We were coming off of Triceratop Spin on Saturday 5/31 and I saw a member of the dream team, the people I was with did not realize what was happening, but I did! We got dream fastpasses...if we would have gotten up and been to the park early like I wanted to be, it never would have happened.....:cool1:

So around 10:30 seems to be the Dream Time?
I don't know that there is a set time that things happen. We got little things all during the day. It does seem to me that the bigger things happen early in the morning, shortly after the park opens.

We got lanyards with pins coming out of the Haunted Mansion at the MK on our second day (back in January). :woohoo:
Two days later, when my god-daughter (age 8) and I were having dinner at the Garden Grill at Epcot (on a very cold evening), Dale (or was it Chip?) came over to our table with the manager and gave my god-daughter a slip that let us walk up the exit of any one ride - but it was only good for that day (and it was already well after 8:00 PM). My GD wanted to ride Test Track, so we raced over there after we'd finished eating and she proudly handed her "ticket" to the greeter at the ride. The greeter looked very sad and said "I'm sorry, but you really don't need that...there's no line". We literally walked up and got directly into a car - they didn't even bother to do the pre-show.
There really wasn't time to use it on anything else at that point, and since it was only good for that day, she kept it as a momento.
The other thing we got wasn't really, officially a "Year of a million dreams" item, I don't think. At AK, while I was buying a jacket, my GD was looking at these tiny plush characters with magnets in them. After I made my purchase we walked off down the street, and after a couple hundred yards my GD noticed that one of the figures had attached itself to her "First visit" pin. So we turned around and walked back. When my GD explained what had happened and gave it back to the lady in the store, she was very nice and gave my GD a set of two pins. She was very proud of them. ::yes::

We just got back from our trip. Our children got special retired pins from a CM in AK. And my son received a fast pass for the ride of his choice. In the MK when we got our Pooh fast passes, we got an extra fast pass to another ride. And in Epcot we all got free popcorn. It seemed that extras were being given out all over.:cool1:

we went on our 1st disneyland vacation lastweek and on our 1st day, we were exiting buzz lightyear and we saw the dreamteam with the dream fastpasses!!! we were so excited!! on their passes they have rides for both parks on there so we didn't have to wait in any lines that day. on the same day, we walked over to california adventure and we just got off of california screamin, and a cm walked up to us and asked if we would like to premiere toy story mania(it opens up in disneyland june 17th) well, i was like shut up-yes, we would love to. :cool1: only the cm and family got to go that day. we had 2 people asks us how we got to go. a lot of people in disneyland doesn't know about the dream team so they were asking us where they could buy the dream fastpasses!!:rotfl:

Were they tink pins that were exactly the same? If so, for those, they are a YOAMD prize I believe. You're supposed to keep one and give the other one away to someone.

I won 2 Magical Moments on 2 different occasions recently. I was the first family for both Camp Minnie-Mickey and Character Landing. I got group pictures with both sets of characters, and also got a certificate for the Camp Minnie-Mickey one. It was awsome! Here are pictures:

We arrived at Epoct around 10am Saturday May 31 for the last weekend of the flower and garden festival. We forgot to grab a map and hadn't been to Epcot in forever, so we just wondered into on of the Innovations places and there they were - just handing out those pretty ears same as Budcollector posted pics of. I had forgotten about the Dreams promo, so that was a nice surprise. Then while standing in a 50 minute wait line for Soarin, a guy came up to DH and I and gave us his fastpass tickets that we used right then and there - and he wasn't even from Disney, just another friendly visitor!

In July we were eating at a restaurant in Disneyland with my family and my SIL and her 2 sons. Just as we were being seated, a stranger gave her the remainder of a booklet of meal tickets. We used it to take about $60 off our bill.
Thanks to whoever you were - you made my day with that!

while it would be awesome to win something while we are there. I feel like my family already has won with us being able to go to Disney World this year! We went three years ago and we are so looking forward to getting away from the "real world". So many people dream of going and we are blessed to go again. This is our million dream.... maybe I can make it happen again in a few years .

You used to be able to walk into any Disney store on Main Street and ask any CS for "I made magic" stickers.
They were free and the object was to give 2 stickers to anyone you felt could use little magic. And they in turn could give one to someone. You kept the last one for yourself.
Does anyone know if those stickers are still available?

We got back last night from our week vacation. We didn't receive any of the official dreams, but we did get:
free ice cream bars for all 4 of us at a cart in Epcot
extra fast passes when we got Pooh fast passes twice
a free child's meal at 1900 Park Fare breakfast
and our favorite..... Fifth Row center seats for Nemo in AK when there was standing room only as we walked in. My daughter was very sad that she couldn't see. A CM, Chris heard her and said that he was granting her wish and took us up front. It was wonderful. Both girls loved it. that was a great wish come true for us!!!!!.

Friends of mine are down in WDW now. She called last night to tell me she got a dream. They were in the AK and were approached with EMH passes for AK that night. She said it was awesome. They all got front seats at the Lion King show among getting to go on attractions like Dinosaur, Expedition Everest....I know it made their night.

Just back from a wonderful week in WDW,
We were given MK Dream fastpasses on Wednesday June 25 at 10:15am while we were leaving my now favorite ride LOL It's a Small World :goodvibes
No one wanted to ride it hehehe, but we all knew we would get out of the hot sun and there was no wait , so we went ;)
My 2 DDs received many pins (usually tink, so they would trade them) from CMs
For anyone going soon the dream squad was out in full force at each park ( we saw people with dream fastpasses and ears at every park, we even saw a dream given to a family at WL they were the first family on the boat for that day (it was also Wed) they were handed a balloon bouquet and plastic swords, plastic wands and some other little trinkets.

We stayed at the Walt Disney world resort for ten days in June (for our Honeymoon), we met the "dream team" twice.
The 9th of june we received magical mouse-ears while coming off the "crush & gusher" at Typhoon lagoon.
And we got an autographed "pooh & friends" magical moment certificate while we were having a character breakfast at the christal palace.
Other than the yoamd prizes, we got a lot of little "magical moments" awarded to us, because of our Honeymoon button!!:thumbsup2
It was great! (And the ears went home with us to holland!)

DH and I were on our anniversary trip last summer and received a little moment of magic. We received 2 free fudge-dipped, candy coated marshmallow treats from the candy shop at DHS. I have a feeling these little acts by the CM are typical and are just more noticed now b/c of the YOAMD. It is so nice and adds so much, even a little treat like we got! CM's love to see a button like "Happy Anniversary" or 1st Time Visitor. We got so many congratulations and well-wishes. It makes you feel like everythings even more magical!

No dreams on our Apr. '08 vacation, but we got several on our Feb. '07 vacation, including the coveted fast pass lanyard! All other Dreams we received were of the fast pass or go to the front of the line variety. Also we found several dreams (Fast pass invites for certain rides) The Cast Members were leaving them lying around the park. I asked a Cast Member when I found one to be sure it was legit. It always pays to read that scrap of paper you see lying on a window ledge in the POTC Que!!:)

Last Sept, on our arrival night my kids were given free mickey ear ice cream from a cart in Epcot, then we won Dream fast passes exiting Space Mountain a couple days later. We were hooping and yelling we were so excited. :cool1:
Then near the end of our week, my 7 yr old son spotted the Dream Team and ran up to one of them and started chatting, he encouraged us to walk with him as he talked with us and a few minutes later was handing out dream lanyards with 2 pins on each. :yay: :woohoo:
An hour or so later we walked back by that way to go to soarin and they were there. They said "Congratulations AGAIN, you've won fast passes" It was a SUPER magical day. The YOAMD really made our last trip. I hope Disney continues the random acts of kindness after 2008. Sure is magicalpixiedust:

Thus far, the only thing I have been given is a free fast pass to see the Philharmagic from a Pooh Fastpass machine. Great show by the way. I love Disney movies and it really captures the spirit of them.
I am really starting to think that one of the main reasons I never really get anything else is because I am never there with a family, just with my 2 friends and we walk EXTREMELY fast and pay little to no attention to our surroundings. lol. Thats why those free Fastpasses caught me so off guard.

