Just returned from the 10/28/06 Magic. While onboard, DH and I booked the 7/29/07 Wonder, to celebrate our 20th Anniversary on August 1st. (Psssst.....we're not taking the kids this time! :Pinkbounc )

Who else is going on this cruise?????

tchrmom

OK....I'm giving myself a BUMP, since no one will see this on page 3!

tchrmom
11-11-2006, 10:21 AM
OK........another BUMP for myself.

Looks like DH and I will have the Wonder all to ourselves.

That could ba a good thing, I guess............. ;)

But we may get bored...............After 20 years of marriage, what will we talk about, with no kids around?

But then again, I'm talking to myself on this silly thread! How sad is that????? :confused3

Welcome DisEye!

So glad to see that we will have some company on the ship!
This was another great weekend in FL! Hope your weekend was pleasant too!

Oops! I see you are in Illinois.
Don't think you're having the same kind of weather we are. But.......I hope you had a nice weekend, just the same!

Our weekend weather was not so pleasant. Rain and ice and snow all mixed in together. Church was cancelled and our electricity went off for about 2 hours on Saturday night. It's been snowing today but temps are in the low 30's today so not too bad. Looking forward to spring!

OK.........Time for "The March bump"

Looks like I really won't need to rush to get to my computer on April 30th and pick my excursions/Palo ressies.....as there will only be 3 families on this ship.

Peggy Jean
03-19-2007, 07:38 PM
Well I know I haven't posted here for a while. :rolleyes1 So to update our 7/29/07 cruise. We have 2 cabins on the second floor. It will be me, DD19 and DS's girlfriend, 20 in one room and then there's DH, DS20 and DD's boyfriend, 19 in the other room.

We're going down a day early and meeting up with DH who will already be there for a conference. We'll be staying at POFQ, with breakfast ressies the morning of the cruise at Boatwright's for breakfast, ummmmmm sweet potato pancakes. :) The kids will probably go to a water park, DH and I will just catch up as we'll have been apart for about 10 days prior to this. Gee how'd I get the pleasure of flying down with all the kids????:confused3

Everyone wants to go to Palo for brunch, yeah right we'll see. :rotfl: Since we have 2 rooms we received 2 planning kits. DD took one back to college so she and her BF can look it over.

This is my family's 4th Disney cruise, but a first for the BF and GF, so this should really be fun. :cool1:

We are hoping the Hercules show stays on the Wonder as it is our favorite show.

So right now we are waiting for decent airfare, and waiting til the 30th of April to make reservations for some special thing to do.:cheer2:

So tha's where we are for now.

Peggy Jean! Glad to see you're back!

This will be our 8th cruise......I think. We're on deck 6. I feel a little guilty:sad2: NOT taking the kids on a Disney cruise.........but after all it is our 20th anniversay, and we've never been away from them for more than 2 nights. (they are 15 and 11)

DH and I will probably drive over Saturday afternoon. We are close enough to drive over the day of, but I'm a little "crazy" about being one of the first to the terminal.

You're lucky to get 2 Palo ressies! Don't think we've figured out when we want to go yet.....August 1 is our actual anniversary, but that is the last night on the ship. We've never done Palo and had to get our bags out of the cabin before.:scratchin I need more time to think it through.......

I know I posted to another thread a while back about this sailing, but it looks like I'd better get going on this one. We finally finalized who's going, and are paid in full.

This cruise is DW and mine 25th wedding anniversary. Along with us will be our then 20 y.o. DS, then 14 y.o. DD, and DD's 14 y.o. friend. We're staying at VWL two nights prior to the July 29 sailing. After the cruise we're on to the BWV until the following Sunday.

It's 119 days until we're there, but who's counting?

Though this cruise is not specifically to celebrate our anniversary, ours is July 31st too. My family goes on vacation every year together for a week at about that time of year--Mom and Dad, my family, and my sister's and brother's families. There are 15 of us in all. We were supposed to go last year but my sister-in-law got pregnant and was too far along to go, so we changed to this year.

So the 30th is the day we can book excursions, spa, etc? Guess we need to finalize plans. Hoping to get "the girls" to the Wild Side teen adventure on CC. DS and 2 friends did this before and had a great time, although they were pooped. This time we need to find DS a DGF, unless something changes between now and then.

