we only saved $55 with the new code. We already had hopping on the tickets, so I was expecting about an $80 savings for 2 adults. I dont understand how some people are saving hundreds :confused3 . We are booked through AAA so that probably has something to do with it, but I thought the AAA was only on the room, not the whole package. We were booked 7 nights with 8 day hoppers and ddp for 1,599, now its 1545 and we get the water parks. I am very happy to be saving any money at all, I just dont understand how some people are saving significantly more than others.

The only discount you get through AAA is the room, everything else is the same cost as if purchased through WDW. Also, the percentage discount for room is different depending on the season (value, peak, etc) and the level of resort.

I booked with AAA for 6 nights at POFQ 2/14/07 - 2/20/07 AT VALUE SEASON RATE WITH 2 DAYS TICKETS (FREE PARK HOPPER & WATER PARKS)...TOTAL COST OF 1,270.71.

IF I HAD BOOKED W/O AAA ROOM DISCOUNT, THE PRICE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 1,380.60 (PER WDW ONLINE QUOTE W/O PARK HOPPER & WATERPARKS SELECTED). MY DIFFERENCE IS ONLY ABOUT $100, BUT IT IS CHEAPER.

HAD I PURCHASED THE PACKAGE ONLINE THROUGH WDW WITHOUT ANY DISCOUNTS (INCLUDING THE FREE PARK HOPPER AND WATERPARKS ADDON) THE COST WOULD HAVE BEEN 1,684.16!!!

Our package through AAA (before codes)

2 Adults, 1 (2 year old)
1/15/07 - 1/23/07 8 nights at POR w/King
8 day tickets
PH/WP
DDP
no insurance for $2395.88

after AAA code it was $2328.74 a savings of $67.14

This is the exact same price I got from WDW using code ZCL

So it doesn't matter if you use AAA or not.

We had a package thru AAA for 5 nights in January at CB with dining and basic tickets. My agent called and had them upgrade the tickets to PH and we ended up paying $50.00 more. :confused3 Still don't know why it cost more if the upgrade was free???

It probably depends on what resort, how long of a stay and how many people in your party. I was quoted 1548 for 2 adults and 2 children (10 and 11) for 7 nights at POP with 7 day water park and hopper ticket. I figured without the code it was around 1844 so that's a savings of 296.

All I have to say is :badpc:  . I tried to book the new codes or any code for that matter and it was still cheaper for us to book directly on the website. Go figure. I even tried 2 travel agents with one being Dreams and was quoted higher. WHERE ARE THE DISCOUNTS :confused3 ? I am hoping for something. I would like to at least save $300. Are you guys as disappointed as we are? :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I dont have AAA but when I called to add the code they quoted me more then the original cost. I told them that wasn't right and had them recheck it. Come to find out every time we modify our ressies the computer is automatically adding the ins even though I didn't want it. They corrected it and I saved about $120.oo plus got the upgraded tickets. So maybe have your TA check on that.

I booked my package with AAA for 10 days/9 nights at POFQ, 10 day park hopper passes and the dining plan. The total with the AAA discount was $1,900 (approximately $200 less than booking directly through WDWTC. A few months ago a discount code came out that my AAA agent was able to get, bringing my total down to $1,600. I did have to switch resorts, as POFQ was not available. To save $300, no problem. When the latest code came out in early October, my AAA TA was able to get that discount. It did not save me any more $$, BUT it did allow me to change back to POFQ, which is where I wanted to stay all along.

We booked the following back in February with AAA
2/20/07-2/25/07
2Ad, 2-12 yr old, 1-5 yr old
POR
5 day park hopper
no dining or insurance
$2164.00 (this was approx. a $126.00 savings over WDW)

Called AAA and told them to get the code applied
Everything is the same with the exeception that we are now getting 6 day park hopper passes w/water parks
$1964

So we saved $200.00 plus we get an extra day in the park and since we planned to go to Disney Quest I saved another $200 in admission there.

I saved a bundle yesterday with the code ZCL added to an existing reservation. The CM I talked to asked me if we had booked with insurance originally and I said no. I think they should at least ask and not just add it automatically.