Whether being in a family helps you win bigger prizes, I don't know. But the little prizes are all about time and place, so it doesn't matter if you are alone or with a hundred people
I was alone walking through Innoventions at EPCOT when I won a dream fast pass.
And I was with one person on It's a Small World in the Magic Kingdom, where the Dream Team was giving out dream fast passes on the exit ramp.
Moving fast and not being observant may make it harder to win. Both times I won, I was being strategic about where I was in the morning.

My Mom and my daughter won dream ears while getting off RRC one early am. And both my daughters got a set of the Tinkerbell pins at our resort POP. It was fun... the girls looked all day for another pair of sisters to give the other ones to. Also at HS we wanted a drink and stopped at a kiosk... we ordered our drinks and their register wouldn't work right..so the guy said Its the year of a million dreams enjoy your cokes! and just gave them to us! all this happened when we went in feb 08... when we went 11/06 right after it started...we didn't see/get anything

I have spent a total of 19 days in Disney World during "Year of a Million Dreams". I have not been awarded anything. I always thought it was because I dont have a little girl in a Disney Princess dress. I have had a wonderful time every trip. So, no real complaints. But it would have been nice.....:confused3

My daughter, one of my sons and I won dream fastpasses in Aug.'7 in Epcot getting off a ride (don't remember which one now). I was totally surprised and really didn't even remember it was the YOAMD. I have been very lucky winning things over the years in local contests (3 trips total, 2 in one year alone!). So anything I win, to me, is great. No win is too small!

3 of us won dream ears coming off Triceratop Spin last week. We were at WDW for 3 weeks and there were 11 of us for 1/2 of that trip. I guess that just proves how random these dreams are. Since I have 2 boys and only 2 won I gave my ears to the third and they were all very happy :thumbsup2

We had just arrived at the Magic Kingdom and my 5 year old daughter had decided it was time for her first "roller-coaster". It was her 6th trip so had taken a while to pluck up the courage. We went on Goofy's Barnstormer which she loved. As we got off we were all awarded dream fastpasses for the day. RESULT !! Now she is hooked on roller coasters for life! Thanks Disney

My mom, stepdad, and friend won Dream FP at HS while standing in the holding area (right before you watch the little video thing) on RnR. They asked everyone what this year's theme was then everyone went crazy. :) And I was the nice one that told them to go ahead without me! hehe

In Feb. 2008, our DD (4) got a Tink pin and certificate from Captain Jack, a CM who pilots one of the boats in the Epcot lagoon. In Mar. 2008, my DH, DD and I all got lanyards and a pack of pins coming off of the train at the Main Street Station in MK. Sweet!
Now we're pin collectors! Heh, they're certainly making their money back from us on those freebies! ;)

I had requested the free character autographs from my DDs a couple months ago. When they arrived, I realized they had misspelled my DD age 12, who wanted a picture of Tinkerbell. So I sent in another postcard asking for another picture. Just got the second one yesterday with the correct spelling, and they included the dream Tinkerbell pins (one to keep, and one to give away)! That was unexpected, we have been mailing in our Dream giveaway postcards daily, yet have gotten nothing. The pins are beautiful and we can't wait to give the other away when we are in WDW in Dec. BTW, I am giving my DDs their autographed pictures (the others like Ariel and all the princess) as a gift the first morning of our trip. I will up date this if anymore Dreams happen. :cool1:

On our first day of our 2008 trip, my family won the Dream Fastpasses for the MK. We were exiting Peter Pan's Flight at around, idk, nine something in the morning. It was great! I found this information in the book, Disney on a Dime from my library. All you have to do is send a postcard or letter (one request per card/letter) to the following address:
The Walt Disney Co.
Attn: Fan Mail Dept.
500 South Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521
They are in Black and White, 8 1/2 x 11 on Kodak paper, good quality. Mine were signed using a silver pen. I am thinking about having them framed for the girls after I give them to them. It only took about 2 to 3 weeks for them to come. Enjoy, there isn't much free these days. princess:

I was about 6 months pregnant when the YOAMD first started. My husband and I were passing an ice cream cart on our way into the World Showcase at Epcot. The cart attendent said we looked like we could use an ice cream...lol. Now, I am not sure if it was because it was hot and I was pregnant or if we "won a dream"... Too bad for me, I am lactose intolerant - so my hubby got the Mickey Ice Cream. Yay for him. Now, I kid you not, we have been to all of the Disney parks about 2 dozen times in the past 8 months, and we have yet to receive any more "dreams"...we have watched countless others, but never us. Maybe it is time to get pregnant again?? NOT!!

We were at DTD a few weeks ago and were stopped by 4 Dream Team members and given the YOAMD Mickey ears. It was a bit embarassing bc my two boys were so taken aback they refused for awhile to take the ears. :rotfl:
As it was my DS's 4th b'day, we had a few extra magical moments happen while we were there:
I stopped with DD4 to trade pins at our resort, with the CM at the DVC desk, and he gave him 2 special pixie dust Tinkerbell pins with no trade.
A sweet CM walked up to us outside of Pecos Bill and gave everyone chocolate chip cookies out of a basket she was carrying.
Received a complimentary upgrade to bunk bed room with Savanna View at AKL. Our ressie was for a standard room.
On numerous occasions the kids were stopped by friendly CM's and given stickers and pins.
Our "Uncle Tim" at 50's Primetime bringing all the kids free souvenir drinks with light up Captain Hook's
No wonder I wish I could just stay an entire summer. Everything about WDW is just magical for us, the minute we see the first Disney street sign on the highway, we know we've arrived. Brings a tear to my eye everytime...

