This rental car thing at WDW is gonna be a first. So if yall would, I have a few questions I would appreciate very much if yall could answer. :)
I know there are some stations (Exxon I believe) near DD, is there anyplace better to fill up?
On the way back to the airport, are theyre any better places to fill up to qualify for the full tank you need to return it with?
I was thinking of going the south exit route from the airport and traveling back the same way too the airport.
ANY suggestions would be wonderful to make this experience easier.
Thank you :)

We filled up on 192 at a Citgo at the foot of International Drive. Came out of ASMO on Osceola Parkway. Turned right on International Drive at the new Opryland Hotel. At the stop light for 192 drive right across into the gas station. Came out of station and turned left onto 192 heading back towards Disney. Lots of Signs to guide you onto 417 (Greenway) only a block away, then straight onto the airport. Did this just last Saturday. We were familiar with the area because we had spent some of our stay off-site at the Holiday Inn Main Gate East just down the road on 192. Only took us a few extra minutes.

Another option is to pre-pay the tank when you rent. In general, this is only worth it though if you bring the car back with less than 1/4 of a tank. On the plus side, you don't have to worry about trying to find a gas station before drop-off at the airport (though my memory says there are at least a few convenient options).

If you're renting from Alamo, there's a station right off the exit you get off at the airport to return the car to them. We Always fill up right there. Don't know if that's as convenient for any of the other companies, though.

What rental company are you using? National does not require a receipt. I always fill up at the Boardwalk or Magic Kingdom Exxon and have never been charged for gas when returning the car, it's always still on full. National also now has a special deal for EC members, they will fill it at local prices when you return it.

There is a 7/11 right before you go on the toll road (417, I think?)

hess and racetrac usually have good prices....
there are also some good prices along orange blossom trail just off the beeline....
the prices the rental companies post .....never quite jive with what is really available locally....as we drive we usually check out "prices" and make mental notes...
recently, at baltimore........national was saying local prices were 1.49$ and refueling charge was 4.69$...
we found a place right away near the airport of 1.25$ but looking around we found it for 1.09$.....so it pays to "look" as you drive at gas prices.....

As per lucy storms post, we also go to the 7-11 just before the toll road. Quick and easy. We also buy munchies for the airport there, cheaper than airport prices.

If you happen to return to the airport via I-4 to 528 (the Bee Line), you may get off at Exit 9(Tradeport), cross under, and there is a somewhat less expensive gas station there, it is within the distance almost all the rental companies expect if they expect you to show a gas receipt. From there, don't cross back under to get back on the Bee Line east, instead take McCoy road which parallels the Bee Line in full view of same, the Payless car rental station is right there, or continue on McCoy, becomes Frontage Rd. to Semoran which becomes the north entrance to the airport.
Buying the first tankful of gas may be convenient but it is never cheapest; you can't return the car empty enough to get a cost advantage without fear of running out of gas.
