Well, I'm going to make September, so if no one objects, I'll do the October hosting as well. If anyone else wants to, feel free to jump right in!!

I'll be gone the 6 - 10 visiting my sister in FL, but will catch up when I get back. I got lucky and will actually be there when her DD's baby is born!

I'm BACK!! Finally updating. Florida went well as far as baby, horrid for food/exercise - details in my journal

Gee, I'm the first one to hop on board? Neato.
Please count me in with a goal of 1600 minutes. DH and I are offically back in the weight loss game, having started Fat Smash Sept. 18. We're both down about 10 pounds each so far, and have a long way to go. So the timing of this challenge is awesome for me.
And another big help will start Oct. 20, when our new gym opens its doors for the first time. Yay!

Well, I'm almost afraid to try, but I will....that's why it's a CHALLENGE...right?

For my first Challenge ever I will pledge 700 minutes. I have a holiday in Abu Dhabi Oct. 24-27, but I can count swimming and the extra walking, right??

I haven't signed up in a couple of months cause I've been busy at work and slack about my exercise. It is time to get back into gear though!! Please put me down for 750 minutes! Hopefully I can do more, but this goal is more than I've done for the last couple of months so I am going to work my way back into it!

Trying to appease my guilt from not doing a thing yesterday and did 100 min on the bike. 100/1500.

Hey Jill...I felt the same way. Felt super guilty for being super lazy yesterday! Did 45 mins aerobic this afternoon. Tonight I just finished up 30 mins on the Gazelle. :thumbsup2 75/1000

I didn't quite make my September goal, was a little ambitious and forgot how much work cuts into my workout time!! :rotfl:

I'm in for 900 this month, I've started a new plan, and doing 30 minutes a day. So far I have 60/900.

I'm off to Florida tomorrow until the 11th to visit my Dsis & see DNiece new baby - inducing Saturday 6 a.m. - and be there for the other DNiece baby's 1st bday. Hopefully I"ll get some moving in!

I'll maybe update again tonight & maybe once in FL- otherwise I'll catch up when I get back...KEEP MOVING!!!!

I've been lax this week as TOM made a surprise visit after over 3 mo of MIA, so I'm miserable and retaining more water than an ocean!
Hopefully it will disappear soon!

Shelved books at the school media center for an hour this morning. Lots and lots of leg squats up and down. Why are all of the books from the bottom two shelves? Since my legs are super sore, I'm guessing I got a good workout and I'm counting 30 minutes - 260/1000

Did you get in a step class too? I always get squats and step, but I don't count it as exercise since I do it every day or two! It really is a good workout tho, especially if you're not used to it.

Was super duper unmotivated today! had to drag myself (literally) to the TM, did 25 min.
340/1500. I hope to step up the pace tomorrow!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Nope. I think all but three books were on the bottom two shelves. Look at book spine, walk to shelf, squat, find spot, stand, repeat! I didn't think it was a big deal, but boy were my quad's and backside sore. :crazy: I also got to take two boxes of textbooks from the media center to the school office - upper body workout :rotfl2:

Well, after today's chilly 3-mile walk, I'm at 210 out of 1600 minutes so far. I had some problems with new sneakers and blistering earlier in the week, but mercifully that seems to be working itself out. And two weeks from today our new gym opens...can't wait. I'm hoping that helps me kick things up a notch or six.

Spent 3 hours at the park with the kids on Sat. DH had a 10 mile race that day, but I am only counting 30 mins of exercise for that day

Sunday did the Breast Cancer 5K walk, finished in 50 mins :)

Sigh...well, this month is going a lot like last month did which is not good and pretty discouraging. :( Dd got sick last week and I did as well. I also have been busy with midterms and the exercise hasn't been what it should be. The same exact thing happened last month. If this crazy weather doesn't make up its mind soon it might be like this next month too. It was 59 degrees one day last week and then the next day it was 93 degrees! That is why we keep getting sick! I tend to get sick every time the weather changes. Anyway, hopefully this will be the end of it and I will be able to catch up before the end of the month.

I am at 200/1000.

I'm back & about to update. As usual, my life is insane. I was about to go to the gym (for the 1st time in months) this morning when DD 14 called from school. Her choir teacher (32) died in her home and even the school just found out this morning (details in my journal). They let all the kids who could leave - 8th & 9th graders - who they were going to tell class by class.

Florida was good but exhausting and too much food, not enough exercise.

Adding 180 minutes. One hour in the gym lifting weights, and two hours hiking in the woods.....bushwacking really, without a trail and only our GPS compasses to guide us..and with lots of hills, climbing over logs and rocks, etc so it was a really great workout. :cool1:

Unfortunately, I had to make Monday an off-day thanks to various and sundry commitments. Today, however, the new gym opened, and I got in another 60 minutes (40 treadmill, 10 elliptical and 10 recumbent bike) to bring me to my halfway point -- 800/1600.
I'm getting there. Thursday DH and I have our appointments with the trainer, so I'll soon be able to add weights to my usual cardio routine. Yippee!

Well, I only got in a half-hour today (putting me at 890/1600), but what a half-hour it was...
DH and I had our initial meetings with yon LA Fitness trainers -- mine put me through a 15-minute whirlwind of leg machines that left tears in my ears. The word of the day, friends, is "ouchie." I at least managed to fill out that half-hour on the treadmill without killing myself. :yay:
But I'm going back for more tomorrow. Call me a sadist, I guess, but I can't quit now. I've invested too much money . . . kind of like a Disney trip. :rolleyes1
Anyway, keep on sweating, y'all...

Well, the word of the day remains "ouchie." My thighs are still achy. So what did I do? I went out and worked harder.
I got 45 minutes at the gym (15 minutes intense arm/chest machines, 30 minutes between the elliptical and the treadmill). But after DH -- upon whom I inflicted the killer leg workout Ethan the Trainer hurt me with yesterday -- left for work, I grabbed a sweatshirt and my MP3 player and went out and walked another 3 miles/55 minutes.
So that's 100 minutes more for me today, and a total of 990/1600. Guess I should have walked another 10 minutes. :blush:
Oh well, there's time for that tomorrow...

Yea!! Got 75 minutes in with my 4 miler today, warm up, cool down and then an additional 30 minutes in with strength training. I made out a schedule to see if there was any way possible that I could catch up..and I'm only 7 minutes behind! Unforturnately, we had car drama on Friday which totally took the day away, but I had been working more than planned, so I'm still within reach! Now, if the body will just cooperate!! :rotfl: Puts my total over the half way point..only 6 days late!!! 725/1400
