good Wednesday morning BLUE TEAM!! how is everyone? did you start your day with a healthy breakfast and maybe a workout??

i'm working on the breakfast part, i did get up and went to the 6 a.m. step class at the FC -- whew! it was quite a workout, i'm not used to step anymore! glad to have it done for the day though

well my WI was as to be expected from being on vacation last week, i'm up again from my last WI and i'll be PMing my number to our team captain as soon as i finish this. all and all i'm still down 1 pound from our start - but it's time for me to be SERIOUS and consistent and get this weight off!!

please checkin -- even if you aren't where you'd hoped to be. i'm not, so you are not alone -- there is power in numbers --- i need NUMBERS people!

  :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

ETA -- YEA!! A CHALLENGE!! this one can just be for our team this week -- here's the deal, what is your weakness? a habit you just can't seem to break but want to, knowing you need to get it under control in order to lose weight? starting TODAY and through next Tuesday if you accept this challenge you will go cold turkey off your whatever it is for you. that's right, dump this monkey off your back!!

for me it's sweets. yes i'm a sweet tooth and i've rationalized those Smart Ones frozen treats, the no-pudge brownie, a tootsie roll pop, you get the pictures. low in points but still sugary empty calories that lead to craving more sweets!

are you game?? we can do this!!

so far Princess Vija is eliminating chips and AlreadyExcitedGrammy is elminating sweets, along with myself. you can do it!

ok gang, i see that princess@heart hasn't been on the boards for a couple days, since she posted she had been ill, i'm going to ask everyone to PM me with their WI results for this week -- include your weight and the change as i don't have last week's numbers. just the difference between this week and last, please indicate + or -

also, send me your final workout minutes for the inter-team challenge! thanks for resending it all to me, i know it's may seem inconvenient. let's kick some red and purple patooky!

I'm checking in up 2.5lbs from two weeks ago. Given that I had two big trips, I guess it's not so bad. I'll do better next week.

My weakness is pizza. I could give up pizza for this week. I'm not thrilled, but I can do it!

Hey guys! I am so up for this challenge! 1 week no chips... no problem! :thumbsup2

So... I am so happy! week 1 lost .5, week 2 lost .5, week 3 gained 2 and drum roll please......... week 4 lost 3#!!!!! :cool1: So even though I lost 3 this week, I can only claim 2# for our loser challenge because I gained during week 3. I am just so happy things are clicking for me.

Jana.. chant with me, no pizza, no pizza, no pizza! YOU CAN DO IT! :cheer2:

This week my goals are...
1. no chips
2. 330 minutes of exercise
3. keep track of food intake (written down and figure out calories as well as points)

Have you guys looked at any of the videos from the home contestants on biggest loser? On one video the girl said she was sticking to her 1300 calorie diet and 2 workouts a day! Wow, that got me thinking, if that is what the show recommends then maybe I should look into doing 2 workouts a day. Maybe not everyday, but planning in a couple of days that will have workouts in the morning and at night. Hmmm, something to think on..... :scratchin

I lost another 2 lbs this week for a whopping total of 10 lbs since starting BL!!
Exercise for the week was 335 minutes.

Hey everyone!

I lost 4 pounds this week - Woo hoo. Oh, and I realized that I never said how much I gained last week. I gained 1 pound.

I joined WW's last tuesday (my official loss on the WW scale was 4.6) and I had a great WI last night. I think that is what I needed to get my but into gear.

I've had a great week with exercise. I did 173 minutes! Having the gym at work is really helping me. I didn't get to work out today because I was so busy. I didn't even take a lunch except to eat at my desk while working.

Anyway, I'm going to try to be here more this week. I need to take some time out during the day for myself.

Great job everyone

Challenge - I'm game too.

For this week I will eat no sweets or junk for snacks. I will make every snack a healthy one that will fulfill a nutrional void in my diet. I've started using Fitday again to track my nutrients and make sure I'm eating the proper ratio of carbs/fats/protein. It's really helping because I am making better choices. In fact when I came home today instead of grabing for the bag of baked lays or something else junky I grabbed a half oz of cashews. I've also been reading my You the Owners manual and the Real Age Diet by Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen again. They are the ones that are always on Oprah. They really give good advice about the things that are good for you. They recommend a handful (aprox 1/2 oz -1 oz ) of nuts a day. I will count my dark chocolate (88% cocoa) as a health snack, but I have to be careful to eat in moderation. Like Molli, when I eat this it can sometimes lead to overeating.

