I'll be there with you!! Along with my DH, DS11, DS8 and my DSIS. DH and I are celebrating our 15 yr anniv. There were some other people from an earlier thread I started but that's way in the past. I keep trying not to think about it because it's WAY to far away yet.

I cruised for the first time with my DSIS this summer - LOVED IT!!! I really hope that DH and the kids love it as much as I did so we can start doing more of them. I have a countdown on my calendar (along with a countdown for when the kids get out of school) sadly both numbers are WAY too BIG!! From your tickers I'm guessing this is your honeymoon? Congratulations!!

01-04-2007, 12:48 PM
yep, honeymoon, thanks. we have been together for something like 14 years. finally taking the plunge. what is more exciting for me is the fact the kids are not going...just us!!:woohoo: :woohoo:
we are getting married on the Friday, yes Friday the 13th, then driving straight to Florida for the Sunday. We are coming from Ontario Canada.

That'll be a LONG drive. Our kids are coming but that's what my DSis is for. We have 2 rooms so she'll be with them in one and we'll have the other.

They are getting old enough though (at least the oldest) that he'd rather spend less time with me anyway. I'm sure some days he'd make me invisible if he could.

We are leaving right after our reception, about 10pm and driving straight through. We are planning on grabbing a room somewhere in Florida sometime Saturday night. Hope we dont miss the boat...LOL:lmao:
Its a push, but we have done it before when we were racing down there a few years ago.
I believe we are a cat 7, outside with nav. ver.

We have 2 connecting cat. 8's, "deluxe stateroom with window". I loved having a balcony this summer but with the kids we thought it might be wiser to just have the windows.

I bet you'll have a LOT of caffeine with you if you're driving straight through like that. You'll probably be too excited to sleep much so you might make the boat but miss the cruise cause you'll be passed out sleeping on a lounge chair. LOL

Thats the idea.......:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
As long as I stop somewhere for a power snooze and a shower, I am good to go. Oh yeah, and some food. Truck stops are wonderful things...LOL

Thank you for saying that. And thank you for your post on the main board. Clarke will be very much missed. For those others on this thread: My DD Clarke passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Feb. 25th, 2007. She was so looking forward to this cruise. We have decided that in Clarke's memory that we will keep the cruise date and take Clarke's devoted aunt. Clarke always said that she wished her Aunt could see all the wonderful things about DCL. I will see the Hercules show in honor of my DD.(sorry, had to stop typiing to cry) Thanks everyone for all the hugs, kisses and pixie dust

That is the best way to honor her. Go on the cruise that she loved so much. Like I said prior, she will be in our thoughts through out the cruise.

Hi,
The days are getting longer and the waiting time for the cruise is getting shorter. Have you found anyone else coming? It looks like a lonely cruise. Oh well, more pool for us!

Does anyone have any tips for a first time cruise? I heard that you need a bottle of suntan lotion a day.

See you soon!
Mary

Has anyone started a room number thread? Is there going to be a Dis meet? Can;t promise we will make it to any. Emotions are still running high for this trip. I can't think of any ideas for a door sign to remember Clarke.

nokidz

no room number thread yet. No DIS meet either, not too many DIS'ers by the looks of it.
We are in stateroom 6636.

Hey NOKIDZ, maybe it will just be us. Unfornunately we will be traveling with "no kids" either. Seems really weird without my baby Clarke. We will be in 6560. I am looking forward going to the adult beach on Castaway Cay. Clarke never would let us leave her to go check it out.
I am trying to find some tasteful way to decorate our door to honor the life of DCL Diser. We would probably miss any dis meets as we will be coming from the AKL resort. I also want to find out if we get a a small family table for dinner. Don't know how emotions will be flowing and would hate to ruin someone's enjoymnet. My birthday is 7/16 and I would normally be making sure that I get my birthday cake, but that all seems trivial now.
I am looking foward to the change of scenery and my Oasis...Castaway Cay.
