I am planning on laminating my LGMHPC's and bought some small laminating sheets, also want to laminate small park maps to keep folded in my bag.

Do you think contact paper would work for laminating the larger sheets? Or is Kinkos or Staples the way to go?

Any laminating suggestions?

I wouldn't bother with the contact paper. If you really want to laminate the maps, then I would get them done at a place that does laminating. I noticed that this is your first trip in a long time...so I'll just mention that if want to laminate the maps to keep them nice during your trip, that you don't need to worry about that - there are maps everywhere & you can pick up new ones at anytime. (Even laminated ones are going to get messed up during your trip).

If you want to keep some as souvenirs, then I would grab a few new ones on your last day to take home & THEN laminate.

You are going to have a great time!! Have fun!

If you laminate the maps, how will you carry them? They are pretty big unfolded. Just pick up a new one when you need one. They are all over the place. Nearly every store has maps available.

I was going to laminate the Passporter Maps---not the big Park maps! I like the way everything is marked on the map and not having to refer to a legend. (A friend is giving me the maps from her old Passporter.)

That is a great idea! I'm going to try that...I have my own laminator, though. :thumbsup2

Any tips for folding a map after laminating? Can this be done?
