:welcome:
I've noticed that there are a few people who've joined in 2006 here on our little corner of the DIS, and wanted to welcome you if we haven't already.
We have a really nice group here ~ locals and non-locals ~ with varying degrees of expertise and perceptions who really add to our Disneyland Community, so pull up a chair & stay awhile.
In fact, why don't we introduce ourselves here and get to know each other a bit more.
I'll go first :sunny:
My name is Mary Jo, and divorced mom of two, who were 11 & 10 when I first joined the DIS. They are now 18 (almost 19) and 17 now, so they've kind of grown up knowing about the DIS, and have even gone to some of the DIS meets we've had. I joined the DIS at the end of '98, became a mod in 2000, and joined Dreams Unlimited in 2001.
The first DISer (and "internet") person I met was JudyFromBoise & her family, and right after Goofster57 & his family - even spent some enjoyable Friday evenings with them. I think I met Tink33 next, and probably bump into her more than anyone else at the Land, and then we've had some really fun DISmeets when Dan Murphy came out from Chicago along with some other fun DISers (I can't even name them all - but they're special). Met up with iceskatejen for Disneyland's birthday, and then with Ginarella & her family when we staked out a spot to catch the POTC II premier --- fun times.
I've got a premium AP, and have had one for the past few years. My ds, Nick, is on hiatus from Disney right now, but my dd, Kelly, is a real Disney friend, and may go more often than me. Sometimes she & her friend, Brandi, will go to DL & bring me reports & pics of the latest changes.
Although I visit other boards, the Disneyland & now California boards are "home" to me, and even though I might not post everyday, I certainly read here everyday. :goodvibes
I also love reading the trip reports and the experiences you all share. A special thanks to Hydroguy, too, for all of his well-thought out threads. :)
Okay, who's next?

good idea...
Well, my real name is Albert. I joined not long ago trying to find out little secrets about Disneyland. I joined the Disneyteam(CM) last month as a ODV cashiers, aka, ppl who sells at the food cart. I just want to help other people about disneyland to make their experiance a better one, which is the reason i joined.
Im 20, going to school at CSUF, so Disneyland is really close. I live in Fullerton. and im single.
I havent met anyone but someone offered to meet with me next month :) So hopefully, i can get to know more people.

hey there! while technically not a newbie, I am a newbie to the DL board. My name is Dave, and I'm from New Orleans, LA (hence NOLADAVE). We've been to WDW multiple times, and have committed to going to either DL or WDW every Mardi Gras until the kids get tired of it! I figure in a couple of years, our DS13 will say he's tool old (or too "cool") to go, and we will be down to DW, myself, and DD8.
WDW is quite crowded, as A LOT of Louisiana and Mississippi people use their Mardi Gras break (and sometimes spring break) to go to WDW. We were hoping that DL would be a little less crowded. However, this year, President's Day and MG are one day apart, so I think it will be VERY crowded.
Anyway, thanks for the tips that I've gotten so far, and I look forward to the DL trip in February.

Thanks for the welcome and the intro Mary Jo!
My name is Brandie and I live near Spokane, WA. I've got three kids DS 10 (aka D), DS 8 (aka Z) and DD 2 (aka B). I've recently joined while planning my most recent DL vacations. I've learned lots from the helpful folks at the DIS and hope that I've been of some help, as well. I've spent most of my time at the Disneyland side of the boards. I'll probably become familiar with the WDW side as we've just recently become DVC owners. I can't wait to see where that takes us!
Thanks to all who post! I've impressed family and friends with my Disney insight that is really due to the wisdom of the DIS posters. I'm glad that I found this friendly online community.