I have reservations for Fort Wilderness campground Jan. 16- Mar.1, 07. I have obsessively watched and waited for discounts to come out......AAA, visa, and now ap. Unfortunately none have been available for FW. Yes, I have called back many times checking to see if something opened up. I was told this is do to the fact that the campground has the highest rate of all the resorts being full. We stay at FW in our RV because we love it there and are able to have our pets stay with us. So....switching to another resort is not an option. With the current discounts value resorts are less expensive than the campground!! :confused3 To all of you able to get a discount; no matter how small; celebrate!! Some of us are going and paying rack rate .

I would also like to add to this that if you booked your package before the last ticket price increase and then try to book the new package, you will be charged the new ticket prices so the savings may not be that much.

When I calculated I figured our CAA room only discount at POFQ was about a 20% discount and the discount on the room with code worked out to be a 15% discount.

One question, there are 2adults and 2children going. I have saved enough airmiles to get two free 5 day passes through airmiles so only need two passes. The CM told me that I have to purchase passes for all 4 people staying in the room in order to qualify for the discount. Is this true? If it is, we're better off getting the CAA room only discount, and our two free airmiles passes and just purchase the other two from a ticket broker. Kim

Kim,

Whenever you book a package, especially a discounted one, everyone in the room must be on the same package. So everyone has to have the same type of ticket media. I can suggest getting everyone a 1-day base ticket with the package and then buying whatever extra you need from a broker, or just updating the tickets when you arrive at Disney.

The $1,120.46 quote does not include the child park tickets. It is based on 2 adults. I appreciate the PD though. This prompted me to check the Disney website and found I could save $32 by canceling my AAA ressie and booking through WDW Travel. I am going to contact my AAA TA today.

In the end, I did not save anything by booking through AAA for the park hopper and waterparks and more promotion. Disney said it was either or, but not both. I could have booked a package with the AAA room discount which would have been $1,182 (without park hopping or water parks and more), but I would have not received the free add-on promotion. So, I booked the package with the add-on promotion for about $57 more (same price as WDW Travel).

That would have been a tough call for me. We do not hop. We go to the parks for 7-8 days so we have plenty of days if we get tired of one park we take the afternoon off. We also have yet to go to the water parks and we dont much care to but hey for $57 the option would be there....I'm just excited for you. We also do the dining plan. But as I was pricing my package for next december without dining it was still 300 more than what you are paying and we will stay at the ASMO. Yes I have one more kid, but his ticket cost less than 200 and we are staying at a lesser resort in value season as well. I'm so jealous. Hopefully something cool will come up for me. Of course if nothing else I can always get my AAA discount and save $13 a night, less than 100.

I doubt we will go to the waterparks..it is February and weather is usually, but not always, still COLD. I mainly upgraded the option for the park hopping and to try out Disney Quest. I figured those two alone were worth the $57. I am sure my 9 yo daughter will love Disney Quest. Ever been? We in Orlando for an event outside Disney, which will probably take up a whole day so I figured with that, Disney quest, and P&P party I only really needed 2 days worth of tickets. I might buy one more, but still undecided. Our newest addition of 8 months will be going as well so I think more than two days of parks will be too much

We went to Disney Quest once and HATED it but not because anything was wrong with it but we had a 2 and 4 year old with us. They will be 6 and 8 (turning 7 and almost 9) on our next trip and I probably still wont go even though they would be able to have fun. Kind of like the water parks, I want to wait until they are old enough that I can let them get 2 feet from me before I go. It's kind of a hard place to stay together and way too busy not to with children. It probably would be just fine our next trip but I just want to wait. Most of the attractions are geared to probably kids atleast 8 - the Buzz Lightyear thing I think had a height restriction of like 54 inches (had to be atleast that tall). The things that were geared to younger children were still too difficult for them to enjoy. We are glad we tried it out, hey we had an incredible ticket deal 2 days old tickets that allowed hopping + disneyquest for $90. I hope your daughter has fun. let me know so I can consider if I want to do it if free upgrades come when I go.
