I was eagerly anticipating hearing that horn -- and never did! Could I possibly have missed it somehow? :confused3

OK, thank you! I thought maybe it was just me. I kept waiting for it, and it never came! Then I thought maybe I missed it somehow (I did have a few drinks, afterall :goodvibes !!)

So I wonder (ha ha) what was up with that?? Anyone have any ideas? Was the horn out of commission? I think someone on another thread who sailed on the subsequent cruise mentioned hearing the horn.

I want a refund!

We heard it!! And more than once, too. We were out up on the deck once and they even announced to plug your ears because from that area, it would be super loud ... and it was!! Deafeningly loud, but it still gave me the chills. I'm sorry that you missed it!!

Hi,
sorry you missed the horn.

I have a question about your cruise, if you dont mind.

Your cruise was the first one with no "house" band.
So I was wondering what the sail away party was like with NO live band and what the clubs were like without live music???

Could you please tell me about it,
Thanks,

Since this was our very first cruise, I can't really compare it to what it was like with a live band. I can say that given a choice I would rather have live music any day.

The music they played at the sailaway was so loud my parents (in their early 70's) couldn't stand it. Frankly, it was loud for my taste, too. We ended up on one of the aft decks for some peace and quiet. Maybe I didn't hear the horn over the music??

We didn't make it to any of the clubs, either. Well, DH and brother went to Diversions to watch the World Series one night, but obviously no music playing then.

I guess my opinion would be that live music would have enhanced the experience.

Thankyou for your honest answer.
many of us have written DCL and asked them to bring back the live band. It truly does add a little more Magic to the cruise.
If anyone here agrees you too can tell DCL that you think a live band would of been a great addition.

Thanks again,
hopefully someone will be able to tell me what the club was like with no live band too, I am really curious.

I certainly heard the Wonder's horn on the 22nd-26th cruise just after yours, so it was working then! I just wish I'd had my camera with me so I could have taken a video... and gotten the audio track of that horn for my computer.

Don't suppose anyone has a copy of a sound file for the horn, do they?

We were on that cruise also and heard the horn. We were traveling w/ an infant so we were closer to the front of the ship b/c of the loud music. I do remember them making an announcement and I think a couple of different times I covered dc' ears before the horn.

Sorry you missed it but maybe you were having too much fun at the sail away party to even notice until after. :)
