Ok stupid question no.2 and many more to come. Recently when we stayed at POP we had met alot of DIS'ers. SOme we know and had the same check in dates and the others... we found there window decorations. Does this happen in the DVC world or it gets a bit up'pitee ( which I hope not :confused3 )

I loved all the recent Pop'pers we met, we're like really good buddies now even after the trip.... :love: and plans to have a reunion trip...

Yes and he was somewhat "uppity". I'm still upset that he didn't invite me to have some of that steak he was grilling by the pool.;)

Yes. There are very nice charcoal grills by the pools (at least at the BCV and BWV I'm sure of the location).

Tell me when you are going. Nothing like Bar-B-Q. Especially when cooked by someone else!;)

I will sure will! That is one thing I miss when on vacation at the Promised Land be bale to BBQ since we only stay at the regular resorts... have not seen any grills unless it is at the food court :woohoo:

Kathleena and I planned to meet, we were each traveling with a youngster and it made for some great times!
Last year we met the people who were getting the Christmas tree after us. I hated to give it up and go back home, but it was going to a very nice family!

Nope :sad2: . In fact, on our last trip, I noticed a woman wearing a lime green shirt (this was at BWV), so I approached her and nicely asked her if she was a Dis-er. Almost got my head bitten off...........she acted as if I had cursed her! I lamely tried to explain the Disboards and the forums, which then caused her to look at me as if I were crazy :eek: !
After that, although I saw many, many folks wearing lime green, I stayed away! :sad2:

I've met a couple at HHI, only one at BWV (Hi :wave: Kathleena) that I remember. I don't remember meeting any at BCV, VWL, or SSR. At OKW, although I didn't meet any, someone recognized my LGMH and pointed to his. But he was in a line getting on a bus, so unfortunately we didn't talk and I didn't see him again. Any others were prearranged. I'd love to meet more, but I think they're all hiding from me! I hardly ever see any LGMHs at WDW.

I have never met another Dis'er on our vacations.

I hope to in January as I will be staying at the BW with some "other" Dis people the same week (you know who you are and why I put " " around other ;) )

I have seen some lime green but have been to shy to approach.

I've been on the lookout our last few trips for anything lime green (as a matter of fact, I made sure DH and I both had several lime green items to wear during the week, but no one approached us either). I actually made note of several Dis'ers who were scheduled to be there the same week (10/14 thru 10/20/06), but, didn't run into anyone. We're going again 1/13 thru 1/20/07........anyone going to be there that week.....maybe we should actually plan to have a Dis meet????

We met magicalmcwho last Dec. at VWL. In fact, we were 2 doors down from him. He and his family are very nice. They invited us in to see their tree that they were donating. Looking forward to seeing them again this Dec.

The most memorable chance encounter was with WebMasterDoc. We were coming out of seeing Voices of Liberty at America in Epcot when he and his DW were coming through the turnstiles at the same time. I had on my LG DIS shirt and he asked my tag name. Then I was caught by surprise when he told me his! So it pays to wear something LG, but make sure it has the DIS on it. Lots of people wearing LG in WDW, just not sure who is a DISer or not.

We have made close friends with DISer annieT and her DH. Wouldnt have met without the DIS.

Met Dan Murphy, dianeschlit, Deb & Bill at specified DIS meets along with many others. This is a good way to meet other DISers. I suggest to start a thread about meeting other DVC-DISers here on a day during your trip in a safe place. Set a 2 hr span that folks can float in and out and somewhere specific to a DVC resort. We met some folks at the Iron Spike Room back in Jan at VWL. Good way to make DIS friends. And a lot of fun. Meeting DISers is always fun. Common ground, we all love Disney!

P.S. - Donna, we were there at the same time as you in October as well, and now we almost exactly match up in January - freaky weird! Great minds think alike, apparently.

We're at BWV January 1-8.

I have never met another DISer while in the World. During our last stay at Pop the door next to ours was covered in lime green Mickey heads and signs that said disboards.com. I knocked on their door every time I was around but either they weren't there or they were ignoring me! :rotfl:

Two years ago we were on the boat to DD from OKW and we talked to a friend of Tom from the Timeshare Store. He told us about the Dis and how he bought most of his points from Tom. I had been on the Dis for a short amount of time before we went on vacation. Mostly lurking. It really helped me know how to plan my vacation at OKW for the first time. This gentleman made me feel real confident about the Dis so much that when we got back we bought 300 add-on points at OKW.

I'm jealous of those January dates! I don't have any trips in the works right now and it's driving me crazy. I promised my family we would go somewhere besides WDW for our next vacation, but honestly...there's no where else I'd rather go. :sad2:

Yes, we usually meet a DISer or two on each trip. Of course, part of that is facilitated by my little "DIS/DVC" meets I plan each time I go. Anyone going the begining of December, be sure to check us out on the 10th!

The first DISsers I met were our own Webmasterdoc, Caskbill and DVCJohn! Since then, I have met quite a few of you. I find it difficult to see folks in the parks, but the buses and resorts are easier to spot them. Often, I'll wear my green Mickey head or a ribbon and the only ones who ask about them are the cast members! If you see my lime green Mickey head, don't be afraid to approach! I LOVE to talk! I do forget to put it on sometimes though. In that case, I'll be incognito, and looking for YOUR lime green! ;)

I have never mat a fellow diser. I got brave and asked someone with a green disney shirt once and they looked at me like I have 3 heads. Maybe this trip will be different. Staying at my home SSR for the first time maybe I will make something for window.

Dont think many people go to the lenghts of chat rooms about disney, probablya tiny minority of people who go to disney look here, probably a higher percentage at DVC resorts will have passed this way :thumbsup2

As mentioned before, I planned a meet with Bobbiwoz and met Simba's Mom in the BWV lobby. :wave2: I've met a few others also and just met Webmasterdoc this last trip.

As for uppity, well, as you can see, I'm not hoity-toity, so I'm definately not uppity as I think uppity ranks higher than hoity-toity. :goodvibes

I was thinking more about this, and Otimon, a CM at Epcot recognized my lime green Mickey, and we chatted. She's a greeter and a good one, made us feel welcomed and special, that's for sure. I've met a fair number of Disers on buses. People see my camera case with the lime green Mickey, and with time on our hand, more conversations just seem to happen.

We're going to be at BWV from the 15th to the 20th (December). If someone reading this will be there then, we could check our schedules, who knows maybe we have Fantasmic, (Friday) or the CP (Saturday, the late show) scheduled for the same nights.

Hello Denise! It was great to meet a fellow Diser. Our trip was too short too, but we did win Dream Fastpasses 10/17 at Epcot on Soarin. That was very exciting!

I think your daughter or neice is in some the pictures my husband took during dinner at O'Hana. I will look again and can email you a copy if you like.

We are excited about our first cruise, and are hoping to try out the VWL afterwards. My girls can not quit talking about the cruise.