Well our very first WDW trip complete. We LOVED it. My hubby even said he wants to go again--this time without the kids. I am ALL for that.
While we did not receive any large dream prizes we did however get suprise fass passes for Peter Pan's Flight. I was in line for FP's for 9 of us when a CM stopped me and asked, 'how many are in your party?' I told her 9 and she counted out and handed me 9 instant FP's. That was nice. saved us a load of time and let us get to Space Mountain--Woot!!
On day 3 we went to EPCOT and as we were entering the park was stopped by (I think a Dream Team member) She asked me if we had been at WDW for less than 24 hours. I of course told her the truth. She just said with a frowny smile on her face, "thanks." I wonder what the lucky people got. HUmm. Oh well. I guess I 'honestly' paid it forward huh?
We were also given a FP by another guest. It was the child switch ticket they were unable to use for the Tower of Terror. We had already been on it 2x's and decided to aim for another time with the Switch FP but layer decided we needed to return to ur resort room cuz of tired kiddos. So we paid that FP forward too.
And the sweetest moment on our trip was the first morning there we were able to get to Tink's treasures first and my 6 y/o Tink Lover daughter was asked to wake up Tink. I thought she would break the wake up wand as she was vigorously pounding the wand on Tink's lil sleeping chest. She got a special pin only those who wake up Tink get. And the CM also gave my 8 y/o daughter the same pin since she was there too. I thought that was sweet of her. For the rest of the trip she told EVERYONE that she 'woked up Tinkerbell and made her mad.' It was the cutest thing.
I am ready for the second honeymoon now. I need to get planning.
I am still hoping that our entry is picked for the mail-in portion of the Sweepstakes--but I won't hold my breath--I will only dream. :wizard:

We were in DW Nov 06, didn't have anything happen or see anything (it was right at the begining). We are going in Nov 08, crossing our fingers, but boy I will cry like crazy i anything did happen! But a GOOD cry!!! Last year my grandparents took a cross country drive for their 50th annivarsary and 70th b-days (all 3 happened within a 4 day period last May). They drove from the Detroit area to Disneyland via Rt.66. I told them I would make their reservations to get an "online discount"--- they don't have a computer. Really I just wanted access to their account info so we could order a gift basket and stuff like that. I actually called to make the reservation and spoke with a WONDERFUL lady and told her all about them. They are the greatest people, they met and had their first kiss in 3rd grade. Grandpa said to her at 8 years old he was going to marry her and he did and all these years later they act like a couple of teenagers. Secretly I had hoped they would do something for them, but wasn't counting on it. I had no idea what was to be in store for them. When they arrived at check in for a standard room at Paradise Pier, the check in was taking forever. My grandma said people were checking in and they were thinking, is there a problem or something? Thankfully they didn't get angry, becasue a few minutes later their check in lady ame out with a bunch of balloons and told them they were being upgraded to the best suite in the hotel (it retails for $2000 a night)! That was their home for the next 3 nights. They had a beautiful view of California Adventure (she took lots of photos for us to see!!!) She called me as they walked to their new room and said, "What Did You DO???" I was so excited for them. Moments after they got to the room their was a knock at the door, room service brought up 2 giant Mickey rice crispie treats with fudge dipped ears. Every day they were left a small vase of roses and when they got back from their annivarsary dinner there was a heart made out of rose petals on the bed. Also, a couple of times in the park the rides stopped and the ride operators had everyone in line wish them congrats and let them ride on the rides alone. We had had Mickey & Minnie Bride and groom t-shirts made that had their wedding and annivarsary dates on them, and ordered them the bride and groom ears and pins which they wore proudly. They said literally 100s of people wish them well, and it was truly magical. Also at check out they were given a signed Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom photo wishing them the best. It was great!!! I would love to have my little princesses have a Magical Moment, but if I never do, it would have to be huge to beat the happiness of having this happen to my very wonderful grandparents. They go on all our trip with us so maybe when we go in November they will bring us some luck....

HI, we will be there the week of Thanksgiving, we arrive the Saturday before Thanksgiving and leave Disney the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I know people say not to go then, but we have gone the last couple trips and it works for us. I love their story too. My grandparents are the greatest people. They raised me since I was born so they kind of are my mom and dad, just better. They totally were meant to be together, born 1/2 day apart, met at 8 and at 71 still as happy if ever. It could not have happened to better people.
I hope you have a great trip, I am sure you will... Bye Neighbor....

Last October my daughter recieved 2 tinkerbell pins from a cast member. We didn't know that these were part of their "Dreams" promotion. We just thought it was the usuall Disney Nice. Which it was. We are going again in a month. Can't wait, and now we know about the Dream Team, and plan to keep an eye out for them. :cheer2:

Hi
My DH,2DD my Mom and I went to DW in August 07. We were very lucky to experience some magical moments while we were there. My 5 year old dd was made an official princess by a cast member and she rode Cinderella's horse. The CM announced her name and home town to the group waiting for the ride and gave her a certificate. My 8 year old Kristen was given an embroidered mickey princess hat by 2 CM's who had the same name as her. My DH lost our spray fan and when he was buying another one he told the story to the CM who was waiting on him and she gave him a certificate to get a new one. On our last day the most exciting wish was granted. We were the first family of the day at the MK. We rode on the train with the characters and they all signed autograph books which they gave to us for our dd's and we opened the park! It was unbelievable! We received a free photo with Mickey and the girls both got 2 Tink pins one to keep and one to pass on to share the magic! We love Disney and we are counting the days until our next trip in August 09

We just got back from WDW and had the best trip yet! The past few times we were there we won Dream Fast Passes for some of the parks but this time, we won something almost everyday! I guess because it's getting towards the end of the promotion they need to give them all out. We first got there on Friday 8/22 and we were in Magic Kingdom and we got 2 Magical Moments, first we were getting Bottled drinks from a snack cart and they gave us one for free! The whole trip we got so many magical moments from snack carts we had the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan and we had 12 snacks left on the last day! Then the second day we were at DHS and we were going into One Man's Dream and the Dream Team was there and we won Dream Cloud Ears and Dream Fast Passes for that park. A few days later we were at DHS again it was really unbelievable how the day panned out... First we were walking over to go on Rockin' Rollercoaster and we stopped outside Tower of Terror to get a drink and we got a free drink again as a magical Moment. and the dream team came out as we were waiting in line at Rockin' RollerCoaster and gave our whole group Lanyards with YOMD Pins on them they were really nice. We then went right over to the Art of Animation to do that before the Parade started and we were waiting in line to go in and the dream team came out but didn't have their white vests on so we just figured they were wandering around, then as we were about to go in they came back out with their vests on and gave all 26 people waiting in line VIP Seating Passes for Fantasmic that night. (they were great seats right in the middle) A few days later we were back at DHS early in the morning, we got there at about 7:30am (thinking the park opened at 8am but we found out it didn't open until 9) While we were waiting at the turnstiles a Cast Member was talking to us and asking us questions and asked if we ever opened a park before. We really didn't know what was involved because we saw the opening at Epcot the day before which was just a family that said Welcome to Epcot in a microphone and they let everyone in. So she asked if we wanted to open the park and we were excited to do that so she brought u through into the park early and we were taken to a air conditioned VIP lounge until we needed to go to the opening location. We got pictures outside of the Hat with no one in the background which was cool too. They then took us to open the park where we got to be part of this skit with a director and a woman named Tutti Frutti and we did this little skit that lasted about 10 minutes and We yelled "Hollywood Here we Come" at the end and were driven off waving with the crowds following behind us. They asked what our favorite ride was (Tower of Terror) and they drove us to the entrance where we were the first ones on the ride. We thought we were going to be in with the first group, but no, We were the only ones in the first room you go in to watch the video and then we were the only 2 people in the ride car as we did the ride. Knowing this, we thought we would smile and wave at the camera before we dropped so we could buy the photo after the ride. When we got off the ride, our guide was waiting there for us and she already had the photo printed and in a folder which they gave to us complimentary! It was so much fun, if you get to the parks early, be sure to get in line right away and drum up conversation with the cast members! This is my first posting on this and I was wondering if there is a way to share photos with these postings? Anybody know how?
We are going back in December for Christmas and we are looking forward to seeing whether we are as lucky then as we were on this trip!
Has anyone else won the Lanyards with the Pins? I have never seen those before?

Congrats!!! I hope I'm that lucky in 11 days!!!! (Although right now I'll be thrilled just to be there with good weather!) We went last year and just missed the dream team 2 times, but my sister-in-law won the lanyards when they were there last year, they are really nice! If you sign up for a photobucket account, you can load pics there and then click on img link and then paste it in your post and the pics will show up! Hope you do, I would love to see the pics! So jealous you got to open up the park! How fun!!! :thumbsup2

We got the lanyards in June as we exited Thunder Mountain Railroad early in the morning. They were really nice. We had seen the cast members while getting on the ride and wondered what they were up to. Many people got to receive the lanyards.

Just back from a week at WDW. Had a wonderful vacation. Saw the Dream Teams out and about often this week. Won no Dream Team type prizes, but we did have a great Animal Kingdom Park day. We were chosen to open the park, then DD was chosen to open the tip board for the day, and then we were granted VIP passes to The Lion King Show.
Also, some little things. DS lost DD spray mister fan in Epcot and we were told to go to Guest Services and they would have one for us. (They did) and DD left her Hidden Mickey Book in a restaurant. We filled out a lost and found slip at our hotel and returned from the parks to find a new book waiting for her in the room. All of the CMs were wonderfully pleasant and the kids loved the interactions with CMs and characters. It was a great trip.
Both kids also got Tink pins when we were in DL this June. They were hunting Hidden Mickeys at a restaurant and found them all so the CM gave them the pins for their hard work.

I know this is a little late but we were at The World in December 2007 and we also got to open the park at Animal Kingdom. Apart from the tip board we got to walk the rope and then got to be in our own vehicle on the African Safari as well as VIP seats at Lion King. In addition we were initially on our way to Everest and my daughther let it slip that now we had lost our place. When we got off the Safari the CM handed us fastpass (hand written) ticket for Everest. However when we got to Everest the queue was short and we ended up not using it.
Later in the day the park became a little busy and instead of using the fastpass ticket my daugther asked (and we said it was fine) gave it to another family that would have had a long wait.
Apart from this we also got Dream Fastpasses (twice on different days). A CM also asked my daughter for a PIN at Star Wars and she happily asked him to choose and gave him one. When she handed it to him - he gave her it back along with two idenitical pins (2 tinker bells) for her kind act. He told her to keep one and give one away - which we did later.
Anyway we had a blast and the dream teams made it very special for us :cool1:

My husband and I have not been able to make the trip to WDW this year and have tried our hand at luck with mailing in postcards each day for the YOAMD. So far we have received a pair of YOAMD ears by mail. It was fun and very exciting for my children to get such a neat surprise in the mail. Definitely worth the postage we've spent:yay:

I won a dream FP going into Imagination at Epcot at 10:20 today. They must have had a stack of 100 passes. I was the only person on the ride. Nobody came in behind me either. After I got off of the ride I went over to Innoventions. They were handing them out at the entrance. No, I didn't take another one. Funny thing is you didn't need them. Soarin' was walk on at 10:45 and 20 minutes at 2pm.

A couple of small but fun YOAMD magic moments during our visit last week:
1. Upon entering the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground in Hollywood Studios around 10:30am on Sunday, September 7, 2008, we each received a YOAMD Mickey ears hat -- blue hat with silver ears. They had a big black bag and everyone entering the playground got one. (When we were finished playing -- 10 or 15 minutes later -- they had stopped giving them out.)
2. I got into the line for Dumbo on Thursday, September 11, 2008 with my 2 year old son. The line was short so there wasn't anyone entering the gate ahead of us or behind us. A lady with a black messenger bag asked if I'd like my son to be "pilot of the day." We received a Dumbo pilot's license and a certificate of our YOAMD magical moment. She also had a Prince of the day sticker she gave to us. We were brought to the front of the line. This was a little treat, sort of like a special Fast Pass, but it was fun.

In March of this year I went to WDW with my family (I was 7 months pregnant) and we won the fast pass necklace at Epcot. We were just getting off of spaceship earth and the dream team was there to give them to us!! I love disney, that was my 14th trip. Our extended family can't believe how much we go and it never gets old to us!!!!!!

My 7 year old son, Noah won the Cinderella Castle Suite! It happened as he was coming off Test Track with his Grammy and cousin. It was so amazing! We went back to our hotel and packed a bag and were picked up by the Castle Concierge. We had a quick photo shoot in front of the castle and then it was off to the parade. We were Grand Marshalls of the parade. After the parade we were taken on a few rides withot waiting and then it was up to the suite. The pictures do not do it justice. They even let us bring up the other 6 members of our party for a tour. We hung out in the suite for a while and then went down to dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table. The Fairy Godmother announced us at dinner. After dinner we went back to the suite for a while and then out for a night of rides with 2 escorts and no lines! After the fireworks we went back up to the suite as everyone else was heading out. Our 3 kids were asleep in a matter of minutes and my husband and I stayed up like two little kids. Checking out everything in utter amazement. I still can't believe this all really happen. After we told t he kids we were going to Disney World all my son talked about was winning the night in the castle. I kept telling him not to get his hopes up because the odds of winning were ridiculous and I didn't want him to be disappointed. He never gave up hope. Have faith in your dreams!

We went to Disney World in '03. My Grandmother was actually dying from breast cancer, and her wish before she died was to take her last granddaughter to Disney World. It was a very special trip (yet sad). We stayed at Wilderness and drove all the way down there in an R.V.
I don't think YOMD had started yet, but I do remember my Gran and Gramp were picked to open up a show in MGM. They dressed up in sailor uniforms and were a part of the show. It was so funny. And we met the Evil Queen, and she and I had a "lovely" conversation. She asked me to come to her castle sometime to eat apples with her, and I looked at her and said, "Do you think I'm stupid? Your apples are posionous." haha It was great. She actually cracked a smile and had to turn away. (: But much pixie dust happened around us. There were a few kids who got to ride in a tea cup with Alice and the Mad Hatter. It was sensational. They were adorable, and it made me so happy that the characters just know how to bond with the kids that come in there. Thankfully we're going back for the real YOMD! I'm super excited. I hope we get something, but if we don't- hey! I'll live. I just hope I can see a smile on some child's face, because it brings back a lot of memories from my first Disney trip.
There's my story, and I just love this thread.

DW, DS and I just planned a last minute trip to DL in December. We'll be there for a week and it's our little guy's first trip and sort of an anniversary trip for us. I really hope we get 'dreamed' but just going there is a dream in itself.
By sort of anniversary it will be the anniversary of when we first started dating. That's right folks! Even after being married for 4 years she still wants to celebrate the dating anniversary. Oh well...whattya do!

Enjoy, there isn't much free these days. princess:
I guess I don't know how to post--I just asked the question in the previous post--I hope this works.

