Hi.
Thinking of adding on a couple of nights to our DVC vacation in September. My "plan" is to book 2 nights at a WDW resorts using my AP discount. I figured I would just wait until the discounts were released to see which resorts were part of the AP discount and make my reservations at that time. That's reasonable, right? Also, I can add the dining plan on at that time too?
Final question: if this all plays out , and we have the dining plan for the AP discount room portion of the trip and the DVC portion of the trip, do they somehow combine it? Or would we have to deplete our CS, TS and snacks for the 2 night reservation, then restart the plan with the 5 night DVC reservation? I'm sorry to be so confusing.....I really should be cleaning my house but I got Disney on the brain. :3dglasses

DVC is the only "room only" option that allows you the dining plan, so you could not get it with the AP part of the stay. You would need to use your credits by midnight of the DVC check out date.

If you are buying plane tickets, I would suggest booking a room you are comfortable paying cash for to guarantee you have a place to stay. Then if/when the AP rates come out, the saving would be a bonus or you could upgrade.

Ohhhhhh. Good information about the dining plan, thank you.
Another room ressie question though...Are the AP room discounts specific to resorts/categories of resorts/ or one never knows... I ask because as two adults with alot of flexibility, I'd hate to book at a resort that doesn't end up with a discount. Ya know?

The AP rates are based on availability. I am DVC and AP too. It is just DD10 and I, so lots of flexibility too. Having a regular ressie does not guarantee you the AP rate. I book something I can live with location and price wise. Than when/if AP comes out, I switch to better price/resort. I am always afraid to have plane tickets to NJ and no where to stay for part of my trip

You're absolutely right. But for the husband and I, if the meal plan can't be added to a room only AP rate, I may do better at an offsite for those two days. Offsite is easier for me to digest when I know I'll be following it with 6 days at Beach Club.
But thanks for all the info. Have a "Disney" day