Hi! My name is Alicia I am spending a lot of time on the WDW boards right now while i plan my December trip but after that I will probably be here most of the time. I live in Vegas and am usually an annual pass holder for Disneyland but since I had a wedding and honeymoon to pay for this year I did not get one but plan to for next year. Since my fiance and I live close to California we go to DL several times a year and have been doing so for quite a while now. I don't claim to be an expert but I think I have some good knowledge of the DL Resort and some of the surrounding area. I am always happy to help with any questions so don't be afraid to ask.
My next trip will be in 29 days and we will be staying at the Grand Californian on the concierge level. :cloud9: There will be a lot of us there since I am getting married on Nov. 17. Unfortunatley we couldn't afford a Disney wedding but hopefully a ceremony on the beach will be almost as nice. :bride: My dad is paying for our room and tickets for the 5 days we will be in Anaheim as our wedding present so we will be at the parks as much as possible. :cheer2:
Anyway that's me so if you have any questions ask away and I will try to help as much as I can. :teacher:

Hi, everyone! I'm Diane, wife and SAHM from Denver, CO. I'm not new to WDW or the Dis but I am new to the Disneyland board. DH says if finances are good after the new year I can take a 3-4 day trip BY MYSELF, NO HUSBAND OR TODDLER, anywhere I want. I figured out that DL was probably do-able so I've just started researching.
Happy travels!!!

 Hi, my name is Trishia. I am from Boise Idaho and have lived there my whole life. I am a single mother to DD5. I have been a Disney Feak all my life and my greatest dream would be to live in any of the Disney theme parks (most likely DL). I work at St Al's hospital and spend my extra time planning trips to disney (even when I can't go :teeth: ).

I live in the central valley in Cali and up to now made one or 2 trips per year to DL...will be going back in about 5 weeks and getting my first ever AP which I will use as much as my body, car etc.. will allow :rotfl: I have not had the pleasure of meeting anyone from the boards in person but this trip that will change...I will be meeting Dale-n-Chip and definitely Albort (im gonna drive him crazy) :lmao: Spazzyjazzy will also be there during my trip and hopefully I will get to meet her as well as Eatmypixiedust...so Im planning on making up for lost time...
Im so glad I found DIS boards and the people on it and I know that if there is something I need to know asap I will definitely find it here :thumbsup2 and I am very happy to reciprocate :cloud9:

My name is Joe, and I was once a native Californian, so I've been to Disneyland a number of times (as indicated in my sig). It's my favorite place to be. But since I got married and moved across country to Illinois, I haven't been back to the Happiest Place on Earth. :sad2: To rectify the lack of Vitamin Disney, DW and I plan on going to WDW for the first time in December. If she enjoys that, then I hope to bring her to DLR sometime in 2007 (probably during the summer, for better and worse).
When I'm not planning Disney vacations, I'm a network administrator. Oh, and I'm 37 years old.

Great thread! :cheer2:
My name is Terri and I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I have one daughter, aged 17 and a husband of 24 years. We are all huge Disney fans (DD and I more than DH but he is a good sport about it!) and travel to DL as often as we can. In 2004 we decided to try WDW and loved it too and hope to return there before too long. Our next DL trip will be July 07 on our way back from Mexico...can't wait!
Reading these boards make me feel less crazy (so many planners!). I absolutely LOVE planning vacations, especially Disney vacations! Since I can't leave my business (or afford) to go as often as I'd like, I often arrange vacations for my friends (they are all aware of my mania - I call it a hobby!) and have managed to convince many people to accompany us to DL over the years...group trips are so much fun! The last time we hit DL our group was 14: 1 - 12 year old, 2 - 16 year olds, 2 - 19 year olds and the rest adults! It was a blast and everyone wants to go again....maybe WDW next time.

Hi! My name is Theo and I am a mousaholic. It started about ten years ago on a weekend trip and now it is running my life. I live in Dallas, Texas. This means I get the luxury of enjoying both parks. WDW in the Spring (and other quick trips) and Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Trip to DisneyLand. I recently joined the boards to get more information because last Christmas after a rather hard mouse-binge I decided to give my sister and her family a trip to DL for Christmas in 2006 (this Christmas). Now I am responsible for 7 of us getting there and back in December ’06. It is going to be a great Christmas.