I lost 2.4 pounds for the week, even though it is my TOM.

Week 1: 3 Pounds
Week 2: 2 pounds
Week 3: 1 pound
Week 4: 2.4 pounds
Total: 8.4 pounds

Excercise total for the week was 320 minutes

I'm gonna cut out the random junk snack objects, a small piece of that, a tiny bit of that, etc. Those calories add up.

Good job to everyone with your excercise and on your loses.

If you didn't lose, just keep on moving and drinking your water.

:wave2: good morning everyone well i look more like this instead :surfweb: but oh well

i also survived my first day sweet-free --- it was tough b/c i had to grocery shop, got there about 11 a.m. and 1/2 way through i was hungry! popcorn:: but i thought of this challenge, how hard we are ALL working, the folks at the BL ranch, etc and stuck it out! yea me! stocked up on fruit, granola bars, yogurt, and salad fixins'. Last night i grilled chicken and made a baked potato. whew. I also bought some honey wheat chex cereal to snack on for just a hint of sweetness but not empty calories. i enjoyed that while watching the BIGGEST LOSER last night. who whatched?

oh my! all i could think was being on a Disney Cruise and not enjoying and sampling all the yummies! :stir: :bitelip: i'm going to work extra hard to be at my goal weight b4 our next cruise so i can sample and enjoy. I did workout a couple times on our last cruise, i would do that again too. yoga on the beach was awesome :beach:

today is my day off intentional exercise, i have lots to do here including a 2 hour shift at a local pantry (unpacking boxes and stocking shelves) and hope to mow my yard afterward if it's not raining. so at least i'll be burning calories.

::cop: ATTENTION: I NEED RESULTS FROM THE FOLLOWING BLUE TEAM MEMBERS! PLEASE REPORT IN NO MATTER WHAT THE NUMBERS....WE AREN'T HERE TO JUDGE YOU BUT TO SUPPORT YOU AND YOUR EFFORTS!! ::cop:

OK no M&M's, I have to stop dipping into the Halloween candy.

No loss but no gain, buckling down.

Back to workouts 45 minutes today, felt really good.

Good morning, Blue Teamers!

I am still recovering from my Disney trip...I need to go grocery shopping today. I ate a slice of leftover pizza for breakfast. It was 7 points, so I have to be careful with the rest of my meals today. I am not going to the gym today, but I am taking an hour long walk with my DD after her nap today.

I hope that you all have a great weekend! :cheer2:

I everyone,

The week is going great so far. I just got through working out at the gym for lunch. I did a half an hour class that had you rotating through stations. Some of the stations really kicked my butt! I also lifted weights after that.

Today is my DS9's birthday (this will be our last year with a 9 year old when it comes to meals and tickets at Disney :( His family Birthday party is tomorrow. I am trying to plan some things for me to eat so I don't give in to temptations. I think when everyone else is having cake, I'm going to have one of my Starbucks frapuccino popcicles. This way, it's only 2 points and I still get to have a dessert.

I will make it through the weekend without cheating. I'm 100% determined. I also plan to get up and exercise tomorrow morning (at least that is the plan).

MORNING fellow teamies :goodvibes

I am here to get some encouragement to don my cool weather walking duds and get my buns outside to walk! My DH said "ah this is great outdoor walking weather" yeah - but I am still comfy in my jammies and it doesn't sound all that inviting BUT................... for the good of the team I AM going :rotfl:

I just read all the notes from ohMom and I agree we may not have had the best numbers but BLUE is on a roll.................. GREAT JOB !!! Keep up the healthy eating and exercise - together let's watch those numbers go down!

Hope we hear soon from Princess@heart - sending positive :wizard: :wizard: thoughts her way.

