hi all! welcome to my weight loss journal

my name is val i'm 22 from toronto canada! i'm a disney newbie but supper excited about my upcoming trip with my wonderful bf of 1.5yrs :banana: :banana: :banana: i'm in 3rd York U for Women's Studies and plan to a teacher when i'm finished my masters! Everyone (mom, friends, bf) calls me princess... because well... i guess i am a bit of a princess! lol princess:

i started this journal because i stepped on the scale yesterday and the number i saw really made me sad :sad2: i want to loose about 15lbs which seems achievable before my vacation! and overall loose about 30lbs! so I can see the skinny/fit me again!

I will be posting sucesses, tips, daily eating/excersizing (hopefully)

any advice, comments, tips would be appriciated :) thank u! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Day One

Breakfast:
2 pieces of chicken bacon
Water

Lunch:
2 Chicken Hotdogs
1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese
Water

Dinner:
1 Baked Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breast
Side of Mac and Cheese :rolleyes: (couldn't help it :confused3 )

i stepped on the scale this morning and i lost 3LBS! WOAH! i know it's just water weight but it was nice to see hehe :)

Breakfast:
Nada (i know so bad..but i woke up late!)

Lunch:
1 egg omlette w/ cheese and ham
Water

Snack?
1 chicken hotdog with a whole wheat bun (i was hungry)
** Need to pick a better snack next time!**

Dinner:


I'm trying hard to find low carb options.. It's frusterating because I'm so used to eating carbs.. anyone have any good ideas?

Also I need to start excersizing.. I walk 20mins to work everyday, however between being a fulltime university student and working 5 days a week and homework its hard to fit it in

ok i got a little side tracked the last week because of many assignments due for school however i'm back on track and more determined then ever after beginning my vacation shopping :D:D:D

well yesetrday was my birthday so i kinda splurged on the diet... just a bit!! haha my wonderful bf took me to the keg and lets just say we spent over 100 bucks on food for the both of us! for my entree i had a HUGE broiled lobster tail with rice and veggies so I guess that wasnt too bad! but for appitizer we had spinish/crab/paramsan dip and for dessert he got me this GIANT cocolate brownie/ice cream/whip cream thingie!!! mmmmm it was sooo good i only ate half tho! lol

My cruise is less then 2 months away I really have to start being strict especially with my carbs! i really wanna loose this weight before the cruise so i can loook good in my new years dress haha!!

Today I gotta make up for that huge meal!

Happy Birthday! Im glad you had a good night out!

For me, using the cruise as my motivation really helped me to watch what i was eating and exercise..And now its 2 days away so well see if i look okay in the dress for formal night!

I probably wont be around until after I get back from the cruise--so have a great week!

Ok so I've decided me trying to figure out what I want to eat is not giving me the results I want. I am going to try the Scarsdale Medical Diet. I have tried the diet before and have had success so hopefully it will work this time around because I need some fast results! I think I am the type that I need a structured plan to follow in order to stick to it.

Has anyone else tried this plan?

so I woke up today feeling so MOTIVATED! my main motivation? I want to look like a princess: princess princess: in my formal dress on new years so i've decided on a reward... If i loose a good amount of weight on this diet and can stick to it I will buy myself some cute new clothes for the trip AND a dress for new years! if shopping doesnt get me motivated nothing will! lol

so wish me luck! I want to do this i have to do this! 6 more weeks and i CAN do this... right?!

Breakfast:
1 tangerine

Lunch:
5 slices of lunch meat
2 veggie crackers
1 pickle

Dinner:
Baked Salmon with Lemon, Herb and Pepper
Cucumber Slices with calorie wise french dressing
2 Veggie Crackers

Snack:
2 Walnuts

I feeel GREAT however I'm trying to distract myself from "boredom" eating! which DIS boards is great for!!!

Ok So I'm still SUPER motivated this morning... hopefully I can keep it up! I think the hardest part for me will be to not eat at night... which I tend to do especially while studying and in school! However, the thought of looking good in my new years dress and bikini is more important to me then snacking!

