Okay. I leave in 8 days. I have to:
Decorate my tree that's sitting in the living room
Help Alan cook Thanksgiving dinner (I'm his kitchen assistant :D )
Finish up my Christmas shopping (just a few items)
Buy an ornament from this area
Pick out my clothes and add them to the growing pile of things to take
Buy an atlas
Hit the open highway :D :bounce: :smooth:
The good thing about a solo road trip is I don't have to worry about feeding the kitties, or stopping the mail and newspaper, etc. :p
I just realized I didn't actually type pack in the above list. I can't just throw all the stuff in my trunk or can I? :p

Buy batteries for PDA, CD Player, Digital Camera

Thanks Dayna,
I forgot about stopping the mail.

You're welcome, Pat. Let's see what people should stop: mail, newspaper, bottled water delivery, frozen food delivery. Hmmm. I can't think of anything else.
Steve, we won't tell Bandit he's going to a k-e-n-n-e-l. ;)

The people down the street from me have Schwann's http://www.schwanns.com/ deliver food to them all the time. I've often wondered what he does with it if she isn't home. She has deliveries about once a week. Now, before anyone accuses me of being nosy, remember I have too much time on my hands. :p

Okay, I leave in 10 days and I have to:
* Finish Christmas Shopping/Wrapping
* Decorate for Christmas (next weekend :) )
* Mail a box ahead so I don't have to worry about it getting lost with the luggage
* Read some holiday stories on tape, so my kids will still hear my voice right before bed
* Buy and Charge Batteries
* Make a few more 'sign's to put up for DH and the kids :D
* Program all of your phone numbers into my cell phone
* Get a few addresses so I can send postcards to my kid's classes, and a few other friends
* Finish my holiday cards
* Help my parents put up their lights before Thanksgiving (this is low on my list because DH can help them while I'm gone. ;) )
* See some friends and family for Thanksgiving
* Clean the house from top to bottom
* Tell DH how to check our checking account  And show him where the heck everything is.
* Make my MouseKeeping envelopes!!!!
* Get my 'final wishes' letters notarized--just in case something happens to me
Okay, I think that's all. :D Not bad, hunh? ;)

Tia, I had to take a nap just reading your list. ;) :p This one is sweet: * Read some holiday stories on tape, so my kids will still hear my voice right before bed & this one is funny: * Tell DH how to check our checking account And show him where the heck everything is. I plan on giving Alan a Tivo lesson before I go so he can record stuff if he needs to. I would teach him how to use the v.c.r. , but I leave in 8 days.
ATTENTION: THE PRECEDING POST DOES NOT CONTAIN MAN BASHING. I AM JUST MAKING FUN OF ONE OF MY HUSBAND'S FOIBLES. I'M SURE IF HE HUNG OUT ON THE DIS YOU WOULD KNOW ALL OF MY FOIBLES. I'M VERY LUCKY THAT HE DOESN'T. :p ;) :D

Dayna, funny you should mention 'man bashing' because some people are completely DISGUSTED that I have so little faith in my DH. Trust me, Ed NEEDS/WANTS/WELCOMES/and probably IGNORES  my lists. :D

I'm with you, Tia. Not every person in every household knows everything. :) I help him out. He helps me out. I would never bash him. He's a wonderful hubby. I love him. :D

Awwwww! That's sweet Dayna! :D
I forgot one myself:
Program the Tivo so that I don't miss the last Garth special, Survivor, Oprah (yes....Oprah....do I lose my "real man" badge for that one?? :D)
I still haven't figured out how to transfer from the Tivo to the VCR, but that will have to wait for another day...

Thanks, Steve. :o No, you don't lose your real man badge. :D
http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/soapbox.gif While I'm on that subject why is it that our friends make me feel like I'm a loser wife because Alan cooks? He loves to cook. I do not. He's a fabulous cook. I'm not. I take care of all the electronic gadgety things around the house. Does that make him a loser husband? Of course not. Okay. Rant over. I'll step off my soapbox now. :D
I'm about to go Christmas shopping, Steve. I'm sure you could figure out how to save it to VCR, but it might be quicker if I just tell you. I can e-mail you instructions if you wish when I get back. Just let me know. :D