OK no M&M's, I have to stop dipping into the Halloween candy Mickey SP - you up for a "rest of the week challenge" NO HALLOWEEN CANDY ????? today is as good as any to begin

I am doing well on my no sweets challenge this week - even skipped my fortune cookie when I had some chinese veggies the other day  I am just sure the fortune was "those who eat goodies wear them long time after, including this cookie" Somethings are just better left to the imagination :rotfl:

Enjoy your weekend and MAKE YOURSELF proud that you can report you stayed the course :cheer2: :cheer2:

P Vija - I think you work weekends but how has the no chip challenge gone ohMom is doing well - she is keeping those sweets in the cupboard where they belong :yay:

Time to stop the stall - off to find some walking clothes and get it done!! :wave2:

ohMom
10-07-2006, 10:37 AM
 ok i should be painting. i'm sitting here in my painting clothes. the ceiling calls to me and yet i pretend not to hear

i have not eaten any empty calorie sweet food items! yea for me! this is hard i will admit, i looked at tootsie roll pops yesterday, and longed for a frozen yummy, but no! i didn't! everytime i'm tempted my teammates come to mind and if you all can do, so can I! and as AEG said, jump in if you haven't yet -- never too late!

ok gang -- be strong this weekend -- we want BIG numbers next Wed!!

my walking outdoors and it is a beautiful day! I was sluggish but I did it - just as I started up a rather large hill - my ipod spouted forth the BUCKEYE BAND (say did you know they are the best dang band in the land???) anyway, they gave me the "extra" I needed to get up that hill!!!

Just here to encourage YOU to get up and get moving :goodvibes

PS. ohMom still not painting :artist: but soon, she has to make a mom taxi run first  Yes, painting is a good exercise and counts for calories burned :goodvibes

ohMom
10-07-2006, 03:31 PM
the painting is done, the painting is DONE! well for today at least. i had a blonde moment, started trimming my new freshly dry-walled smooth ceiling, got about 1/3 around the room and went WAIT! PRIMER!! LOL so i switched over, only about 20 mins lost. got the ceiling primed and also my new door on the outside. real paint tomorrow i guess.

off to shower.................going to a bonfire tonight but NO s'mores for me!

GO BUCKS !!

great job on the walk mom, and yes, i knew they were the best dang band in the land.................just before the Marysville High School marching band where my DD is proudly marching in show today. mom will have to report in as she is going to watch them, they are closer to her even. MHS band has received two Grand Champion in contest already this season! proud mom moment.

good thing painting counts b/c i didn't do any intentional exercise today. hopefully tomorrow b4 church. i'm not sure if i got my 5 hours this week, but pretty close.

Boy it's been a hectic week! I hope everyone is up and moving around!
Yesterday I didn't do anything exercise-wise so I made up for it today with 100 min on TM and 20 min of toning inbetween. I'm trying to get in some long distances in preparation for our Dec WDW trip. Boy I'm pooped!

Great job AEG, you got out there and did it, I bet it wasn't so bad once you finally got outta those PJs (I know that's the hardest part of my day, getting dressed!)
Hey ohMom we're about to start a whole house repainting project, how'd you like to take a visit to AK, we could use all your experience with painting ceilings and all.

How's everyone doing on their mini-challenge? Sweets, Chips, Halloween candy, McD's, and extra snackings? I'm doing good giving up all the extra snacking (on nuts, especially cashews). I do miss having that crunchy-like food though.

Had to go to the Dr on Thur for my school physical and it was so much nicer stepping on the scale (and boy do I practice that A LOT) and seeing that it's not just my scale at home registering my losses!! Even with all my clothes AND shoes on!!!! I did notice that Dr's scale is 1 pound MORE than my home one, but I think I'll go with mine.

Have a great weekend BLUE!!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to say I survived my son's birthday party. It was 1:39pm and I hadn't eaten lunch yet (my MIL was late) and I was starving. I was so tempted to just start digging in to the food that was not within my points. I was good though and made it through the day within my points. I made a whole different meal for me and instead of cake I had a Starbucks Frappucino bar! YEAH me!

wow! you guys really :rockband: seriously! i'm not sure what is going on with me, i guess journaling in my head isn't quite the same. it's hard with a a kitchen? oh the excuses. i really felt like i did well last week but i'm weighing back up where i started, heavier than when i returned home from vacation! i hope it's just a readjustment thing going on................it's keeping me focused though. off to journal my breakfast and head to church

Just wanted to do a quick check-in with the team
I've been an exercise maniac this weekend 120 min Sat and 75 min today! I think I might actually go above my Oct goal!!
I have been struggling with the munchies these last couple of days, I don't know what to do to get rid of them. I really haven't encountered many struggles with this since starting on So Beach in July. Any ideas???

