We'll be there the first week of January (Dec 31 - Jan 7) -- renting a house offsite. My daughter's 9th birthday is Dec 31st and it was going to be a surprise birthday trip -- but because I doubt we'll be back in April for another birthday trip...we have decided to make this a Christmas present for both girls. Would love to see some lime while we're there!

Did you hear crowded!! Is there a reason for that prediction. I was really hoping for NO Crowds.

I heard there is concern about crowds - from this board (resorts) under January 2007 codes (or somehting like that)

Im hoping it's fine. Im also doing a Mom/Kid only trip - leaving behind my fiance and 15 y/o son to fend for themselves. Im hoping for peachy keen crowds! :thumbsup2

We chose Tues (23rd) thru Sat (27th) hoping that we may get lower crowds and the fact that the DVC points were lower for the most part. Oh, and the Airfare was quite a bit cheaper to fly on Tues and Sat.

We will be at ASMO January 16 - January 28. I chose Jan 22 - Jan 28, since we will be spending one more night during that week than the other. We were at the World last January and had no crowds. I can't wait to go back in good old January. Hopfully it'll be nice and calm like previous years we (DH and I) went. We'll be there 20-27th! Staying at All Star Sports and this time we talked a couple of our friends into going with us, so I absolutely cannot wait! My family of four, my sisters family of four and our Mom and Dad are going Jan. 28 thru Feb. 3. We will be at the P&PP on Feb. 1. This will be our first Jan. trip. Used to going Sept. ,Oct. and early Dec. I hope it is even slower than last Sept. I love to be told I can stay on a ride and go again. This will be my sister's families first time and my parents. Her kids are 5yo and 7yo. Ours are 7yo and 10yo. I am so excited. I cant' wait 89 more days!

We're driving down on January 9th, staying in a studio at Old Key West for $72/night from Tuesday through Thursday, then moving into Port Orleans French Quarter Friday and Saturday nights at AP rate of $99. Sunday the 14th we head for Port Canaveral to board the Disney Wonder for a 4-day Bahamas cruise. Wooohoooo! First cruise for us, and first time staying at POFQ, too. I love new adventures. :Pinkbounc

People are still there after new years and a lot of people come early for the marathon. I am going the 5-13. My aunt goes during these dates every year. She said the marathon doesn't effect the crowds too much. The traffic may be a little heavier. She said the park is still not that crowded.

My mom passed away January 28th this year, so this trip is kind of a way to get our mind off it, in addition to a really cool way to suprise my 11 y/o. I guess maybe a celebration of her life... cuz although we're in WDW, she is in a MUCH cooler place! :cloud9:

So, Im hoping my mom will be looking down on us.... and clearing the parks, while she's at it.......and making some nice sunny days....... and making sure there are some cool souveniers really cheap.... you get the picture! :thumbsup2

So anyone going 1.25-1.28, we should be good since my mom is going to be taking care of matters, from above! :rolleyes1

I am so sorry to hear you lost your mom. I lost mine three weeks ago. It was very unexpected. I know how awful it can be. Hang in there my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am going Jan 5-13ASMO. This trip is a real lifesaver. It really has given me something to look forward to. My mom was going to come with us so we are going to celebrate her life too. It will be sad that she won't be there but I have to tell myself she is in a better place. So I know what you mean.

I have confirmed thru both AAA and Disney that the food court at POR will be closed from Jan. 4 till some time in March....they aren't sure exactly when. They said that some menu items at Boatwright's will be counted as counter service....POFQ will be open.

We are going Jan 13-18th.Second trip with our kids, ages 5 and 7. Our daughter will turn 6 during the trip and we will also be celebrating our son's 8th birthday and our 25th Wedding anniversary. This will be our first solo trip, meaning just our immediate family. Looking forward to that aspect of it.First trip was June 05 and it was too hot, too crowded and too much rain and too many in our party to keep up with. Hoping for less of everything except the magic this time around. We are taking them out of school for the trip,a true sign of Disneymania.
We are going all out this trip, flying down for the first time and staying at a deluxe and the DDP with more fun eating than ever before.
We will be at the Yacht Club Resort, we arrive at 9:30 am , hoping to be at MK by noon, dinner at 7:30 at Crystal Palace. Hope to see some Intercotees around. :wave2:

Last year we stayed during the marathon weekend. Crowds are lower after the next day after. The only problem is getting around during the marathon, mostly in the morning, but later in the day all comes back to normal. As with all Disney's event, you may almost never notice that people in the thousands just ran a race there.