I'm Linda, I've been posting here since the begining of this year. Dh and I have been married 12 years (as of this coming Sunday). We have two children dd who is 8 and ds who is 4.
Dh and I have always went to Disneyland for our vacations. I think our first trip was in about 93. We went about once a year until our dd was born in 98. Then we took a couple years off, waiting for her to be old enough to go. She has went 4 times since she was 2. Ds has been 3 times. My kids are true disney lovers- dd knows where every bathroom in the park is, and will ride ANYTHING. Ds loves to watch the planning DVD just for fun.
Our most recent trips were in Oct. 05 and March of 06 as family. I went with friends in May of this year, and dh was there the following week for work. We are currently planning our next trip, which will be early next year. During our trip last March I traded my hopper in for an a/p, and its burning a whole in my pocket!
I post on this board as well as Mouseplanet.

Mary Jo you are awesome for doing this!!
My name is Jazmin and I live in Mesa, Az . Too far away from my home away from home. I have an almost 13 year old son and I recently got married on April Fool's day this year. I have been on this DIS since July 05'. My cousin told me about this place and I have been hooked on the DIS ever since. I recently discovered the community board so, I spend most of the time over there. I am now on my 2nd year of being the proud owner of a deluxe annual pass to Disneyland. I always tell people that it is the best investment ever.
I have two brothers that live in West Hollywood so, it makes it even easier for me to visit Disneyland. One day I hope to meet a DISer. I always look for someone with the lime green mickeyheads or something lime green. But, no luck yet. Thanksgiving weekend will be my next visit!!

Heading back "home" again this weekend. So excited, it's been weeks since my last visit (which was a SHORT day trip)

Hi everyone! I am Jennifer in Las Vegas. I grew up near DL and try to go at least once a year. This board has taught me things I would have never known on my own! Thanks for having a place for us planning freaks, I think I drive my family crazy obssessing about our next trip! I hope I am helpful with the few things I know too. We were planning a tropical vacation this year and then decided our love for DL was too strong , so we will be there in May ............so long from now, but I can't wait

Hi! I joined a couple months ago to plan our DL trip that has gotten bumped up from Feb. to January 2007. Yay!!1 :Pinkbounc
My name is Shelly and I a SAHM to 2 boys, 11 and 8 and 2 girls 3 and 8 months. My dh and I have been married for 12 years and luckily, he shares my Disney mania! We took our first trip to DL in 1998 and then 2 trips to WDW in 2001 and 2004. It seems we can't seem to swing more than a trip every 2-3 years, though I'd be there a couple times a year if I could!
For our DL trip we lived in Vancouver, BC, then moved to Chicago and did the 2 WDW trips, now we're back on the west coast (Seattle) and are going back to DL! Can't wait!
I'm a total planner too, so I totally understand the mania! :goodvibes I call trip planning a hobby too! :woohoo:
This board has been SO full of great information! Thanks everyone! :grouphug:

Hi everybody. My name is Patti and I'm a DIS-aholic! (everyone say "Hi Patti!!" :rotfl2: )
I moved from NJ to Vegas ten years ago. DH and I are both teachers, and we just turned 41! We have three theme-park-junkie-children, and a dog that has learned to love the kennel!!! :rolleyes1
I have always felt I have "taken" more than I've been able to "give" on the DIS, and have saved literally thousands of dollars for myself, family and friends in the years I've been reading. The wealth of information, and the kind and generous spirit on the DIS is absolutely inspiring.
The greatest thing I've gotten from the DIS is the ideas for increased RAOK. I now bring extra glow bracelets, give away leftover snack credits, and pass on unused FastPasses. We save "extra" spots at parades for little kids whose parents bring them too late to get "curbside", and remind newbies to look behind them for Tinkerbell when watching fireworks at IASW.
The group at the DL/West boards is outstanding. Welcome to everybody just starting to plan, and thanks to all you regulars who keep the boards alive! :lovestruc

Howdy All!
My name is Tyra and I am a stay-at-home mom to four kids;ds-9, dd-6, ds-4 and dd-2. I have always had a great love of all things disney. Grew up on the Disney Channel, when it was brand new, and my parents always encouraged us to love all things Disney. I am now doing the same with my kids-movies, books, clothing and of course Disneyland! My dh, Rob, is also a fan. I have loved this board so much. It always seems so positive unlike other boards on the web and I have learned so much. Have a great week!
:grouphug:
Hi I'm Lori (Abby's mom) my dd is 6 and I am a single parent. We leave Friday for our third trip to DL. I discovered these boards while planning our first trip, after our last trip in January (where we both got streph throat) I thought I was disney'ed out for awhile, them, unable to stop myself, back to the boards I came, and next thing you know, I am planning another trip and I think I am more excited then the kid. I work full time at a high stress job, so Mommy loves vacations where the kid and I can just be together and hang out. I always learn a lot here and enjoy the fun and encouragement of others. Thanks for the opportunity to intoduce myself.