Make sure to empty any newly 'not-permitted' items from previously used carry-ons'.
Wow, that's great! You guys are really organized. :)
I did some serious packing last night. I'm just waiting on the weather report before I throw in the shorts and tank tops. Everything else (except toiletries) is all ready to go.
So, here goes:
Put up Christmas lights (tomorrow)
Have all house bills paid and ready to be mailed
Have all business bills paid and ready to be mailed
Do more Christmas shopping
Pick up more film
Deliver Avon orders
Place new Avon order early
Organize pins (picked up some new ones to trade)
Organize paperwork that's going with me
Make sure all laundry is caught up and the boys at home have clean underwear and socks
Buy an ornament for exchange, and now one for Pete
I'm sure there are a ton of little things that I need to do, but I can't think of them right now. They will pop into my head in the middle of the night!
Don't worry about the man bashing thing. Every male in my house in incapable of thinking for themselves once they walk through the door! It's not man bashing when it's the truth! :D
Steve, I can handle you watching Oprah, but Britney Spears?!?!? ICK!

I have to prepare a loooong list to help my kids' dad. He is moving in during the time I stay away. As the school year finishes, he must remember to pay the tuition, registering taxes, etc for our three little angels. I have to clean my work desk throughly. Before leaving I must do a huge grocery shopping and leave the menu with the maid. I am taking the kids to a Harry Potter premiere tommorrow (the movie is going to start here only on Friday). I still have to do some internet shopping with them to decide about gifts -- I always do toys shopping though the net bc they can choose what they want and I don't get crazy looking for the stuff. Son #2, the darling, wants lego and that is definitely easy to provide even without ordering in advance.

I was kidding about the Britney Spears. She a total t***p in my book anyway. :D
Thanks for the offer Dayna, but I'm just gonna leave the VCR bit for another time. I've done it once before (for the Tony Awards) I think, but getting in back of the home theater just about does me in anyway.
I'm not a cook at all. But I bake like crazy. Matter a fact, way back when I used to decorate cakes for a living. This year, I'm doing Christmas cookies to give to friends and co-workers, I think. By the time I'm done, there'll be flour all over me and Bandit.....

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
What do I have to do? I need to buy a tree. Need a new artificial, long story, but real trees don;t do well with my 4-legged kids!
need to decorate the tree
move my office to the first floor
charge all the electronics
buy film (did that today)
get cash
confirm travel (does anyone worry that they will arrive in disney and there is no reservation for them!!! I do!)
get cell numbers programmed
update palm with info for discon
finish itinerary
let's not talk about work stuff!
pack! (I obsess about packing, what if I bring all the wrong clothes for the weather, what if I forget something...) and then I remember, I have credit cards!!
I can't wait for this trip! All the above will make the days go faster until we are there!

I noticed some of you have buying/bringing film on yours lists. May I make a recomendation. Take your film out of the canisters and put the film into a clear ziploc bag and carry it in your carry-on NOT your checked luggage. When you get to the security at the airport ask for a hand inspection of your film (and camera if there is film in it). With all the additional security, film is really taking a beating on the x-ray machines. I know of a handful of poeple whose pictures were ruined becuase of the x-rays. Atleast with your carry on you have a good chance of being granted a hand inspect, you have no control on the amount of radiation your checked lugage will be exposed to. I have never had a problem at Newark or Orlando airports with requesting a hand inspect. But please remember airport security DOES NOT have to grant a hand inspect respect. So it doesnt hurt to be as pleasant as you can and with your biggest Im going to Dis-Con smile.
Or even a better option, if your in a position to do so. Would be to buy film once you get to Orlando and have it developed while your there. This way you avoid all exposure risk.

 I think what I'd better do is to make a list of everything I have to do between now and Fri. evening, since we are leaving very early on Sat!
Thanks for the suggestion about the film, tiggr33! :) I think I'll put the ziplock of film in my purse, & just pull it out with my keys to be inspected.

As I read these lists I feel completly unprepared. However, first I have to go to Boston for Thanksgiving. Then I worry about the next trip!
However, what is the deal with the Christmas ornaments? Did I miss something I was suppose to do? (It would not be the first time?)
I also have to make my hotel reservation! I am spending some nights of DISCON with my dad, but I need a room for at least Saturday!