It is our 2nd trip to WDW and we are taking my in-laws who have never been before. We all can't wait. It is a great escape to chase off those post-Christmas blues.

Oh man... that's to bad about RnRC. I like Splash Mountain but it wasn't on the must do list this trip. I really wanted to do RnRC though as I've only done it once before. I guess I can hope that it's still open when we're there but I suppose I shouln't count on it.

someone asked about the crowds, well we just made our ADR's yesterday and got everything we wanted for the times we wanted, so that to me is a good indication that it should be pretty light to moderate. Let's hope so anyway:wizard:

CPLOFDISNEYNUTZ, Thanks for the great news about ADR's. We changed two of our ADR's last week and we got to pick our time at Narcooses on 1/28 and our time at Chefs on 1/30 and both of those ADR's were for 10 people! I really hope the crowds will be like they were for our Sept. trip when we could stay on the rides and I hope the good weather keeps up.

according to one of the tour guides I purchased , It is the least busiest week of the month. Low crowds!

We are taking our kids (DS3 and DD2) for their first trip to WDW (been to DL the last couple years since some fam is out there). We'll be there 1/28 - 2/2. Staying at the Carribbean Beach Resort. Every time we put my son's shoes on lately he asks if we are "going to see Mickey now" :lmao: . I can't wait.

I'd love to meet other Disers. Just got my LGMHs today. My DH was in a town that has a Home Depot & got them for me (we don't have one where we live) today.

Our family includes DD 4 & DS 2 (going before we have to pay for him in April)!

We thought we'de squeeze in a trip before DS turns three in May and DD turns ten in the summer:rotfl: .

We had booked at ASMo but changed to Pop when we found out that the pool was going to be closed.

I've got my LGMH's all set to adourn the stroller and diaper bag. Maybe we'll run into each other in the parks:wave2: .

We are staying at ASMo - we thought the kiddos would LOVE it! We are traveling with Me, DH, DS 14months, SIL, BIL, & 2 neices 3 & 14 months. Can't wait!!!!!:yay:

We are home. :sad1: It was a great trip though.

So who is going in March????? We are! (but only for a mini trip.)

We saw a number of mickey heads, and a few we talked too. We met Simba's mom and mommyeoe. Very cool! I wore my mickey head on my landyard for the 1st time and meet a few people that way.

This is a last minute add on vacation to WDW because of a last minute invitation to a meeting at universal studios on the 26th and 27th. Just can't be in Orlando and not visit. I just would not get to feel the magic if we went only to Universal. We are taking my DS 6 for the 2nd time and my DD 2 for the first!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is so excited ! Everyday she wakes up and says Katies going to Disney World!

I had planned for us to have a pool day this coming Wednesday (the middle of our vacation) but the weather report says it is going to cool down to a high of only 60. I know the pools are supposed to be heated. Should I reschedule our pool day? Has anyone gone to the pool when it has been cold outside? :confused3

We were there last year in Feb during a cold snap. The highs were in the 60s and low 70s. No one was swimming in the hotel pools and when the bus ran through Blizzard Beach it looked like when Chevy Chase drove up to the closed amusement park! I'll be there were 4 cars in the parking lot.

But, my friend went the week after we did and the temps were back in the high 70s/low 80s and they swam in the pool and went to BB too.

The pools are heated, but the air sure feels cold if you get out wet in the 60s or low 70s!

Maybe we will luck out and have a warm, sunny afternoon. I hope so! We will be there all next week too!

I'll take low temps over those 100 degree temps in the summer though. We can go to the beach, water park or pool anytime! Disney is awesome in the winter!