Our whole family loves all things Disney and I'm happy my "kids" still love going!! :thumbsup2

Hello from Alberta, Canada!! I am a SAHM to ds, who will be 5 in November. We have taken him to DL the last 3 years in a row, and have gotten better at it each year. I started coming here when I was planning our 1st trip in 2004, but found I used the site, as well as all of you, when planning our latest trip in Sept 2006. Dh says he is Disney-ed out for awhile, and would like to try WDW next. But ds and I could go ever 6 mths and nevr tire of it!! I am currently planning a trip for May of 2008 with my parents, my sister and her famlily, ds and I (dh will sit this one out). I am finding planning for such a large group kind of stressful, and I am getting very close to calling a travel agent to handle the whole thing!!
Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself!!

Hello Everyone :wave2:
My name is Rosie and I live in Portland Oregon. I have been married for 23 years to my husband James and we have two beautiful daughters, one is 20 years old (Tara) and the other is 22 (Zena). My first trip to DisneyWorld was when they were 6 and 8. I think I was as excited as they were as it had always been a dream of mine since I was little. My older daughter and husband aren't Disney fans....I know, I know...I hear all the booing...BUT they are incredibly supportive of me and my adventures. Tara and I took a trip to DW last year and had the best time. We are planning a trip again for December and I have been frequenting these boards for months, planning and schememing. Tara has been in NYC these last three months and this will be a great oppurtunity for us to have time together.
Thanks to everyone for all their help.

Hi...I'm Leigh, and a fresh newbie. ;) I found this site a week ago or so and lurked :surfweb: a few days before signing up. DH and I don't have any kids of our own but I have the awesome job of spoiling my nieces(DN7 & DN5) rotten! My sister and I have been lifelong DL junkies, we started going there for vacation in 1976! We've trained the girls well, both are die-hard Disney girls, taking them the last time in April '06.
This coming trip to DL has been kept TOP SECRET, DN7 has a birthday coming up on 11/3 and the only thing she has asked for is to go to DL so she can ride POTC since it wasn't open on our last trip. We've told her repeatedly that we simply CAN'T swing that kind of trip so close to Christmas. Neither one has a clue, we're just going to shock them when we show up to check them out of school. Keeping this secret has been by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life!!
This site has so much information, thank goodness...I'm a plan-a-holic. We're leaving all the guys at home this time around and are looking forward to our "chick trip". :smooth:
Thanks so much for the chance to get to know some of the wonderful people here!

Hello! My name is Stella and I hail from southern California. I am married to a Disney freak and we have a 2 1/2 year old son. We are at Disneyland about every 2 weeks, and I have to say it's 100 times better when you see it through the eyes of a child. Who knew the tram ride in from the garage could be so exciting?!? I enjoy this board because it makes me feel so lucky to live so close to the happiest place on earth! I hope I can help you visitors feel the magic and feel welcome here in our little corner of heaven.