My family and I were in WDW in June 08 for 2 weeks and we were staying at Port Orleans Riverside, our favorite hotel. Anyways my mom is one of those people who has to arrive at the park before it opens and leave when it closes. So we went to Blizzard Beach one day and were like the 50th person in line that day it was amazing. So while waiting in line my family and I were talking about Summit Plummit and heres the conversation lol...
Dad- "So Britt, are you going to ride Summit Plummit with me and the boys"
(I am the only girl and have 2 younger brothers who will do anything)
Me- "Pshh, yeah rightt"
Dad- "Why"
Me- "Cause I've seen girls go down and they guys are just waiting for their tops to fall of at the bottom and with my bad luck it will happen to me"
Dad- "Fine itll just be me and the boys then"
So after that a Lifeguard approached us and started talking about Summit Plummit and ask me specifically if i was going to go on it (i guess she heard me talking or something) and i said no and explained that i was afraid my top would fall off and then she asked if i would go on it if my family was the only family in the park and i was like YES! so when they opened the gates we were the first family in the park and i got introduced to infront of every guest that was entering teh park that day as the "Ski Captain of the day." We had our own Disney Photo Pass Photographer and everything it was amazing. Then i got a key to a locker and the lifeguard said go open it, there were free mugs and towels in there it was so cool. then we were walking towards summit plummit so i thought but she stopped us and said brittany since you are the ski captain you get your own pavilion today. then we went up to the top of summit plummit and waited for the call to go down it was so nerve racking just waiting there and looking down and over head but the view was gorgeous! I was the last to go down because everyone wanted to see my face at the end of the slide lol It was so awesome and a great expereience and it is so cool so say i was part of the Year Of A Million Dreams I will never forget it.

i forgot to post this.... :headache:
On our cruise the end of June (for YOAMD), we were chosen as the Dream Family. Not the greatest perks, but we did: get to wait in 'Concierge Lounge', CM escorted us to the front of the line to get Bubba's pager and officially check in to the kid's lab, we were able to board first, have our picture in the terminal with both characters (instead of just the 1 that is normally there) and have a plate of goodies delivered to our cabin each afternoon....oh, and we got a certificate to commemerate the occassion.
That was about the extent of our YOAMD.

We just returned from 6 day stay. We have three kids under 5 the little one turned two the first day of our trip. We were told we most likely would not get a trundal bed on riverside. We got the bed the building and floor we requested. Then later in the trip the baby was given a pretzel by a cast member in Germany. You would have though she was given gold. She marched around showing her father, brother, and sister. Later in the trip my son was given a ice cream by a cast member. Then on the last day my son was picked for jeti training. We kept telling him it most likely wouldn't happen. I don't go to the show because I didn't want to see him so unhappy when he wasn't picked. Well he showed me the tape. Not to mention the countless other little things other little things from taking pictures for us, to giving up seats on the bus. The trip was a real dream come true.

Not sure if the first qualifies as a dream, but it sure was to us -- We didn't have to pay for our refrigerator. I told the CM that it wasn't being used for medical purposes but she said, don't worry about it -- no charge!
We were also fortunate enough to be the family to open the LTT on our first day at MK. We got to ring the bell and read an announcement that LTT was open for business. We were given a Certificate and a big bag of pixie dust! It was wonderful. My mom hadn't been to Disney since 1980 and it was just so magical that that happened for us and her!

My family (me, DH and 4YO DD) stayed at Fort Wilderness 10/26-11/1/08. The first night we were there, we went to the campfire singalong. We were sitting on the front row, as we had gotten there super early, and a very nice cast member approached us. He asked if we were aware of the YOMD, we told him we were, and he advised us that as part of the YOMD, they wanted us to come backstage and have a meet and greet with Chip n Dale. We were the ONLY ONES! We got several minutes with Chip n Dale; DD was able to play with them, we took a lot of pictures, and then we got to escort them to the stage and were introduced to the crowd! DD cried because she was so happy. It was such a wonderful way to start our first trip to WDW...and it was something I'll never forget. I took over 800 pictures that week...and my favorite one is DD escorting Chip n Dale down to the stage - she is between them, each one holding her hand. Magical!

This past Sept. we were showered with Dreams. The week before we were to leave for our trip, we received a call from Disney saying that everyone in our Grand Gathering had been given an upgrade to either OKW or SSR. My family was given a GV at OKW.
On our second day at the parks we were approached as we were heading onto the safari and were given a private safari ride, just for the 8 of us.
And on our fifth day, we were awarded an extra hour in the MK after the park closed.

This past September I went to WDW for the second time in my life. (The first time I was 4, and we only went to MK. Anyways...) I went with my die-hard Disney friends, and on our last day we went to AK and won Dream FP! Here's how it happened:
When we entered the park we headed straight to Dinosaur. After riding it once (and having the scare of my life when it stopped for several seconds...in the pitch dark...but with all the sounds still going...at the part right before the very end...get the picture?) being the psychos we are we decided to ride again since the line was (very) short (walked right on twice).
When we entered the preshow room I noticed a couple of CM standing by the doors leading to the rest of the wait area. They weren't there the first time. I was curious but didn't think much about it. After the preshow the doors opened, but the CM stopped us from exiting. They congratulated us for being winners and gave us each a Dream FP for AK!
My friends and I had been hoping upon all hope that we would win something, and we did! It was very exciting! Not only did this happen, but later that day at MK we got a surprise FP from the Peter PF for Philharmagic! Our last day at Disney was very "magical"! Fabulous!

Well to update my previous post, we never won any ears, dream fast passes or any big prizes. But we did have a couple more small things happen to us that made our trip magical.
On our last day(yesterday) we decided to have a park hopper day to do the little things that we didn't get done. At AK my wife wanted to go and ride everest, but my six yr old daughter was a little scared because of the size of the mountain (she had already rode Rock n roll roller coster, and space mountain, go figure) and the CM watching the single rider line asked my daughter if she would like to go behind the scenes and watch the coaster from the control booth, so she took my wife and daughter to the control room and they watched all the video cameras of Everest, and saw them control the ride, and then after that she escorted them straight to the ride and they were able to ride without waiting.
Then that evening at Epcot while waiting for illuminations, my daughter went up to a CM to trade pins with her and after she was finished trading the CM looked over her pins and saw that she had collected the limited edition tinkerbell dreams pin, and I had no idea. She invited our family to be her special guest to come and watch illuminations it was an AWESOME view, we were water side right behind the yorkshire fish booth. Later I found out that we were VIP's because of the pin, if my daughter had not already traded to get the pin then she would have been given one. It was the perfect way to finish off our vacation.

Back in August We took my DD to the magic kingdom for the very first time. I had my secrets printed out and in the backpack. We had already studied the things we really wanted to try to do. She wanted to wake Tinkerbell. When the park opened We ran all the way thru the park. We were one of the first ones thru the gate. Alice & the Madhatter had tried to get her attention. She blew them off to get to the castle to get to Tink's treasures. When we got thru the castle they had not dropped the ropes yet to let you thru. So we were waiting. Out walked the Fairy Godmother. She noticed Lizzie's first trip button. (got it at the hotel) She grabbed her by the hand and escorted us into Fantasyland. We went to Tink's treasures but a family was already in there. (they were not supposed to be in FL yet so they were told to step into the store.) Their oldest daughter didnt want to wake Tink since she found out that my daughter really wanted to. I was touched. The guy pulled out 3 wands so all 3 girls got to wake Tink and got their MM certificates. I looked all day for the wand so I could buy her one. The wands are actually the ones that are given out at the Cinderellas castle meals. I asked a girl if could buy one, I told her about our magical moment, She said let me check. She came back with a bag. It had 2 wands in there. She refused to take my money. Lizzie and I thanked her so much. It really helped make it a magical day. She did like playing the hidden mickey game. We rode POC numerous times. She loved to yell out when going thru certain parts.

