Hi! This site was recommended to me by another Mom that I met at a baby class. I have been reading here for about a week and decided to register so I can ask some questions. I have a 6 year old little girl named Cassie and we are planning our first trip to Disney. We are going to go in March and are staying at Pop Century since it looked like a fun place.

Thank you for all the welcomes. And it is nice to see some other "neighbors" around here. I can't wait to read through some more of the board and get things planning.
I am so excited to be taking my daughter on her first trip (I guess I should say DD, right? Is that what it means?)

Welcome aboard  I'm from Long Island.
My family and I just got back from Pop a few days ago. We had the 50's building, first floor facing the parking lot and we loved it. If you will be having breakfast there, the best thing to do is get there early, between 7 and 8 am. That's the slow time. Any time after 8 starts to get crowded. There are three stations open that have different breakfast items to choose from. The store, Everything Pop, was already starting to put out their Christmas merchandise on the 30th and 31st before we left on 11/1.
Don't know how your daughter is about video games, but there is an arcade there. We almost couldn't get our DS4 out of there the first and last day :teeth:
The buses run every 20 minutes. If you are planning on visiting MK and miss the bus, you can always do what we did and hop on the Epcot bus line. The bus takes you to Epcot. From there you go through the security bag check then hop on the monorail to the transportation center and transfer to another monorail that will go through the Contemporary Resort and stop right in front of the MK entrance.
Gotta go, DH needs me upstairs to watch Over the Hedge with our DS4.
Have fun planning your trip and don't be afraid to ask questions! I've found a lot of useful information that helped me plan ours!

I see you're from out east! Our family loves going out that way in the fall. Sometimes we just get in the car and take a "trip to nowhere" out east. It's so beautiful out there. We sometimes make a stop at the R.R. museum and visit my father so our DS can say hello to Pop-Pop.

BRENTWOOD here on Long Island
I just stayed a POP for the first time Oct/Nov and have to say for me when I stay on property I will NEVER stay anywhere else.
I am a Lady & the Tramp freak & I started everyday with a BIG smile on my face when I opened the door & was "greeted" by those large icons. Behind my building (the 50's) is the lake, a quiet reprieve early morning where a flock of ducks adopted me for the duration of my stay (ok the popcorn & bread won their hearts)
The castmembers were awesome, my room was kept spotless, my main mousekeeper kept the towel animals coming even though I am a solo traveler, he fed my inner kid, the front desk, & conceirge staff were extremely accomodating, one came around from the desk with a big fluffy towel, the minute I came in soaked from rain the one day we had a fast down-pour, I was treated like a queen in a 5 star hotel..I made many many friends with the castmembers and will keep in touch with them for the rest of my life!
I will tell you all about my great stay when I write a trip report after the holidays,
Ruthie You will LOVE POP

You mentioned above you were there Oct/Nov. We were there from 10/25-11/1. I didn't know there was another Long Islander staying at Pop during that time. The closest we came was at 50's Prime Time on 10/30. The family behind us was from Lake Grove.

You're probably right, we may have seen each other in passing :)
I don't know when we'll be able to go again. DH and I are working on trying for baby #2 so we won't be planning another Disney trip until after #2. Although, I'm going to try and talk him into going to Disney on Ice 100 Years of Magic at Nassau Coliseum. I need another Disney fix!

I hve 4 kips that now range in age from 22 to 14. They still love going to Disney. last year my three girls (22,21 & 18) each took oneof their friends with us. It just does not get old. And by the way the 22 & 21 year old have been going there since they we 3 & 4 years old. It's amazing what they remember about those early trips.
