Where we get a Universal person to try and convince a disney person that Universal is worth going to, and vice versa. It will be fun. :cheer2:

If you like to read the threads you know that a lot of us are really more into Universal than others. This weeks show we dive into that a bit. Its the GREAT DISNEY DEBATE. And we pit a Universal fan against a Disney fan and see if one can convince the other that their park is just as good. If you want to have your opinion heard then you can do so by simply dialing the hotline at 772-905-2462. You can remain anonymous if you choose, just simply tell us what you think of either Universal disney or the show. We will use your message in this weeks show. Time is limited....we cut the show on Weds. so you might want to get a move on it before tomorrow.
What other show do you know of that actually plays your opinion against their show or park on the air?

yaytezIOA
11-30-2006, 08:12 PM
On this weeks show we tackle the controversial subject of Disney vs. Universal. Which one will come out on top? Does Universal have what it takes, or does Mickey win all? We have phone calls from fans, and we pit a Universal fan against a die hard disney vet in a no holds barred debate. Who will be victorious?

Christmas with IOACentral Radio
For the month of December we will be getting into the holiday spirit.
We're going to be doing a live show from Disney and talking about all the holiday fun they have. We'll be doing a show from Cypress Gardens and talking not only holidays, but the changes coming to the park. And of course what kind of IOACentral show would it be if we didnt do a Christmas show from Universal? We'll be there for the Macy's Parade bringing you the show and some possible surprises.
And here's a question for you parents. Kids love Santa. Would your child like to get a call from Santa? Or would you like have your child call and leave a message for Santa? Let us know because ya know, we're pretty good friends with Santa.

they have carnival rides as attractions. their tram is a pickup truck towing two trailers. and they charge $9.00 for parking. it's a flippin' joke.

Happy New Year! We are back and jumping into 2007 with a new sound, a new show and a new guest. This week we talk about the new attractions that parks are putting in for 2007. Of course we talk about the goings on at Universal and Disney, but we're no experts on the rest of the country, so we have with us Clint Novak from In The Loop helping out and giving us info about all the parks around the rest of the nation. Enjoy, and hope you had a great holidays.

If you listen to the show, and want to be part of it, we now have a way of letting you listen as we record. You do have to download skype to participate, but it is sure to be a lot of fun. We wont do it every episode, but we will do it when we have a pretty heavy topic such as the one this week.

Are We Safe?
With all the talk in the media lately of the happenings in theme parks, from the ladies being sexually assaulted both at Universal, and on the disney cruise line, with Tiggergate and even the stabbings and shootings in the parking lot, is now a good time to be gonig to theme parks? We'll talk about what we've seen at theme parks as far as security and what we would like to see changed, to see how it could be made better.

We will record tomorrow night Jan. 14th at 8:30 p.m. EST. Make sure to pop in and say hi.
To access it, you must have skype. Then go to skypecasts and search for IOACentral Radio...then click join.
Or you can simply click here:

Theres nothing like a dead horse to beat on. This weeks show is up and running, and we are talking about Security and Safety in our theme parks. Do we feel safe with all the recent tragic events happening? Are things blown out of proportion? We talk about the incidents with both the Disney Cruise Lines, and Universal...and yes, we tackle Tigger...instead of the other way around. We also talk about other things we have seen regarding security in the park. Hope you enjoy.

This week we look at our favorite attractions long past. We cover Universal, we cover Disney, we cover the roadside attractions. Yeah, we missed some...no doubt, but we do talk about what has replaced the rides we love, and if they are better or worse. We have Will Holder and Clint Novak stop by to tell us about their new site, and new home for In The Loop. We just have a lot of fun this week. So take a listen, enjoy, and feel free to talk about the rides that we missed. And we hope you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with us....we do talk alot about disney.

For the 20th episode, we've decided that we are going to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras!! Thats right, ROAD TRIP!!! We're going to have several special guests, and talk not only about Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando, the similarities, the differences, the fun of it all. Now I know you're saying "but Mardi Gras in New Orleans doesnt start until Feb. 20th! Yeah, but the celebrations have already started, in fact it starts on the epiphany...the twelth day after Christmas. And you thought disney drug out celebrations.... We're going to talk to our guests about that, the different foods and festivals, and music. In fact since Mardi Gras at Universal starts on Saturday the 3rd, we're going to have an extra special musical guest. Who will it be? Well.....you'll have to wait to find out.
Gotta go get packing....its party time!

