piratesmate -
I believe Friday is the last day for the .20cent paper. A new sale starts on Saturday. I've bought several stacks of the Disney paper, LOL, and am going back tomorrow for one last round. At .20cents a sheet, I've been buying 50+ at a time, LOL. Might as well get the Disney paper while I can.
Just wanted to let you know! Don't want you to miss out on the GREAT deal.

Thanks NED! I'd better call & ask then. Our flyer says that the prices are good through Saturday. The new one starts on Sunday here. :confused3

How do you get on their mailing list? I have signed up 3 times now and I'm still not on. If it's only email you'd think they'd send it to anybody they could.
If they didn't have such great prices on Disney paper I might have to quit shopping there, all that fabric gives me nightmares :rotfl2:

Piratesmate: You just HAD to tell me about the paper sale didn't you! LOL
Like I need more paper!
I signed up in the store and I know it took me a while to get the actual flyer since I had moved. Then with the flyers you need to use them or your name drops off after a period of time and you have to start again.

Oh, scratch what I said...LOL. I thought today was the 27th. I just knew the sale ended on the 28th.
Totally my bad. Jumped the gun 'cause I didn't want you to be disapointed. ;)
Does anyone know if they do this sale very often? I just found .20cents a sheet such a good deal I have gone a bit overboard, but I definately feel the need to take advantage of it.
I carefully read lots of advice before I started scrapping, and one of the biggest pieces of advice I saw over and over was not to buy tons of stuff you don't need/know you will use. I have obeyed this, but I'm just in love with Disney paper, and so far I'm only scrapping Disney stuff. I also am making several copies of some pages for different books for different people (like character and autograph pages - love color photocopying the autographs hehe), so multiples of each sheet really help me. But if they do this every few months or something, I might not stock up THAT much more, LOL. I do love all the Disney paper, though, and I'm already using a lot of it.

Hey NewEnglandDisney you can never have enough Disney paper! They do have this sale occationally but I wouldn't say frequently....what does everyone else think???
OH, I just talked with my SIL she spent 70$ just on the paper! lol now I don't feel so bad.

No problem NED! I'm glad you mentioned it - because I would have been disappointed if I'd missed it! I was there the first day of the sale, but it was pouring so I didn't get any paper. And I need a few sheets to complete a project.
The last time it was on sale it was 4/$1 but most of the time it's 5/$1...although I've already seen it at 6/$1 ;) I bought a lot that time! I'd guess it's on sale about every other month...it's hard to keep track because their sales are for 2 weeks at a time.

I got a coupon this week and used it on horrible corner rounder scissors from Fiskar. Piece of junk!
I had to sign up twice in the store before I started to get the ads. I didn't know you could be dropped if you didn't use them. That hasn't been a problem yet!

I rarely shop at the Joanns here, it is SO small it hardly has anything. Defintely haven't seen any Disney paper there.
Question is do most of them usually carry Disney paper? I can check surrounding cities to see if they carry it.

OH, I just talked with my SIL she spent 70$ just on the paper! lol now I don't feel so bad.
LOL. I've spent $30 (150 sheets), and I'll probably spend another $10 tomorrow. I'm going to a JoAnn's that I haven't been to yet, so I'm hoping they have some more Disney paper I haven't seen at my other JoAnn's. For instance, they don't have Aurora paper, even though they have every other princess.
I'm also going on a big trip this year for Christmas, and plan on taking a lot of pictures to scrap of all the Christmas decorations, so I've been getting Christmas themed paper too. Hey, I figure for this price, why not. I was spending $20 a time buying 20ish sheets over the internet, so the bargain is definately there since I know I'll use up the Disney paper.

Glad I didn't mess you up, and thanks for the price advice. I know I still want to get another 50 sheets or so, but it's good to know it's not like a once-a-year thing or anything; that's good to know so I won't go buying papers for next summer/fall trips too LOL.

It's funny, but a friend of mine who is a big quilter (almost professionally) swears by Fiskar's products and told me all about them when I started scrapping. I haven't been terribly impressed myself - I have the Fiskar circle cutter and it doesn't work great, and I've really practiced. I always hesitate to use it on photos because I'm never sure if I will get the cut or not. I've learned to listen closely, and unless I hear the "cut" all the way around I don't move the device until I'm sure it's done it the whole way 'round.
I had to sign up twice in the store before I started to get the ads. I didn't know you could be dropped if you didn't use them. That hasn't been a problem yet!
I've signed up in the store and online, and haven't gotten anything in snail mail yet but did get mailed 2 40% off coupons for being a "new" customer. I'll admit, I'm a baddie - I have a PO Box and I still get mail at home so I signed up twice, LOL. ;) I know I can't use them at the same time, but it's nice to have.