Hi. I'm Kaye and I live on Long Island with my DH, DS11 and DS19 (who is away at college in Boston). I joined the Dis boards 3 years ago, but this past month has been my first experience with the Disneyland forum. We have been to WDW several times and DLParis once. My dream is to visit all the parks in all the countries. We weren't going to take a trip this year, but we had a house fire this past July and have been living in a rental house after spending a month living in a hotel. We won't be back in our home until spring at the earliest. This has been very stressful and awful but we count our blessings to be alive. We decided we needed to plan something fun during the Christmas break (DH and I are both teachers). DH is a little Disneyed out, but whenI suggested DL and that we could spend some time in LA as well, he liked the idea. So we are all going and taking our DS19 girlfriend along. She was only at WDW when she was 4 and doesn't remember it so this will really be her "first real" visit. I am so excited about taking someone there for their first visit.
The people here have been incredible and I can't say enough how much I appreciate the great advice and suggestions. I love to plan trips and can spend hours upon hours at the computer researching :surfweb: . This is by far my best resource. I have even posted questions on the community board when we travel someplace other than Disney.
Thanks Mary Jo for starting this thread. I loved reading all the posts. :thumbsup2

Hello, everyone! :wave2:
My real name is Michelle, and I've been married to Mr. Incredible (yes, he has a shirt that says so) for 13 wonderful years. We have two funny little boys, DS6 and DS2. I worked full-time until deciding a year ago to stay home with the boys, and though I miss the adult interaction, I'm really enjoying the extra time with my kids.
I grew up watching the Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday evening, and longed to go to Disneyland, but my folks just couldn't afford it. But don't feel too sorry for me, because my family and I just returned a few weeks ago from our first trip to Disneyland! It was an incredible experience for me, really a lifelong dream come true.
I am still journaling the trip, trying to remember and capture every little detail. DH jokes, "Honey, it was only 8 days!" I had intended to write a trip report, but the journal is quite long, so maybe I can give a Reader's Digest version once it's done.
We are hoping to take our 2nd trip to Disneyland next year, WOOHOO!

Hi Fellow Dis Friends :wave2:
My name is Linda, I am 45 and work as a HR/Payroll Administrator here in the Inland Empire. I stumbled upon these boards when I was planning our first family trip (DH, DD-almost 20 & myself) to WDW in 1999. I have been a Disney freak ever since and visit this site several times a week - the DL and Community sections are my fav's. I feel fortunate to live about an hour from DL but let me tell you, every single trip for me is special. We spend the night for 2-4 nights (both on and off-site) 3 times per year and we go for day trips another 3 or 4 times a year. I appreciate and admire so many people on these boards for their knowledge, friendliness and ability to make me laugh. Mary Jo is one of those people - and I agree with her comment about HydroGuy, he is the best! Thanks for reading....and speaking of that, I absolutely love trip reports

Hi! My name is Nicole. My Dear SIL introduced me to the Dis a while ago and now I am totally hooked. I love to read about others plans and trips. My husband of 10 yrs and I live in Eugene Oregon, but my DSS(12) lives 8 hours closer to DL than us. :sad1: Yet I have been the only one to take him to Disneyland. And I belive he is addicted also. I am currently trying to convince DH to drive down to Bakersfield to visit his Grandmother (who hasnt seen DSS since he was 2 1/2!) and since we would be a shorter distance from DL we could go there also. We were there in Jan. He isnt quite as freaky about DL as I am. Luckly I share my love with DSS and SIL! I have seen lots of DL tee shirts lately. The park is calling me big time!! :rolleyes1

Hi everyone! We are a family of 4 (DH 42; DS 13; DD 11; and myself, 41) and from Honolulu, Hawaii. We were able to take our kids to Disneyland (their first trip off the island) two years ago, Dec. 2004. We all fell in love with Disneyland and were fortunate enough to make it back last year at the same time. We love December in DL, the weather is nice and cool and it's all dressed for Christmas! I was fortunate enough to find the DIS boards while planning our first trip, the things I have learned here are far more valuable than any book I have ever read. I am now praying and planning for another trip this December, this time we want to try to go to S.F. and the Central Coast. If you all don't already know about it, there are other trip planning forums on this board. Mary Jo was kind enough to direct me there and it has been so helpful in planning our next trip.
Aloha!

