i was just wondering if the DTD scrapbook store has the new disney scrapbook stuff... like the safari mickey, and the other new stuff i saw on one of these threads:)

I havent been able to find them yet at my LSS and i hope to find them Wednesday when im in DOWNTOWN DISNEY!

thanks in advance!

I wouldn't bank on finding them there. Those new stickers are from EK Success, which i do not believe they sell in the parks.. The only scrap stuff you will find in the store in wdw, is theme park stuff..
Sorry!

that really sucks. I was hoping to find them there! It suprises me that disney wouldn't sell that kind of stuff, especially in their scrapbook store in downtown disney.

not that i don't trust you, but does anyone know any differently??? I always here different stories on these threads:)

And if it's true, then i guess i'll just have to wait til i get back home to buy the rest of my scrapbook stuff!

Bummer!

Don't expect too much from the store in Downtown Disney. They have really dropped the ball on this store as it could be SO MUCH better than it is. You won't find much here that you can't find at the parks - and that's not saying much either. You will do better at the craft/scrapbook stores or on-line.

I would REALLY love it if Disney could come up with a store with much better product, ideas (layouts made and on the walls or in books), kits to purchase (not just those they sell now) and more die cuts, stickers, stamps, etc. With all the people who go to Disney and all the people who scrapbook, they could make quite a bit of $$$$ from it if they only designed a much better store...

But that's just my opinion! :)

I'm just going on what i have seen the last 2 times i have been there.. It is really not a "scrapbook store" per say.. more frames , albums, and pens than anything..

yes they are the ones i was talking about! I think they are SO cute!

Such a bummer about the DTD store!

The link you gave said Coming Oct. 27th. so does that mean that if my LSS normally sells EK success stuff and Disney stuff, then there is a good chance that they will have them after OCT 27th? We get back the 23rd, and i guess i could wait a week or so to start my scrapbook :lmao:

I would doubt they would have them that fast.. saying this only cuz i have worked in a lss, and i know how backordered things can get, especially the new stuff.. I would be very surprised to see them that soon..
You would probably have better luck online finding them..

I don't know about the LSS but I know online stores get them faster. The last 2 sets of NEW products shipments I got michaels, acmoore, ragshop and my LSS still haven't got. I think because LSS are limited on buyers they don't sell their products faster than online stores this is why they are always behind on the newer stuffies.

Mousememories.com is really good with having new Disney stickers, papers and other scrapbook items in stock. I've placed several orders with them and have always had a great experience getting everything quickly. They have the best supply of Disney stickers I have ever found in a store or on-line and post new Disney items a few times a month.

No, it's not b/c of their shortage of buyers,or b/c their inventory moves slower than an online store, it's because the bigger chain stores have the $$$ and who would you ship first to - someone placing an order for thousands and thousands (ie the chains) or someone placing an order for a few hundreds (the lss).. It really is sad, but that's how the scrapbook world works with the big companys. :guilty: Unfortuately, i have seen how this business works, and that is why i am glad i am out of it, and that i only scrap for fun.. ;)

I'm an online store and don't buy thousands and thousands at a time. I get my orders (with no backorders) each and everytime i place an order from EK & sandylion etc. Michaels, ac moore and ragshop never have the newest items, this is just stupid on their part. I just figured online stores have more of an customer area to buy from them than the LSS. oh well guess I was wrong, wasn't the first time that happened LOL

I'm going to take some massive pictures of all the merchandise they have at the DTD store when I visit next month. Then maybe we can start a thread, and keep it updated with new pics, so people can see everything they sell. I was going to do this anyway, because I want to know what I'm looking for if I buy Capture the Magic stuff online.

It's surprising they don't sell a lot of stickers. I was "checking out" scrapbook materials the last couple of trips (though I never got to the DTD store), and I thought I had seen some of them throughout the parks - WS, etc. - for scrapbooking. Did I totally make that up? LOL. One would think they'd have a set of stickers for every dang attraction (like pins) and they'd make $ hand over fist.

the stuff sold at the parks is whats in the DTD store. The DTD scrapbooking section is not all that big so if you missed it don't worry about it I'm sure you saw the items in a resort or in a park. It's the same items the park and resort stores just have a smaller section. Say if you found the MK paper pack in MK you won't find it in Epcot but you will find the epcot one in epcot. But if you went to the DTD store you would find both there.
Am i talking clear or in circles againLOL

i understand what you're saying.

It really is a bummer about disney scrapbooking. Oh well, i guess that means its time for my creative jusices to start flowing.

Maybe i should open up a DTD scrapbook store that has EVERYTHING DISNEY, rides, hotel stuff, plane, train, automobile (monorail, Magic express, etc) you name it, it would have it.

Im taking a business mgt. course at my college and we have to make a business plan for a business we open.... i think i may have just found mine. :lmao:

Also if you have an AP or a Disney Visa you can get 10% off at the World of Disney store. Most of the scrapping items they carry at this store as well.

I am very sad to read that the DTD scrapbook store isn't much to see. That is one of the things I have been looking forward to for my trip in December. I figured I would be spending a small fortune there buying stuff for my scrapbook. Oh well, my husband will certainly be happier now. I am sure I will buy something but I guess I will be purchasing most of my stuff elsewhere. I have already started "collecting" buying stuff at home in Ottawa, Canada in dollar stores and my scrapbooking Store, Endless Memories. Thanks for the advance notice about the store. I will tone down my expectations now and hopefully won't be all that disappointed.

You sorry to shoot your hopes down. I just hate to see people talk about going there and how excited they are about it. And when they get there it's like what this is all there is LOL
I like to give a little warning about. It is a nice place but not what people expect.

Does anyone know if those spiral-bound 40-page "Capture the Magic" 12x12 paper packs are still available at the DTD store? I found out that this is the set that contains the park map papers, and I *REALLY* want to get ahold of them.

Does anyone know if they still carry them, or how much they are? I am crossing my fingers that when I go in Nov they still have these, and double triple crossing that they still have some of the HCOE paper packs.

I'm pretty sure they still had those at the beginning of September. They are $15 and the SKU is 400174781154. You can order by phone, fax or email, but shipping isn't cheap.

Unfortunately, Disney seems to be going through one of their phases where they shrink their inventory, so there seemed to be less scrapbook stuff in the store then there was in December.

Thanks so much for the advice, guys. I actually emailed WDW a few days ago (their response time seems about five days lately, I sent one about something else I wanted to purchase a few weeks ago and the same thing happened) so I'm waiting to see what they say.

Thanks again, everyone! :)

During our first vist to WDW, we left Downtown Disney until our last night and the scrapbooking store was going to be our last stop so that we wouldn't have to carry all the packages I was planning on leaving with all over the place.

It was such a huge disappointment that I began to cry and lashed out at DH when he tried to calm me down.

Now, we both know better! :) When I jokingly said I would need a huge suitcase for my scrapbooking purchases on our upcoming trip, he just gave me 'the look'. He then said that last time I was so let down, and not to get my hopes up. He looked at me and realized I was joking!

The worst part is that I had a friend who had been there a few months earlier and she raved about the store. She must have been hallucinating from the heat!

Disney has no idea that scrapbooking is a billion dollars a year business and they could make a killing. I would pay extra for exclusive stuff that was just what I needed.
