We just got home from our vacation at POFQ. One day after we returned from the park, there was someone else's luggage in our room. The name on the luggage was similar to ours, but one letter different. When I called the front desk to tell them they dropped off someone else's luggage to our room they said that they deliver it by NAME! That bothers me, good luck if your last name is Smith or Jones. :confused3

uh yeah, that happened to us too. We were traveling with my MIL and she flew a different airline, from a different location, arrived at a different time, and stayed in a different room. We had three bags, she had one. We got hers and our two and she got none. We called as soon as we found this out and they brought up our other one. My question... didn't they wonder why there was no luggage for her? Our 3 bags looked alike, hers was totally different. Anyway I guess the same last name thing really threw them.

It's even worse if you're name happens to be Mike Smith  I have a family friend who went on a business trip and was given a room that someone else was ALREADY staying in, bceause their name was the same.
If you have a common name, be sure to double and triple check your bookings with your hotel.

We have a family of Reinhardt's in our church - it's not THAT uncommon. Nice folks!

Just confirms for me that I'm taking my luggage with me. I have a pretty common name and I would hate to have someone else get my luggage!

I also know 2 other different Reinhardt's. So, I bet it's a more common name than you think!

My last name is Miller, one of the most common out there. Boyfriend's last name is Wierl (pronounced whirl like a whirlpool tub). That one's a lot less common so I hope things will be easier when we get married, even though I plan on hyphenating.

Did she sing in a gospel group "The Reinhardt's"? I enjoyed their music! I haven't heard that last name very much either.

No. The only connection she has to that side of her family is her last name. My mom was married twice to deadbeats. We each have a different father and different last names. (the 70s were some crazy times LOL)

We are Michael and Katy Smith. We haven't had problems in the past, but we had our luggage with us when we checked in. This could spell trouble....

Never thought I would actully be happy to be stuck with Heidbreder! I didin't think I would have time to do a neam change between our wedding and the honeymoon so the reservation is for me with my madien name and DH2B with his name which is a bit more common. So for once my crazy name might serve me well.

ohhh jeeze I am going from Lewis to Bailey from one common name to the next. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse my first name is Elizabeth! HA~~~~ Good thing I have a very unique middle name and I use it frequently!

This has nothing to do with Disney but about a lot of the same last name at a hotel. The weekend before last my husbands Uncle got married. We all got a wedding rate and stayed at a very nice hotel. The only problem was almost all of us had the same last name. The bride and groom stayed in the bridal suite, the grooms sons and all their children, the grooms brothers and their families etc....
When it was almost time to leave for the wedding I called the front desk to order a cab, the poor woman says..... "Let me guess, Schwartz right?" LMAO
WE did have any mishaps or missing luggage that I know of but we sure had fun.

Sorry...ready the stories about mixed luggage got me thinking about it.

My last name was Jones, until getting married.

Of course my last name now isn't as common, but it is pretty close. (just harder to spell.)

Would you believe that I married a Jones and 4 years later my DSis maried a Smith. We often travel to WDW together, and have not had any trouble yet.

Well I don't think the last names of Major or Piliero will be causing any problems! At least I hope not. . . :rolleyes1 Guess I'll be double checking anyway!