I'm happy I still seem to be losing weight, but if I lose control over these munchie attacks.........
Have an awesome week everyone!

hey everyone???? where are you?????

ok -- i just made it through a BIG challenge. DD youth group had a dinner/auction fundraiswer tonight. i tried to be skimpy with what i ate, i was hungry though. there was very good catered smoked chicken, i didn' eat the skin though which wasn't a big deal to me; ate my veggies salad with a little dressing. and, drumroll..................passed on dessert! yes.....me.....i did it! it was hard, it was apple or pumpkin crisp and i resisted! yes!!! just had to shout it out. 5 days into this challenge and i won't say it wasn't hard, but it wasn't impossible either. like Melanie, who was strong and had a frappy bar for dessert. that is aweseome Melanie! great job! you must feel proud too!

ok tomorrow i'm working strange hours, first thing in the morning and then back from 4 - 7 p.m.; but i'll try to check in during the day and i expect to see more posts than my own people!

AlaskaMOM you are truly inspiring! kudos for the awesome feeling of being pleased to step on the scale at the drs -- this is a goal of mine for an Oct 23 appt to be down 4-5 lbs from my last appt. this is not going well for me but i'm going to keep plugging away...............

and I can't get motivated BUT I will :teeth:
It is just "nice" to move at a slow speed - read Sunday's paper looking at ads - Christmas just 11 weekends away :goodvibes - a long to-do list and MUST exercise is right at the top but I keep skipping over it as I do a few other things around here!

Maybe one more cup of coffee and just a DO IT attitude :rotfl:

Waiting to hear from EVERYONE - we need team support - WI is Wednesday - I am still going strong on the no sweets challenge - where is P Vija - you gotta report - even if you munched some chips

Make this a good start for the week - exercise and healthy eating - that is the plan for the "bluies"

Great job Mel on planning ahead what to do when confronted with birthday cake!
ohMom I think it's the best way to live the healthy life when you can go to a buffet type function and come away with the feeling that you ate enough to be satisfied, but not guilty for over indulging. Way To Go on NO DESSERT!!!

I have a confession: I succumbed last night. I made a new recipe for banana bread (muffin sized) and I had to try just a little piece to see if the recipe was a "keeper". After my little taste, I walked away, but came back later and finished it off!! I do know in the whole scope of things having one small banana muffin is not going to ruin all my hard work so far, but it was the first time I cheated since starting! The first sugar I've had since July! I'm just a little disappointed in myself! :sad2:
I'll be working out a little later, and hopefully appease the "banana muffin gods"

OK enough about me...... what about you?
Come on Blue Team, where are you? Please check in and let us know how you're doing!

I'm here! I'm afraid I've done a lot of emotional eating this week. I've been struggling with some decisions I have to make regarding my job and food has been comforting. I don't think the scale looks too bad, but we'll see Wednesday.

Tomorrow I go to the doctor to get the results of my second MRI. I may end up in a cast for 6-9 weeks which will make life even harder, but what can you do.

I hope everyone had a great Monday!

:woohoo: :woohoo: good morning BLUE

how is everyone today? i'm still a bit fuzzy this early, but wanted to check in before i got busy with my long list for the day.

AEG -- how was the walk with new scenery?

AlaskaMOM -- ok, moving on. you are probably beating yourself up more than any of us would. you haven't had sugar since July? see you are counting in terms of months and i'm counting in days, and probably eat things you wouldn't? howsomeever....different plans different folks. but i admire you so don't be so hard on yourself. maybe you just needed to get that taste and move on,right. as long as it doesn't lead to a major blowout. which, knowing you, you have it all back under control already :cool1:

jayna -- :grouphug: for the hard times you are going through and mucho :wizard: :wizard: for your doc appt/phone call today with your MRI results. do you have hand weights at home? maybe you could sit on a stability ball and work your upper body some? i don't know the nature of your injury. i wore a fracture walker for quite some time a couple years ago; missed diagnosed as a stress fracture that was really tendonitis. i used it as an excuse to take some time off but I wonder how all that downtime affected my metabolism? i'm sure your doctor can advise you. :rolleyes1 sorry i'm rambling

my plan for today is to drop of DD at school and walk my path. then i have more painting to do before the cold weather blows into my hometown. what are you doing for exercise???

ok folks, let's have at least a one-liner today! i need you!! we are in it for the LONG haul together, remember?? i'm counting on YOU!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
