HELP - 2 Singles or a Double Stroller - Leaving Tomorrow!!

We are leaving tomorrow morning :yay: and I still have not decided what to do with the strollers. I have an almost 3 year old daughter and a 5 1/2 month old son. My daughter likes to walk but I know she will get tired at the parks. My baby likes to be in the Baby Carrier vs. the stroller. I bought a fairly compact double stroller but it is no where near as easy to push as the single and folds up much bigger. And, when we go to the restaurants, the baby will have to sit in the stroller as he is not quite strong enough to sit up in a high chair so if I bring the double, I will have to bring that to the restaurants. I am leaning towards bringing 2 singles and the baby carrier at this point and if we need two strollers we have them and if we only need one, we can leave one in the room. But...that leaves us with 2 strollers to get on and off the buses....

Does anyone have any last minute advice on what might be better????

When my ds was 7 mos and my dd was 2.5 we went to Disneyland. We took one stroller that had a step on the back. I carried my ds in my mei tai about 95% of the time. It's what we both prefered. My dd sat in the stroller. When I just couldn't carry him anymore, he spent a bit of time in the stroller and my dd walked, my dh carried her or she jumped on the back of the stroller. It worked perfectly for us. Since your baby is so young and prefers that baby carrier, I'd skip the double, take the single.

I would use the double stroller. It will be easier if one person is watching the kids while the other goes to the bathroom or get a drink. That way, if you have to move locations by yourself, you will be able to do it alot faster. I have twins and it is easier with one stroller.

I have to admit that it is so WORTH using Disney strollers for the parks. I always have put it in my budget and last time we went(Feb 2005) they had a special where if you knew the amount of days you needed a stroller you got a discounted rate(about $65 for 5 days), plus got my disney dollars at the end of each day, too. I would use that for the parks(bring the carriers, rent a double stroller) and for things at the hotel and outside the parks, use your own. It is truly not worth dragging your onto busses and monorails-just my 2 cents...

We went back and forth with this for our last trip. We have a 12 month old and a 4 year old. We opted for two strollers. It worked out very nice. We took our regular stroller and an umbrella stroller. The umbrella was for the 4 year old. When she wasn't using it we folded it up and stuck it in the basket of the other stroller. It worked out very nice! It was very easy to carry the umbrella stroller and one child onto the bus.

I would have LOVED to have had the double but I knew it would have been an absolute PAIN on the busses. That is the only reason we didn't take it.

We preferred using 2 singles since they were easier to push and get around in the crowds, but it is a personal preference. My double was big and bulky and I hated it.

BTW, one poster mentioned the rentals and they are WONDERFUL for OLDER kids, but I would never used one for an infant. They are hard molded plastic.

Well the great double single debate rises yet again. I was deciding what to do and we took a small day trip to Hershey with 2 strollers- and for us it was a nightmare- Mostly because we would forget where we left one of the strollers- or dh would forget that he was supposed to be pushing a stroller or nobody would want to sit in the strollers and you would be holding and pushing 2 strollers.... And folding up and loading onto buses or boats whatever- would be much much easier with one stroller. I vote DOUBLE STROLLER!!:cheer2:

This probably quite true since I haven't brought an infant to WDW! I would probably still rent and bring a carrier (and mostly use that) and a blanky,etc to cuddle them up in it if I had too, but I am not sure since i have never done that-i just think it'd be a nightmare carrying any kind of stroller on and off busses and monorails, but i guess they are going a good not so crowded week! We always go off season when the crowds are medium to low and I NEVER would have even thought of renting a stroller when i had my own, except that on my DD9 MAW trip, Disney gave them to us every day and from then on I swear by them and fit it in to my budget, which by the way, is very modest when we go! Hope they have blast!

no go on the rentals with an infant by the way. First off the low ones would frighten me to just wedge a baby in there with blankets- The Jogging ones- would not hold a carseat at all. One more thing I wanted to mention- what about a carrier-A whole day in the carseat would be tough on the 5 month old. We did quite well the year we used the carrier- also easier when you are standing in line.....

We brought our massive double jogger from Canada and hauling it to WDW (in car, on plane, to rental, in parks)was sooo worth it! The park strollers are hard and my kids were very comfy in their stroller, I put the baby in the bjorn for most of my meals. Also, why be responsible for 2 strollers, much easier to push one. I vote for the double. Have fun!

We went in Sept 06 with a 4 and 2 yo. And I debated using the double or 2 singles. We ended up bringing 2 singles, 1 Maclearan and 1 cheapie $20 stroller from BabiesRUs. DS used his Mac and DD used the cheapie only when she got tired. When she wasn't in the stroller, we used it to haul the backpack, water bottles, etc. I would not want to haul a double in and out of the buses and monorails.

we have taken a larger 2 seater for the past 2 trips, it worked out fairly well, we only had to fold it up on the bus trams, and once on the monarail, other then that we didn't need to, we always drove ourselfs never used disney busses, so that made a diffance, we took a 12 month old, 3 year old and a 5 year old that liked to rest... i carried dd in a carrier about 50% of the time at 12 months, how much do you carry your 5 month old in a carrier now??? if it's more then 5 hours a day i would take the carrier and take only one singel stroller...

I'd take the double, if it folds compact enough. I have a Maclaren Techno and it folds quickly and pretty compact.

Another option, if you had the time to pick one up, is a Sit 'n Stand stroller. We borrowed our neighbors and loved it!! DD 2.5 rode in it most of the time. DS 6.5 loved the idea of hopping on and going for a ride, especially if we needed to move quickly!

But, I was also involved in the Double Stroller Swap and that worked well also. We switched strollers throughout the trip. That one actually folded easier and could hold more stuff! Please take a minute and check into it. I think this week was actually available and maybe you can find out where the stroller was left and pick it up!

Maybe they weren't looking for a cones/rods type answer for how we see color. Perhaps the teacher wanted to hear about how red objects appear red because of the wavelengths of light that they reflect.

How about two single umbrella strollers along with stroller connectors? That way you can connect them if you want a double, or divide them if you want to split up.

Did you find that there was a shortage of the rentals for doubles? I would hate to not bring my double and hope that they will have enough for rentals at each park. I have no idea how the rentals work at WDW, if it has to be from park to park or get one double to go through the whole park with one type of stroller? Thanks. One month to go and I'm trying to plan well.