So far today.. Scarsdale Day 2

Breakfast:
- slept in (its my day off) so no breakfast!

Lunch:
- Baked Salmon (left over) Salad with teaspoon of red pepper sauce and lime juice with celery and carrots (SO GOOD! mmm!)
- Tangerine
- Water

Dinner:
- Chicken fried with a little water (no oil)
- 1 small whole wheat tortia (instead of protien bread)
- Lettuce and Cucumber salad with 1 tbspn cal-wise french dressing

Excersize:
I'm not feeling too well today so I didnt want to jump right into anything too strenuous so I did some arm excersizes and worked on my tummy!
(total 20 mins)

Need to start with cardio!!!

3LBS lost 12 to go!!! woohoo!!!

Breakfast:
n/a

Lunch:
- 2 slices of pastrami
- 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese
- 2 veggie crackers
- 2 walnuts
- water

Dinner:
- 3 baby corn cobs
- 6 teeny mini burgers (homemade - lean ground beef)
- 4 rice cheese flavoured crackers (super low in carbs/fat/cals - HIGHLY recommend them!)
- Water

Excersize:
Still feeling blahs so
- Lower body excersizes
- 100 Crunches

Still feeling the motivation and honestly I'm feeling better and less tired I think it has to do with all the junk leaving my body!

Anyways I'm very happy with the diet so far! I hope I can keep it up till my cruise

Scarsdale Day 4-

Breakfast:
- tangerine
- water

Lunch:
- 3 slices turkey bacon (very delicious and low in cals and fat)
- 2 eggs scrambled with no fat used for cooking
- 1 slice protien bread
- 1 tbspn of ketchup

Dinner:
- 1 1/2 chicken breast (boneless, skinless)
- 1/4 cup of chili sauce
- 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese

Scarsdale Day 5 -
Wow Today I get to eat 2 whole pieces of bread! lol

Breakfast:
none

Lunch:
Grilled Cheese Sandwhich made with proten bread and low fat marble chedder cheese

Dinner:
Shrimp and Scallop Low Fat Scampi - SOoOoOOo GOOD!!! :Pinkbounc

If anyone is interested in how to make low fat shrimp scampy you use the same recipe as regular shrimp scampi (can be found online) but instead of white wine u use water and use half the butter and parmasan called for

Ok this weekend was hard because my DBF always stays over on the weekends and LOVES to eat so its hard to not pig out with him however i think i did a pretty good job!
For dinner on saturday night I made him crab legs and a shrimp and scallop low fat scampi with some veggies and some rice for him which he LOVED! :)
I overate a bit on this dinner but managed to nto have any rice and just eat the fish and carbs! I had a very small lunch of 3 slices of turkey bacon which made me feel less guilty! hehe

Anyways for today

Scarsdale - Day 7 (1 week down one to go b4 Keep Trim 2 weeks)

Breakfast:
n/a

Lunch:
Fruit Salad (yummy)

Snack:
3 slices of mortatella
2 veggie crackers
(bad snack i know :rolleyes: )

Dinner:
chicken breast
rapini
white chedder rice cake

frusterated b/c my scale went back up 2 lbs ( i guess too much food this weekend hehe) but at least im not gaining any of the official 5lbs back!

I found my new years dress today and it is the such a nicee dress! its a marlyn manroe type dress but its red with black poka dots!

Day 11 - Back on track... kinda!

So i was going to follow the lunch menu for today and have a fruit salad but then my lovely nonna (grandma) brought over homemade chicken soup and I couldnt resist!

im feeling stessed with work and exams around the corner however I find instead of reaching for the bad food to deal with my stress i'm not even craving stress/confort food!