Well, I am not as happy:sad2: as I could be now that we are at the end of the YOAMD. I won't be there for the finale so I won't be getting anything.
I've been about 5 times since it was announced and thought just maybe I had a chance. This is with the last two trips being 2 weeks apart (don't ask:confused3 ).
I was mindful  to see if I could see anyone with DFP's but I didn't see much. I thought the world would be much more magical than it was considering it was YOAMD.
I don't think the current theme is very exciting.
Does this mean that all the magical happenings that CM shared with guests is over?.?
Well I will wait to see. I Love :thumbsup2 WDW without a doubt and nothing will affect my going but wish that aspect of it stays.

Well I just returned yesterday. This was our second trip during the YOMD promotion and I am sad to report we received no magic dreams. We never even saw someone else getting a little magic. I am a little sad-I was hoping for anything-fastpass, lanyard, anything!!!

Just wanted to say that my family got some amazing pixie dust this trip (12/19-12/24)!!
We received Dream Fastpasses at Magic Kingdom when getting off the Haunted Mansion!!! :D :cloud9: :cloud9:
And then my brother got a special certificate signed by the staff at Le Cellier and a cake with a candle in it for his birthday! He also was wished happy birthday by just about EVERY cast member!
We also got an extra basket of range balls for free at Disney's Magnolia/Palm/Oak Trail Driving Range!
It was an amazing trip, and just being there at Christmas time was super!
Oh! And I saw LOTS!!! of people with Dream Fastpasses at MK, lots of the lanyard pin sets and a few of the ears- Also saw some DFP at AK!

Last Sunday (12-21) I went to Animal Kingdom for the day. I was very sad to see that almost all of the YOAMD fanfare was gone. I never saw any dreamteam members or anything. I had been trading pins during the day. I approached a cast member because his pins had caught my eye. BLue, shiny and sparkly. About that time another person came up to try and get the pin first. So we played a game and I won. I got the Mickey and Minnie YOAMD pin.
I was excited. I'm on the prowl for the Goofy one. My friend went back in 2007. Her hubby and oldest DD won the lanyards with the YOAMD pins on them. Her hubby gave his to their youngest DD. I would never take their pins. They did offer. I told them to hold onto them.

While we were there on Dec 9th my son had a "wish granted" it was wonderful...for me at least.
I was waiting by Mickey's Philharmagic and saw Kirk walk by I nodded and said hello to him. When my family came out we grabbed our stroller and went towards Peter Pan and there he was again. So I decided to walk up and ask where stroller parking was (hoping that MAYBE we were right on que) he told us two different places, so I told my DH to go park the stroller and we'll wait here for him to go on Peter Pan. So my little one traded pins with Kirk and then he started talking to my son Daniel (8) and asked if he liked Peter Pan and told him to go on the ride he had to be one of the lost boys. Then asked him if he wanted to be a lost boy and my son said, "No I don't wanna be lost." :lmao: Then Kirk proceeded to give him the pledge of the lost boys gave him a certificate and walked us right on the line. It was awesome!!! I think Kirk got a kick out of it too...look at his smile!
Here he is taking his pledge and then brushing off the pixie dust...

We visited WDW over Thanksgiving 2008. On Thanksgiving day we were at Animal Kingdom. While we were walking toward the Lion King Show we were approached by a Disney Cast Member (Fer) and he asked how many were in our group. We had nine, Fer said he only had room for 8. We told him we could be 8 and would love to be a part of whatever he had planned. We were invited to ride on a float in the afternoon parade. What we didn't know was that we were going to ride on Mickey's float. It was so exciting for all of us (6 kids and 2 adults). We were given a disposable camera to take pictures while riding on the float, and had a dedicated PhotoPass photographer that took pictures of us along the way. To top it all off it was my nephew's birthday that day. What a present we will never forget.
In case you're wondering about our unfortunate 9th person- He williningly enjoyed a couple of beers at the Tusker house while we were in the parade!:thumbsup2

We were there Dec. 14 - 21, and our first day, my son and husband won lanyards coming off Goofy's Barnstormer! (My daughters and I had been to visit the princesses, so we saw princesses but missed lanyards!) My sweet, sweet husband immediately took his off and hung it around my neck. Yay, a dream for me, too! :)
On Wednesday of that week, Dec. 17, we won DFP's coming off Mission:Space. The Dream Team folks were inside the area where you play the computer game, on the right side of the exit area... I spotted them, saw what was in their hands, and said Oh, look, kids, we REALLY need to play this game!!! My family looked at me like I was nuts... but I sort of nudged and nodded, and they sort of agreed... then they realized what was going on... woo hoo!
Incidentally, after we finished the game, we went outside and looked for some Dream Team members to take a picture with. They were outside, so we went over to them - there were a bunch of them, with a young couple with two little kids... and the DT invited us to watch the VIDEO they were showing this family - and right there, they won the Cinderella Castle stay. (They won it by being on the right seat in Soarin', so I don't know how they ended up in front of M:S watching the video...) Anyway, that was VERY cool!!!:wizard: :wizard:
We twice just missed Mickey ears... the elevator before our family's won them on Tower of Terror, then our last day, we were at Downtown Disney, and my kids saw some people rounding a corner with them on... they took off, and arrived just as the Dream Team gave out the last two pairs. I consoled them, though, and reminded them that most people don't even win one dream - much less two! :yay:
We saw lots of folks during the week with lanyards, fastpasses, and Mickey ears - seemed like there was still a lot of magic going on!

Wow -- so many cool wishes won and such a long thread! I can't believe the YOAMD is officially over now. It was sooo cool. I hope they keep doing some of these cool things, even if it isn't an official promo any more. I really thing the Dream Squad brought a lot of magic to the parks!

Thanks, from a very sad member of the Dream Squad...it was the most amazing six months of my life and I'm so sorry it's over!! We had a blast and loved every minute of it! We couldn't reach everyone we wanted to, but the excitement of giving away the prizes never, EVER got old - every single one was as exciting as the first! :lovestruc

Thank you CM:goodvibes We loved YOMD, I posted earlier in this thread that we won, FP twice and Lanyards/pins on our Sept 2007 trip. We didn't really see the Dream Team on our last trip beginning of Dec. 08. Except we stopped to talk with the CM who handed out our dreams last year. It kills me now I can't remember his name, but he was A+ SUPER:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 My son thinks he is the coolest. We talked to him about seeing him in the commercial blowing the pixie dust and recognizing him from our winning. We talked a while and then my son traded the other CM there a pin for his sister while she was gone to restroom. Our CM buddy said well that deserves a spreading the magic pin and gave him a tinkerbell pin. That was great, but I would have been fine with nothing, since we were so lucky last time, others deserved the turn you know. I'm sure it is great to get to give out those dreams. :cloud9: We the guests certainly loved it, hope they continue to do little surprises, it really does add to the magic.

We went 12/2-12/4. On 12/3 we went to Magic Kingdom, the place was so packed, lines super long. But we just had to take my daughter on its a small world. As wee exited the boat, a CM stopped me and asked which country was my favorite, I thought that was weird, I answered, we kept walking then another Cm was there and came up to me and said, You just won, a year of million dreams, in my mind, I was like OMG, am I going to get to stay in the castle?! But no, we won the special lanyards and pins. I was the first one off the ride, with my daughter and her dad behind me. Everyone that was on that ride got lanyards.
The next day, we went to Hollywood Studios/MGM. When we entered a CM came up to us, said hi to my daughter and asked us to wait a minute that he had a surprise for us. He came back and gave my daughter 2 pins, disney princesses and tinkerbell, stickers and 3 fast pass tickets for toy story mania. It was only 9:30 Am and apparently there werent any fast passses left for that ride. When we got to the ride, there was a 70 minute wait, we walked right in. My favorite ride of all. She loved it!
I just wish they weren't so many people at the parks sometimes, it really makes it impossible to experience it all well.

