all DS hard work has paid off he has qualified to take part in the 2007 British Swimming Championships, he will be competing at the same event as Olympic Swimmers, this is a dream come true for a boy of 15, and after his illness last week, which he is still recovering from this has been a real boost for him. Although he has only qulaified for one event at the moment he has until 1st March next year to improve this time and get more times. He is so excited, even more so than his 15th Birthday next Saturday.

The down side is that this event is held during term time and is in Manchester, nearer the time I will write to his school and hope that they will let him compete and I think as I work in a school I will just have to take a sickie!!!!

Wow - a great achievement! It always amazes me how much hard work goes into getting as far as your son has - whilst we are all struggling to get up in the morning, these teens (and younger) have been pounding up and down pools swimmimg huge distances in the early hours, then go to school for the day!