This week is HUGE! We are going to Mardi Gras, so that means an IOACentral Radio road trip. You can expect the normal craziness that you always get from us, but this time we have some really cool and special guests. We talk to Native New Orlenian Edward Cox about his work with Mardi Gras, the traditions, the fun and the misconception of the parade, and also his love of Universal's Mardi Gras. Then we talk to Chef Thomas Wolfe, owner of ParisStyle in New Orleans about the traditional food, and the rebuilding of the city after Katrina....And if you thought that was enough, oh no my friends....
This Saturday marks the beginning of the Mardi Gras season at Universal Orlando, and they mark it Texican style with Los Lonely Boys....but we got em first! We chat with Henry from LLB about their appearance, their roots, family and tradition. Make sure you check it out.
The show will be up tonight at 8.

This week on IOACentral Radio Matt and I are at Mardi Gras talking about the event, the latest Universal rumors, and Valentines Day. We also go back to the studio to talk to the lovely and vivacious Closet Freak about Valentines Day...because, ya know, she's a girl, and guys can kind of screw up on Valentines Day. We'll walk you through all the romantic things that the parks have to offer, read your emails and posts about the romantic things you've seen in the parks, and the things you can do to make it special for your other half. If you were wondering about what hotel options were available for Valentines Day we talk with Jennifer from Loewes Hotels about all the cool things you and your loved one can do. And, we'll roll out the brand spanking new In The Loop: EXTREME!

This week we take a trip into the vault, and oh the stuff we find. We take a look at the nominees for this years best picture Oscars, and since we are talking movies we have our friends Zak and Bryan from the Kickass Movie Podcast stop by and talk a while. Of course it wouldnt be IOACentral Radio if we just talke about the movies, oh heavens no! So we take a look at the films nominated this year and turn them into rides, and I must say.....well.....You wont see these at any parks near you. Matt also tries to bring a little Walter Cronkite to the program with "Across The Universe" a look at the news and happenings going on this week in and around Orlando. Lots of tingles, lots of fun....lots of things that are just plain wrong. Hope you enjoy.

So there was this guy that got national coverage for putting his cell phone number on youtube.com He did nothing with it! He just wanted to do it! So I decided, if he could do it, we could do it, and do something with it. So we're going to see how many voicemails we can get on the IOACentral Radio voicemail line. And we're going to let people have their voice heard by giving them a spot on the show every week.....for about 8 weeks. If you want to have your voice heard, view the vid, rate us high, and call the voicemail line.

This week the parks are alive, with the sound of.......yeah you know. We talk about the music in the parks, and how they enhance your theme park experience. We also talk about our favorite theme park music, what rides would be like without the music, and how the experience is complete. And to help us along we bring in someone who really knows music, Nick Hutson from the UK's only musical theater podcast Musical Talk. We also take a trip "Across the Universe" with Matt for all the latest news.

Hey guys... do you like video games? Do you like theme parks? Do you have a Xbox 360 and Gears of War? We are doing am Xbox Live version of IOACentral Radio Thursday night at 9 p.m. EST, for airing next thursday. We are going to talk about theme park based video games, and whether or not games should be made into rides.....we KNOW they shouldnt be made into movies. We will also be playing Gears Of War while we're talking and recording....so the rules will come into play.
This will be a privately hosted game, and seeing as there are only 8 slots available for online play in any one match...there will be only six available to you...so it will be first come first serve. ALSO we will all be using the chat, and you will be expected to add a little bit to the show....not much, but something. There will be no swearing....or little swearing, and we reserve the right to kick you for any reason. It is an Episode of IOACentral Radio, so there will more than likely be a lot of bad acting involved. If you want to be involved, send a message to me via Xbox 360. My gamertag is yaytez

This week on IOACentral Radio, we talk about being passionate about the parks and rides you love, and the extremes that some people go to for those passions. Some people might call people who ride a certain coaster almost 2000 times, or have a bunch of tattoos of a certain park or even those who produce a weekly podcast fanatics. But the bottom line is that it makes us happy. We talk to James "Yeti-Man" McCown, George "The Disney Tattoo Guy" Reiger, and Bryan Temmer (who has an idea that will knock your socks off) all about their passions, and how far they've gone and the obstacles that they have had to overcome to live their dreams. We also return with Across The Universe, and have loads of fun...as always. We hope you enjoy it.

