My son & I wil be flying USAir to Orlando in two weeks. (YAY!) I'll probably use the curbside check-in (first time) and am wondering, how much is an appropriate tip?

A buck a bag. Although I usually give a minimum $5 tip.

I'm with Disnydad - we usually check 3 bags and tip $5.

these people survive on their tips. I tip usually 2 per bag.

We usually check in 5 bags, and tip $20. I guess we are big tippers, but my DH would rather be certain that our bags get to where they are suppose to go! For that amount of money, they really go out of their way too!:D

We usually tip $5 and will typically have 2-3 bags. When we have more we tip about $2 per bag. It depends but that is the average.

I also tip 1.-2 per bag, min. 5.00. But, here is a little tip. Look at what they put on your bags for routing. If it says, for example: BDL/MCO that means it is going to be sorted by someone and hopefully put on the correct plane. Remember the skycaps take the bags to the conveyer belt used (in most cases) by the airline counter reps. It usually does not go anywhere special(some airports do have special conveyers for skycaps). It is at the other end that it gets botched up (if it is going to). You can do your part by watching what they put on the bags at the get go.

We also tip $1 to $2 per bag, and up the ante accordingly if our bags are unusually large or heavy (once, when we were doing a long Disney Cruise/Disney World combo trip, the airline actually slapped a "Heavy!" sticker on one of our rolling footlockers). Since the skycap is responsible for making sure that my luggage goes to the right area, I want to keep him happy!

One bag =$2
Two bags=$3
Three bags=$5
After that (never happened...) it would be a buck a bag plus a few bucks.
A tip- ALWAYS KNOW YOUR DESTINATION AIRPORT 3 DIGIT CODE, AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE YOUR BAGS GOING TO THE RIGHT PLACE! One time I had my bag bound for Calgary end up going the long way through Toronto because I didn't check, and they put YYZ instead of YYC on the tag. If I'm taking a connecting flight I also make sure the right connecting city is shown as well.
