View Full Version : Leaving a dish out overnight and it being okay?

I have a serious question. Yes, I feel real silly right now. I made an enchilada casserole to freeze....it was hot so I left it out to cool before freezing. But, I was stupid and forgot about it all night. It was sitting on the counter all night in the covered casserole dish. Do you think it will be okay, or should I throw it out. It has velvetta cheese, enchilada sauce, tomato soup, cream of chicken soup, corn tortillas, and ground beef. It smelled good and looked good, but I know that can be deceiving. What do you think?
TIA

It's funny you ask that today. I left a casserole out last night and tossing it this morning was hard. I would have liked to hear that it was safe too ;) . I had planned on it for dinner tonite, so now we are having sandwiches.

I was ready to cry when I walked in the kitchen the next morning and seen it sitting on the counter.

I've done that too! In winter I might chance it (but absolutely nuke it!) but its been so mild I think I'd have to err on the side of caution.
Boy its hard sometimes!