This week on IOACentral Radio we walk away from the studio and pick up the game controllers. We are broadcasting from the XBOX 360, which isnt made to host podcasts....as you will be able to tell by the sound. But we invited all of our friends on IOACentral.com to swing by and play a little Gears Of War with Us. Being the themepark nerds we are, we talk this week about the untapped potential for theme park rides made from video games. We also hear from Joey on the voicemail line, get our first person to call in on the IOACentral Experiment (that can be viewed on Youtube) and start some Rumor Irradication with our very own Bryan...aka....sketch105. Oh, and after a three week hiatus we have In The Loop X-treme back. Loads of stuff, loads of game play, and loads of fun.

This week on IOACentral Radio its time for Spring Break! With all the country on Spring Break for the next couple of months, its going to get really crowded at the parks. So, with that in mind, we break out the survival guide once again to bring you tips on how to make the most out of your Spring Break vacation. This time however, we get the point of view from people who really need the tips...We're talking teenagers and parents. The last thing you want to do if your a teenager is spend the precious little time away from school that you get standing in lines. So we bring on Lexx from Universalignited.com, a teenager that knows a thing or two about theme parkin. Also, if you're a parent, the last thing you want is to spend your vacation hearing the kids complain. So we bring on Barb from the DISboards (aka Bubba's Mom), a parent, to give advice on how to make the most of your kids vacations.
We also take a minute out to say goodbye to a good friend who will no longer be on the show....We have Sketch back with his Rumor Irradication. And a HUGE announcement that you wont want to miss.
Always fun, always funky. Lots of things just for you this week on IOACentral Radio.

Hey Everyone,
We are embarking on our Endless Summer Road Trip tomorrow. We will be traveling through 5 states, and 4 parks all in 5 days. And yes, we'll be recording the whole adventure. Be sure to check here often for updates, and pictures that we'll be posting every chance we get.
We'll be hitting:
Discovery Cove-Tues.
Busch Gardens Europe for Griffon-Weds.
Dollywood-Thurs.
Carowinds-Friday
Savannah GA-Friday night and Saturday
We'll be rolling back through Orlando on Sunday and we'll be making one final stop. You know all of those specials on TV you see for the 10 lb burger, or the 30 lb chalupa, all with a challenge? Well we found one in Orlando at the Chapparal Steakhouse. Everyone is invited to come out and join us as we tackle the biggest that Orlando has to offer. What are we challenging?
3 Words:
SIX
POUND
STEAK
If you would like to come out and hang with us, and maybe have a drink or two, IM me and let me know, and I'll let you know the specifics. Free for anyone who wants to come out and watch us make pigs of ourselves...and yes, it will be for the show. We're such prostitutes.

My family surprised me with the trip as a late Birthday Present for me, and I was able to speak with Kevin, an Animal Care Specialist at Discovery Cove about the park, the different programs and packages they offer, and all the activities at the park. You can hear about all that this week, but heres what you wont hear.

When you drive into the park you see the familiar gardens and topiary that Busch is known for. The parking is close and no need for trams, or moving walkways, or even to remember where you parked.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove047.jpg

As we walked in we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff in the beautiful lobby. This place is gorgeous, with dolphin art hanging from the ceiling, and greeted by one of the many animals that we had interaction with. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove043.jpg

After getting your waterproof nametags with maps, yes they're waterproof as well, you're walked down into the main area of the park through beautiful plants, waterfalls ad scenary.

You also are asked to pose for your complimentary picture.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove060.jpg

You are then asked about your Dolphin swim and told everything you need to know to make it through your day. You are given your lockers, and your equipment and given time to catch some breakfast, which is included in the price of admission.

Our first stop was the Aviary, where we were able to feed a number of birds and see deer.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove024.jpg

Then it was right into the water, where we encountered all kinds of fish and stingrays on natural coral reef.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/scan0002.jpg

You are given a swim mask, snorkel and either wet suit vest, or a full wet suit, but the water is still a little chilly, which is just what the animals need.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove021.jpg

After our lips were a little blue we ventured over to the tropical river which is a warm 85 degrees, and clear. It also has a lazy river current to it, which allowed for easy swimming. There were also loads of sunken items that you can dive down and see.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove041.jpg

We had a nice lunch, also included in admission, then I was treated to something I didnt know...I had a dolphin swim!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove064.jpg

It was an amazing experience as I got to kiss Capricorn, who is 36 year old, and is featured in all the Discovery Cove and Sea World commercials, and who was also in JAWS 3 as Cindy.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove062.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/Discovery%20Cove/discoverycove061.jpg

I then got to take a ride with Cap, after learning some hand signals, and feeding him some ice and fish. It was an amazing experience.

I hope you enjoy it, and if you would like more information, check out www.discoverycove.com and also tune into the show next week as we hit spot number two: Busch Gardens Europe for the opening of Griffon!

Thanks Erik....looks like you had a great time....and what a wonderful birthday gift!!! I'm not fond of the "cold" water, but for something like that, i could deal w/ it. I'd like to go in 2009, but DH is thinking of carribean cruise (and I don't mean a "cruise ship"...he means "sailboat"......) anything else I'd need to know about DC?? wouldn't want any surprises sprung on me!

thanks for the pix!!! :thumbsup2

After having a great time at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, it was on to stop number 3 in the IOACentral Radio Endless Road Trip, Pigeon Forge Tennessee and Dollywood. We had gotten many mixed results from people about the length of the trip, and had heard many different times from 6 to 13 hours for driving time to Dollywood from Williamsburg. Many mountains, rain, 8 hours and one scary *** town later we arrived at Pigeon Forge Tennessee, nestled deep in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee002.jpg
I’ve got to say, right off the bat, Pigeon Forge is Kissimmee….with Mountains. There are so many little touristy things to do from go-karts, to mini-golf. There is even a Wonderworks and a Ripleys Believe it or Not. And then there is Jurassic Jungle River Boat Ride. Wow….simply….wow. Matt and I were just besides ourselves with giddy excitement as we walked up to the red and yellow boats. We forgot our cameras (dammit) so we don’t have any pictures. But take our words for it….its not Jurassic Park.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee001.jpg
Its Jurassic Jungle! It’s a dark ride, and it is fun….but there were so many things wrong with this ride. When we told the girl at the admission desk that we were from Orlando and had to see this crazy thing for ourselves she just gave us “no refunds” look. The whole “boat” system works on a come-along. There are several little “islands” and a hook comes along and pulls you around the island. There are giant snakes, and bird-man-bear-pig things around every dark turn. Not a terrible attraction for an independantly owned operation.
After our Jurassic Jungle fix we hit the hay and had dreams of Scarab beetles from Revenge of the Mummy. In the morning, there was no time for doddling as we both slept like dead rocks, and missed our alarm clock. We rushed out of the hotel and jumped in the van. In the daylight, everything looks more like a mountainous version of Kissimmee than ever. We rode through deeper and deeper hills, and our dispair grew. There was no way in hell that a decent park could be way the hell out here! There were graveyards here that were a hundred years old for gods sake!
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee005.jpg