Breakfast
n/a

Lunch:
1 cup homemade chicken soup

snack:
1 chocolate timbit mmm

Dinner:
Another bowl of soup... just too good to pass up! hehe! :Pinkbounc

Excersize:
walked 20 mins to work (i work at an afterschool program with a group of grade ones :blush: )
did some running around outside with the kids for an hour

Today I had a P.A day field trip... so stressful! they provided lunch for us and I was so proud of myself I took the top slice of bread off the sandwhich AND i didnt eat the rice crispie square!! :thumbsup2

Breakfast:

Lunch:
Turkey/cheese sandwhich w/ one slice of bread
carrot sticks

Snack:
Tangerine

Dinner:
Homemade turkey burger
1 slice cheese
1 tbspn of bbq sauce
salad w low cal french dressing (new fave!)

Excersize:
Running around after kids for like 9 hours straight!

Today.. Not the best day.. overate a bit epecially on the carbs and had some serious cravings that i tried my best not to induldge too much in but in comparision to the past i think i did OK... but must keep on track and not make this an everyday habt again!!

Day ??? I dont even know i think 18 lol
I'm on the Keep Trim program right now of the scarsdale diet to lock in my metabolism! the only problem is you get alot more freedom! its hard but im trying! next monday back on the strict part of the diet!

Breakfast

Leftover turkey soup with brown rice
1/2 PBnJ sandwhich on brown bread

Snack:
2 whole wheat crackers with roast beef and cheese

Dinner:
Salmon with peppercorn sauce

Snack: (this is the bad part)
4 low fat oatmeal cookies

a piece of bday cake!!
actually theres a funny story behind this!
I was at a work training session and it was another co-workers bday and it ended up that this lady is a fellow DISer! how weird is that!! hehe

went out to montana's for a girl's night and got..
1 kiddie sized chicken pasta
1 small side salad
water to drink!
overall.. pretty proud of myself.. though i could have made a lower carb selection i had a pretty small portion of what i really wanted instead

This weekend overall was pretty good! I was really careful with my portion sizes!

Yeserdat I had half a chicken parmasan and some whole wheat pitas with this cheese dip and today my stomach is KILLING me! I definitly cants eat heavy fooods anymore! Which is a good thing!

Today I'm back to the STRICT part of the diet and the last attempt to loose the weight b4 my cruise! Im excited so see how much i'll loose! I'm aiming for 15! we'll see!

When is your cruise again? With your determinatin, I just know you'll reach your weightloss goals!! It's amazing how our bodies can't take rich foods anymore once we give them up for a while. My stomach was pretty mad at some of my food choices last week too! Keep up the great work!

My cruise is in 23 days!
I'm HOPING i can loose anothe 10-15lbs but we'll see i'll be so happy if i can loose another 10!

So i'm pretty happy with my choice with the situation i was stuck in :blush:

will i be able to loose another 10lbs? I hope so! My weight has hit the 15lbs lost mark but has not been steady so im trying to stead that last 1lb so i can change my siggy!

well im back from a HORRIBLELY bad weekend eating wise lol but i did lots of walking around the malls to make up for it! I ended up eating pretty heavy both days... and i gave into temptation at red lobster and had those biscuits and coconut shrimp! but luckily my weight just stayed steady!

My cruise is soooo close I just have a few more things to buy! I cant believe how much more fun shopping is now! i feel so good about myself again! amazing what 15lbs can do for ya!

Today I had..

- 1 slice protien bread
- 1/2 veal with light gravy sauce

Dinner
- 1/2 cup of risotto w/ tomato sauce and tbspn of cheese
- 1 chicken breast with low fat cream cheese sauce

Well I leave tomorrow! I havent been able to update because I've been busy with the holidays and shopping and PACKING!
I have maintained my 15lbs even over Christmas which I am definitly proud of!
I didn't hit 20lbs but I did hit my original goal of 15lbs and I am so proud and happy for that! Thanks to everyone who has been encouraging me I will definitly be continuing my journal after the cruise for my new years resolution to loose another 20lbs!