Hi, LoveStitch!
Thank you so, so much for all that you and the other CMs at WDW do to make our trips so magical - it is such a special place to our family for lots of reasons, but one of the main ones is how helpful and enthusiastic so many of you CMs are, and the way you seem to go out of your way to make guests feel special. We always do! :)
Just wanted to say thanks!! (And we enjoyed receiving some official dreams on our trip, too!):santa:

We just got back from our Christmas trip on Dec. 19. It was our third trip during YOMD. Our first trip we won the YOMD lanyard getting on the Dumbo ride. Our second we were given fast passes by a CM for the Jungle Cruise. We had been standing deciding whether to wait in line or not and the CM gave us a fast pass for right there. And this time we won FP at Hollywood studios. We really enjoyed YOMD

We went to Walt Disney World over Thanksgiving. First trip for me and my boys, second for my wife who is a life-long mega-Disney fan and had told me about the Year of Million Dreams. We were in Hollywood Studios at Sounds Dangerous when my son was approached by the Dream Squad. Without going into all of the details, we won the night's stay in Cinderella's Castle. Dinner, breakfast, VIP seating at the light parade and several shows, and our own personal tour guide around the Magic Kingdom. The guy was a walking FastPass. My wife especially enjoyed the tour of the underground. The room is fantastic, (white chocolate Cinderella's coach, 400 year old writing desk, and a bathtub with color-changing lights plus more). I think we have more pictures of the room then Disney's insurance company. It was truly a magical evening. If you're reading this, thanks again to Kim, Al, Jansen, and Scott for making our trip unforgettable. Oh yeah, we also each got a pair of the ears.

I went on Jan 12, 2008 for YOMD it was great. I was asked to play a game, and I have a special YOMD award. Other than that, I got a free lemonade icee. I'm not sure if that was for YOMD or because of my birthday in :]] but i got it! My parents got a golden ticket for splash mountian and we walked right on! Best ending we imagined because we didn't get back that year!

YOMD was actually pretty sweet! I had gone to disneyland with a family who was very into rules and more about staying in the hotel rather than having fun in the parks. Quite a few times we had wasted hours (we were there 2 days and spent 11 hours in the middle of the day in the hotel while the park was open)... It made me angry because for a poor college student disneyland is like the dream for me, I only get to go once every 4-5 years so I want to have FUN when I go...
When we finally left to go back to DCA we walked through the Grand Californian hotel (i love that hotel :) its my favorite) and out the entrance and there were 2 guys standing there with dream ears!! They handed us all a pair and then took our photo! it was pretty cool as I collect mouse ears...
Then the very last night we were there and walking out of the park a lady had stopped me and asked where I had gotten my stitch stuffie (ya'll will see him shortly! teehee) and she pulled out a Tinkerbell dream pin and said that earlier in the day a cast member had given her 2 linking pins and that when she left to find someone she thought would make their day. She said the way i was so decked out in disney gear but so sad looking for being in the happiest place on earth (long story, the people i went with ruined the trip for me :() and that I looked like the kind of girl who needed a tinkerbell to go with my peterpan hat!! It was so cool and a very cute pin! so i ended up with two dream items that trip :) very very cool!!

By far my favorite Disney promotion ever! I was one of the Year of a Million Dream Job winners at Disneyland! The greatest weekend of my life! We got the weekend stay at the Disneyland hotel, was able to go to the VIP Finding Nemo Launch Party, I was interviewed on the news, and got a full cast rehearsal so I could perform for 1 day in a Disney Parade! Amazing!

On Jan 10th my siblings and I took our mom to the Magic Kingdom for her birthday. We had all gotten ice cream cones on Main Street just in time to wait for the 3pm parade, but my husband was being picky and really wanted the prepacked Mickey Ears ice cream bar the street vendors sell, so we planned to meet my family when the parade ended and headed towards the front entrance to get his ice cream and find ourselves a spot to watch the parade. Well, when my husband tried to had the CM money to pay for his mickey ears he was told "no thank you, its on us" and as we walked away to find a spot to watch the parade another CM approached us and asked if we wanted ears to match our ice cream, so we both recieved mickey ears. We're still not sure if Disney is continuing the Dreams promotion or it was part of the parade festivities. Anyone else know?

Neither. That was a "Magical Moment", a spontaneous gesture from the CM to you! Those happened long before the YoaMD and will continue long into the future.

We got some of the million dreams hats. Our cousin who came with us got a fantastic limo ride from the airport to the resort. My wife and I were lucky enough to be YoaMD-ed and Magical Moment-ed. In the summer of 2008 we were made "First Family" at the American Adventure at Epcot. We were given special seats during the Voices of Liberty show, then allowed to enter the main theater before anyone else to choose our seats. We were then introduced to the audience. A few weeks ago, while again at Epcot, we were given access to a special viewing area to watch Illuminations. Both were a very neat treat!

We have had awesome fun the last 2 years of a Million Dreams! There were many magical moments, certificates from CMs for HSM trivia knowledge, etc, and I have lost count for the number of Tink pins given to us by CM. My kids have enjoyed sharing them with others. But the best part was Dec 28, 2008 when we were at MK with our best friends visiting from out of state, wearing our dorky matching tshirts (which the preteens were protesting) and we were selected by CM Mark to be the Grand Marshalls for the 3 pm parade! It was so much fun, and all the photo's of us we are a group of grinning idiots! We were all given classic ears with our names on them, put in a VIP spot to view the parade and each family was given a 5x7 photo of our group. It was the coolest ever! Then on Dec 31 at EPCOT we were approached by a CM who told us it was the last day of YOAMD and he had to give away all of his stuff. So he started by giving the 5 kids with us each pins. We got talking with him (we are a chatty folk) and my friend gave the CM a "Happy New Years!" necklace that we all were wearing. He though it was so much fun he dug in his bag for more pins and a lanyard to give us.

We of course got "dreamed" with tink pins and my daughter got pulled into Highschool musical in DEC 2007. But the best two moments i think were not even supposed to be dream moments.
1. My 16 year old made google eyes at Capt. Jack during his skit by Pirates. He of course even called her cute in front of everyone and pulled her into the skit at one point. The next day she went back to see the skit again (crush) and had her camera. She saw him leave and just before he ducked into the cast members only area he pointed to her camera and aske if she wanted a picture. He took her and my son right behind the gate, swept my daughter up into his arms cradle style and let my son take her picture. AWESOME.
2. We were sitting on main street waiting for a parade when the mayor and a couple others came by to entertain us. Then i noticed Scoop. i had just started collecting pins the last year so i had a Price is Right moment and got terribly excited. He was flattered and when he noticed i did not have my lanyard (my pins are attached to my mom bag) He pulled out a lanyard from his carpet bag. But not a standard lanyard. It was personal, with several old pins and one jumbo (the October 1971 huge pin) and made me take it. It weighed 5 lbs but i wore my "bling" the rest of the trip!

It'll probably be kept as is for contests and executive stays (John Lasseter loves to stay at the Dream Suite at DL). Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise recently stayed there, so that's certainly proof that it's being kept intact.