How could a theme park here be anygood? We got to the park, and our dispair grew into dissappointment. It really looked like a second rate fair in the parking lot. Sure it was pretty, with all kinds of flowers and people dressed in period clothes. But still, their tram was an old rusted school bus that had the sides cut off it. Usually a bad sign.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee013.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee021.jpg
We got our tickets and rushed inside, where to our amazement, we were still early for opening. The front area looked a lot like Main Street USA in WDW, only a southern version of it. Everything was surrounded by hills, and the path wound around and into them. You could not see the rest of the park over the hills. We checked the park map, which had an odd shape to it, and made our way to what we came for.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee017.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee019.jpg
The only thing that would drag us to this little park, Mystery Mine. We made our way over to where everyone else was waiting and watching the “Rain Maker” , a short magic show of sorts in the tradition of the old snake oil salesman. Very entertaining, and it did manage to shed some minutes off our wait time. The rope was let down and everyone went pouring into the Timber Canyon area.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee023.jpg
Our first glimpse was of ThunderHead, a wooden roller coaster that from our eyes looked like any other wooden roller coaster we had seen. It looked old, rickety and it was loud. We made our way past that and headed over to where Mystery Mine was. It loomed over in the distance like a hillybilly Hollywood Hotel. It was pretty impressive. It looked run down, and dark and forboding, just like the story of the coaster said it was supposed to be.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee027.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee033.jpg
There wasn’t anyone in line, but there also wasn’t anyone in line for Timber Tower that we were able to see run before we decided to ride. It didn’t look that impressive, in fact it looked down right puny. It wasn’t very tall, and it didn’t seem like there was much to it….until we saw it in motion. This thing was crazy! We decided to give it a try, and wow. You are lifted into the air, and slowly start to spin.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee038.jpg
The spinning gets faster as water starts to spray into the air, and you start to hear beavers chattering and laughing. Once you get up a good spinning speed, you start to rock. You are thrown face first into the water, you feel as if you are going to be dropped into the beaver’s dam, and impaled on the remaining timber stumps. It was so crazy and fun, and such a surprise. Once you are up in the air you start to see that it is themed around a lumber mill, and you are in the tower. Its really a great little ride. Something that would make a great small addition to say Islands in the Toon Lagoon area.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee041.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee048.jpg
After our whirl on Timber Tower, it was over to the Mystery Mine. There is no video or waiting room like there is in Tower of Terror, but with the eerie music, and posters of old newspapers all over the walls, and the old prospector walking right through the line poking his dynamite in your face, you get the same vibe that you’re doomed.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee049.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee037.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee059.jpg
We were able to pretty much walk right on. The cars reminded me a lot of Revenge of the Mummy in that they were shaped the same. Only there were two rows of four. The shoulder harnesses were really different as well, they seemed to work on a magnetic lock, which allowed for us bigger folk to get in without a lot of squeezing. Once we were locked in we were on our way. The beginning of the ride is a dark ride, warning you about the mystery mine, and warning that if the canary died, all was lost. There was the canary singing bright as could be, with lots of crows peering back at you with dead red eyes on one side, and rats on the other. Just as you turn the corner of the mine, the canary falls down dead on its side….this is going to be a good ride. You go whipping under an Indiana Jones style falling ****y trap, and whisking around in the dark. From there you are drug up a 90 degree straight up lift hill. You are looking straight up at the ceiling, and what comes next cant be good. Over and out of the building you go as you take a hard bank turn on the side of the mountain, back into the mine.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee064.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee063.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee040.jpg
Then once you are back in the dark, again you go straight up. You cant see anything until….well…I’ll save that part. But lets say the ride has an explosive finale as you go hurtling 95 degrees straight down, and back into the open sky as you roll into a heartline roll and seem to stop before going through a half loop back to the station. We loved it so much we jumped back into line and did it again.
My only complaint that it was too short. It could have had so much more, but I don’t think my fat heart could take anymore of it.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee060.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee070.jpg
After we stopped for some trademark silly pics it was on for Thunderhead. Upon entering the station we could see that it had won the golden ticket award for best wooden coaster. Again, we thought nothing of it, and jumped on. The take off was immediate and fast. We were surprised at how smooth it took off too, unlike any other woodie I’ve been on. Up the lift hill, and even from that height you couldn’t see the rest of the park, the mountains were in the way. That first drop was a doozy, 100 ft. and just as fast and smooth as any steel. The only thing we could exclaim as we dropped over hill after turn was “OH MY GOD THIS IS SO FAST!!!” There is even one point where it does a flyby of the station. Truly more than we expected from this coaster. It really lives up to that Golden Ticket.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee072.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee071.jpg
After that we hit the rest of the park. Walking through we got the sense that everyone was just so laid back. No one was going crazy trying to plan every step of the way of their trip, all of the staff were smiling and talking with you as passed. And the smell of food was everywhere.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Tennessee Twister, yet again. We walked up thinking “Oh God, this is going to hurt” but were surprised by the smoothness of the track, and the furocity that the train tore through the giant loop that literally went through the mountain. We hit an indoor coaster/water ride called Blazing Fury which started out as a redneck version of Pirates with Ma an Pa sittin on the front porch with their shotguns. No joke, it looked like a Bsquare family reunion.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee083.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a290/yaytez/dollywood/tennessee082.jpg
It was a lot of fun being whisekd around figures that had the voices of Jim Neighbors and Dolly Parton. Again, we were surprised by the wallop the ending coaster portions packed and the really neat effects that it had. From there we checked out the kids area, which is a huge treehouse, and water play area, complete with foam ball shooters. It was simply huge. The Mountain Slidewinder had us hiking up a hill with little kids running past us as we stopped and died a few times. When we asked about the water for this little toboggen ride, where they got it from and how they filtered it we simply got “We just pump it right outta this mountain here” And they did, as it was FREEZING.
After screaming down the slidewinder we stopped for some eats, which ranged from normal park food like chicken and hamburgers to some down home cookin. I opted for the Fried Green Tomatoes (maters to y’all) and some fried taters. It was cheap, and good. And warmed us right up.
We did a few more rides, but pulled out a little early, as we were on to our next stop on the Endless Roadtrip: Carowinds in North Carolina.
We literally walked into Dollywood expecting to be let down, and walked out just amazed at how great a park it was. From the first rate attractions, to the staff that was just unbelievably friendly to the food all over the place, it was just one surprise after another.
Next week: Carowinds.

