I am desperately looking for the dip recipe that goes inside a hollowed out round pumpernickel bread. I have made this bread bowl dip once before but I have lost the recipe! I remember there weren't too many ingredients. I think it had spinach in it.

Help!

Last year I made sure I copied down the spinach dip recipe while I had the box. The year before Jiffy Mix stopped putting their standard recipes on the box & I thought I wouldn't be able to make pancakes!! Fortunately, I still had the old box (DD cleaned up & put the empty box back in the cupboard. :rotfl2: So now I don't take chances on recipes like that. ;)

KNORR SOUP SPINACH DIP

1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix (dry)
16 oz. sour cream
1 pkg. frozen spinach, thawed, drained
1 can water chestnuts, chopped coarsely

Mix soup with sour cream. Add spinach and water chestnuts. Chill over night. Serve with chopped vegetables for a tasty dip.

It sounds like spinach dip...on the Knorr box that is already listed on the thread. YUM...one of my favs!

I have a beer cheese dip recipe that you put in bread but it does not have spinach. PM me if you would like this recipe...

Thanks -- I've never used a Knorr recipe. I made this once from a recipe someone gave me, but I've lost it. I know it did not have water chestnuts in it though. Could there be another version or maybe she just omitted the chestnuts when she told me how to make it?

I've made it without the water chestnuts...my family doesn't like them. It is a great recipe, but it is on the veg soup box, not the spinach soup box...just to you don't make the same mistake that I did when I went to the store

Could it be a hot dip, like you get in a restaurant?

The Knorr recipe on the veg. soup box is YUMMY! I made it with the Hawaiian bread and even DD (who was 4 at the time) loved it!

Have you tried a hot chipped beef dip with the pumpernickel? It doesn't have spinach in it, but is soooo good with any bread or cracker. It has cream cheese, sour cream, dried beef (like comes in a little glass jar), onion, garlic and green pepper. Might work for you!

I use a spinach dip. I don't have a recipe as I used a pre packaged mix that only requires adding sour cream and mayo. I do have a dill dip recipe.

1 cup mayo(real deal)not salad dressing
1 cup sour cream
1 tbs dried minced onion
1 tbs dried parsley
1 tsp seasoning salt(Mc cormicks)
1 tsp dill weed
mix all together and chill at least 8 hours

Go to www.allrecipes.com and search for "Chicago Dip" - it's AWESOME!!! I follow the recipe to the letter, put in a bread bowl and serve. Everyone loves it and it's really easy to make. By far the best I've found!!

1 Large Sour cream
1 500 ml Hellman's Mayo(can't use Miracle Whip)
1pkg frozen Chopped Spinach
1envelope Knorr vegetable soup mix.

I take the spinach out the night before , let it thaw. Drain well. Add the sour cream and mayo together, adding then the drained spinach and dry soup mix. Hollow out your pumpernickel bread, and fill with the spinach dip. I usually buy 2 loaves and use the 2nd for additional bread for dipping. What you've hollowed out from the 1st bread, cut into cubes for dipping.

I hope this is the one you were looking for.

This is the spinach dip I make for parties and everyone loves it - even those who claim to hate spinach!

1 envelope Campbells dry veggie soup mix
1 large container Breakstones sour cream
2 Tbs Hellmans mayo
1/2 bag FRESH spinach - stems removed and chopped
4 (approx.) fresh scallions - chopped small

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and let set in fridge for 1 hour; hollow out pumpernickel bread and cube what you remove; scoop dip into bread; place on serving platter surrounded by bread cubes - yummy!!