We won twice! The first time we won fast passes for Epcot and the second time we won time in the park after closing. I almost won a suite at Animal Kingdom. My husband sometimes is soooo slow. We were going to check in at Animal Kingdom and no one was in line. As I approached I decided to stop and wait for my husband. A woman asked if she could pass by and get in front and of course I said yes. Then she won!
Oh well, I am sure she deserved it - she was very sweet when she asked if she could go ahead, she could have just done it!

We go to Disney World about 6 times per year so we went several times over that time period. We received special Mickey hats once, very cool. We watched many others win prizes right in front of us or right behind us. Jealous? Of course, but happy to watch it happen. One family won a trip right in front of us, the CM whispered it to me when I asked. I wish we could have won the grand prize, but I'm happy that we got the hats. We'll keep them forever as a keepsake. We leave this Sunday for my birthday, maybe Mickey will surprise me and let me stay in the castle when he sees I've arrived yet again. :rotfl:

We were in Disneyland on the anniversary of opening day. My two daughters and their two cousins were sitting in their strollers on main street wearing their princess dresses while we waited for gramma to get her morning coffee. A cast member came up and started to talk to my girls about their dresses and their favorite princesses. It was so cute! Then she asked if the girls would like a chance to meet the princesses privately! She gave us all passes to a private "princess tea" that afternoon. It was us and 3 of the princesses (snow white, aurora, and belle) We had tea and cakes, took pictures, and chatted with the princesses for about 30 min! My daughters still haven't stopped talking about it.

When we went in June 2008 my daughter was chosen as an honorary "Lost Boy" at the Peter Pan ride. She received a certificate and a pin and and we got to go to the front of the line. That was cool. Also, at MK another day my daughter got an exclusive 'Year of a Million Dreams" pin from a worker. Of course it helped that she had a cast on her arm - so everyone felt bad for her I guess! It was really neat tho.

I've never been to WDW (but I'm going in September for the first time!!!) but I was at DLR in July of 2007 during YOAMD. And I won a lanyard and pins when I got off Indiana Jones Adventure. It was pretty neat!

My 2 Aunts and their families stayed in AK during YOMD and they were booked a crappy room... (literally, the toilet was spewing and they couldn't fix it in time) So a CM walked up to them, apologized for the broken toilet and told them that 2 luxury suites just opened up and that they were welcome to take them! So my Aunts had an up-close view of the animals surrounding the AK resort all week!! Lets just say it made their year (they couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the CMs were) One of my Aunts actually said that she was scared to go back to WDW because of how perfect it was THAT time...:rotfl:

We went three times in the two years that they had a year of a million dreams for at least 5 days each time. We never got anything at all. It sucked a little because we were there so many times. But a friend of mine went for 1 week and they got dream fast passes 3 times. Pretty cool..if I was only them.I did see a lot of people who won special things. I was wishing that I could stay in Cinderellas castle for one night...I guess I should have wished upon a star....my dream might have came true.

When I went in March of 2008, my mom, my sister, and I were waiting in line for the Rock and Roller Coaster when the CMs told everyone in the room that we all got free YOMD Mickey Ears ! We were all very excited because they were made especially for YOMD and you couldn't buy them anywhere. I have mine in my room on a shelf :lovestruc

Are they still giving stuff away?
I recall before this you would get something here or there--which I chalked up to Disney customer service. So hopefully YOAMD hasnt changed that?

My dd had a magical moment on her 3rd bday ...she went to Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and got dressed up as Belle. She insisted on wearing the outfit 2 days. She pranced around with her dress on doing courtsies to various cast members. One said, have you had a magical message yet? We looked at each other like what is that? We were in Epcot in the shops in Mexico and he took her behind the register to where the phone was and called Goofy. She talked to Goofy and he sang her happy birthday and told her to have a magical time. She was on the phone for about 3-4 minutes and then the cast member gave her a certificate that said magical message to Giada on 9-11-09 by Kestone Clothiers...Your a star, may all your dreams come true, Zachary!
My daughter was soo surprised and I cried!

My wife and I spent a total of six weeks in the parks during the year of a million dreams (three weeks for our wedding and honeymoon and three weeks the following year) and not once did we get offered so much as a pair of ears :(
Some of out friends that came over for the wedding got the silver YOMD ears, but we reckon that the reason we got nothing was we looked like we were already having too much fun!

We were in DW in December 2007. While waiting in line for IASM, A CM approached my DD and stated talking to her. She asked her name, so my DD told her. Then she said, "Princess Emma, (I love when they call the girls that), is this your prince? (Referring to my son.) My DD said, "Ew NO!!! That's my brother!!!":rotfl:
I guess that didn't scare her away. She asked us to follow her and she took us out of line down to the control booth where they operate the ride. The kids were allowed in, as long as they didn't touch anything, and were announced over the loudspeaker as Guest Cruise Directors. They got to stand in the window and wave and tell everyone "Bon Voyage" as they left on their cruise. After a couple minutes, we were given certificates and taken to the front of the next cruise ship.
It really was something special. Nothing huge, but if you think about the thousands of people who come through those gates everyday, to recieve anything is "magical!!!"

I was in WDW December '08. I had gotten my customizable ears the previous day (the ones that are my avvie :) ) and I was going on the from AK I think to our hotel (the Poly). The bus driver noticed the little crown on the front of my ears and he said "Hello Princess" Then the announcement over the bus came "Ladies and Gentleman, there is a Disney Princess on board." It was AWESOME :)

We were just about to leave Hollywood Studios when a YOMD castmember came up to us and asked if we were able to do everything we wanted. My DD said she only got to go on Tower of Terror once so he said ok lets go on! He walked us over to Tower of Terror and gave us Fast Passes. My son did not want to go on again so the castmember took him to the giftshop to get to the photo viewing area. Once we had finished the ride he pointed out the photo and the castmember gave it to us for free!
We had see the castmember with a clipboard all day and we were always too busy for him to catch us so it was great to get the special treatment at the end of the day.

My family had many dream encounters in FL and CA, both groups were amazing and made so many unforgetable memories with prizes and random acts of kindness for my daughter. From what the former EPCOT Dreamers explained was the Dream Makers were dibanded at the end of 08 thanks to budget cuts. I hope they bring back something like that again this celebration theme hasn't really caught on with my family.

When my husband and I were a WDW in 2008, we were standing in line for RRC and overheard the couple behind us talking. We turned around to make friendly conversation and found out that they had been granted two YOMD wishes in a row. They both had Fast Pass cards for the entire park. They said that there was no way they could use them both and offered them to us! Now that is Disney Magic!! :wizard:

On our last full day at DW in December '08, my boyfriend and I were on the path back to the train from the Conservation Station in AK after stopping in to see what was on the schedule for the vet clinic. Ahead of us on the trail, some CMs were talking to a small group of people, so we were going to just go around them to get to the platform. The CMs stopped us and said we didn't want to pass them up today. They gave us Dream FPs for AK that day. We had planned on only hitting Everest and then going to the other parks for our favorite rides/food. I was pretty excited to get something on our last day there. We missed out on several YOMD moments by seconds the whole trip. We did all of the rides at AK in a little over an hour since we got there at park opening and ended up getting to the rest of the attractions on our list at the other parks with no problem. It made the trip that much more special.

In April 2008, I was at DCA going into It's Tough to be a Bug, and 2 CM's were giving out lanyards with a pass to stay after hours.
