We just returned from a seven day trip at POR, only to find a message on the ol' answering machine asking me to speak at a convention at the Swan Resort in May. We'll be there for three days during the second week of May.
I'm taking my wife and our 2 year old for his first visit. Our three older kids have been to WDW three times now (they get to stay home with the grandparents this time).

We'll be there the first week of May (and the last 2 days of April)! :cool1:
We haven't decided between CBR or ASMovies. We are leaning towards ASMovies for the Dalmation building for DD.

haven't booked yet, but hubby is not happy unless there is a trip planned! (ok, me too) planning on may with 3-4 nigths at csr with dining, then 6 nights at cbr.(haven't been there (at THAT resort; been to wdw many times since)since our sons were 10 and 15; they are now 24 and 27- wish we could talk then into going with us!) we are so NOT happy unless we have a disney trip "in the works" our friends think we're nuts!gone 2 times a year the last 2 years, went in sept. for free dining (again). getting a little homesick. need pixie dust!
ps check out hubby"s trip report "If it's tues. this must be epcot" you'll see why we keep going back! love the mouse!!!!

Welcome Gail - I highly recommend buying "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" which will give you TONS of basic info and even different touring plans to follow in the parks. Available in most bookstores or online @ Amazon.com if you prefer to have shipped.
Start making lists of important things like park hours, resort transportation and tickets etc, and then a list of things you think you would enjoy (rides, restaurants, etc).
You will find these discussion boards alot less intimidating once you have "a feel" for WDW. Yes, the wealth of info and opinions are very overwhelming! But you are welcome to Private Message me and I will gladly answer any questions or guide you in the right direction for answers. :)
Just click on my name and choose "send a private message", type in question in box that appears and hit submit button.
You're going to WDW!!! Relax and be happy!!! :cheer2:

Hi Ashley :wave2: - we are going the exact same days as you and cannot wait!!!! Since you are staying at AKL, maybe you will know the answer to this (probably not, but it never hurts to ask! ;) ). I have heard that on Friday, May 4, the AK is going to be the site of some 8th grade graduation party starting at 12:05. That's the day we had been planning on being at AK and now I'm scared of 8th graders! Do you know anything about this and how it will affect crowds then?
Have fun planning your trip! I sure am!

Hooray for your ADRs! :goodvibes
I see you've specifically gone early May in the past - may I ask why you choose this time of year or is it just a matter of convenience (like your work or school schedule)?
Of course I'm hoping you'll share the wonderful advantages of early May Disneying since I chose the first week myself. :rotfl:

Well looks like I have to change our dates....again! :furious:
Last week, I changed arrival/departure just one day to accomodate sis who decided to join us at Kennedy Space center.
We planned the trip AFTER the JH drama production which is the single most important thing in my 8th grader's life this year.
Now, after confirming with director 2 months ago, she is changing the show dates!!
Well at least we didn't book our flights or pre-WDW hotel yet.
Hopefully we can still get dates before Star Wars weekends! :duck:
Going to PT conference with school calendar in hand BEFORE I make another change. :headache:

My DH and myself, our two DS's 11 and 7, and my mom will be there May 12-19, staying at Pop. I have everything done: ressies, ADR's, airfare, itinerary...now all I have to do is wait!
Our boys think we are going in June....I hope my DS11 won't be disappointed. I just found out that we'll be gone the week of his first middle school band concert. :worried: Since he has no idea we are going in May, I really am not sure how to break it to him....I guess I have time to figure it out.

We have reservations for the Poly (Lagoon view) May 5-8th and the AKL (Deluxe Savannah Bunk Beds) May 8-11th. My husband, mother and 3 kids (2,4 +6) will be going. This will be our first big family trip to Disney and I am sweating the planning details. I'm a still a little shell shocked over the cost...and trying to decided whether we should fly, drive or take the train down from NC.
