Hiya!!

I couldn't wait for my first trip to WDW next August, so I had to plan a little trip in between - I just booked flights today to go to DLP on the 5th Jan - 7th Jan. It's my 21st birthday on the 4th Jan. A few of my friends are coming with me too...

It'll be my 3rd time to DLP, but my first time as a DISer :teeth: So I know now that there are character meals to be had there, etc!!

But since it's my 21st, I want to make it special... I've heard of hotels putting balloons, etc. in rooms - but since we are staying at the Holiday Inn DLP, I don't know if they would do something like this?

I'm planning on having a character breakfast at Plaza Gardens on the Saturday morning (does anyone know which characters will be here?), and maybe Walt's on the Saturday night - but I've heard good things about The Blue Lagoon too....

Any advice or tips I'd be grateful!!

Here is the email address for the Holiday Inn, valdefrance@holiday-inn.fr

They should be able to help with regards to surprises in their rooms.

Hi Eeyore's Tailfinder and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here (http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm) and details regarding help on signatures here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=976007)

Characters vary so it is not possible to say who will be there. We have had Geppeto, Honest John, Susie, Chip and Dale, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Eeyore at meals :)

It's where I celebrated my 20th so it only seemed right :teeth:

Only this time I'm taking re-inforcements :rotfl:

If DLP is anything like WDW then you must get a birthday pin, the characters, cast members, hotel staff, restuarant servers and other guests will make a huge fuss over you and treat you like a VIP.

I wasn't sure if DLP did a birthday pin..... can anyone confirm??

I WILL however have a tiara, a sash and a big big badge saying 21!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST in case the CMs don't catch on ;)

Which restaurant do you guys recommend as being fun (I like a good theme!), in Disneyland park, but preferably not a character meal (we'll be having a character break, and loads when we go to WDW) - any pictures of decor or food would be fantastic!! :D

I asked at City Hall last week when I booked Lucky Nugget and was told there wasn't a pin. I was told that if I had a present that a character could give it. I think the CM thought it was for DS but it was really for me.

Thanks for the response :teeth:

How did you find the Lucky Nugget?

We loved it, I think we must have tried a bit of everything in the buffet! DS loved the desserts and my cocktail so had to have one too. We had Eeyore, Baloo, Friar Tuck, Robin Hood,Prince John, Wendel and Pluto. We might have had more but we can't remember. The band was also playing. There were lots of smaller kids having fun dancing with Baloo at their tables.

I'd recommend Auberge de Cendrillion for lunch if you are not so bothered about characters. You get a buffet starter/sweet and choose a main meal from about 6 choices for about 22-25€ and you can get the cinderella's slipper dessert as a birthday treat too (If you like chocolate !).

I've also only heard good things about Walts on Main St. :thumbsup2