Hi all,
I'm Kylie from Sydney Australia. I have a DD 4 and DH. Our trip to DL is planned for September 2007 to coincide with DD's 5th birthday. It will be DD's 1st international trip, DH's 2nd trip to the US (he was there about 18months ago for NAB Las Vegas Conference), and their first times to DL.
I was lucky enough to travel to DL in 1977 (for my 5th birthday), 1982, and 1990 with my parents each time. I also visited WDW in 1978.
when I found out I was preg nearly 5 years ago I said to DH we'll take DD to DL for her 5th birthday, and that's what we are (well, more me) planning now.
DD is most looking forward to meeting at this stage Snow White, Buzz and Woody, and would like to meet Jasmine so she can suggest to Jasmine "she can cover her tummy and not get sunburnt"!!!! DD also wants to meet Jo Jo from Playhouse.
I'm an advance planner!!!
Cheers

Hello everyone. My name is Heidi, although I am not a newbie to the Disboards, I am a newbie to the DL forum. My mom got me hooked on the Disboards a few years ago, I first thought she was crazy and now I am hooked. I started to research DL a few weeks ago because I will be going in 22 days. I am so excited because I haven't been to DL in over 15 years (I was very little at that time) and I have only been to DL 2 times. My SO other has never been to DL, so we are so excited we can hardly stand it. I am a WDW vet and have that place memorized but with DL I have no clue and I willingly admit that.
My SO and I just got back from a dream vacation in September, we spent 5 days at WDW and then went on the 10 day DCL southern caribbean cruise. To think I will be spending 3 days at DL and DCA just a couple months after amazes me. I am thrilled.
I live in Littleton, Colorado and work for the Federal Government. I am a Human Resources Specialist. I don't have any kids but my SO has twin DD's(9) and my twin sister has twin DD & DS (16 months) so I consider them all my kids!!!!

Hello there. My name is Mike and I to am a Disneyhollic. Both my fiance and I have been Premium Ap holders for a few years now and go as much as we can. Even if it's just to pop in for dinner or a quick ride on the Haunted Mansion. We live close enough to the park to see the fireworks (if I climb up on my roof!). Found the DIS a couple of months ago while doing some research on Disney World. That is the location of our upcomming honeymoon in March and we can't wait.

Hi, my name is Kim and I'm a Disneyaholic! :wave2:
We live in Cupertino, Ca and I am mom to DS15 (who, despite his cool teenage persona, is still VERY excited to go on any trip involving the mouse...he even drew me Mickey in Art class last week because the night before I was playing the electrical parade yammering on and on about what else....), DD8 (she will be 9 in November and we are celebrating her b-day on our trip next month...she loves Disney as much as I do and I can't WAIT to celebrate her b-day there) and my awesome DH of 15 years (who doesn't exactly love it like we do, but is a very good sport and has just as much fun as the rest when we're there...although he does an aweful lot of eye rolling before we get there :rolleyes1 ). I found the DIS in 2002 when we took our last trip to WDW and have been quietly lurking sponging in all I can since then. I finally decided to join officially and am trying post more.
We've been to DLR many many times (just recently an adults only anniversary trip for just DH and I this past April...which the kids still don't know about...shhhh they think we just spent the entire time in Hollywood and Huntington Beach :rotfl: They'd be VERY upset if they only knew) & WDW 2 times since 2000. Our next planned trips are to DLR November 17-22nd and then headed over to WDW in April :woohoo: .
I haven't met any DIS'ers yet but hopefully that'll change on one of our upcoming trips! pixiedust:

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and although I'm not a newbie to the boards, it has been about 2 1/2 years since researching our last DL trip. My DH Tony (who I have converted to a Disney freak :thumbsup2 ) and I were married at Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian Resort in WDW this past April  We are now planning on spending our first Christmas as a married couple at Disneyland! We are taking our dd10 and she has no idea about this trip...I can't believe I've kept it a secret this long! :teeth:
DD and I have been to Disneyland 2 times, but this trip will be our first with DH...I can't wait, only 66 more days! :santa:

Hello, I am Chrissy, have been married to Devon for 6 years now. Our twin daughters will be 4 in Jan. I just went back to work full time as Assist Manager at a local bank here in Indiana. I have been going to WDW and have been obsessed since I was about 2. We have taken my daughters to WDW once for their 2nd Christmas and then again back in April. We are headed to DL in a few days.

