Back in in 2002 & 2003 DCL used to play a Disney version of Ricky Martin's "Living La Vida Loca" at the sailaway and deck parties (I believe they changed the lyrics to reference Minnie Mouse - it was cute). On our cruise in 2003 DH was video taping from our verandah the Magic pulling out of Cozumel. This was before DCL started pirate night so the ship was celebrating "Mexican" night and there was a Mexican party up on deck 9 above us. They started off the party with "Living La Vida Loca".

I still think of those cruises everytime I hear that song.

:rotfl2: That is so funny. I never knew the name of the song - Follow the Leader. (Which, duh, of course that's the name but I didn't realize it was an actual song you could get somewhere. I must be a little dense.)

Anyway, when my boyfriend and I cruised a couple years ago we couldn't figure out what they were saying. It sounded like I love soda. Or I love sofa? Which I changed to I love my sofa. And that's the way I always sang it.

So I just googled for the lyrics now that I realized it's an actual song that is in mainstream release. They're saying I love Soca! The band's name is Soca Boys.

Mystery solved.

Though if I go on another cruise I will still sing it as I love my sofa. :lmao:
