What a great thread!!!! It has taken me about days to read it and it was well worth it. I'm so excited for all the winners. Some of the stories brought tears to my eyes.

We were there during Thanksgiving last year and didn't receive any wishes, but did see some special wishes for others. Not sure if they were part of the promotion or something that is normally done as this was our 1st ever visit to WDW.

We are currently planning our next trip for this coming November.

Hey does anybody know if you can do domething to have one of the dreams be fullfilled for you.......just wondering...........i will going down with my, wife, 2 children (ages 6 & 2) & my mother-in-law----september 14-23 and staying at the All Star resort:cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

As far as the official dreams, you just have to be in the right place at the right time! They are given away in a random, pre-designated fashion, so you just have to luck out and be on the right ride at the right time! Good luck and pixie dust to you! (oh yeah, you can also win via postcards, but there's a whole thread on that, too!)

I won the pin and lanyard set from the postcards....

I recently was at Disney but did not win it there.

I got a call on my cell phone from the central (since I'm Canadian I had to answer a math question) while I was at POR. hehe I had benn a bit desapointed since we were about to leave and I really wanted to win the ears. But hey.... I am pretty happy to get the pin and lanyard..

I haven' received it yet though....

I'll keep you posted

I really am looking forward to the YOAMD, but I have to say our last trip in Sept. 05 was magical in itself.

1st - My DH and DS were in the barber shop in MK getting a cut and mickey gel when King Louie surfaced outside the window. My DD was toying with him and then he came inside! The pic is in my sig. Then we stepped outside and ran into Baloo! http://C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle Johnson\My Documents\My Pictures\Disney Slideshow\100_0450.JPG

2nd - Went to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and my son was 1 of 4 called up on stage for the performance, the only child and he received a special picture and certificate for that!http://c/Documents%20and%20Settings/Michelle%20Johnson/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/Disney%20Slideshow/100_0678.JPG

3rd - On our last night we went to MNSSHP and my son was dressed as jack sparrow and while in the land of Pirates of the Carribean their were pirates strumming tunes and they allowed him to join and then gave him a special coin! http://C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle Johnson\My Documents\My Pictures\Disney Slideshow\100_0968.JPG

I have to say it is the CM's that can make it truly magical!!!

Oh, and I got a kiss on the cheek from stitch in AK:love:

This story happened before the year of a Million Years but I figure I would share it just because to the family that this happened to it was a sad moment but also a happy one as well. Last June I was working at the Celebration hospital which is a hospital that is owned and operated by Disney World and I remember all the comotion around this little 10 year old girl that they were bringing from MK, Once I started talking to the parents they let me knw that they had come to Walt Disney World to have a last family vacation with their little daughter bc she had terminal Cancer and did not have very long to life, at that time I was already in tears bc here was this little girl dressed like Cinderella that should be healthy and in the park but intead she was dying. Her father was talking to me about how dissapointed he was that she never got to see cinderella bc she started feeling sick before they could get to the castle for their lunch. So I got together with my supervisor and we called MK showtime which are the CM's in charge of the princess's and caracters we told them what was going on and in less than an hour a Disney van pulled up in front of the hospital and out comes Cinderella, I could not believe how fast they got here. I was so excited I will never forget the look on that little girl's face when see saw Cinderella in front of her, she was so happy! her parents were in tears and I'm sure that they will never forget disney for going out of their way to make his daughter happy. Cinderella sat by the little girl for about an hour til she told cinderella that she was really tired and that she wanted to go to bed, unfortunately later that day the little girl passed away, but her family were all smiling because they said that she died happy and that's why they choose to travel to Disney.

I love Walt Disney World because they truly make dreams come true.

That really puts a lot of things in perspective, instead of worrying about winning lanyards I hope that disney puts the money towards situations just like these. Great now I am boo hooing at my computer.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I really think that the Cinderella suite should be used for cases such as these once the year is over. It means I'll never stay there, but I couldn't imagine the look on a little ones face that she gets to sleep inside of the castle!

We won the lanyards with the 2 pins getting off Spaceship Earth during our trip a couple weeks ago. I was so excited.

They also informed us while we were there that they were originally planning the Year of a Million Dreams celebration for 18 months but are extending it for another year. It sounded to me like it will go through most of 2008. I'm not 100% certain of this, though.

While on the Keys to the Kingdom tour, we saw the family chosen to stay in the castle that night. It was awesome to see their expressions.

You've got me crying, too. I am a nurse and I work with cancer patients.....this story touches my heart. That was so sweet and thoughtful of Disney to make her little dream come true. Wow....how amazing for you to be able to experience that.

It's pretty amazing, it's something that I will never forget, after that day I knew that I was going to be a CM for as long as I live in the Disney area, I have just recently moved to Tampa Florida which is 45 minutes from Orlando but I only moved bc I could still work for Disney there in the Reservation Center, so when you guys call to book your trip you could be speaking to me:banana:

My boyfriend proposed to me last week when we were at Epcot. He knew I really wanted to get a picture with The Beast, Belle and Aurora. He talk to the cast member with Aurora and told her he was getting ready to propose to me and wanted to know if Aurora could come and pose with The Beast and Belle. She originially told him no, that they can't allow characters to pose like that. A few minutes later, she came back over and said since it was a special occasion, she was going to allow for Aurora to pose with Belle, The Beast and us. It was such a magical moment to have my boyfriend propose with some of my favorite characters watching, and I'm so grateful in that cast members help in making that moment even more special for us!

Wow what a wonderful husband you have, I wanted to cry when I saw your picture :0)

I was at DW last week. The whole trip was magical including a few dreams.

We used map quest for directions to POR...I have driven before, but usually from Tampa...this time we came straight from Dallas. When we were less than a mile away, my ds14 said there is no way we are near Disney...you couldn't see a thing...but then we saw Dopey Dr...lol. The directions took us to the cast member entrance. The lady at the gate was so nice...she said we were at the CM entrance and was nice as could be..talked to my little ones for a while and gave them stickers...no biggie...but it was a great magical start.

At MK one day, we were sitting and waiting for the parade when someone asked us to do a survey. He asked the age of my DH and I said that today he was 41, but Wednesday he would be 42...he asked his name and left. About 1/2 an hour later, he came back with a birthday button for DH.

One day while at MGM, DH and DD won dream fast passes on tower of terror. DD was soooo excited.

At AK, we went and rode the train and on the way back, DS7 had his birthday button on. CM at train depot told him happy birthday and then gave him the two tinkerbell pins. After that he let all 4 of my children blow the whistle on the train and gave them Magical Moments certificates. Later at AK, we went to see Mickey. Mickey conducted Happy Birthday song and had everyone in the line singing (I was in tears of course) and then when we were finished taking pictures, the dream team was there giving away lanyards...we got 6 of them.

3 of my kids also got magical moments certificates for playing tic tac toe with cm in store after Figment. We have been to DW several times and have never seen Figment and we finally got a picture with him...that is one of our favorite rides.

This one isn't so big...but we went for our priority seating at castle about 20 min early. They told us we wouldn't be called for at least 20 minutes so we went to ride carousel. When we got back, they had already called us. We missed sitting with our friends, but we got a seat right by the window and they were stuck by the wall on the side of the restaurant.

I'm sure there were more...but it was a very magical trip for all....DH is new to the family and Disney and he had a great time as well.

We just got back today....I'm bummed already! Our trip was great, and we definitely had some magical moments. We had dinner at the Garden Grill our first night there, and our waiter brought Tinkerbell pins for all 3 kids. The kids also got Mickey stickers from the CM at the stroller return at Epcot. The best was yesterday at AK! The whole family won Dream Fastpasses....it was awesome! I can't wait to go back.

Me and my son were getting off the train at MK and they handed everyone a dream magic hour wristband that was getting off- I asked if I could have an extra one for my wife (she was at work) and they gave it to me. This was today- we're going tonight! I just hope I can keep my son awake for that long because it starts at 11:00 pm :)

Do they charge at WDW for putting your name on Ears or other hats? It's free at Disneyland.
They do not charge at the hat shop in Magic Kingdom on Main Street.

This is a great thread, it reminds us of why we LOVE Disney and keep going back for more.
The best things happen when you don't expect them. I think we DIS members should challenge ourselves to find special moments on our trips and report back. It doesn't have to be from a CM, it could be another guest doing something nice, it could be a moment that you witness but aren't a part of. We have too much negativity on the boards at times and I think it would really help to balance it.

I think every time we have been to the World something special has happened. We even had a great report when we let my nephew and his family stay at our OKW home. Getting off the bus at OKW his daughter fell and skinned up her knee. Being a drama princess: she cried most of the way back to the villa. My nephew decided she did need a band aid and called the front desk for assistance. Within a few minutes there was a knock on the door. There stood a CM with not only a band aid, but also a Mickey balloon and a signed photo of the Fab Five.

Events like this happen numerous times a day at WDW and this was not even during TYOMD.

We just got back yesterday after a 10 day "graduation" trip! Saturday was our last day in the parks and we were picked as FAMILY OF THE DAY!!:cool1:  We were just standing at the rope drop and a CM came over to ask how many were in our party and then ASKED if we would like to be FAMILY OF THE DAY!! While I was screaming for my oldest daughter to join us (she had planned to go get fast passes for Test Track, while we rode Soaring) - my husband asked "what is it?" I gave him a look - like what does it matter!!!:rotfl:
We were let past the rope and given a special button to wear. The CM asked if we were going to be staying for the fireworks and when we told him yes, he wrote our name down to be in the "reserved area" of Italy to watch them!!! :woohoo: This was great as we always spend our last night watching EPCOTS fireworks!! Then all the characters came out and we got a photo with ALL of them at once Mickey, Minnie,Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale!! We got 2 fast passes to be used on any fast pass ride, and then the test track car came out and we got to ride in the car!!!
The plan was to ride over to TT and be the first to ride it - but of course it was broke down! The CM comes over and says - there has been a changed of plans - TT is down so we are going to take you over to Mission Space! My family said in unison NOOOOO!! (We did not like this ride in 2005!)After the surprise look left the CM face, he explained that was the only area the car could go in so it would have to go that way and "put us out". Well on the ride over, we decided to try the mild version of MS and it really wasn't that bad - but back to our dream come true adventure:wizard:.

When we arrived at MS, Linda was our "super greeter" and she led us through to the control room of MS!! We went through that door that is usually forbidden to us!! We were then led back to the ride - after we rode MS, Linda met us again and was apologizing that Test Track was down and reached in her bag and gave us MORE fast passes!! The day was great from there on - no lines for us, dinner at Garden Grill and a reserved spot to watch the fireworks! It was magical!:wizard: A great way to end our trip.:wizard: Full trip report (with photos! coming as soon as I finish the :laundy: :scared: )

Stories like this are the ones I love to tell people who dis disney. This was truly a bittersweet story, but every day people at WDW go that extra mile to make people's dreams come true.

We got back saturday from an 7 day trip. We met some friends down there. Unfortunitally my DH could only be with us on the weekend because he had to work during the week. The only pixie dust we recieved was that my DD10 won 2 pins from a CM for answering a couple of questions correctly. We still had a magical time. One of our friends got choosen to be in the Indiana Jones show. Now we are counting down to first week of December for the next trip. :cool1:

Honestly, how is Disney ever going to top this theme in years to come?!

Our "dream" happened as were heading into AK---a nice visitor asked us if we wanted his family's dream passes---uh, yeah! Headed directly to Expedition Everest---dream come true beginning of our day!
 Thanks, nice man!

When we were at WDW last November, my DD2 was approached outside of Goofy's barnstormer by a CM. I instantly was aware because she was bending down whispering to her... She then announced to the crowd that My daughter was the "Official cotton candy Taste Tester" of the day. She made a huge deal of it, had the crowd cheer & clap, had a ceremony on the spot that ended with my DD tasting and approving of the cotton candy. Afterwards, the CM gave her a certficate and the bag of cotton candy. We visited during a pretty slow time of year, and we really stood out; my DD2, owns and wore a different princess dress (Walmart $18) every day and my other DD14 broke her ankle a week before and was in a wheelchair... I think the combination got us a lot of extra attention from the CM's and characters, which really made for a magical trip. I'll have to ask my DD's about the other YOMD moments we had.... because my brain is mush! :headache:

Believe it or not our family has been fortunate enough to win three times:cool1: the first time was in the Animal Kingdom In the Tusker House, my daughter won a cup cake from Tinkerbell:goodvibes the second time was last May we were in the Magic Kingdom next to the teacups when a CM came up to us and ask if we wanted to have an unbirthday party. She then gave us a picture of Alice in Wonderland along with a certificate and took us to the head of the line, had us pick out the teacup we wanted to ride in, then she introduced us to the other guest :goodvibes The thirdtime was also last May we had just got off Big Thunder Mountain when we were stopped and handed silver and blue mouseears!!!!:cool1: This really made my daughters day:banana:

I didnt get an official dream while i was there, but on our last day, my friend and i were headed to EPCOT for the final park before we left the next day...There was a nice family on the monorail that had the dream ears on and we got to talking with them..the dad was a firefighter (my dad and brother are firefighters) --we told the kids we loved their hats and they were so sweet ...as we g ot off the monorail, the dad said they had actually won the hats twice so the four of them had 8 hats..he reached in his bag and gave my friend and i each a hat! then he said "i would love to do this for a "brother's" daughter"--it was so sweet and it really shows the firemen family!

Last October/November, I kept being given fast passes for random attractions. It was wonderful!

I am going with a group of friends next week, so we shall see. I am hoping for something special to happen to a friend of mine - she has never been, so it would be truly a surprise for her :)

We won YOAMD Mickey Mouse Ears leaving where you did for dinosaur bones in AK from the dream team!!!:cool1:

Our DD woke up the bears for the Country Bear Jamboree and was awarded a certificate and a fatspass for Splash Mountain (the really cool thing about that was the day that we used it the Fastpass machine wasnt working, it was HOT and the line had to be at least 2 hours long!) we walked right on it!!!

DD fell asleep in her stroller and I got comfy on a bench and DH was going to go on Space Mountain and as he walked up another guest said "Any single riders need a Fastpass?" He was a happy guy :thumbsup2

We were let on Nemo from a side entrance a few times when we were in that building seeking shelter from a downpour outside!

We won YOAMD EMH at MK on June 9th coming off Big Thunder Railroad. I started a thread about this.

DD also got a dream at MK on June 13th. We went to MK and dd wanted an ice cream. We stopped at the ice cream stand just next to TL speedway and the guy asked if she wanted to have a magical moment with him. He asked her to name 5 princesses and she did. She thought that was her magical moment but when we went to pay for the ice cream he said it was on him. That it was their magical moment.

We upgraded to annual passes because we are going to be there in March again. I'm hoping we can get an extra trip in before the year is up so who knows maybe we'll get lucky again.

We are also planning bringing some things like glow sticks and notes to pass out to add to the magic. This is a first for us, so to be able to have my sons wish granted is awesome,:yay: but to be able to go during YOAMD and possibly see others getting that extra touch of magic is REALLY exciting:woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

Quick trip report from MCO---My DF and his DW and DD just called to say that they had FOUR YOMD dreams happen this past week!!! 1st was DD(6) was selected to get up and announce the Little Mermaid show was about to start (she receive a YOMD certificate for this--and it was signed by Prince Eric and Ariel)! 2nd---DD(6) was asked to get up on stage at MGM's Playhouse Disney. 3rd was at Le Celier---DD told CM it was her dad's bday yesterday, which it was--and he was given a button, was sang to, and then a telephone was brought to his table and he was told he had a call---it was Goofy wishing him a Happy Bday! 4th was today leaving ASMo, a CM asked DD if she enjoyed seeing Mickey and Minnie and she said, she REALLY loved PTOC the BEST---in just a minute, the CM came running with a POTC shirt just for her...she is wearing it right now! HOW COOL---they sure received the royal treatment!!!! princess:

We seemed to do well with the YOMD. Of course, we were with a large group with 4 kids under 6.

1. We were taken to the front of the line at Splash Mountain. Three kids were laying on the ground and DH and his brother started joking with the CMs.

2. DD was asked to dress a felt board Tinkerbell in a shop at MGM. They gave her a certificate for doing it.

3. My DH helped a handicapped woman who dropped her cane. The woman and her husband had been given a special pin pair earlier in the day. One pin was to keep and the other was to give to someone you saw doing a good deed. The couple gave us the other pin.

4. My mother in law, sister in law, and kids were given fast pass cards for all of the rides in MGM on the day they were there.

I heard that the WDW events last 13 months from October to January, we hope to hit YOMD again in November 2007.

During our January 2007 trip, we got THREE "dreams" granted. First was at Epcot, where 3 of our party, including myself beat the cashier in Figment-Tac-Toe (yes, they even count this as a dream . . . I admit it, it's been my lifelong passion to be purposly lost to at tictactoe by a 50-year-old woman at Epcot). But hey, I'm not complaining, I still got a blue certificate. Our other dreams were much more magical. The first was a free Tinker Bell pin from another Guest (they were given two, one to keep and one to give).

The other (and perhaps most magical of all) was getting the honor to ride Cinderella's horse on the MK carrousel (it can be identified by the gold ribbon on its tail). The CM even announced us to the whole crowd and had a prosession for us and everything (although it did take him a while to finally locate that horse :rotfl2: )

***MAGIC SPOILERS AHEAD!!!***

Although this next one isn't an official "dream come true", the most magical part of the trip for me was seeing Mickey move his lips at the Castle Show! We were there on one of the first days of the usage of this new technology so I didn't know it was there, and it's truly amazing!!!

Although those are small dreams, it will still be nice to look back years from now and say I was an official winner/participant in the "Year of a Million Dreams" and even prove it with my honorary "beating-a-50-year-old-woman-in-tic-tac-toe" certificate. :rotfl:

Does anyone know how particular Disney is about the size of the postcards? I looked for a pack of them at Office Depot, and only found 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size. They are all white with blue trim. I've only mailed a few out so far, so I don't know if they'll work. I just CAN'T wait until September to be granted a DREAM...I want one now. :cloud9:

We were lucky enough to receive several things in the year of a million dreams. We were at the Animal kingdom (we are a family of 5 and traveled with another family of 5) and when we were eating at the counter service (I forget which one) they annouced we were the family of the hour and we got a free dessert. Again that night we were riding the tricertop ride over and over again while waiting for the husbands to return from everest and were deemed the family of the hour. The CM let all 8 of us play the whak-o-mole game for free and gave a prize to the winner. My 2 year old won a big dinosaur that he slept with all week!:goodvibes Then the CM let them play the game over and over again because she knew we were waiting for the husbands.
We experienced The year of a million dreams again at MGM. My 8 year old DS was watching my 2 year old DS (who was sleeping in the stroller) in front of the big hat, while I was in the hat working the pennie machines with my 6 year old DS (once again we were waiting for the husbands to return from a coaster):rolleyes1. When we returned to the stroller a CM came up to us and said some really nice things about the 8 year old DS and how she watched him check on the little one and fix the blanket so he was covered. She then gave him a special Tinkerbelle pin and one to share with a friend. I never thought an 8 year old boy would be so proud to have a Tinkerbelle pin but he was proud as a peacock:yay:

We just got back on Thursday! We won 2 significant dreams and lots of little ones. The first was after checking in at the magical express desk we were directed by the manager not to the bus line but to a LIMO!!!! Which took us directly to our resort.:wizard:

And at on the last day of our stay My daughter and I was visiting AK when we stopped 2 CM to trade pins and were asked to be in the daily Parade!!! It was son exciting for us since we were due to catch the 5pm Magical express back to the airport and the parade is a 4p. Needless to say we did make it back to the hotel in time but I thought it was a double bonus because I felt as though I was being celebrated being a single parent. It was a wonderful experience in all.

Because we (myself, my 2 children and niece) also won the limo ride to the resort!! We were all so very excited.:dance3:

When we were at the Kingdom last September (2006), we hit the Buzz Lightyear ride as soon as it opened - it was the family favorite with a four- and a one-year-old. In queue for the ride, we were taken aside by what we thought were security personnel! But no, we had won Dreampasses for the whole family, which you wear around your neck. They allow you on each of the listed rides one time with NO wait at all, you just cut right in. We almost felt badly (but just for a minute) as we strolled right onto our favorite rides instantly. It really was a Disney dream come true!

On June 1, 2007, my DH and I were walking through Downtown Disney around 11:00am.

Across from World of Disney, but in a slightly hidden pathway area near the tram drop off area, we saw a pair of CM's passing out dream ears. I was surprised that so many people were strolling along and didn't even see them! I excitedly began pulling my DH over to them (he hadn't seen them, either!).

We each were given a pair of dream ears, and we wore them for all four days that we were at the park. You should have seen how many people came up to us asking where we got the ears! Cast members congratulated us wherever we went. We're going back to the park tomorrow- and of course we're wearing our special ears.

Oh, and we were lucky enough to win dream fast passes the next morning at California Adventure (not far from Soarin'). It happened around 10:30am. We were walking from the special hotel entrance into DCA, and I noticed a lot of people walking past us with dream fast pass lanyards. I thought, "Wow, I would love to know where they got the passes!" Then I saw the CMs passing them out with about 10 people around them. I yelled to DH, "Dream Fast Passes!!!!" and ran to the CMs, leaving DH, my MIL, and FIL behind. They ran to catch up with me, and I told them to get a fast pass lanyard from the CM. They had no idea what the big deal was, so I had to explain why the dream fast pass was so great.

DH said that wearing the dream fast pass lanyard all day felt like having a VIP Access pass to a huge rock concert. It was awesome! :cool1:

November of 2006 we were on one of the first Star Tours flights, and as soon as everyone was seated a couple of cast members came in with duffle bags. I screamed before they even made the announcement. XD

According to the Official Rules on the WDW Website, YOAMD runs through December 31, 2007.

If I've read correctly, Dream FastPass basically gives you Fast Pass access to every FP ride in the park.

That's right. But the Dream Fast Pass badges only have one entry per FP ride, you can't go multiple times. Another words, once you ride each FP ride once, you can go back to using the "regular FP's" or get in the regular line. Still pretty awesome and I hope I get one!!! Please dream team.... :worship: pretty please?

We just returned from our 10 day trip. We saw so many people with Dream Fastpasses and Lanyards. My daughter, 12, was so hoping for something.

We boarded Star Tours during a slow time. There was definitely not a full vehicle. Then, this Disney CM with a white shirt and a black shoulder bag kept hanging around talking to the operator. Right before they shut the doors, they said they had a surprise. Then the CM pulled out a pile of Dream Ears from his bag!

Of course, everyone put them on and wore them for the ride. Everyone gave us strange looks when we got off. The ears are silver and the hat is light blue with the Dreams logo on it. They are definitely unique!

Later during the week, we saw other Disney CMs with black bags. One was giving out the lanyards to anyone who walked by and asked to trade pins with her. Of course, that was the day my daughter didn't take her pins to the parks!

We asked people with the Dream Fastpasses when they got them. Most of thsoe who received the Fastpasses got them early in the morning when they arrived at the parks.

We had a great time and gained 24 pounds altogether eating! We stayed at SSR wth annual passes. We ate at some awesome places.

I really had no idea what the Year of a Million dreams meant. But we had 3!

My DD6 was not only Jr. Chef of the day at Akerhus, they chose her to be filmed!! So if you see a commercial with a beautiful blonde missing 2 front teeth, with a cinderella dress and a white chefs hat.. thats my baby!

Both DDs got the Tinkerbelle pins from a lovely waitress at LeCellier, and also.......

We rode in the parade at AK!!! I was crying, it was so beautiful to see all those thousands of happy faces and people waving. There are no words for how amazing that was.

Aww all of you guys got very fortunate to get prizes! And congrats to you :) I know i'd be thrilled if when i went i won something. I went during April and we only saw the Dream team once. But they weren't giving out dreams that time they were just giving away some flyers of a firework event. Honestly i was kind of bummed out. (I'm 13 years old ;)) I went there with my hopes up. But i didn't have them so high for a reason. Are luck hasn't been so great lately. And it kind of stinks since we aren't going again this year. I've been mailing in postcards ever since March and i still haven't recieved anything. :sigh: Oh well... :( I still can't believe after so many people winning things. We also had some magical moments - kids got to wake up Tinkerbelle, Ds got to pull the sword out of the stone in Fantasyland, ds got picked to play Gaston in Belle's Fairytale Theatre, kids all got picked in Capt. Jack's pirate tutorial, in-laws got an upgrade from standard view to waterview at YC, dd got tinkerbelle pins for doing something nice for her sister! In January we were the Family of the Day at Liberty Tree Tavern and got to ring the bell to open the restaurant.

Last week, I got notice that I had a large envelope from Disney. It turned out to be a WDW YOAMD lanyard and pin set. Came back from getting the paper this morning to find a notice taped to the door that I had a parcel from Disney. Turned out to be Disneyland YOAMD Mouse Ears. So, I decided to buy more prepaid postcards. Guess this answers DW's question if you can win more than once.

Friends of ours were staying at DL Grand Californian 1 night for their anniversary. I called that morning to order a gift basket for them as a suprise. They called that evening to thank me for the gift basket and let me know they got a DREAM. They were upgraded to the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE. How sweet is that? We leave for DL in just a few days and are staying with our friends. Hope some of that luck rubs off for the days we visit the parks.

Hope some of that luck rubs off for the days we visit the parks.

that is really cool! That makes me wonder whether they will upgrade anyone to a different resort alltogether? (ie. Pop Century to Caribbean Beach) I haven't heard of that happening to anyone as part of the YOMD, but then again I never heard of anyone getting "upgraded" to a diff. room with YOMD either.
If this did happen to anyone I'd like to hear about it. :)

We just got back two days ago from 10 days in WDW!

I got the Tinkerbell pins for doing something nice for my sister.

We got to meet the chef when we went to Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

We were staying at the Pop Century, and on our fourth day, when we came back to the room, there was a bucket filled with stuff - two Pop Century livestrong type bracelets, Pop Rocks and lollypops (for Pop Century) and balloons.

AND...........best of all - We were the Grand Marshals in The Main Street Family Fun Day Parade on July 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one more thing I didn't mention ==== it was very empty on this past Sunday at Magic Kingdom, and we were getting on the Mad Tea Cups, and me, my sister, and my dad all had our own cups, and there was an empty one next to us, and right before the ride started, Alice and the Mad Hatter got on the Tea Cup RIGHT next tp us! the whole ride, they were having a tea party! it was so cool!!!!!!

My family was chosen to be the Family of the Day at Epcot on Friday April 13th. We got to have a family picture taken with all the characters (chip and dale, mickey, minnie, pluto and goofy). Then we got a special ride in the GM Test Track car. It picked us up in front of the fountain and drove us directly to the Test Track ride. We were able to ride the ride as much as we wanted to and then we were given special fast passes that allowed us to ride any ride we wanted in Epcot without a wait in line (these weren't dream fastpasses). I think it was our best Disney Vacation ever!

Cast Members pulled us off the ride upon exiting & We got to ride Tower of Terror again...my hubby, 3yo (who LOVES that ride and is RIGHT at 40 inches!), and myself. My son thought it was really cool...they took us up in a special elevator to the front of the line again, & presented him with a certificate when we got off the 2nd time!

DS4 and DS1 won certificates for being basketball stars in MGM, DS4 also got a certificate for picking up fruit outside Rockin Rollercoaster. And after just mentioning how I would LOVE to win the dream ears after seeing people at AK with them, we walked on Kilimanjaro Safaris and all won the ears!! On day 6 of our park days!!

2 days later we get home to find an orange slip in the mail for another pair of ears! This time from DL!!

And a guest spreading the magic, I was talking to a little boy before we got on Dumbo about his dream lanyard he had on and how I would love to win something cool like that. His dad pulled out his own lanyard and said Merry Christmas to me! I was so thankful!!

Back home and going out to buy more postcards tomorrow!

My niece (3) is OBSESSED with Mary Poppins, so when we saw the opportunity to meet her in Fantasyland, we jumped! Luckily, and I mean LUCKILY (I can't imagine the tears if we had been turned away...), we were the last guests let in line. To our surprise, a CM (on the dream team, we would find out) started asking her all kinds of questions. She was given a certificate and declared "Princess of the Day" (complete with special sticker). She was taken to the front of the carousel line, an announcement was made (lots of fuss :cutie: ), and she got to ride Cinderella's horse.

It was such a little thing but such a perfect dream for her. princess:

I don't know if my mom already posted this, but I will anyways.
Last January, we were in WDW for a day before driving to Tampa for my brother's wedding. In the morning, we went to AK to do Everest and such. We got off Everest the first time and the line was still wicked short, so we went on again. We got to the end of the ride, where you get off, and there were 2 extra CM's standing there. The regular CM said into the microphone: "How was your ride? Congratulations, everyone on this train is getting a pair of dream ears!!" My mom looked at me and was like, "Wait, what did she say?" And I sai, "Omigod, mom! WE'RE GETTING DREAM EARS!!" And then we started freaking out, because all day my mom had been saying how much she wanted a pair. We had tons of fun walking around the park and being complimented by CMs. And as if that weren't enough, we were in line for PW when we all got Dream Fastpasses! It had to be the best day ever.

Last week we were at AK waiting in line to see Lilo and Stitch, and I noticed a small group of people in an area off to the side of the main path where you can see some animals. I realized what was going on and my two daughters and I ran over there. The Dream team was handing out lanyards, and we were able to get a set. Then, on our last day, Sunday, my daughters and I were in the MK so they could ride Splash Mountain for the hundredth time, and I talked them into going to Thunder Mountain RR. As we were walking over, we spotted the DT walking up the path that leads to the exit of the ride. We followed them, but I realized they were going in to the exit, so we ran around to the front, rode the ride quickly, and received dream fast passes as we exited. We had a great trip! :cool1:  :cool1:

I don't know if this was an OFFICIAL dream, but to me it was.

My mom and I were shopping at Mickey's Mart and we picked up a few items and then picked up a graduation Mickey because I just graduated from Middle School. When we went to pay for it we found out it was green marked so you had to have 3 other items to buy that.

I went to go put it back and when I came back my mom told me,the cast member said to bring it back.

We thanked her so much for letting us get it.

When we got outside we checked the recipet and saw the lovely cast member did not charge us the money for the graduation mickey.

Thanks.:wizard:

Hi! I am not 100% sure if this was due to the "Year of a Million Dreams" or not. In May we booked a trip for the end of August/first week of September. It will be our FIRST EVER trip (hubby and I plus our 16 year old), staying at All Star Music Resort, 9 nights (7 nights initially), with the free Disney Dining plan. Shortly after booking our trip online (with Disney Travel) we received an email from Disney. We were given a FREE UPGRADE for our entire stay, from one room at All Star Music to a studio at Saratoga Springs Resort (complete with a mini kitchen with a fridge and microwave)! :thumbsup2 Initially we only had booked 7 days but after the free upgrade I ask if we could add more days and at what rate. We were able to add 2 more days at $92.00 each, to stay at SSR and including the DDP! WOW! :cool1: We are thrilled and anxiously awaiting the day we drive down (Ohio to Florida)! Hopefully we will win in the park but if not, we feel we have won already! :cloud9: WDW seems so magical anyway and it is a dream we have had (to be able to go) since our son was born so this family of 3 :dance3: is very happy!

We got a suprise pink iced cake at Liberty Tree Tavern in Oct '06. The CM's rang bells and said we were the family of the night and they were celebrating our Unbirthday.

On Sat, we got an upgrade from our standard view reservation at WL to a courtyard.

But the best I've witnessed....was yesterday. Coming off the Dinosaur ride in AK, a family behind us was awarded a trip to Spain ! Big wig disney CM's were there with a video camera.....the family didn't even seem too happy about it ? It was odd....the one disney CM said " so, are you excited ?" Heck....we would have been bouncing off the walls !

Love the unbirthday surprise and upgrade but I know I'd be in the minority in that I'd be kinda bummed about a trip to Spain :rotfl: I fear airtravel greatly and just to do the 3 hour trek by plane to Disney is about all I can handle :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I don't see myself ever going overseas if I can help it! :rotfl: :rotfl:

3rd time down during this celebration and nothing!

Other guests have passed prizes they weren't using to us but 'nothing' from WDW. Last week, we actually saw the prize patrol twice as well.

Add all disclaimers to this post and not going there with plan on winning anything but special night in suite, etc would be nice.

We were at LTT for dinner 10/10/06 and the family right next to us got the pink unbirthday cake. Do you remember the date you were there? That would be too funny. We were the Captain Hook, Wendy, Tink and Peter Pan family for the MNSSHP.

I can understand this kldmom2000. The funny thing was, the folks that won, were not American. Can't place the accent, but maybe Spain just wasn't a big deal to them ? I have a friend who's dd worked at WDW. She said there is a specific formula that disney has for choosing it's recipient winners. They choose a specific time/placement on ride/often certain color of clothing. I didn't know this and found it interesting.

Hi Tiggerrn2 ! I know the exact date---it was a Thursday and it was Oct 5. It was a great night for MNSSHP if anyone was there ----the crowds were not bad at all. It would have been neat if we were there the same night.

I think it's sad all those posters who complain because they didn't get anything. Come on...that's what makes it so special and exciting! So so many people walk through Disney gates daily, and it's such a random thing to win something. So to expect to win something, and by being let down you're showing that you do indeed expect to win something, you're taking the magic out of it for yourself!

We've visited Disney 5 times this year so far, & our 1 experience with YOMD was that they let us ride Tower of Terror again at the front of the line--but there was no waiting anyway in the lines! I was shocked to be picked from the exit line, & I never in a million years expected to win something, nor do I expect to win anything else when we return!

They've extended YOAMD for another year?! Oh my goodness that makes me so happy!!!

We went this past April for our Honeymoon and did not receive any "official" dreams either...but we were just as happy when we returned home!!

However, extending the theme for another year just gives us another shot to win a night in Cinderella's Castle!!!! ;)

We never been dreamed at disneyland but that is okay. With them extending it another year we plan on going back in November. If it's meant for us to get dreamed it will happen.

We just got a "dream" on Thursday, Aug 9th! It was exciting..... as we got into our seats on Expedition Everest at AK, I saw about 6 Dream Team members watching the trains as they pulled in after the ride. OHH, I told my family, it must be a BIG prize to have all those Dream Teamers. As we climbed in, to start our ride, I heard one tell the CMs operating the ride, that they would be "taking down" train #1. Were WE train #1? I had no idea. We rode the ride, and when we pulled towards the station, my husband yelled, they are still there! Our train pulled in, and they said over the loudspeaker, welcome back, and you have all won the Animal Kingdom Fast Passes ! (well, ok , it was NOT a big prize, lol!) But, it was really cool that the ENTIRE train won! (we had 2 kid sin wheelchairs, and did not even need the Fast passes, but we still loved winning!) We have them as souveniers. The lines on things like Kali that day were 70 minutes, same for Everest, so they were a great prize for most families. (It was 98 degrees) It was early, about 9:40 am, our first ride of the day.

It's little surprises that make a Disney trip so special. I think that CM's have long been able to do little things like that for guests. It's good business, someone who has been given a little pixie dust, a free monogram or a free dessert, is likely to spend more than someone who hasn't. They're going to remember that moment, and want to come back again. Disney will end up making that $2.00 back and more.
You also never forget that little moment. We went to Tony's one night for dinner with my niece and our waiter was so cute with her. He referred to her as "The Princess" which is what I've called her since she was born. She loved the extra attention he paid to her and we made sure to speak to the manager about him before we left. A YEAR LATER, we go back to Tony's for dinner and he's still there! When he sees her, he says "Ah, The Princess has come back to visit again!" I could not believe he remembered! That exchange cost Disney nothing, but it sure brought us back again and we never forgot it.

I am speaking as a former customer service rep, but I know how much weight management gives to people who take the time to write in. If you experienced superb service, ask for their name AND their bosses name. Then write a letter explaining WHY their level of service exceeded your expectations. (no 4 pagers needed, but explain how they went out of the way more than an IHOP waitress might have. The fact that that cm remembered your daughter is incredible considering the # of guests he must have seen in-between. Next time, get his name and send a letter to his boss thanking them for such a wonderful employee! his yearly raise and your likelyhood of seeing him again will increase significantly as a result of your customer appreciation!

However.........today........I received a certified letter slip in my mailbox from Walt Disney!!! :cheer2: :yay: Of course me and my excited self drove to the post office the second that I got the slip. :rotfl: At the post office, they told me that my mail carrier wouldn't return until after 3 p.m.........so now I'm stuck here at home, waiting until she gets back!! How exciting for you! I hope your trip is wonderful! I'm 40, but I remember watching Wonderful World every Sunday night too!
To ensure a happy trip, don't try to do EVERYTHING together as a group. Schedule some time apart and let everyone know it is ok to do their own thing at least once a day & you can meet up later. My parents took a 19 year old, three twenty somethings & themselves back in 1990 & we almost killed each other because my father insisted we do everything together. It was too much togetherness...we went in April and I think it was probably Christmas before we all wanted to be in the same place again.

I leave in 1.5 days & it is the first trip there since the 1990 trip! My 8 year old is bouncing off the walls & I am too!

WOW!! We were in the MK on Tuesday the 14th of August, when we had been running around the WORLD since Saturday and we were POOPED!! My DM decided that she couldnt walk (or didnt want to) to the front of the park from the back, but wanted to take the scenic route and take the train. Reluctantly we did (I am a fast mover, dont like the slow boats or the train) Anyway....THANK GOD WE DID!! When we got off of the train and were walking down the walkway, there she was:banana: waiting for us and asked us how our day was (it was a Dream Team Member) she said today was our lucky day and that we had all just won Dream Fast Passes, well didnt that just make our Vacation!! Here we were complaining because we had to take the train....and we ended up thanking my DM over and over because if it wasnt for her...and wanting to take the train ride....we wouldnt have won!! I came home on Friday to find out that our postman had left two boxes with my husband. He and my DS6 each won Dream Ears!:cool1: We have only been mailing postcards sporadically lately so I was really surprised to win. I think its because DH mailed a set from NY when he was there on business last month. Otherwise, they would have come from OH. Still hoping to win the lanyard set. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you all. They extended the YOMD to YOMDx2 because they just couldn't catch me in the right place at the right time to award me the DVC prize. Its "ear"marked for me, don't cha know.:rotfl:

Sorry, this will be kind of long.

On the first full day of our vacation, Aug 6, we were going to EPCOT. I was very excited, having never been to that park before. Unsure of the reliability of the Disney buses, I woke everyone early. We ended up at EPCOT a full 50 mins before it opened. While waiting, I was getting "looks" from my family. You know, thanks a lot Mom, we could have SLEPT LONGER.

They let us through the turnstile, and we walked right up to the rope near the ball. The Dream Squad approached and asked us to come under the rope. It was great fun. We had pictures with the whole gang of characters and we got to ride in a Test Track car to the ride. Then we got to ride it twice before anyone else. We also got a special character "Meet and Greet" ticket, plus a pile of fast passes. We also got to watch Illuminations from a special VIP location. My daughter even said, I am so glad you got us here early!

Really weird coincidence, is that we went back to EPCOT on Saturday & they approached us again. This time, I told them we had done it earlier, and they should "spread the magic" to another family. (My son was mad at me, but oh well). To reward me for my honesty, they gave us a bunch more fastpasses. We waited in NO LINES at EPCOT.

We had such a great vacation & that was the icing on the cake!

Sue - That is so awesome:cool1: :cool1: And how very nice of you to tell them to let another family do it - nice way to spread the magic! I bet they wouldn't get a lot of people doing that - I'm glad they rewarded you for it!

pirate: I was there August 9-15th with my daughters and my mother. My Mom got free drinks one time for us all and a complete stranger gave us fast passes for the jungle cruise one night. But the best part for me was during the Pirate & Princess Party I got a kiss from Jack Sparrow himself! I think that I can die a happy woman now LOL pirate:

We arrived at MCO on August 16th, and when we went to check in at Magical Express, they told me that we won a Limo Ride to our hotel! It was great! The limo was out there waiting, so we didnt have to wait in the ME line, plus we got to our hotel that much quicker!

All of these stories are so uplifiting...it's making my family and I SO excited to go!

I have a question for you all though...we are planning on going to the CS resort in June of '08. Do you know if this celebration is being extended due to the popularity of it all? It would be great to meet some of the friendly CMs who are so willing to give up their time to talk to families. Thanks! Have a magical day! :wizard:

We just returned from a ten day trip to disney. We recieved several dreams. My DD's and their friend got to demonstrate the hand jive to everyone in the Lion King show. Then my DH and Youngest DD recieved dreams ears on Soarin'. But our last full day was the best. We got chosen to help open the park and we recieved dream fastpasses later the same morning. My youngest daughter got to be captqain on the jungle cruise. At last, my daughters got to be a hedgehog feeder and a porcupine trainer at the Animal Kingdom! We had a great time.:cloud9:

wow, y'all got a lot! The hand jive is something they must do all the time not for dreams (not that it makes it any less cool!) cause they called me up last year and I'm not a kid...I'm 25! :rotfl: I started to do the hand jive in my seat when they first mentioned it, and they called me out on it! :goodvibes

Darn. Oh well sounds like you had fun, though. It was just when I was reading your story it was instant reaction that I wondered if the girls we saw doing the jive were your girls.

Unfortunately, we weren't granted any Dreams, nor did I ever see the Dream Team. I think chances are probably better when the crowds are lower. But I'm still sending in my postcards, hoping for a win there.

Last October we received some very special moments...

We went for lunch at the Royal Table in the Castle and when we were finished we got up to leave and Cinderella came upstairs to visit for a minute was on her way back down and she got into the elevator. The doors were shutting on the elevator and we were heading towards the stairs and she put her hand in the door and they opened back up and she said "would some little princesses like to ride with me in the elevator?"... My girls were so excited. I was a little embarrased because my little one had a dirty diaper and boy did it stink up the elevator. My mom crammed in with us and was taking pictures of us all in the elevator with Cinderella.

At the MNNSHP we were in line to see Woody and then the CM said that Woody was moving inside due to rain and he would be ready in a few minutes. We were next in line and Woody shook his head and grabbed my daughters hand and jestured for my family to follow him. We were alone with Woody inside for a while taking pictures and getting autographs.

On the boat from POR to POFQ we were the only one on the boat and the captain asked my daughter (5) if she would like to drive the boat. She was sooo excited. She couldn't even see over the controls. He gave her a co-pilot pin. He was so nice to us.

On our last day my daughter had her 1st Visit pin on and the CM in the gift shop at the hotel gave her some Mickey stickers and commented on her pin.

We had some really special moments that were aside from the year of a million dreams. We didn't win any official dreams but I think the experiences we had were better than material things like ears or a lanyard.(although I would have loved to ave won those!)princess:

I was so excited about the Year of A Million Dreams, but have a horrible record of being a loser. :confused3 I have been to Disneyland once, and WDW three trips and never won any dreams. Almost a Dream fast pass at Everest in May, but missed it by a few people.

But was I so lucky and happy, because it was on my fifth trip to a Disney Park during YOM that I finally won something! On Saturday August 25, I was in Innoventions East, when around 10:40 am, the Dream Team started to distribute Dream Fast Passes to anyone walking by the House of Innoventions area. I was soooo excited! :cool1: It was so sad to never win, so it is a great feeling after so many trips to finally be at the right place at the right time. I almost won dream ears on Star Tours and Dream Fast Passes at Animation in the Studios the next day, but I only left Florida with the Epcot Dream Fast Pass. But I am happy. I only needed to win once to learn to like YOM.
So if you don't win, don't feel bad. Most people don't win. Dreams still come true at Disney World.:wizard:

We were in Disney 8/14-22. I was hoping to see the dream team while on the trip, and luckily we were awarded with YOAMD lanyards and pins! I know it is the most common one to win (according to the prize chart, there will be about 500,000 given away), but I was so thrilled. It happened on our first morning in MK. We were getting off of Winnie the Pooh and there was a team at the exit. A team member said something to the couple in front of us, but did not say anything to us. As I walked by, I said, "Oh, I guess we just missed it," and she said, "No, your dream is right ahead!" I went on this trip hoping to have a chance to see the dream team...I never expected to actually win...it never happens to me! They even included our 10 moth old DS as a winner. We saw the team often that week...I saw a girl win a private visit with Cinderella after getting off of Snow White and others become "lost boys" after getting off of Peter Pan. I also saw many dream fastpasses. One family said they won theirs after getting off of the riverboat.

It was our best trip yet! regardless of the lanyards, I would say that the CM's were extra happy (if that is possible!) We had NO RAIN the entire week and the heat was bearable for August. The trip itself was a dream and I can't wait to get back!

My brother and sister-in-law arrived on 8/30 at Disney. They have 3 kids. Oldest son is ten, a daughter 8 and their youngest son is five. This is their first time staying on site. They are at fw in a cabin. They called when they checked in and my niece was a little sad their was no towel animals in the cabin. So me being the aunt that hates to hear about them be sad called the hotel and explained to the cm the story and asked if she could as mousekeeping to leave one. Well at 9:30 last night my niece called to let me know that while they out at the camp fire some filled their room with towel animals, books, and other goodies. My brother said that the only other dream she had to come true for her would be me coming on rides with her.but she knows she will have to wait for their next trip. Little does she know auntie is going to meet her at the castle Sunday morning. So I guess dreams do really come true at disney

We just got back tonight.

We were in AK on tuesday Aug 27th. We did breakfast at Donalds, and we were walking past Triceretop Spin. I saw the Dream Team standing there, so I made the kids go on the ride (though we were rushing to get FP for EE). Well, as they got on the ride, they won Dream FastPasses!!!
When they got off the ride, the Dream Team gave me and DH them too, so we could go with them.
We were so excited!!!!

So it gave us fastpasses for EE, ITTBABug, KilSafari, Primeval Whirl, Kali, and Dinosaur.
It was so great!! We were so excited! So of course, we kept looking for them everywhere after that, but never saw them again!

We had arrived before the rest of our party to the all-star sports around lunch time. It was rather empty in the food court and we were hungry, so we went to go and eat. After we sat down a CM came up to my son 4, at the time, and began just talking with him. He then asked if he would like to be the special chef of the day. We of course said yes. They put a paper chef's hat on him and rolled out a cart in the middle of the food cart and announced the chef of the day. On the cart was large choc. chip cookies, ice cream and about every topping you could imagine (m&m's, choc. chips, gummy bears , sprinkles...etc). He proceeded to make the largest, messiest most disgusting looking concoction you have ever seen. BTW it was delecious, we all ate the sundae and were so excited for the rest of our vacation. What a magical start to the vacation

Ok update I had posted about how I called FW to have towel animals put in my brothers cabin for the kids.My dn was so happy but told my brother now all she needed was her auntie to go on rides with her. Well DH and I flew in for along weekend trip. Sunday we planned on surpiseing the kids at the castle. The youngerst one I think can smell DH because he keep telling his dad I bet uncle John is here. luckly my niece never heard him. So when they where at the castle I walked up behind her and tapped her on the arm the why I alsways do. I then stepped to the side and she told the CM we enlisted to help with a sad face I thought you where my auntie, she is the only one who knows how to do that secert tap. The CM told her that she learned it from someone and asked her if she wolud like to meet the person her taught her. My neice ask mom and dad if she could meet this person and when they said yes they all walked over to us. My neice cried for 10 minutes she was so thrilled to see me. So.....I've been sending off 6 postcards a week since February (except on the UK bank holiday days...) in the hope that I'll win something....even my DD and DBF have been sending them in for the last few months. I hadn't won anything till....

THIS MORNING!!

I opened the door to the postman to receive a parcel and the return address was the Dream Squad in WDW!! I HAD MY DREAM EARS at last!!! Been a little hyper active all day....you'd think I'd won the castle stay lol!! I'm just so happy!! Can't wait to take them to WDW in Dec 08 on our next trip to get my name put on them!!

We went last November (2006) and from my experience, they really do such a great job at making sure EVERYONE has a great time at WDW. Whether you win or witness someone win, you are always having a blast. They sure do put the spotlight on people who win which is great for those who do. But I never once felt left out of the celebration!

We went in the control tower of Space Mountain and my daughter was shown how everything works. Then we went to the front of the line to ride. So many great things happened and it added up to a factastic trip.

Just returned from a trip to WDW. We were there from 9/4 to 9/8. We saw the Dream Squad on several occasions. We were awarded dream lanyards/pins off Mt. Everest on Thursday morning. Yeah! We saw lots of dream passes, lanyards and a few ears throughout the parks. We saw more on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and fewer on Friday in MK.

OMG, my daughters received dream lanyards too coming off Mt. Everest on Thursday morning. You must have been on the same train as them! I usually ride with them, but that morning I had a bit of a headache so I opted not to ride.

Some of the other things they won were: They were Chef of the Day at Donald's Breakfastosaurous, the dream lanyards I mentioned above, they were each given a Tinkerbell pin and we were all given dream fast passes after riding Space Mountain on Saturday morning:)

We went back in January 07 and were sitting on the bench with goofy on main street. A dream maker came up to us and gave us one on one time with Cinderella. We met in the old camera shop at the main entrance and had about 20 minutes with her. The kids were just awstruck to be stand there with her. She acted the part very very well and gave autographs and did dozens of pictures. A very cool gift!

We were at EPCOT the end of June -- a spur-of-the-moment stop while driving back home from my parents house in Georgia. I din't even know about this new campaign until we were in line for Soarin' and a Disney employee gave everyone in line a pair of "Year of A Million Dreams" mouse ears! W were really surprised and pleased, especially since we told the kids "no souviniers" because this was an unplanned one-day trip! The kids love their ears and can't wait to bring them back for our October trip! :earsboy:

So the YOMD is still going on right now... how long is it running til?

Are prizes given out daily?

How often are the larger prizes, such as the castle stay, given out? (Daily?)
Plus I always assumed that prizes such as the castle would only be given out in MK since the "prize" is in MK - but one lucky winner just reported winning it from riding Star Tours in the studios! That surprised me! How many other prizes are given out in one park but are intended for another?

Just curious!! Thanks!! popcorn::

My husband and I are frequent travelers to Walt Disney World. We live only 3 hours away and have the Seasonal Pass. It's a big joke every time we go that I yell "We're going to be winners today!!!! I can feel it!!" We just returned this last weekend from Disney. We took some friends who had never been. Our first stop was MGM. My husband and Nick rode "Tower of Terror" while I waited at the end with Tamara. (I am pregnant and can't ride the fun rides!) While I was sitting with Tamara, I saw a family who were wearing the "MGM Dream Fast Pass" necklaces. I explained how that was part of Disney's Year of a Million Dreams. All of a sudden my husband and Nick came running to us yelling they had won!! They had won the "MGM Dream Fast Pass" also and the Disney Cast Member even gave them two extra for the wives. I was so excited, due to the fact that we come at least once a month and had never won before. I called all of my friends and they were so jealous!!
Well, we proceeded to Indiana Jones to use our Fast Pass and when we got there, we were told we would have to wait in the regular line because they were not using the Fast Pass that day. We waited, but when we got to the front, they closed the line because they were full. Then we decided to walk over to the Stunt Show, which is one of our favs, and the same thing happened there. We had to wait FOREVER in line with our "FAKE" Dream Fast Pass. After that ride, we found out that all six rides listed on our necklace were not using Fast Passes that day. We tried to call Disney and tell them how crappy that was, but they just told us to see Guest Relations before we left MGM. When we went there, they told us there was nothing they could do that they weren't in charge of the "Year of a Million Dreams", that they are just told to hand out the necklaces daily. Of course, I told everyone and I even told several Disney Cast Members at Epcot who couldn't believe it. One cast member on "Soarin" let us choose our line because she felt bad for us. If MGM knew that they weren't going to be using the Fast Passes that day, they should have never passed out the necklaces. My dreams didn’t come true!!!

May I suggest that perhaps you contact WDW Guest Communications at wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com about this? While they probably cannot do anything about it, they can and probably will forward the information to someone higher up in the company especially when you are complaining about Disney misrepresenting themselves. Might not do much, but, perhaps it can help keep it from reoccurring.

Enjoy the Magic!

DH, DS2 and I received 3 YOAMD Mickey ears coming off the train to the entrance of MK on Sunday morning. It was great!

I didn't see many CMs around over the past 5 days and just saw a few people with AK Dream Fastpasses.

I was at home before work and the door bell rang. I opened the door to the postal lady who had 2 forms for me to sign. I asked her for what and she said a package. I was befuddled since I hadn't ordered anything, anyway it was from WDW. I was so excited and she was laughing at me. She stayed while I opened the box. Inside were a set of the YOMD ears. I was so EXCITED! She was laughing at me and offered to take my picture. I passed on that at the moment.

This is the second time I won something this week. The other was a local thing.

We just got back after 6 days in the parks and never saw anyone receive dreams. We did talk to a lot of dream team members and they truely loved their jobs. On the last day we were their, my girls were playing with the Mr. Potato Heads and were chosen to make the Display Potato Heads for the day. It was just enough of a dream that they felt very special.

Hi! We returned recently from a 10 day WDW trip (our very first trip). On our 7th day at the parks (we were in MK this day) they rode Splash Mountain (due to mobility issues I could not ride with them). Upon exiting they were handed Dream Fastpasses! :cool1: They were soooooo thrilled! They refused to use them however and we have a really neat set of souveniers that are dated (the date is imprinted on them and good for one day only)! We seen a few people with the special lanyards, a few with special ears, and a few Dream Fastpasses... but not nearly as many as I had expected and no BIG dreams presented either. For us... just going was an dream come true:dance3: so we were thrilled!

Last week I won my second set of ears, have also won a lanyard/pin set in the mail. Mine are all from Disneyland. I'd love something from Disney World. Going to be there Dec 31-Jan 4, so happy to hear that they have extended YOAMD!

This happened a few years back (1998 to be exact), but it is worth mentioning none the less. At that time my grandmother was 85. She was this little old woman (barely 4'5" standing) with snow white hair and although she could walk we stuck her in a wheel chair anyway. Over the course of the trip the family rarely had to push the chair since a character was always doing it! This was in a time when the characters wandered the park freely with no CM escorts. We kept Pluto for over an hour, just pushing my grandmother all through MK and sitting with her when we went on rides that she couldn't go on. She died at 92 and spoke of the trip right up till the end.
That is really a trip I will never forget all thanks to the way the characters treated my grandmother!

Just back yesterday. We were there four days and I did not see the Dream Squad at all either. I did see a few people with dream fast passes and a couple of pairs of ears. The first week of this month I definitely saw more and did see the Dream Squad several times. Maybe we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The first week of this month I definitely saw more and did see the Dream Squad several times. Maybe we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Came back on Monday. We saw the Dream squad lots!!!! This is my 3rd time there during this promotion and we did not win anything until this trip (not that I expected too) On 9/20 we just missed dream fast passes in AK coming off of EE. But then on 9/21 we won Dream FP for EP. At the game in the end of MS. WE were sooo happy even though the wait times were short last week. Then on our last day we had plans on doing MK early then going to EP to see off kilter....Well we enter and go to the rope near buzz a dream squad member starts talking to us. DH and I had on our anniversary buttons and me and my friend had on our crowns. She asked if we have met any royalty this trip...we said no <sigh> She asks if we would like to have a PRIVATE meet and greet with cinderella!!!!!!!!! We say yes of course and jump up and down. So we set that all up get FP see some stuff...call Nephew who works at MK and tell him what happened he laughed we meet him for a little...do some more rides....go to Pinocchio villiage house for lunch get there early to beat the crowd and get Small World seats ...we wanted to wave. We are eating and a cm comes up and starts talking to us....a very nice older man named Fred..... We chatted with him for a while then he asked us TO BE GRAND MARSHALS AT THE 3pm PARADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg yes yes yes Fred of course we will....We say I guess we are not going to EP <DIES> We call nephew again and ask him if he has video on his phone...he does but had arrived at work at 5AM and did not think he was going to make it ....he laughed again....it was sooooo much fun we got Mickey ears with our names on them and a free photopass 5x7 ...I waved until my arm fell of and smiled until my cheeks hurt. Here is us with Fred before the parade

Wife and I went down for Night Of Joy in Sept, and while walking around AK, the Dream Team gave up Dream Fast Passes. We had already waited in line for the safari that morning, but that allowed us to go do everything else (and the safari AGAIN) in much less time than we had planned. AWESOME!!! :)

We won Dream Fastpasses at Mission Space on 10/2 which is DH's and DD's b-day! Since it was just me and older DD going on the ride they were so nice and still gave us 2 extra fast passes for younger DD and DH. We kept one intact for the scrapbook. :goodvibes

Lots of other little 'wishes' though....

Happy Birthday certificates and First Visit certificates

younger DD and I were scooted through the back entrance to get right onto the Indy Speedway (mostly because she looked so pitiful about the castmember not having a princess pin to trade! LOL)

older DD was given a cast members only hidden mickey pin

the 2 girls got to play a mickey matching game and got certificates for that

the castmember at CRT got Dh a certificate with Cinderalla's autograph on it for his b-day since we were only doing younger DD's b-day there. She was impressed that we were actually giving DD her own special day even though they share b-days. I guess a lot of guests want all the b-days celebrated so no one really gets a special day.

I think that's it. I really wanted the ears and started seeing them the last few days we were there but no luck on that. We did see the dream team at the exit for Star Tours but it wasn't the right time yet. I think they were doing fast passes since one of the guys was asking the others if they had all their fast passes ready.

Still it was completely awesome to get them with DH's and DD's b-day on them. My older DD was beyond excited! :thumbsup2

On Wednesday, 10/3, we were exiting the Haunted Mansion and we won lanyards w/ 2 pins! What's funny is that we've been to Disney 5 times since YOAMD started, sent in postcards, never won anything, and this was the first trip that I wasn't even THINKING about winning. What's also funny is that I was trying to convince my dh and 4yo to go on Small World on our way to the HM because everyone walking out of there had cloud ears and I thought we might get them. My daughter LOVED the lanyard and we bought her a Tinker Bell pin and she got to add 5 pins we had at home that I had purchased for her on a few of our other trips(including her "my first trip" pin from when she was 15 months old:cloud9: )

Winning was so much fun!

Our 1st trip was 8/07- DSs picked to be Jr. Directors of Indiana Jones, DS 10 was picked to lead the 'lion roar' in Festival of the Lion King. DSs 10 & 5 were picked to be one of the leaders in the dance @ Festival-LK, DSs 5 & 3 received YoMD pins (started us on pin trading-thank you very little ;) ) & DS 5 was picked for the Pirate Tutorial. All in all I'd say a pretty good 1st trip for us:).

My DD11 and I had our very first trip Memorial Week. We were both given a set of lanyards and pins when entering The Muppet 4 - D show which I loved! DD11 loves Tink and she and/or I wore some type of Tink item every day (shirt, hat, pins, etc.) and we were decked out with Tink stuff in MK sitting having a Mickey ice cream bar. An outdoor shop keeper near the Shooting gallery and a security guard started speaking with us and the security guard asked DD11 if she realllyyyy loved Tink noticing our apparel and she said Yes, I love All things Tink. He pulled off his cap and gave her the Tink pins he had hiding in there to give. He said she was to keep one and give the other one away.

She had a bit of a stomache ache on the day we were to do lunch at CP so we called and changed our res to a breakfast on the day we were leaving. We got one of the first res at 8:10 and were due to leave on the ME bus at 12:15 and still had to finish up packing a few things. As we were exiting the MK, I showed her a group of CM's that were all wearing pins and told her to go see if there was any last pin she may want to trade for. As she was perusing the CM's lanyards, I chatted up what I assumed to be upper management as they were in business suit type attire. The lady CM asked us how everything was going and I told her it was our first trip and we were heading out to go back home. :sad2: She handed us two fastpasses and said Here, go ride anything you want. These are for any ride. :wizard: And of course DD11 said Mom, you loved SM, let's go ride one last time. (I did not know of the train the entire week we were there!!!) I didn't want to walk ALL the way to the back of the park and we were pushing for time. She explained we could take the train and be back in half an hour. Well we did, how could I refuse my DD11 with her pouty lips as CM's were encouraging us to go for one last ride! :confused3 When we got there however, no line and we went right on the ride. So upon exiting, I found a dad with a son and passed the tickets along to him as we sadly exiting the MK for the last time.

We had a very magical time for our first visit and while I originally thought it would be a long time before we were able to go back, I am doing whatever it takes for us to make it back again this May when we are out of school. I'm a teacher. And I have apparently become obsessed with WDW. I have always loved Disney but since my visit, I can't stop planning all the details of our next trip. :woohoo:

My cousin and his youngest son and myself and my oldest son were loaded into the ToT elevator when I noticed a dream team member. I leaned over to my cousin and told him someone in the elevator was going to win something. Well, lo and behold, we all received the YOMD mickey ear hats. The boys were so excited! My and cousin and I gave our hats to our sons who weren't riding with us so all four boys were very excited. :cloud9:

officially received our dreams (lanyards) on 18 october at the "where's the fire" game in Epcot Innoventions West. the DF was headed out when a couple of dream team members were spotted outside the hall. i greeted them, asking how their day was going ("magical" was the response!), they then asked if we had been through the "where's the fire" game yet? we were headed to the sea, but one of the members was really insistent that would enjoy the game... really! hint taken. they also sang happy birthday to my dd!!!

not really dreams, but equally great that day. a CM at the Test Track exit shared our dd's bday, so we got a VIP pass for the ride. the pass allowed us to go upstairs where normally only GM employees are allowed to view a "behind-the-scenes" look of the ride, free soda/coffee, private bathrooms (well, private to anyone up in the offices) and a great view of the Future World area of Epcot. we then were able to receive walk-right-up privileges for the ride. really cool!!!

later that evening, we were able to enjoy VIP seating for the last Little Richard show. this was the thing our dd wanted to do more than anything else during our vacation in the world.

all in all, a truly magical bday for dd!!!

We've already won two YOMD Mickey-Ears and a lanyard...it's probably another lanyard - at least I hope it is so my DH can have a lanyard of his own. I've given the ears to my kids and they both have lanyards (not yomd) already. So I'm keeping my lanyard (DS - bless his little heart - thought my YOMD lanyard looked a little bare with only the two YOMD pins on it so he gave me one of his!). Hopefully this is also a lanyard so DH can have one when we go in Dec.

I got a little excited when I looked at the notice because the letter carrier had originally checked "letter" instead of "parcel". Letter would DEFINITELY have been nice, as it would have meant a really big prize. But I'd be happy with a lanyard, too.

If it is something different, I'll let ya'll know.

We just got back from a whirlwind weekend. Dh and I took a 4 day 3 night to WDW without our children. This was our first ever vacation without our 3 sons and it turned out to be sprinkled with pixie dust and full of magic.

Thursday night we did the MNSSHP. We decided to collect autographs from the characters that we had not seen on our 23 day trip last summer. Late in the evening we went to see Tarzan, Jane and King Louie. I knew that King Louie cannot sign autographs, but I had made him a customized autograph page to put in our autograph scrapbook with his picture. There was not a line at that time. King Louie was so excited to see this page that he got on the floor and indicated that he wanted me to put a pen between his fingers. I had a little difficulty in figuring out exactly how he wanted it, but his handler helped and he cafefully signed his autograph page. DH took lots of pictures of this and I was totally in shock. This must be very rare and since we are avid autograph collectors it was a great way to end our first day

Day 2 was an Disney MGM Studios day. We were there for park opening, but since we had now spent 24 days in the parks without an "official dream" being won we didn't have any expectations. As we were walking out of Tower of Terror we bumped into a Dream Team member that we had talked with extensively on our previous trip. She had been assigned to chat with the park guests on the day that we met her and she had spent about 45 minutes telling us amazing stories of dreams that she had been lucky enough to award and things that she had seen. We also talked about New England as we were both from there. Anyway we bumped into her and she recognized us as we also recognized her. She was on her way to find a family that was opening the Beauty and Beast show and didn't have time to chat, but told us to find her later and told us the area that she was assigned to for the day. We walked away and decided to hit One Man's Dream as we had never been able to spend much time there on visits with our kids. Turns out we were having a very lucky day as the Dream Team was handing out Dream Fastpasses. We were so excited and DH hugged the poor girl that was handing them out :rotfl: I was so excited that I was literally shaking. Honestly we weren't planning on doing much that day as we planned to take an afternoon break before heading back for Fantasmic, but it didn't matter as we had won a dream :cool1:

After winning the fastpasses there was no way that we could concentrate on the exhibits so we headed off to character search. while waiting for the Green Army Man to come out we saw our Dream Team friend and went to chat with her. Her and her partner had set up a bean bag toss game near Al's toy barn and they were awarding stickers to participants. Kids and adults alike were enjoying the game. AR is the name of the nicest Dream Team member that you could ever meet. Anyway, Ar and her partner we just chatting with us about our kids and their favorite characters, souvenier requests and other misc chit chat. When the Green Army Man came out we went to get his autograph and AR followed us over and asked if we would be interested in being the Opening Family for the late afternoon Indiana Jones show. Well of course we would be. We were supposed to meet her at Indy at 4:15 that afternoon. I cannot tell you how special we felt. I also must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed talking to AR on both trips and I wasn't expecting or even hoping for a dream as I truly enjoyed listening to her stories. I highly recommend talking with the Dream Team or any other CM as they all have wonderful stories to tell and I really think that they feel just a special as we do when someone takes the time to listen  AR is probably the most personable CM that I have ever had the privilege to talk to and truly the conversations were highlights of our trip. Now back to the dream. We ran into some friends from the DIS at the ABC commissary and they had fastpasses for Rockin Roller Coaster. Since we had the Dream Fastpasses we all headed off together. They got Tower of Terror Fastpasses on the way by. After Rockin Rollercoaster we headed to the exit area of TOT to wait for their fastpass time. We spotted a group of 4 Dream Team members on the Cast Only Stairway of TOT. We lingered there a bit wondering what Dream they were going to be giving out. After a little while they came out of that area and it turned out that AR was one of those members and they had just handed out the Pin/Lanyard sets at TOT. It was then that she apologized to DH and I as she was not able to award us the Indy opening as it was a different CMs job that afternoon. She said that she did have something else in mind and asked us to meet her in front of Muppets at 4 PM. So a few hours passed by and we met her as planned. She and her partner were upset about the Indy mixup. We explained that we didn't care and had thoroughly enjoyed talking to them, no worries. She then informed us that She and the rest of the dream team had combined efforts and put together a little package for us. They had remembered exactly which character's each of our sons liked and had a trading pin for each of them. They had also found the Aztec coin that my son had requested. Someone from the dream team threw in a 3 plastic coins from the Pirate and Princess party and AR and her partner had selected a year of a million dreams picture frame for DH and I. Needless to say we were blown away. This was by far a better Dream than winning a Fastpass because we could see all the time, energy and thought that was put into it. She told us that we were a very special couple/family and that she wanted to celebrate that. AR if you ever read this I cannot express in words how happy you made DH and I and our 3 boys. Thank You!!!

Saturday was our day for AK. We got to the park a bit later than we would have liked, but we had been to breakfast with a group of DIS friends so being late was so not an issue. Anyway we got fastpasses to KS then headed over to Everest. We had planned to do the Single rider line as the regular line was 40 minutes. We walked up and DH thinking he was a funny guy demanded that we be seated together, Immediately. The CMs looked at him and laughed. The started up a conversation with a wonderful CM named Eric. Eric has been on the Everest Team since opening and he was so knowledgable. Having rode the ride before I asked why the sequences occur in the order that they do. I found it strange that you approach the torn up track, the see the shadow sequence that shows the Yeti ripping up the track. I think it should be the other way around, but what to I know. Eric explained that there was more to the sequence than that, it turns out that when you meet the yeti towards the end that that is the actual scene that is depicted in the shadow scene. If you weren't traveling so fast you would be able to see another set of tracks to the side of the Yeti. Obviously we had never noticed it. Eric then offered to take us to the Control Tower for a tour. More Pixie Dust for us. The control tower has video screens showing every section of the ride. They showed us the Yeti scene and sure enough there is a second set of track there. They also showed us how the tracks switch and some other very cool mechanical things. After our tour we were escorted to the front of the line and could choose any row we wanted. Eric also explained that Joe Rodi designed the entire ride around row 9. Row 9 has the best view and the best positioning throughout the ride so row 9 is what we chose. He also suggested that if you lean as far forward as you can, nearly laying your head in your lap during the part of the ride that goes backwards you will have a heightened coaster experience. Boy was he right!!! It felt like we went through an inversion, but in reality it wasn't even close. After our ride we hunted Eric down and thanked him for the information, tour and riding tips. He then handed us fastpasses to go back on and told us to try to hold our arms straight out in front of us and lift our feet off the floor during the helix section. So back on we went. Let me tell you that I could not hold my arms out straight or keep my legs up as the force was so strong. So we had a magical moment and now you all know a few secrets of Everest so I hope that we are spreading the Magic Too

This past trip was a birthday trip for our family, celebrating my birthday and several others. It was an 8 night trip to DL - our longest trip yet. We were staying in the DL Hotel for the first time. We had stayed at the Grand about five times.

We knew a lot of the bellhops from our trips to the Grand and they recognized us. We are pretty easy to recognize - I am 27, in a wheelchair and on a non-invasive ventilator, and on an IV pump all the time - and my 4 yr old niece has a severe vis. impairment and uses a vision cane. You don't really see that combo a lot, so a lot of the CM's know us.

One day we left the hotel to go see the Koi pond and the waterfalls, and take pictures and stuff.

When we got back to the hotel room, on my bed (which had been cleaned while we were gone) was a birthday surprise! There were 5 helium balloons - in purple and blue, my favorite colors - a box of Disney shortbread cookies, an 8x10 BW Glossy photo of Mickey Mouse, in an envelope labeled "Special Delivery". The photo said "To my Pal Nikki from your Pal Mickey Mouse". And there was a cake made out of washcloths and hand towels, with blue and purple ribbons wrapped around it, and chocolate Disney coins stuffed into it. There was also a Happy Birthday pin on the towel cake.

It was so neat! I thought maybe one of my family members had set it up, but they said they didn't. Mom asked Guest Services if they knew who sent it, and they said I had won a dream prize and it was from the staff at the hotel! I loved it. I gave two of the balloons to my niece, who tied them around her vision cane. Anytime a CM asked her about them she said "My Auntie and I won a dream prize!"

It was really fun to win a prize that was so unexpected. And so sweet of them to think of me. I wondered how they knew which bed was mine, but then my sister pointed out that my bedside ventilator was right there, so it was a dead giveaway. The CM who set it up had actually helped us a lot when we stayed at the Grand. He was filling in for someone over at DL Hotel. It was him and the CM that had taken our reservations that decided to do it.

We won some Tink pins also, and my niece and little cousin loved that.

We also got to go on Monsters, Inc twice in a row and Winnie the Pooh twice in a row. The CM said it was a dream prize, and the kids were really excited.

My niece during our last trip before this one, won a bouquet of balloons, an autograph book and pen, a Tinkerbell pin (which she traded for a Cinderella pin), and an activity book and crayons.

1) We met the family that stayed in the castle the night before after having our Royal Table breakfast. They were all starry eyed and the big burly dad was shaking with excitement while he showed us his pictures on his digital camera. :goodvibes

2) We received YOMD lanyards after my oldest daughter rode the Thunder Mountain Railroad for the first time ever- and she decided to give her lanyard away to her grandmother that didn't ride but had just bought her a purple lanyard and tink pins. :cloud9:

3) We were family of the show at MGM Playhouse Disney and my youngest daughter danced with glee throughout the show after meeting JoJo and Goliath.

4) Not official YOMD, but my hubby talked to Crush and the Monsters tagged me on the laugh floor on different days.:thumbsup2

5) Mouskeeping played hide and seek with our stuffed pets all week.:dance3:

6) MIL and hubby tolerated each other quite well for 9 days- now that's Disney Magic! :rotfl2:

So we had a magical moment and now you all know a few secrets of Everest so I hope that we are spreading the Magic Too
How neat!! I love our story. What an awesome CM!
We also have 2 CMs that are very special to us. 1 is a photopass photographer named Jennifer and the other is a dream team member named Amy

We just got back yesterday from a week in the World and won some official dreams and had a few "Magical Moments". We won dream fastpasses at Epcot on our 2nd day... it must have been just before 10:30am because we were rushing to the Princess breakfast in Norway when a cm was motioning for people to go across the path she was on... well, since I've been on the DIS for a while I knew to just go where she wanted me to even if it made us a little late for our breakfast. Then on Thursday we won the lanyards getting off of Goofy's Barnstormer - must have been 12:30-1:00ish. And on Friday my daughter and I won dream fastpasses at MGM on the Rockin' Rollercoaster.

We also had little magical moments... one at the Soarin' souveneer booth where my kids had to figure out who's feet were hanging off the Soarin' seat. One where my youngest dd4 was wearing her Cinderella costume and the bus driver made a comment about her being a princess, then when we pulled into the MK he stopped at a different place than normal and started honking (we were clueless about what was going on) then when we got off he introduced dd to a cm that was stationed at this stop and she said we had won a magical moment and took dd4's picture with a poloriod and said that she was going to be in there million princesses and pirates promotion (I still have no idea what this is) then plopped a pirate hat on ds6 and took his picture too. She got all sorts of info on us and gave us a family fastpass for our trouble. So that was cool with us. DD10 and DS6 also got chosen for the Jedi Training and DD10 was chosen for the pirate tutorial with Capt. Jack. I think there were some other things too but I can't remember off the top of my head.

It was a great trip and I can't wait to go back!!!!

Great stories of the YOAMD! We went to the MK back in October. IT was our little one's first time and really our first time together:) We were in line at Dumbo and we asked a family in line ahead of us where they bought their OUr first time buttons. THe dad said at our hotel they give them. I told dh that we would request back when we got back and without hesitation the little girl and boy took off theirs (they were 6 and 7 I foudn out). It touched us that they were so young and offered our children their souvenirs without even requesting it. We talked during the line and found out the little boy was really into police and fireman stuff. My dh is a police officer and has coins with his badge emblem on one side and his squad's nn on the other. HE happened to have a couple with him and gave one to each of the kids. We seen them later at the parade and the dad said the little boy was on cloud 9 he has real police "money" lol:) I was so happy we had something to give back and now that we are going to Disney in Christmas he is making sure he brings some more!

We were in Disneyland in February and the kids were doing some pin trading. The CM they were trading with asked if they had seen the comercials about YOMD and DD4(3 at the time) got so excited and asked if he was going to blow some magic on them like on TV. He said yes and gave them both a special Tinkerbell pin for their lanyards. It was priceless and they still talk about it today...

COLOR="Magenta"]We went to Disney at the beginning of October...I really wanted to get a wish granted...but I knew the chances were slim. However, while @ EPCOT, waiting to get on the Nemo ride we were pleasantly suprised with "Year of a Million Dreams" Mickey Ears! We formed a huge commotion because EVERYONE in our party got the Mickey ears (we were 7). It was a wonderful experience!!! Thank you Wish Makers![/COLOR]

Last January we had the best trip ever to Disneyland!! While we were waiting to ride the "Winnie The Pooh", a CM started asking us ?'s about our trip. I couldn't stop talking about how great our trip was. She asked my kids what they liked best and they politely answered her. She also asked how long we were staying, and I informed her, it was our last night. Then as we were next to get on the ride, she pulled out DISNEYLAND HONORARY CITIZEN pins for each of us!! That was just icing on the cake for us!

We just got back and had three very cool experiences with a Year of a million Dreams. We were given a Dream Fastpass in the Animal Kingdom on the walk-thru trail near the Kilamanjaro Safari. They let about 20 or so people through to the MeerKat part of the walk and the CM’s were holding up the line after us. I had walked ahead of my family by a couple of steps and had asked the CM to let them through so they could stay with me. I had no idea what was to happen and they were fine with that. We went around the corner and Boom, congrats, you have Fastpasses, very cool. The second time was when we were at Epcot. We had walked up to the Fastpass machines at about 11:30 at Test Track. The return time was for 6:00 that night. Talk about a long time to wait. Just as I was about to put my card in, a CM from Test Track, John, grabbed me and asked if we wanted to go on the ride now with no wait. We were to be the Family of the Hour. We were taken in through the store and up into the control room. We were walking above everyone’s heads. We saw all of the monitors showing the cars on the track. There were 26 at that point. And then we were taken down some stairs to the queue. We were asked our names and then John disappeared as the ride took off. When we got back, he was waiting for us and handed us a certificate and sent us through the ride again. The two guys with us got to ride again also. This was the first time my DS10 had gone on this ride and he got the full treatment. Very Fun and exciting.
The last item we were awarded was the best. We had gotten a great rate and that was why we were staying at the Grand Floridian. Garden view, of course. When we checked in we were told to be patient and wait a couple of minutes. Out comes Patrick from the Concierge desk. He was going to lead us to our nice newly refurbished Concierge Level room in the Sugarloaf lodge. WOW! We had received a Year of a Million Dreams room upgrade. Did I say WOW? It was incredible. The room was huge and the concierge benefits were awesome. It was nice to have a spread laid out for Breakfast and dinner. The availability of soda and juices made for a very comfortable trip. The only downside is that we sent ourselves snacks to save money. We re-addressed the box and sent it to the DW’s niece in College in Tampa. We definitely lived the DREAM on this trip. Good Luck all.

Congrats MickeyMaz!

We just got back from WDW too but didn't see any winners, nor were we lucky enough to be winners in the YOMD. However, one day while at AK, we (there were 5 of us) and we were getting on the Safari ride. Well, all 5 of us couldn't fit in the row, so I got to ride right behind the driver - that was cool! I just love magical moments like that! I got some great pictures too.

We had a "Magical Moment"! It happened Wednesday morning, at MGM. We were there for the opening, and we were chosen to be the first family to check into the Hollywood Tower Hotel...in other words, we were the very first to ride Tower of Terror that day! What fun!

We got back Nov. 17th, and on one day my husband and 16yo decided to sleep in, my 20 yo and I decided to go to MGM. We went right to TOT and got fast passes, then rode it, then he wanted to go on RRC, but I didn't, so said I'd meet him in the gift shop. When he came out, he said, hurriendly, come with me back in the single rider line. I saw dream team up there, but they looked like they were waiting. So I went with him, and as they took us single riders around the corner just before walking into the studio, there they were- 2 dream team people, saying we'd all won dream fast passes! We were so excited, and we then walked over to see Narnia, and as we approached One Man's Dream, there were a couple castmembers outside who commented on our fastpasses, and we chatted a bit about how we'd just won them and were so excited. They suggested we come watch One Man's Dream, and I said we'd done that last time, we were looking for the entrance to Narnia. One woman said to me, " You REALLY should just walk through here first" and winked at me! So I casually said to my son, Ok, Matthew, let's just take a quick walk through first. Sure enough, as we entered and rounded the corner, the same 2 dream team who gave us our fastpasses, gave us lanyards and pins! I ended up giving my dream fastpass to my 16yo. He was such a good sport and was happy for me winning, I insisted he take it, as I'd ridden everything I'd wanted already.

Another day, at EPCOT, the same son went to ride MS, and I was looking for a mailbox, and approached a couple CM's, and one gentleman decided to help me find one nearby. As we did, we chatted, and I commented that I was here with one son, and he was riding MS, and that the family had split up for morning but were meeting up for lunch at Coral Reef. He said, I should see what I can do to ensure you at least ride something together!, and gave me a VIP fast pass for any ride for the 4 of us that day. Very neat! We of course decided to do Soarin together (and we asked to wait for the first row).

My 20yo also was escorted behind the scenes for an extra ride on TOT!

It sure was a fun experience! :cool1:

Just got back on Tuesday. We always say we never get anything, but one day we went into Mickey's Philharmagic and were selected to be the band of the day! We also got two family fast passes for any ride that day.

The next day we went to AK and my kids were selected to be "Co-engineers" and got to blow the train whistle!

After the train, we went to pet the animals and three of my kids went to sing with Dan and got wishes pins.

Finally, we got YOMD lanyards and pins at Epcot.

These may not be as great as some others, but they made my kids happy!

BTW what does a dream team member dress like?

They wear a light blue oxford type shirt, but the Dream Team personnel who actually give out the prizes also have a white vest over the blue shirt. Someone has posted a picture previously, so perhaps you could do a search on it. They also are carrying messenger type bags with them.

We had several dreams in Sep and none of ours had a vest on. One of our dreams was actually by a dream team member in reg. CM clothes. She had the black bag, but was not in the blue and tan at all.
That was on Fri. Sep21st. @9:15a.m. We were on the carousal and when it stopped the CM told us we could stay on if we wanted to So the boys switched horses. One was on Cinderellas and the other was on Prince Charmings we were told. Anyway a CM came up and presented them with a certificate and a Sticker each proclaiming them Prince of the Day! We were told we could ride the carousal as long as they wanted. When we got off Mary Poppins got on the ride. We waited and when it stopped they took my sons and let them be the first to meet her.
Later that day we were getting ice Cream and I stopped a CM to ask directions somewhere. She asked me about my button and we started talking. I had on a Wish Trip family member button as it was my youngest sons WISH trip. Anyway She asked if the boys liked Cinderella. I told her my youngest son really did. She told me she knew the fairy Godmother really well and if they would like to meet her she could make that happen. We went back to the boys and she asked them if they would like too. Of course my youngest was bouncing in his wheelchair saying YES!! This had been a rough day so just to see him smile was making me cry. I told her that their was another WISH family in the park and their 5 yr old DD's wish was Cinderella, but due to the YOAMD they weren't able to grant that. Could they have our dream? She said she could do better than that, they could have one too!!! We got to all go in together and they gave us an extremely long time with her. We have some of the best pics and when my son came rolling in Cinderella curtsied to him and said"At last my Prince arrives!" That Sat. WE were at MGM taking photopass pics and he was given the Tinkerbell pins he gave one to his brother who gave it to another WISH DD that we were meeting and she gave him one of hers she had recieved! It was neat.
Unofficial dreams were, Upon arrivall we had a plate of Chocolate covered strawberries and a chocolate swan fan delivered to our room at the Beach Club. Tues our first day at MK a Photopass photographer was taking pics of our oldest DS playing waiting on the parade when she noticed my wish shirt, before we knew it we were in the VIP section, we were given ears with our names embroided on them, lots of stickers for the boys, the characters were calling out their names when they came by during the parade and then after the parade, we were given coupons for free ice cream and some for free popcorn and soda. We were then told where Cap. Jacks meet and greet was and when we got there we were given a private, extra long meet with him. He gave the boys gold coins which he signed in front of them. Wed we were given a private meet with Mickey. They were given free ice cream 2x, while we given free drinks at a cart on another. On that Tues after the Dreams parade we were asked to be in the Family Fun Day and the kids were given more stickers and a BIG production was made abouthow DS5 was at DISNEY WORLD. DS5 was made Sherrif at Pecos Bills and they were both given POC Buttons on one of the Busses and DS5 was made honorary driver. THey recieved the Big dreams buttons also. I think I've left out a few things but you get the jest. It was a wonderfull time. Oh Yeah. Our last day we ran back to MGM. We were told that the Incredibles had left at 5:00, we went to see if any characters were still there and the Incredibles were!!! It was after5:30. They had closed the line, but when the CM saw us she asked us to wait and went and talked to the Incredibles and their handler, they looked at us and started shaking their heads ues and pionting at us. She came back and asked us to wait. Other people tried to get in line also and sad to say some were not using Disney friendly language when told NO the Line was Closed. After waiting @ 20 min. we were taken to the Incredibles and they were truly INCREDIBLE!!! They made a big production aver BOTH my kids. when DS5 said he wanted to be like DASH Mr. Incredible started running in place, then lifted up my sons arms and made a big deal over his muscles!!! Both CM's and I had tears in our eyes. This was my son in the wheelchair. We took him out of his chair for some of the pics and Mrs. Incredible helped him stand up. When we were leaving. They held the kids hands all the way downstairs where we were taken in front of everyone to see REMY. As they were leaving Mr. Incredible made a motion for everyone to look at Braeton then he clamped his hands over his head, like "He's a WINNER" He then ran to the employee door and kicked it open and then turned and waved. Mrs. Incredible blew kisses the whole way out. We had lots of GOOD character experiences and a lot of extra perks. Just the trip itself was a prize for us and then to get all of the extras!!!!:woohoo:

We got to Epcot early on our last day (the Saturday after TG) because we wanted to be sure to get FPs for Soarin'. After getting our FPs we saw the standby was about 30 minutes so we figured we'd get in line so we could ride twice. Just before boarding we saw CMs handing out the dream FPs so we each got one. They came in very handy! Later that morning we were walking from FW to WS via the path by The Odyssey. I was about to make a detour but my wife noticed more CMs handing our stuff so we continued that way and got pins and a lanyard. The kids traded the pins for others they wanted but I kept mine. Also, we ended up not using the regular paper FPs for Soarin' so I gave them to another family of four - made them happy! (I only hope they realized they can ignore the last time on the FP - I forgot to mention that...)

We also received lanyards and pins. We were entering the Muppet 3d ride and were stopped in the queue. The dream squad handed out the lanyards and pins and we were very surprised. Pretty cool to win something, even if it was just something small.
also my DD and I were at opening at MGM and ran down to RnRR for a quik ride. The family in front of us got the fastpasses for the day. That would have been neat.

My MIL and FIL went with me, my DH and my 2 yo DD. The first day we got a personalized tour of the Discovery Trail at AK (she showed us the rock with the "bug hole" that lines up with the ant that "planted" the seed for the tree) and then she took us to the "Tough to be a Bug" show by way of a CM path that put us at the front of the line.
The second day we went to MK and were picked to be Grand MArshals of the parade! Wow, what fabulous fun! My dd loves Daisy Duck and she was the character that rode with us! They also gave her a Fast pass for any ride she wanted to go on that day! We also got to watch the parade from a VIP section after we got off our parade car.
We went back to AK the third day and got YOAMD Tinkerbell pins from a YOAMD CM.
The last day we went to Epcot where I had planned for my DH to have the diver sign and personalized menu at the CR restaurant. I was worried it would'nt pull off (I've heard stories that some people have gotten this after months of planning) but it did and he was very surprised and excited!
My MIL and FIL loved the magical vacation i planned!:thumbsup2 (With obviously some, okay well a lot of help from the CMs!!)

We had lots of dreams this trip. We were there from 11/21 - 11/29. Our official dream was the lanyards and pins we received after our ride on Everest.

The unofficial ones were an upgrade from a studio to a one bedroom at SSR,
the kids got to ride the barnstormer with Goofy and Pluto and were escorted to the front of the line in the Judges Tent. They also rode the teacups with Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Thank you! I also think that the sillier you act, the better chances you have of being recognized and picked! (Being silly is NOT a problem for my family! :rotfl: )

This was partly our 16th anniversary trip, and we ate at Rose and Crown for lunch on 11/28. Our server was a lovely girl named Emma, and after the meal she brought us a certificate and two Where Dreams Come True Tinkerbell pins. On the cards it read "One for You" and "One to Give". We were really pleased, because we've never gotten any of the lanyards or fastpasses or anything.

I'd planned on looking for a kid with Tinkerbell pins, but at MVMCP on 11/29, I was taking a smoke break by the Tomorrowland Speedway, and saw an elderly woman sitting by the fence in a wheelchair, watching the cars go by. I watched her for a little bit, then decided, "I'm going to give this to her." I think she reminded me of my granny, who passed away earlier this year.

I approached her, told her about our anniversary and how we'd gotten the pins, and told her I'd like to give her the other pin. Turns out that she couldn't have been a better recipient. It was her very first trip to Disney, and her son and daughter-in-law had started a pin collection for her. On her lanyard was a CBR pin, and the cute one with the characters that says, "My First Trip". She looked really happy to be getting the pin.

I think more than getting the pins from Emma, I was happier being able to spread a little pixie dust of my own. :wizard:

We were in Disney 11/25-12/1 and never even saw a dream team member in any park! We answered a survey at Epcot and were given the pair Tinkerbill pins as a thank you. One 'gift' we got was from one of the bus drivers. We had had dinner at Boma and were waiting for the bus to go back to CR. Because the buses don't go from resort to resort, we had to get the one to MK then catch the monorail. It was late and when the bus came, we were the only two getting on. The driver asked if were knew we were going to MK (since it was already closed) and DH said 'yes, unless you want to drop us at CR'. He said "OK, we're now officially the Contemporary Express!" I told him it was very nice of him to offer but I didn't want to get him in trouble. He said not to worry so I told him that I would accept that as my official prize for the week. He just laughed but I thought it was very nice of him.
