Stay away from it. We've had several attacks here lately and unfortunately some of them have ended in loss of life.
DO NOT RUN if it's outdoors and sees you.
Actually, check the local ordinances in your town/village/city... There may be a leash law. If there is, and the dog is loose, then call the authorities and have it picked up.
Just be very cautious. They are quite strong and surprisingly fast.
Sorry to barge in on the Teen board, but I've been attacked and bitten badly by dogs, so it's a very sensitive topic with me!

Stay inside.
It will be put down. Just stay inside until animal control gets to it.

Thats terrible! Stay inside until Animal Control comes.
I had a nightmare about being attacked by a pit bull, it still scares me to this day.
Just stay inside and wait for the animal control. That's what I would do. :guilty:

I don't usually check into the teen boards, but I saw the subject line and had to jump in!
I sleep with two pitbulls on a regular basis, as do my two children! Don't believe everything the media spins.... I would fear ANY loose dog I didn't know, especially one that may look desperate. Call the police and don't provoke any dog!
American Temperament Test Society-- Compare the American Pitbull Terrier to other breeds that have over 500 dogs tested as well. (http://www.atts.org/statistics.html)
Some TRUE Pitbull stories NOT spun by the media! (http://www.defend-a-bull.com/positivelypit.html)
Just had to do my part to educate anyone willing to read about this misunderstood breed. It's the owners that are mean and make them nasty, not nature!
Stay smart and stay safe!

we had a pitbull loose in the neighborhood a couple of years ago, and everybody thought it would attack them. But I knew the owners and the dog was really nice. If the dog has already killed a dog, its probably dangerous. Just stay away from it and wait for animal control to come.

Do what they said.
I'm not afraid of pit bulls or any dog unless they give me a reason. Please don't stereotype pit bulls, bull dogs or rottweilers. Some of them are very sweet dogs, and any type of dog can be violant.
I'm afraid of cats until they show me that they are cuddly.
