We had a death due to inhalation anthrax a couple of towns over from us yesterday! It was a 94 y.o. woman, living alone in a rural town who died. They don't have any idea of how she got anthrax, since she seldom went anywhere, so they suspect the mail. The central mail facility her mail went through is right here in Wallingford! It was tested just last week and came up clean. They're testing again, but it's pretty scary, & WAY TOO CLOSE TO HOME!

I was a little nervous about flying. Now, that doesn't bother me nearly as much as going to the mailbox! Getting on the plane to go to DIS-CON will be easy compared to this.

Please remember this woman & her family in your prayers, & send some healing pixie dust to CT if you have any to spare.

Thanks.

Hi Nancy. I was very sorry to hear of this woman's illness....and then death. :(

I am a little more cautious when getting MY mail out of the box these days too. :(

I guess life has changed us forever...may as well make the most of it. :::shrugging shoulders:::

See you soon Nancy. :)

Pixie dust and {{{Hugs}}} to you, Nancy. I read on the papers here about the lady's ilness. I was wondering if there was anyone around here from that area. More {{{Hugs}}} to you.

Hi, Nancy. I know what you mean. My sister lived in Seymour for a while. I guess that's pretty close to where the anthrax was found. They live in West Haven now. She was pretty freaked out by the whole thing, too. I do look a bit more closely at the mail, now. I hate being paranoid. But, look what happened and they don't even know how she got it!

That was terrible news. God bless that poor lady and and CT and everyone having to deal with this terror. Just have a safe trip and think about the wonderful, magical, Disney vacation that you are going to have.