It definately varies. I've checked out three or four JoAnn's in the last month in my area, and I've found everything from one or two Mickey prints, to a full range of character sheets : the princess papers (the brightly colored double page layout ones), the Nemo background paper, the Pooh paper (my local JoAnns has 10 different Pooh/Tigger/Piglet/etc. designs).
I was shocked and so glad I found the big JoAnn's about 30 mins from my house, because I found 70% of the papers I was getting ready to order online for .79-99cents each right there in the store for 5/$1!
So definately check out other locations if they are available to you, because I'm so glad I did. The funny thing is, I have two clusters of Michaels/Joann's that are exactly 1/2 hour away from me, in opposite directions. So in one town 1/2 hour south of me has both a JoAnn's and a Michael's, and one town 1/2 hour north has both as well. The problem? The one in the south has the AWESOME JoAnn's, but a crappy Michaels. The one in the north has a crappy JoAnn's, and an AWESOME Michaels, LOL.
It's worth it, though, to find the savings, as buying online can get pretty expensive if you want quantity.

NED- be sure to check with both Joann's and Michael's on their coupon policies. The stores I mainly shop at accept each other's coupons. The Michael's store will not accept internet coupons but will take competitors coupons from flyers and the newspaper. Joann's will take other's coupons as well, however, they will not let you use a Michael's coupon on fabric since Michael's doesn't sell fabric. I was also told by a Joann's mgr last Friday that one can use more than one Joann's coupons at the same time as long as certain parts of the barcode numbers were different. So I could have used my 50% off coupon (I didn't 'cause everything I bought was on sale), my 40% off coupon, and then if my total was more than $25, I could also use the $5/$25. He also said I would not be allowed to use 2 40% off coupons from the flyers at the same time, but could if they came from different sources and the bar codes were not the same. Is that clear as mud? :rotfl:
Now I must say the J's I normally shop at is a superstore. YMMV. I drive an hour to get to this store because the smaller stores in my area will not accept competitor's coupons, will not let you use more than one coupon at a time, and they don't have a very good selection of products. So be sure to ASK at your store what their policy is.
One last thing- IF history repeats itself, there should be another paper sale either right after Thanksgiving (black Friday weekend) or the first week or two of December. I know they did this last year, as I took my niece to buy paper for a scrapbook she was working on for her father for Christmas.
HTH! :)

1 down, 3 to go.
Checked out a store in a town about 50 min from me, DH was going over for work so I rode along to check out the Joann's. Not a great selection, only a little bigger than my store and they only had 5 Disney papers and about 9 different sheets of stickers.
I'm going to call the other 3 to find out if any of them are a superstore.
I'm so excited to find some good things!!! Now I just have to get some of the coupons. I'm sure I need to get on the mailing list, what else?

Oh, and what are DCWV and YMMV?
DCWV = Die Cuts with a View They make stacks of paper & you can also buy bags of "scraps" (pre-cut smaller squares/rectangles) of cardstock. Most is textured - at least what I've gotten...not quite as much as Bazzil, but still it adds a nice look to the LO. They may have other items, but that's what I usually buy.
YMMV = ??? Your Memories May Vary?? :rotfl2: :lmao: Sorry - I don't recognize that one.

The J's superstore by me had some awesome rolling plastic carts with removable 12x12 storage cases that closed. They were like the standard plastic 3 drawer rolling carts only they had 6 removable "cases" instead of drawers. Each case was designed to hold 12x12 paper. Of course they weren't priced (half their stuff isn't) and it was close to closing so I don't know how much they are.

So far I'm surviving with a single magazine-rack style holder for the paper, but I keep being afraid I'm going to wreck it all, LOL. That sounds like a great idea - especially with a 40% off coupon.
BTW, thanks to everyone for the advice regarding coupons/sales. I didn't end up going back to JoAnn's for the paper sale - I figured I had enough, LOL. It's nice to know they do them semi-regularly. If they have another one before Christmas I'll take that as a sign I need more Christmas paper. Being able to get 50 papers for ten bucks is just too hard to resist! Especially since I started out buying online and paying a buck a page plus shipping.
Now I'm just counting down to my trip and getting some CTM kits. I know they don't have a big selection there, but I do really want a few of those kits.

I did get back for my paper - gotta finish these gift albums this year! LOL I'd started last year & DH made me stop the week before Christmas. I was so sick of them that I didn't finish - kept putting them off. But now I should have enough paper to do them.
I checked for Aurora paper and mine didn't have it. It's not a super store, but has more paper than any other place I've ever been except the Flower & Craft Warehouse in Lancaster! LOL I could have sworn I'd seen it there in the past, but no luck.
I've been thinking I need something different for my paper. I wish my JoAnns had the carts laura@fam mentioned! They sound great!

I went back today to use the 40% coupon before it expired today and the DCWV paper is 50% off!! The sign was hand written so I don't know if it is storewide or just in store. A great deal though!
Those carts sound cool. I haven't seen those. I've been using the Cropper Hopper vertical holder and so far I like it. My paper doesn't get all wrinkled.
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!
