So, for my cousin's birthday, I decided to get her the Little Mermaid DVD. We watched the movie, then popped in the special features. Low and behold, there was a feature that was a virtual tour of a ride that was planned for Disneyland, but was never put into effect, that is based on the Little Mermaid movie. It was so so so so cool. It explained a lot about Imagineering techniques that are used in making attractions. The coolest one i found was that whenever Disney designs a Dark Ride, they always put a "boring" scene first (just look at the Blue Bayou and first caves you see in Pirates). This is actually so that the guest can get used to the lighting that is used in a drak ride. Also, on the Lion King 1 1/2 movie, there is a similar feature in which Timon and Pumbaa design their own ride with classic scenes from classic Disney Attractions. Isn't That cool?!

I remember my aunt showed my the one on Lion King 1and1/2! It was so cool! Now I want to see the one on Little Mermaid. I always find the Imagineering so fascinating!

The ride actually did come out :)

But it was closed about ten years ago. It was a submarine ride, and now it's being turned into the finding nemo ride.

That's a very old picture of it. You can still see the Tomorrowland Skyway Ride in there. I believe they painted the submarines yellow though...
