I need a room only code for Jan. 2007 for the general public. :goodvibes Has anyone gotten one? Do you think they will put one out? :listen:
Thank you! princess:
I'm looking for the same thing, but I've booked a DTD hotel at a good rate just in case room only codes don't happen for my trip. At this point I'd be surprised to get something for my time frame...Jan. 1 to 7. :confused3 We'll see!

I need a code too lol! in 2005 the room only gen. public came out the end of october so I am growing more restless and hopeless waiting for one. Can I ask a quest. about the DTD hotel a pp posted? which one and is the price you got better than a value resort? also can you take advantage of extra magic hours? thanks

Do any of you know what the price was for those who got an e-mail? I'm just wondering if it was much more than the AAA discount. I have been checking my e-mail, but I haven't gotten anything yet.. keeping my fingers crossed, though.

I asked a central reservations agent if there were any room only codes for the general public for January 2007 and she gave me the code of BJN, but when she put it into the system there was no availability for the time that i will be there.
Hopefully someone else can try it and it will work for you.
Let me know if you find out anything!

Why do you need a rack rate code.......when you can book a rack rate without the code??
Silly reservations agent got my hopes wayyyy up...

That's what I thought too. We also had a pin code(Usually I would be jumping for joy at this), but believe it or not, the pin code rate was higher than my AAA rate. The very nice cm said that they have been having problems with their computers today and to call again with this code. If anyone else received a pin can you tell me the rates you were quoted. I was quoted $124 for POR. I'm lost!! :confused3
Hi Rebecca...the hotel I booked at DTD was the DoubleTree Suites. I will not be eligible for EMH staying at this hotel, but my strategy during busy times is to avoid EMH parks anyway. We may have 6 people (probably only 4, though)on this trip, so I would need 2 value room. We are traveling Jan.1 to Jan.7. I got the suite for about 160. a night with an AARP discount, and all of us can stay in the one suite. I would prefer a Disney resort, but I've stayed at DTD before and liked it.
I called Disney today to check rates and availability for my time frame. The only availability on site was almost $300 a night at Saratoga Springs. (I only inquired about a room for 4.) The agent did say to check back frequently as some of the marathoners may be canceling their rooms as the race gets closer.

With tax we have the Port Orleans French Qtr. water view room at $180.00 a night. We do not have any discounts but I made the reservation back a few weeks ago. I was getting nervous about availabilty & all. We're going Jan 21-27. It will be our first trip ever to Disney. :cool1: I was hoping for a code so that we would have souviner money. Looks like pictures will just have to do! LOL

Just get an anual pass as one of your tickets. You will get 10 to 20 percent off your room. Then you can pay 60 bucks and get 20 percent off all your meals. Youll save more overall.

That is a great idea! However, we purchased our tickets a few years ago. Our trip was canceled but the tickets did not have expiration dates so we're hoping they will be fine for our trip.

When I called the other day I already had a AAA room on hold at the Poly. I inquired an Annual Pass Discount might be worth it. It turns out, at least for my dates, the AAA & Anual pass rates are almost equal.

I already have tickets also....my mother bought our entire family passes to disney world.
I'd love for a room only code also. I did not get the email that a few of you were talking about...I did however get one for Disneyland...but that does me no good.
My dad ended up with a pin code attached to his name.....
Why am I so unlucky?

Oh well...no souviners for my family! And it looks like we'll have only 1 or 2 table service meals. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

One year this happened to me. We booked 2 rooms, requested to be linked with linked reservations so both rooms had the discount. At the last minute everyone else backed out. When I called to cancel the res of the person with the pin code and explained the situation I was permitted to keep the discount as long as I brought along the card.
I know its a long shot and I was probably just very lucky to have a very nice CM but I thought I'd mention it just in case.
PS, I don't remember if I made the original reservations (very likely) or the person with the pin made them. Whomever makes the reservation has to be the one to change them but you can put 2 names with equal rights if you ask at booking. I usually do it this way because all deposits are made from my credit card regardless of who joins us so I also need to be able to cancel if necessary.

