I know I read a thread regarding steps, but cannot find it now...can anyone tell me the benefits/drawbacks of longer stride vs shorter strides? and how many steps per minute or mile should I be taking? Thanks!

i have always thought it was an individual thing -- are you running or walking? I do know that racewalkers take shorter stride steps but use a hip-thrust motion to propel themselves. my inclination would be whatever is natural for you.........so you don't risk injury. anyone with a real expertise know any different?
