View Full Version : Something Stinky About CAA Deal

I've been waiting for the CAA prices on the buy one 7 day/get other half price deal - thinking that CAA members would get a better buy than through regular travel agencies.

Guess what?? It costs more through CAA!

And there even seems to be a slight variation from one province to the next. In Alberta, I just inquired and they've got a rate of $307 U.S./$153 U.S.

On a midwestern Ontario website - http://www.aaa.com/scripts/WebObjects.dll/AAAOnline.woa/3015/wo/lBp3939jyqZl2Q55hhL67T8roYM/2.9.1.3.1.3.0.0.0.0.0
their prices are listed as $311/$155.

But the inquiries I made earlier at Sears Travel resulted in a rate quote of $295.37/$147.68

I wouldn't have been too surprised if CAA came up with the same price as Holiday House - but for it to be more is really quite disappointing. It may not look like much of a difference, but when you factor in the exchange rate and multiply it by the number of tickets to be purchased, it certainly does make a difference!

JJ,

Are you up in Edmonton? I dropped by AMA here in Calgary today and they had no idea about the CDN offer. They tried telling me that those specials don't come out until Jan or Feb....I had to clue them in

Geez...there's always something eh?

Think I will try calling Sears travel.

Yes, Timon - this was the CAA in Edmonton. So far the tickets are only just arrived in the main office. But after getting the prices, I went through my travel agent and ordered the tickets today. I was afraid that the price on them might go up!
