I didn't see any other threads out there for this week. It'll be DW ( SCMinnie ) and DD who's 12. This'll be our third Disney cruise. We did the Eastern Carib back in January 2002 and a 3 day in October 2002.

There must be a lot of rooms available on the spring break cruise.

DD who will be 7 and I are going. This is our first cruise! I have seen two other threads for this cruise started but they never really took off.

I'm very excited! DD doesn't know yet, but she'll be excited too.

Cmsnyder,I can't believe your daughter doesn't know. Of course, it cuts down on the "When are we leaving questions?" Where in N Carolina do you live? We're just across the border from Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC.

She knows we'll go on a cruise "one day", but I haven't decided how long to keep it a surprise. I've lasted longer than I thought I would. I have read posts from others who have surprised their kids at the end, but I'm not sure if I could pull that off or if I even want to.

We live in Cramerton, just to the west of Charlotte, so we're close to you!

I have a friend who is lloking at going on this cruise, she said there are lots of rooms open, in every category. I'm kind of surprised as our last cruise was sold out...wonder whats up?

Is it because it goes over easter do you think and people want to be at home? Also I think it is more expensive because of the holidays

If you check the DCL website there are rooms available in every category. I think Disney maybe overpriced this cruise. It is more expensive because it is Easter or spring break. Disney like most everyone else jacks up the price when the kids are out of school because families can only travel when the kids are out of school. Maybe we'll get lucky and get an upgrade or a reduction in price. It can't hurt to dream.

The good news is the category 12 that we booked only show as gty rather than room numbers. I'm hoping this means we will get an upgrade. We are lucky in that the pound is getting stronger against the dollar so our cruise is getting a bit cheaper as we have to pay in dollars when we pay the rest in january. Hopefully it won't fall by then.

I was checking pricing on the DCL website last night and I saw where our Cat 10 had dropped $95. I contacted our Dreams Unlimited and they did drop our price that amount. Yeah!
Everyone else may want to do the same.

Hello all -

We just finalized our plans for this cruise. We've been on a few DCL cruises, but never over spring break. We're really looking forward to it. We're going to pull the kids from school a day early and stay at the Beach Club Thursday and Friday night.

It's me (DH), DW, DS (10) and DD (8).

Hopefully I'm posting on the right thread. I didn't see any other threads for this cruise. If there is another one, please let me know.

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

Ken

Welcome Ken,

I grew up in Cleveland. I went to Ignatius for H.S. and then Miami U. About 20 years ago I got tired of the snow and headed south.

Thanksgiving was good ... I had to work a 12 hr shift that night (I am a nurse). SCMinnie and Duckman, you are near me, so I guess you are having the warm weather like us, near 70degrees. It was pleasant weather for putting up my Christmas lights today! Everybody else ready for Christmas?

We have had so much rain here in England although it is still warm
I have only just started thinking about christmas - going shopping for some presents tomorrow.
I have got the rest of the family a disney share each from oneshare.com which I know they will love. I just hope it arrives in time - the shipping cost a fortune, almost as much as the share!!!

We had a warm weekend for putting up Christmas lights too. The rain is on the way today with cooler weather behind it.

scduckman and I are headed up to Cleveland this weekend due to a family emergency.

Hope everyone has a great weekend- see you next week!

Hope everyone had a good christmas and new year. Thought i would do this to take our cruise back to the top.
It's getting really exciting now I know we are going this year.
Does anyone know - Can I book trips etc 90 days out or is this just for people who have cruised before? I think i have to wait until 70 days - My DH bought me parascending for my birthday and I want to make sure i get it.

scduckman

I,m not certain but I believe it's 90 days out if you've sailed before and 75 days if you haven't. Dramaqueenuk did you mean parasailing?

dramaqueenuk
01-04-2007, 02:25 PM
Yes I did mean parasailing but I do fancy having a go at parascending aswell one day. I think it would be a bit more scary though.
How can I work out exactly when my 75 days comes. I know when I booked for restaurants at disneyworld there was a calculator thing somewhere. It's hard to work out when you are on different times.
