View Full Version : It's DVC for the AKL!

The announcement has been made about the next DVC resort and it's not the Contemporary!

It's the Animal Kingdom Lodge! They are going to be a mix of new construction and renovated buildings.
It will begin opening in fall 2007 and be complete in 2009. :thumbsup2

Hmmm I wonder , what is the minimum add on?

Might be worth enquiring when we are on the DCL med cruise july 2007 - :rolleyes:

I also like the AKL but it's so far away from most places. Nice for a few days though.

I also read the orlando sentinal .Very happy :Pinkbounc about AKL stayed there last year and loved it .I hope they put another pool though as it is always busy.Good for a few days .

mmmm .... just read that mammoth thread across on the US boards. Quite tempting ....

We've stayed at AKL and must have had one of the furthest rooms from the lobby available - boardwalk has not got a look in, so hopefully the dvc part of vak (villas at animal kingdom??) will not have the same problems.

Our room was literally an 8 -10 min walk to the lobby/shops etc (mind the views do slow you down ;) )

However, we have been thinking of adding on, so ........

Its my favorite resort, would have waited to buy this rather than SSR if I had known a couple of months ago. do you think there will be much chance in July/August when its up and running.

Yes! Have been thinking about buying into DVC for a while - maybe this is what we were waiting for??? :cool1:

They are supposed to add another pool (something big like SAB) a new restaurant, and more. I am not sure I will want to stay anywhere else for quite a while once it is done.
