Can anyone tell me about the New Orleans airport? DH and I are thinking about a cruise which leaves from New Orleans. Good idea or bad?

Do you have a more specific question? The airport is open for business. There are cruise ships docked here now. The French Quarter is in good shape. A cruise is always a good idea.

I'd like to help, but I guess I'm not understanding what you're trying to find out. :confused3

Good idea! :thumbsup2

DH flew out of NO (MSY) & back on Wednesday. No problems to discuss.

The local news reported just the other day that they are seeing some increased delays because of the new TSA rules, but it seems to be more related to uninformed passengers rather than problems with the airlines.

The cruise ships are back! Norwegian (I think...or is it Carnival?) has a brand new terminal, and most of the big tourist areas (French Quarter) are eager for business.

Please ask more questions if you have some concerns. We'd love to see everyone come for a visit.

We flew out of Nola to Orlando & back, the beginning of the month. We experienced much longer baggage handling delays leaving Orlando than we did here in Nola. Everything ran smooth at the airport here! My DH is in a WC so that usually causes us big delays but everything here worked well, it wasn't awful in Orlando but it did take quite a bit longer.

Be aware that there are less flights coming thru here than Pre-K, so you may have limited flight times.

Everything is up & running though, so please don't hesitate to come here!

Come on down & enjoy some Gumbo!! :goodvibes