I will talk to you guys when I get back! Hopefully don't gain too much with all that AMAZING food mmmmmmmm

i'm back and im working on my trip report! had an awsome time but we lost the camera at disney and i am sooo upset :( all my vacation photos.. GONE :( also i gained 5 lbs back but man was it worth it haha :)

yes i have no luck so far :( i dont think i'm going to see it again but its ok i've already accepted it and had a few good crys and i'm gunna make the best of the photo pass pictures and the professional shots we got on the boat and from our friends and make a nice memory board with 1 or 2 pics and all the souvineers and plus the big pooh bear my bf bought is making me feel much better :goodvibes: not to mention my bf has already started planning our next trip he liked it so much

I'm hoping to get my jounral bac up and running by monday with a trip report just settling back into work and school

how was everyone else's new years?

just wanted to pop in and let everyone know im still alive and well! i lost the 5lbs that i had gained on the cruise and hopefully on monday i can stick to my journal because i find without it i tend to go off track alot more.

so hopefully monday i will start my daily posts again!

well i promised myself and all of you that i would start my journal again and here i am and with a new goal!

i definitly think this is attainable and i'm feeling so good now a days cuz my clothes fit so nice :goodvibes

Breakfast:
ok bad start.. my t.a brought in doughnuts to the class so i had a double chocolate one.. im so weak! o well must eat better the rest of the day!

today i am feeling pretty blahh... i can feel myself getting sick :(

breakfast - slept in

lunch:
bowl of chicken broth with a cup of rice
half a tuna melt with low fat mayo on a whole wheat pita

dinner:
4 honey garlic chicken wings and a few baked potato wedges

ok im not even gunna lie to u guys or to myself,
i havent been writing because ive been eating like a pig
im stressed out with school and with my bf... i feel like my world cant get any worse right about now and ive been making myself feel better with food... well i got on the scale and realized ive gained 3 lbs in ONE WEEK and i said no friggin more of this! Just because my life isnt going fantastic right now does not mean i can go back to my old ways and pig out! i'll just gain all the weight back and be more upset!

so i'm making a promise right here and now to try my best to stay on track and to OWN up to it! if i pig out i need to write it down here so i can see with my own eyes what i'm putting in my body!

I'm really needing the encouragment ladies.. if anyone is reading this please.. i need it :idea: :guilty:

so today...

studying for mid terms and still stressing about the bf... but trying to stay positive!

breakfast ... n/a

lunch ...
tuna melt low fat mayo on small diet bread
1 cup of low fat chicken noodle soup (campbells)

snack...
one small homemade bran muffin

dinner...
planning on having 4 ribs.. no sauce with salad with low fat french dressing

couldnt post yesterday because i was busy busy busy with studying for my mid term thats today! i actally feel pretty confident about it! wish me luck its at 4pm tonight!

Yesterday i did manage to eat very healthy!
for lunch i had 2 chicken hotdogs with no bread just some ketchup
for dinner i had chicken breast

Today:

Lunch:
homemade chicken quasadia (i obviously spelt this wrong lol)
nice big bottle of cold water

Dinner:
planning to have mom's home made chili with some salad and a slice of diet bread

today: i'm feeling depressed :( my bf and i broke up... well i broke up with him.. my head my heart and my stomach hurts from the stress of it all... i just hope everything works out for the best.

breakfast: n/a

lunch: n/a

dinner: managed to get down some soup and a blowl of sliced strawberries

its just so hard to even get anything down bc im so anxious and upset its making my stomach hurts.. i need some pixie dust :(

so i've kept off the 15lbs but i was down 20 and gained back 5 bc i was so upset however i want to get back on track and my goal is to loose another 20lbs before....my cancun vacation with my friends at the end of august :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

so i would appriciate all ur encouragement im gunna really need it this time around!

3 crackers

dinner:
chicken breast with plum sauce
half cup of rice salad

I've just read your whole journal and good for you!!! You've done so well with your weight loss! I'm sorry that school, boys, and life are stressing but deffinitly sending pixiedust: your way! I don't know what your new goal is, but I'm sure YOU CAN MAKE IT!!! I'm here rooting for ya! :woohoo:
