minor annoyance, but budget people may understand...

Last year got a Tinkerbell tree topper that I LOVED! We hung her and kept her up after Christmas on our kitchen overhead light (too heavy for tree). My dh slipped while bringing in firewood, crashed into her and broke her. Ebay was selling for minimum $60, so I called WDW merchandise number and was very pleased to get a new one for $45 and $9 shipping.

NOW I see her in the Disney catalog for only $28!!

You can return items from WDW to any Store. They probably won't refund the shipping but you would still be better off.

It also may be a different version and therefore more costly.

Call the cataloge and tell them they might refund the difference because it just went on sale

I searched high and low all over WDW for this treetopper during our most recent trip after seeing this treetopper on Ebay last year. Found her on my second trip to 12 Days of Christmas at Dowtown Disney for 45.00, but used the 15% discount with the American Express White Glove Treatment and had them (bought two) shipped home so no sales tax, also bought the Candlelight Processional CD with Phylicia Rashad and a Minnie ballerina ornament. So I figure the shipping applied to the extra two items, but I was dissapointed to see the topper I had searched so hard for at only 28.00 through the catalog and am slightly tempted to return these two to my local DS and then order through the catalog and get them @ 10% off the 28.00 with my Disney Club card . . . . but do I feel like doing, not sure yet????

But remember, the WDW Merchandising number will sell you items from the park for the prices they sell for in the park. They aren't connected to the catalog. I bet the prices in the catalog are always cheaper than the same items in the park.

Thanks for understanding!

Gem, you're right that things are probably more costly in WDW, I guess I just felt so proud that I'm "in the know" and was able to get another! (it is exactly the same item, although the dress is much darker than my first one)

Deana...maybe we should buy another from the catalog (also get 10% off) and sell our others on ebay! :D

It's cool that you can return at a Disney store, that's how I got my Disneyland Tink shirt from a NY store, they just put it in stock.

Just received my two from the Catalog order, (I went ahead and ordered the personalized tree skirt and 2 Pluto draft stoppers). The Tree toppers are identical except the catalog the resin wings are tinted about 2 shades of green darker than the ones I purchased in the parks. Guess I will return the park ones back to my Disney Store. It will make about a 40.00 difference on two of them. Uusally a dollar or two here or there difference isn't too bad and doesn't bother me, but a 45.00 vs. 28.00 difference was kinda steep, especially times two.
