We are in Georgia and plan to visit my parents who live in Florida for Christmas. We thought it might be fun to stay at Hardrock Dec 27th-Jan1st. Because my parents are Florida residents can they purchase tickets for us at the resident rate. Or do you have to have a Florida DL when you check in?
We want to follow the rules of course but it would be nice to receive discount!

 As far as I know, you have to provide proof of FL residency for FL Res tickets/passes/rooms :

*valid Florida ID (Valid Florida ID’s include: Florida driver’s license, Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address), Florida voter’s registration card with corresponding picture ID, or College ID from a Florida college or university)

We just got back from rpr and I also live in Ga , and Ga residents do
get the fl resident discount.
I got the rpr for 159.00 (oct 8th-13th) using the FLO promo, I
am not sure about tickets as we have annual passes, but I would
think you could buy tickets at the fla rate .

If you are booking or just checking rates on universal's site just type
FLO in the promo box or call them direct and let them know that you are a
Ga resident and want to use the fla resident discount.
Have fun!

Booked my reservation and I was told during those dates they do not offer any discounts. Not even a Florida resident discount. But they did say if there was a change I could have the discounts applied to my reservation.
I am excited now. I have never been to the Universal Parks. I have done Disney about 4 times now. My other half and I went to Disney just a few summers ago and he complained about the lack of thrill rides. Hopefully he will enjoy himself at Universal so I can drag him back to Disney again next visit!
