ordering some lei, to wear at the meet, I think that would be a good thing to help notice the DIS group, if anyone would like to have one i would be glad to send some out to you. i just need to know so i can order enough. I will have to order in time to get them to you prior to leaving so you can wear them at the meet.

I'm giddy on cold meds (I never told you guys I ended up in the ER a few days ago. I blacked out and didn't feel the baby. Turns out I have either pneumonia or bronchitis).

I don't have have any leis so going to have to order them. DH and I have never been leid, well not that I can remember. :rotfl2: :rotfl: he comes home this month....
I had a dream about the cruise...I dreamed that we were in Nassau and I could not account for the day ahead. I remember getting on the ship, but didn't remember the sail a way party(must have been what you are on Lisa:rotfl: ) anyway, we had some freaky room and they had given us all kind of gifts and stuff. was told had something to do with dh coming home and serving time over seas.. and OH YEA in the dream I had to move our date back because I forgot our birth cert.. and stuff, then once we did get on the ship..I could not find my camera...oh no I forgot it. Now I am so worried I will forget all these things..:lmao: :. I am thinking I had a similar dream last year about this time before the cruise.:confused3 ..I will have to make myself a bunch of notes.

The lei thing would be ok for me. I am sure I could find a cheap one somewhere. Maybe just the ladies would wear them, we could spare the DH's that would be embarrassed. Do you guys have a Michaels craft store near you? I think they are all over the US? Anyway I saw the cutest little Halloween headband there for like a dollar or 2 each. Like cat ears, bunny ears, devil horns, and witch hats w/ funny hair. I was thinking of getting one to wear for Halloween, DH & I are not dressing up, but they could be a way to "connect". Who could miss a bunch of ladies with silly headbands? DS wants me to pick a witches hat, but not sure yet. I saw some really nice ones at the local Halloween store, but they were like $5-$10. Not a bad price considering a person could wear again and again, but if the dollar one does the trick, why pay more.
So, I saw the halloween magnetic pages, they were cute. I hate to show my computer illiteracy, but I didn't even know there was magnetic paper. My husband is in computer networking, so he handles all computer details at our house. Anyway, I wanted to put something on our door, mostly to help DS identify it and dress it up for him alittle. So, at the craft store I bought a foam frame and a foam pirate ship for him to decorate w/ foamy details and stickers. We like to do little projects like this. The frame already has a magnet and I can stick one to the boat, do you think this would be okay to stick on the door?

Steph,
your pics are great !! It is ugly and raining here right now, so your beach pic and sun/cloud one are very inspiring. Do you think we can get October here any faster? I am thinking of the "see ya real soon" pic as an invite to fun, fun, fun !!
Also, thought the leis were cute. I was going to get one at the Poly, that is where we are staying prior to cruise, but the ones you pictured are so cute and themed I want one !! Well, 2 if possible. I think DS would like one too. He would like the scariest looking one, especially if it had a spider. So, if alot of people want , we will just take one, if you will have enough we will take 2. Just let me know the cost.
Went to the party store yesterday and picked up the little activity pads for our tot !! also DS picked spider rings !! and some gummy lifesavers too. Trying to prepare for both preschool and cruise !! too many in preschool for activity pads though.
Things seem to be coming together for us all !! Getting more excited everyday !!

Great news to hear DH is one step closer to home. We will say a prayer for a safe and speedy return home !!
So, I think I have enough stuff for my treat bags. Went to the craft store and Walmart today. Might throw a pack of raisins in yet, give some sense of nutrition to the treat bag. Found some cute noise makers to throw in (don't worry Lisa, not too loud!!)
