changing the title of a link

okay, i'm very curious as to how you do this............. how do you take a link for something, and give it a different title???? like sassymom has the fortune cookie surprise trip link in her sig, although it does not use the disboards.com link....... so how would you change the title???? if this makes no sense, i can try to explain better.....

Do not put *s anywhere where I put them - they are just to keep it from linking, so I can show you how to type it.

First, you would copy the URL for whatever place you want to link to.

In this case, I will use my glitter names thread, which would be http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684

Then, I would type [U*RL=http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684]



So far, I have [U*RL=http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684]

Then, I would type whatever text I wanted to right after the ].

So far, I have [*URL=http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684]Glitter Names Thread

Next, I would put [/URL] right at the end of that.

Now I have [*URL=http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684]Glitter Names Thread[/URL].

When you take all the the *s out, you will end up with this:

Glitter Names Thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1200684)

There is an easier way... If you click "Post Reply", and go up to the little bar with all the editing tools there should be an earth with a little pair of binoculars in front. (http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j269/dragonlord11_7/hyperlink.jpg)You first put the text you want for it, then you click "ok". Paste the link, click ok once more, and voila.