DW doesn't want to do Palo, working on for at least a brunch. I guess we're already feeling 4 day is too short of time. We'll see........

Dh and I were saying the other day......this is never going to be "enough".

It's bad enough that we have to go to Nassau (sp?......that looks funny)
But to only have 4 days on the ship is just wrong!

Another great weekend here in Tampa.........hope everyone else gets some sun too. I think we're planning on taking our wave runner out in the Gulf. Water temp is still too cold for me (74) but DH and DS like it. Me, I'm good with watching life go by on the beach!:beach:

Well we paid off the cruise about a week ago so we would be able to start booking reservations. So now we're really poor :rotfl: :rotfl:

AND I was one of those east coasters who set the alarm for 2:50am so I could get up and snag a couple Palo ressies. But it paid off, I managed to get Brunch for DD and her BF, and another one for DS and his GF. Since we've booked 2 cabins I was able to do this for both of them and at different times.

DH and I are going to try kayaking on CC, I think he's going to owe me for this one. :lmao: Maybe I'll do something at the spa the next day.

Anyway we're all getting really excited and the plans are really rolling now.

I have a question. I have 3 gently used Disney Cruise girls's pink sweatshirts from a previous cruise which are in almost new condition. My girls can't wear them anymore, but I hate to just donate them to Goodwill. Would it be weird to take them along and try to give them to someone on the cruise?

I really don't want to mail them anywear but I'd like to bless someone with them. Is there anyone out there that will be on our cruise that would like them? Two are girl's extra-small (probably 4/5) and one is a small (6/6x). Otherwise would someone think I was a weirdo if I just tried to give them to someone while we are on the cruise?

If someone from this thread does not want them, I'd take them to the Mickey pool with me one afternoon, and look for a parent who has children about that size. Explain the situation to them................worst case, they say "no". (But I wouldn't take it personally.....my DD would not wear a sweatshirt that belonged to someone she didn't know.....but she's a bit of a "prima donna")

I'd avoid going over to the children first, for obvious reasons........

Good Luck!

DS20 is still at school, he's staying there til just before vacation (you know how it goes, he has a job near school, taking a few classes and all). Hi Guys:

DD (Staci) and I will be sailing with you. Haven't had much time to post (Kpros usually posts - which is why he is always signed on and it's too much trouble to sign off and resign in as me). DD is 15 and this will be her 5th cruise and my 10th. We're looking forward to a little mother/daughter time. We will be spending three days at WDW prior to the sail. It's been three years at least since her last cruise and probably seven or eight since being to WDW. We're looking forward to a good time.

Is anyone planning on dressing up for pirate night? Ken and I usually do. Need to think about getting something for DD to wear.

You can add one more couple sailing on the Wonder on July 29. As you can see from my post count, I’m new to the boards. I have, however, lurked for a short while so I think I’m pretty familiar with proper protocol. I also noticed that there is no such thing as bad taste when it comes to too many smileys (I kid of course, I kid).
So with that disclaimer out of the way, DW (tada! I assume DW means Dear Wife?) and I will be sailing July 29 on the Wonder. We are not only rookies to the whole Disney thing, but also to cruising in general. We are both really looking forward to our first cruise. We have some overzealous neighbors that had been nagging and nagging us to go on a cruise with them for the better part of six months and eventually we gave in. If their recent behavior is any indication of how much fun these Disney cruises are, then it should be a blast! Grown people should not act like this in public, in particular since their kids are cringing only a few feet away. No, really! There is dancing and hooping and hollering in the middle of the street. It's absolutley shameless.
:dancer:
I believe DW will be creating her own user name. We were going to create a single user for the two of us but we couldn’t compromise on a user name.
Looking forward to experiencing our first cruise with all of you!

I filled out my online registration today............

On the page where you "check" the members of your party who can have the right to charge on your KTTW, those crazy neighbors of ours were listed!

NOPE! Only DH gets to charge on ours!

:stir:

So not only are those two crashing your Anniversary cruise but also trying to smooch off of you? Jeeze! That's just outright pathetic. I'm thinking your neighbors and our neighbors should meet. They will probably get along extremely well.

And yes, we are in Tampa. That's so weird! We are in an area called New Tampa. Where are you and XLT800?

