Does anyone have any sense what chance we stand of exchanging into DVC through Interval International the first week of February? We've put in a request to exchange a 1 bedroom for a 1 bedroom at any of the DVC resorts for Feb 3-10, 2007. Just wondering how long I should wait and hope before I move on to trying for a Marriott. Would also love opinions on which DVC is your favorite for a family with kids who will be 9 & 5 should be luck out. Thanks!!!

We always put our requests in really far in advance. For example, we submitted a request in June for the following June, and got a trade for Old Key West in August. I don't know if that's useful advice for you, becasue there will be a lot more activity the closer you get to the use week. My guess is, if you just put the request in, you are a bit late, but we always ask for 2 or 3 BDR units, so it's probably harder for us to get what we want.

Since the value of a deposit drops dramatically less than 60 days before the use week, it stands to reason that nearly all weeks will be deposited by then. I wouldn't wait any longer than that to look for a Marriott trade.

I would think you would have a decent chance. I saw something online for Feb. in the last couple of days but I don't remember exact date or size.

We own DVC but we usually trade in 2 weeks each year.

I did an II exchange to BCV (1 bedroom) in August (did not do a request, just check one day and it happended to be there) for February 24-March 3. There were quite a few DVC options that came up in August and September, so you may still have a chance.

We put in our request last May for January and just got confirmed a few weeks ago into Old Key West. Seems like you still might have a shot at it. Usually the Marriot is easy to get into, so if it were me, I'd sit on it for another month.

Yes, we've gotten into a Marriott fairly easily as well. I agree that waiting a month would be pretty good timing. Good luck! :thumbsup2

One should request at least 11 months out. I would think this time would be fairly easy to get through II far enough out. The problem is that most of the units have already come and gone. At this time, I'd add Marriott fairly quickly.
