Wow...that first plan seemed really complicated. I couldn't imagine doing that many stopovers in one day.

That reminds me of our trip to Mexico. We use Aeroplan miles to go. This is too funny becasue we live in Calgary. We went from Calgary at midnight no less and arrived in Toronto at 6am Toronto time. We had a 4 hour layover in Toronto then got on a plane to Mexico City. Due to weather in Toronto we were late arriving in Mexico City and missed our connecting flight and they had to put us up at the Marriott(I think it was the Marriott..it was swanky nontheless) at the Airport. We then had to get up and catch our connecting flight to Huatulco. You would think we could just fly straight south LOL....NOOOO that would be too easy! We had to fly all the way east before we could fly all the way back west and south again. In the end they saved no money because of the hotel stay and the very nice dinner they bought us! To make a very long trip short we cancelled our Aeroplan card and cashed all the miles in for gift cards. Now we use our Platinum Mastercard and the points have a cash value that we use as a trip credit. We have enough points for my flight and our hotel in DL next November. My DH is there on a conference and I am going to join him at the end...no kids and we are going to do 2 days at DL. WOOOHOO! Would you believe I have not been to a real bar in 7 years! Drinks at Boston Pizza and before the hockey game in the lounge just dont count LOL. I can hardly wait to just go for drinks with DH! Okay I will end my tangent now !

I've found it almost impossible to use Aeroplan points for flights.

I know this is off topic but ooooooooooooooh a blue and gold...is it yours?

IT was sched change, on top of sced change, on top of sched change...
*And*, because I'm doing a weekend stopover in YYC, they wouldn't permit an aiport "layover" of more than 4 hours (because that would count as the stopover  )
ORIGINALLY, when I booked a month ago:
Had to book the milk run, originally, and hope that with the combination of multiple schedule changes, they would be willing to put me on the flights that I selected from the aeroplan booking page...
Because...
... of computer software difficulties with the stopover vs. layover time issues, I had to call the call centre, and was absolutely denied a waiver of the $30 fee for booking (even though it's their software issues which cause you to be booted out of the system when you're booking flights with stopovers and long layovers... )
Anyway!;)
Yes, it can be *that* much of an impossibility to book aeroplan flights, but AirCanada is the only option for flights for us out of Sydney -otherwise, it's the drive to YHZ to try to connect with WestJet...
...which is why we're driving to Portland ME, to give JetBlue a try for Christmas (well, that and the $99 fares!! LOL! )
If you're still with me - thanks for reading! - and hopefully, all is well with my flights from here on out!!:teeth:

Are you referring to the parrot? No. It's just a pic I found with Google.
We've had great service with Aeroplan. Just came back from Hawaii and had executive class direct from Toronto to Vancouver to Oaha. Great service, great flights! No booking issues. We use it a lot to go to Orlando. You just have to book well in advance.

mbb - I feel your pain! Here are our flights for our trip next April - St. John's - TO-Washington - Orlando. The return is Orlando-Chicago (O'Hare) - TO (overnight)- St.John's.
I booked these in early June! However, I would much rather have a milk run flight to Orlando than no flight at all!

MBB,
You will LOOOOOOOOOVE JetBlue! We flew to Boston on AC / Aeroplan and then hopped the $79 jet blue fares to Orlando just last May. That way you avoid the nice schedule problems with AC and you get to Boston for 30,000 for both.