Hi, I'm Rochelle and I'm a mouseaholic! It has been three weeks since my last fish, on my honor, or may I be chopped up and made into soup. Oops, that's for the Nemo meeting! :teeth:
I'm 26 yrs. old, not married and have no kids (does my boyfriend count as a kid? ;) ). My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 10 yrs. now, so we're practically married. :) He's not quite the disney lover as I am but we always have a good time at the parks together. As long as he has his monte cristo or turkey leg and space mountain, he's the happy camper. :thumbsup2 We both love Billy Hill & the Hillbillies. They always crack us up!
I currently live about an hour~hour and a half away (if the traffic gods are nice) from DL. I've had a Premium AP for about 3 yrs. now and go to the parks at least 1-2 times a month. Disneyland is my stress reliever. When I'm able to escape my cubicle I love going to DL & DCA (especially during the fall and winter). I'm pretty content with just shopping around and grabbing a bite to eat at DL. I also love pin trading with the CM's. It's really awesome :)
I've been on the DIS board for about a year now. I sorta stumbled upon it out of curiosity. I was wondering if there was a site for disney lovers to get information and VOILA! Thanks to the powers of google, I found the DIS board.
I haven't met anyone from the board yet. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet you all (especially you Lynn <disneegrl4eva> ). So many of you have been so helpful and I appreciate all the updates for when I can't go to the parks. :goodvibes

Hello fellow Disney freaks!!
I'm Traci from Sacramento, CA. I'm also kinda new to the DL boards, but not to the DIS boards (I usually cruise the WDW boards planning trips - it's a lot harder to plan a trip all the way in Florida than to someplace within driving distance!).
My husband and I got engaged at DL in January 2005, and spent our honeymoon at WDW in June 2005. We are both 36 years old, no kids. Well...when it comes to Disney, we ARE the kids!
We go to DL about once or twice a year; our next trip will be December 11th. This will be my first time ever going during the holidays!! :hyper:
I've never met any other DIS'ers...do they also carry the alien green Mickey paint chips at DL?? Hope to spot one someday!
Here's me and DH last February at our special spot next to the castle...this is where he proposed!! :lovestruc

Hello all! :wave2: I am 32 yo and I have been married to my wonderful DH :lovestruc for 3 1/2 years, we live in STL and have no children. He was born and raised in the Anaheim area and misses it a lot! He took me to DL for the first time in 2004 and I can't get enough! I found these boards this year while doing some research for DVC after we became members in May. I have gotten an abundance of info from these boards and love to pass along any info I have. I really enjoy just browsing and reading, I am on here almost daily. popcorn::

Greetings All! I'm Rila, 25yrs old and married to my very own Aladdin, but I'll call him Al , for 2 years since this past September. We reside in Fremont, CA (Northern Cali) and hold Annual Passes. We have visited our "second home" about once each month, or at least try to. It's straining on the wallet at times because as much as we'd like to save money, every trip we go all out! We love to be die hard riders and parade/fireworks watchers, but also enjoy the simplicities of walking thru shops, eating a mickey head ice cream, or just sitting on a bench and people watching. But the flip side of it is, we love to party, and a trip isn't complete without a beer from the Wharf area in DCA and/or a shot or two from UVA :woohoo:

Hello DLR DISers. I'm Reggie and I'm 27. I'm actually surprised that I'm not the youngest one here since I've seen so many posts about people and their DS and/or DD. I live approximately 55 miles away from DL, but didn't go for a long time until my girlfriend and I finally became APers for the first time this year on July 4. Before July 4, the last time I was at DL was before they had Fantasmic! My girlfriend and I have been Disney fans for awhile, but mainly for their movies. We didn't really get hooked until our first WDW trip last summer, which is how I actually found the DIS boards. A simple search in google for planning tips to WDW led me to this site. I maily lurked in the WDW boards for the first few months, and started exploring the rest of the boards when we returned from our trip.
We were really close to getting APs last December, but my school and her work schedule conflicted, so we kept putting it off. We finally decided to just do it, and between July 4 and the beginning of September, we went to DLR about 7-8 times. Now that school has started again, we have only been once on Oct. 1. We're going to try to make it out this Saturday night for Fantasmic! and or fireworks, since we're starting to go through Disney withdrawals.
I haven't met anyone from these boards yet, but based on trip reports and such, I know I've been at the parks the same day as a lot of you. Maybe one of these days, we should fill up the Fantasmic! dessert buffet premium seating with all DISers ;) My girlfriend and I are going to try for the balcony for the first time in December.
Hello!!
I'm víctor, from Spain :)
I registered because I'm going to Disneyland next December, and I'm just colleting good information :thumbsup2
nice to be here!

