AAA and WL

I was currently booked at POFQ in a standard room through AAA. I had to shorten my trip by a night so I wanted to change it to WL thinking it would only be about a 300 dollar difference. When I called AAA they said they can only give me a courtyard room with the AAA discount not a standard (but standard rooms were avalible). Now it is about a 600 difference. Has anyone had trouble booking a standard room through AAA? Is it different if you call Disney and just give them your AAA #?

I think that the availability is getting taken up. wouldnt hurt to call disney and see what they have...

keep trying I read often here how someone kept calling and finally got what they wanted because of a cancelllation.