Not sure on the number of suitcases as it's our first cruise. I was hoping for some guidance on these boards. I'm thinking three total for both DW and I, but she seems to think that six or seven might be more appropriate. I'm not sure what she's thinking. With that many suitcases she must be planning more costume changes than Cher during a marathon concert. If it was entirely up to me, I'd throw a few speedos into a backpack and be done with it. Oh, also a patch for pirate night and a bow-tie for Palo night!

They want you off the ship as quickly as possible. If you want to eat breakfast with your servers then you have an assigned time and they will usher you off the ship after breakfast. If you want to can go to Topsiders or whatever it is called on the Wonder and take your time. I think you have to be off the ship by 8:30 or 9:00am.

What's the only number that falls between a square and a cube?

What's the atomic number of the chemical element iron?

And what do they all have in common? That's right! They are all 26. And what's the significance of 26 today? Why it's the number of days left before the cruise, of course!

I'll probably regret asking this but, XLT, how did your fourth go? How was your speedo received by your party guests? I hope your fourth was safe as well and there were no incidents like neighbors scrambling to get out of the way of horizontal firework displays. My crazy neighbors were knocking over tubes and accidentaly sending fireworks flying down the street about four feet off the ground. Dave
:santa: :santa:

Ok, that's at least the second reference you've made to the paper chains. I'm starting to wonder if it isn't YOU that is obsessed with the chains. As for tchermom's and my excitement for counting down to the cruise, we are simply looking forward to the cruise and so we are counting down in creative ways. If we happen to learn something about the periodic table of elements along the way, so be it.
Now, at the risk of making this sound like a vocabulary class, there is a distinct difference between excitement and obsession. Excitement is the feeling of lively and cheerful joy such as that which tchrmom and I feel for the upcoming cruise. Obsession, on the other hand, is a persistent and recurring thought such as someone thinking about hot guys in speedos so much that they go out and do google image searches for them. :lmao: :lmao:

And along comes Grumpy! You need to loosen up your speedos there Grumpy. They've got you a little uptight. Sure, anybody can look at a calendar. But it takes a little imagination to think outside of the box. And being that this is a Disney board, I would think you would understand the importance of imagination! If anyone is running people off the thread, it's your 'Ha, Mush' attitude. It's Friday afternoon and nothing yet. So, unless we receive something this afternoon, it will have to be next week. The following week would be cutting it a little close don't you think? Sweet find there XLT. I have the white one that glows in the dark. Well, at least the radioactive elements like plutonium glow.

I'll proudly wear it if you wear this shirt on the same day!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

By reading some TR it sounds like the rat movie and the new Pirates (No tchrmom not that one):rotfl2: is playing.

Wow......I wonder how many days are left:confused3 . Senor goes out of town and the countdown stops. Wait I can look at tchrmom's countdown timer.........what a novel idea:rotfl:

Señor Psychopath is back and ready to resume the countdown despite XLT's objections. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: By the way, why are you afraid of others seeing what ends up in your camera there? You don't want others to see you loosening up your speedo and having fun?

4 days left!

What's that XLT? You're wondering if the number four has any significance? Well, I'm glad you asked because it's a good one.

How many seasons? 4
How many cardinal directions? 4
How many suites in playing cards? 4
How many tires on a car? 4
How many legs on a table? 4
How many US time zones? 4

I could go on and on and on. But will only point out one last relevant one:

How many parks at Wald Disney World? That's right, 4!

Time to start packing!!!!

Oh, I almost forgot. The element of the day is Beryllium! Atomic number 4!

Well you are almost correct on this one but there are actually 6......Had you posted 2 days ago you probably would have caught this. You forgot the 2 water parks!!

Hope you are feeling better.

Good bye until we start talking about Tricycles and triangles and unfortunitly you will miss the bicycle built for 2:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow has time flown by. I guess I am used to all the banter you get on a 7 day cruise thread but this has to be the weakest thread I have ever seen.

If any of the previous posters read this, I hope you have safe travels and a great cruise.

Senor.....you and DW (who never did post) drive safe and we will see you tomorrow around noonish.

Shari (DW) and Staci (DD) are already at WDW enjoying the heat and humidity - not. But I do think they are having fun anyway. I'm sure Shari will be happy to get on the ship and relax.