I hate to sound negative also, but you do know that there were hardly any room only codes released this year. Room only codes seem to be slim and none and no one should ever book a trip hoping to get one. This is also true with AP discounts. I've seen too many times where there were no AP discounts too. For example, June and July there were no AP discounts on value or moderate resorts, and later in the summer only a few discounts on EPCOT resorts. I've been an AP holder for over 10 years and the room only discounts are never guaranteed, and if they don't release AP discounts, they never release public codes. I personnally think there will be room only codes for Jan/Feb as there was last year, but one thing about Disney, is that the release of discounts is always uncertain. Unless you want to go on vacation with a black cloud over your head, move on and plan your vacation and if a code comes out great, but if not, you need to remember this for the next time you plan a trip--don't count on a code coming out. Here's wishing you some pixie dust for a great vacation with or without a code! pixiedust:

The violin is so funny. Thanks for making me smile. :thumbsup2
I found an amazing deal flying out of Newark and into MCO which saved me the $240 I had been hoping to save in codes so I went for it. I STILL hope that WDW will put out some codes for those of us who bought tons of Hoppers in advance. BUT, even if they don't give discounts I'm still going to see the 'other man' in my life...Mickey
I don't get it. Why do Co's like WDW and Universal penalize people who buy in advance. I used to have a Universal 2 park annual pass but let it lapse because all their hotel deals allowed for free tickets which saved me zip. Now, I don't think I'll ever pre-purchase WDW tickets again because I can't take advantage of any deals because I'm holding my tickets. I would think WDW wiould want people to buy in advance because that is a huge incentive to return the following year. Penny wise - Pound foolish.

I think these folks are waiting/hoping for a room only code for the general public. There hasn't been very many of them released in 2006 (or any?? -- mostly only packages for the general public now). I agree, the AP discount for room only has been around for awhile because I have one for Feb. 3rd at Pop for $59 a night that I booked on the day the AP discounts were released.

I have a feeling that they are moving away from room only codes and trying to lure people in with free dining and such instead.. Hopefully that's not the case - because not all people are interested in it..

I'm having a tough time getting the night I want on an AP rate, so I think room only codes are a real long shot at this point. I don't know what the deal is, whether they're truly booked solid or they have rooms blocked for events.
Its very slim pickins even at rack rate for Jan. 13th. I guess I shouldn't have put off booking so long!

This will be our fifth trip in the Jan/Feb. time period. I pack half our clothes warm weather with shorts and short sleeves and half for cooler weather that we can layer. I usually use a little of both types of clothes. Now last year we had incredible weather and we ONLY used our summer clothes even for nights! But that was the exception be prepared for all types of weather.
This is our fourth year in a row going late January or early February and warm clothes are a must. You might get a warm day, but generally it only gets warm during the afternoon while the sun is out. In the AM and esp. evening....it can get cold. Last year we had a couple of days of sun, but the year before I had to do laundry because we were running out of sweats to wear. I now pack my gloves and hat for the evening and have been glad I do. We will be there the first week of Feb this year and have an idea of what I'll be packing but will wait until I see the 15 day forecast first and be prepared to switch out at the end. No matter what the weather, it will still be warmer than home. I agree, layers are a must so you can peal some off, then put them back when the sun goes down.

Thanks for the posts. I will definitely be packing with layers in mind. I checked the weather report this morning & now they are saying high 76 / low 59 for the 21st of Jan. & high 82 / low 59 for the 22nd of Jan.. Sounds great to me!! :goodvibes
This is my first trip ever to Disney & I am so EXCITED!! After spending the past year researching & planning I hope I am not building it up too much.

You do know this will change many, many times before 1/19 arrives. I've seen it change several times in one day, sometimes better, sometimes worse. I have added and removed clothes in my suitcase the night before leaving many times. It only takes a cold wave to hit the East Coast and FL will feel it too. This time of year is a very challenging time in term of packing. However, when packing for our August trip, it's never a problem, just short and tops and rain gear.