IOACentral Radio has been all over the place this year. There are also people from just about every corner of the globe who post on IOACentral. So with that in mind, we want to find what you think is the best of the best. We are giving you the chance to choose your favorites in the theme park world.
For the next four weeks we will roll out a new topic for you to vote on. When the new poll goes up, the old one comes down, and you will no longer be able to vote on it.
We will tally the votes from each week and announce the winner Exclusively on the Season Finale of IOACentral Radio on August 3rd.

Why are we doing an awards show? Because most awards for theme parks are based on things like attendance, or reviews, or money earned. IOACentral has always been a site for fans...fans of Universal, but fans of theme parks in general. IOACentral Radio is made up of fans.....So who better to choose the best than fans?

For the first category we have Best Theme Park. This is the park that you like the best. The place that you feel takes theming to the next level, has the best attractions, friendliest staff and overall best maintenance. If we are missing some you really think should be on there, let us know.

Well.......technically, they are two different parks. Its like lumping wdw into one park.....couldnt do that either.
Feel free to write us and tell us why, or even call the voice mail line (772 905 2462) and tell us why the park you chose is the best.....those will also be aired on IOACentral Radio.

This week on IOACentral Radio Matt and Joey return to the studio to talk about all the expansion that is going on at the Universal Orlando Resort. They cover all the big news regarding The Simpsons, Halloween Horror Nights, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Also taking over his old role is Scott as he takes on a trip Across the Universe. So get some donuts, lock your doors and find your magic wand for this week's episode of IOACentral Radio!

For the second poll, we thought, "What can we do that everyone hasnt done?" Sure all of the awards shows have best hotels and resturaunts, but what can we do that hasnt been done?
So how about the favorite Landmark/Icon? What structure do you automatically think about when someone says theme parks? Perfect Example would be Epcot.....when someone says Epcot, I automatically think Spaceship Earth.
Which one of those types of structures is the best representation of theme park Icons?
Feel free to comment about it, and also you can call the voice mail line at 772-905 2462 and leave your thoughts there as well.

We all love theme parks. Thats why we're on discussion boards, websites, and why some of us do a podcast all devoted to theme parks. What if you didnt have the money to do the fun things you loved, like go to theme parks, because of something serious like a life threatening illness. That is a reality for millions of children throughout the world. That is why we are taking this week to talk about something near and dear to everyone at IOACentral Radio's hearts, charity.

If it wasnt for a charity event, IOACentral Radio would never have come into existence. So we are very proud of our friend Clint Novak of In The Loop for starting the Single Riders. This week Erik sits down and talks to Mike Collins of Coasterradio.com about the Single Riders, an event involving riding rollercoasters all day long to benefit Kennywood Cares and Give Kids the World (the unofficial birthplace of IOACentral Radio).

Now Mike Collins has not released a single episode of Coasterradio.com in almost a year, so its a pretty special occasion when he comes out to talk about a great event for a great cause. We also talk to Mike about Costerradio, its great audience, and the future show. And we are very proud to have Pam Lindworth, President of Give Kids The World, on the show talking about everything that GKTW does.

So please join us for this very special show, and we hope that we can touch your hearts the way that Give Kids the World has touched ours

In the third category of the IOACentral Radio awards, we thought we'd see what your favorite annual event is. Now there are so many parks, and so many different events, we decided to put the biggest ones and the ones that have been going on the longest. These are also events that have been talked about here on the boards. We are sorry if we left any out, but there can only be so many.