Hi  I'm Maureen. I'm not new to the DIS but I am new to DL BB. My DH and I have been married 16 years. We are both Disney fanatics and are raising 3 little fanatics as well.We have 3 children under 5 including twins( I wish it were 4 but it hasn't happened yet .) We have been to WDW many times and own DVC at BCV. My kids favorite game is "Where is..." and they'll name a ride and you have to name what park its in. One of my twins makes you name the specific land. They pretend the shower stall is the Tower of Terror and recite the ride speel and open the door for you. :rotfl: They also have one of those plastic Little Tykes roller coasters , which is of course Rockin Roll Roller Coaster (which none of them have been on b/c they are all too little. But they think its really cool and big boy) My oldest removed the last piece of track recently to send his brothers into orbit. When I asked what he was doing he said "Its Lights Motor Action!!" :faint:
We are taking them on a surprise trip to DL in April. They call it Walt's House. My DS recently said "You know Mom we should go to Walt's House its the original." So we booked an 8 day trip 4 nights at Disney Hotel and 4 nights concierge at Grand Californian. party: DH and I have never been either so we are soo excited we could just bust. Thanks so much for all the insight if I can ever help you with WDW just ask I love to help. Have a magical day!!!

Hi everybody! I've been on the DIS quite a while, but just started visiting the DL board about a year ago.
I grew up in a family of 4 (with 1 DB)addicted to Disney. We visited WDW for the first time when I was 6. We went a couple of times before our first visit to DL in '79. It was a 3 day weekend and it was the most magical trip. Chex cereal (I believe) had coupons for children to fly free, so we took our first flying trip out to California. We visited a few more times and took our last family vacation with just the 4 of us to DL when my brother and I were both in college.
My parents bought into DVC in '00 and DH, DD (12), and I go to WDW every other year. For the 50th, we decided to go to DL Thanksgiving week with my parents and brother. DH had to work so he couldn't go. It was my first time to DL in 8 years and we all loved it. We stayed at the GCH on the concierge level. I loved getting to see all the Christmas decorations. We especially enjoyed being able to walk between the resorts and the parks.
A luck would have it, DD's dance competition was at the DLH in June. My mom, DD, and I went for 8 days. Again we had a blast and loved seeing the new Pirates updates the week it reopened. Unfortunately, DD's dance team has decided to go elsewhere for competition this year, so who knows when we'll go back. I wouldn't hesitate to go near Thankgiving again and see all the decorations. DH is not quite the Disney addict we are, but I think he would really like DL. We'll see....

Hello,I'm darph.Er sorry,Jim. I live in Tucson Az., the grandpa of 3. I work for a local furniture company as a Loss Prevention officer. While I've been to D/L over 25 times, the rest of my family is catching up fast. Even though we lived in Calif years ago,it wasn't until the late 60s for my first trip to Anaheim. :confused3
Hopefully see some of you @ the " Happiest Place on Earth". :cool1:

I'm Mike from San Antonio, TX, and I've been visiting DL since before I was born (literally, my mom would walk through the grounds while she was still carrying me) We moved away from the Golden State when I was 11, but Disney has stayed in my blood. Sure, I've tried other theme parks and while I love wild rides, every visit makes me pine for another Disney vacation. Luck would have it that my wife and kids support my Mouse Addiction.
I am often torn while reading these boards. The idea that the parks are constantly growing and improving is indeed exciting, but I worry about losing those touches that melt my heart every time (WDW new version of the Enchanted Tiki Room is an excellent example.)
But, in all, I remain pixie dusted.