This week on IOACentral Radio, we are at the East Coast Premiere of the Simpsons Movie, direct from the future home of the Simpsons Ride, Universal Orlando. We walk the yellow carpet, and take part in all the craziness and fun. We also talk to people after the movie and see what they thought of it. We ALSO have an interview with Kent Bushner of Cypress Gardens about the Starliner, and talk a little bit about the "Dog Days of Summer". Lots of stuff happening this week, and even more pictures to come!

They actually gave us a box of donuts, pink frosting with orange and purple sprinkles....
The movie was great, the first half was full blown hilarious.....the second half was a little flat, but it was still good. Definately recommended....but not for kids, I am having reservations about it....too much story.

This week on IOACentral Radio, we have asked what you like best, and you have answered. Thats right, after four weeks of polling we have the results of the IOACentral Radio awards. We run down what you voted to be the best around in the theme park world, and nothings ever gonna take that down. On top of that, this is our finale for the season. Thats right, the Last Show. Will it be the last show ever? Listen to find out.

Also, we have your phone calls, and did we mention that BSquare is on? Also, we find out what happened with that "Rest Home" that Erik was supposed to be in. We also have a "best of" video that highlights a lot of events and adventures we had this season. Check it out:

Everyone knows about Hidden Mickey's at Disney. They have whole books telling you where the Mickey's are. But what about Universal? They dont have any hidden icon heads of there own, but there is a whole other world of hidden items, and extra details at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Everything from sounds, to sights to small attractions within attractions. This week on IOACentral Radio we are back and we are diving into the world hidden around Universal Orlando. We also have an interview with the heads of New Line Cinema, and Universal Orlando about the marriage of New Lines masters of terror, and Halloween Horror Nights. Information about Busch Gardens Tampa's brand new area coming to the park Spring of 2008, Jungala, and we even stop to "Ask BSquare" a question. All this and more on this weeks edition of IOACentral Radio.

Halloween Horror Nights starts next week. The anticipation is at a fever pitch. All you have to do is wait one more week until you can get your fill of all the oozy gorey goodness. This week however, IOACentral Radio is going to take a step away from the theme parks and look at an institution that really helped to save Universal Studios. We're talking this week about horror films. We compare Classic Horror (Monsters, Pyscho, etc.) to Modern Horror(Saw, Hostel, Torture). To help us do that we enlist the help of the cast from a classic Universal Monster Movie. Our two guests starred in a film over 50 years ago that helped shape horror the way it is today.

Plus we ask Bsquare what he thinks, and more on this weeks episode of IOACentral Radio.

Our second annual Halloween Horror Nights Spectacular brings back TJ Mannarino, Midnight Syndicate, and things that go bump in the night. Just when you think all the Halloween Horror Nights Madness cant get any heavier, we kick it up just one more notch.

With all the interviews we've done, I always jump at a chance to talk with J. Michael Roddy. Sure we love talking with all our guests, but Roddy is just kind of, well, special. He's really just like us, he loves horror, he loves movies, and he loves to geek out. And on top of all that, he does a lot of writing for the HHN shows at Universal. So naturally we love to talk to him every chance we get.

This week, as a little extra, we were able to participate in a conference call with Roddy, as well as one of the Featured Performers of the Freak Show, Brian Brushwood. They talk about not only the Freak Show, but all of the shows including Bill and Ted and The Rocky Horror Tribute.

This is it. This is the final episode of IOACentral Radio, ever. What better way to end the show than to pick up where we all pretty much met? We are at Halloween Horror Nights speaking with The AMAZING Mike Aiello. We talk about how to get the most of your Horror Nights Experience, and also talk with Mike about his involvement with Bill and Ted, as well as the other houses, and of course with his involvement on the Thing:Assimilation. Truly the way we want to go out, having fun, and talking about the things we love.

Thank you all very much for allowing me to do the show, and even more for listening. Its been one hell of a ride. Special thanks to Universal for having us one last time. Also thank you to all the parks who have let us come through their gates and took the time to speak with a bunch of nerds who just love parks. We've made a great bunch of friends, whether it be with listeners, readers of the various boards, or other sites and podcasts. Its been great.

I'll miss the show, and all of you. Thanks again.
