I haven't read all of these yet (but I plan to later...everything is so exciting!) so this may or may not have been mentioned.

I was there Jan. 8-14 and saw lots of people with Dream Fastpasses...alas, we just never ended up in the right place at the right time for those! The only thing we got happened at AK. We were kind of stressed out that day because it was the day the WDW Marathon was running through the parks, so maneuvering was difficult. We stopped in at Pizzafari to get lunch and as they put our tray on the counter, the CM working raised her voice and said that we had been chosen as customers of the hour! We got a gigantic cupcake with blue icing with our meal!

So it wasn't a Dream Fastpass or a night in the castle, but it's just one of those little Disney touches that makes every vacation special! pixiedust:

DH and I were awarded Dream Fastpasses while coming off of SSE on Tuesday the 30th.

It was very fun and special, but we really only needed the one for Soarin'. Everything else was a walk-on! :thumbsup2

While me and DD3 and DD3mos were character hunting (a great sport I might add) my husband, and 3 friends with us rode Haunted Mansion. When they were getting out of the ride they received Dream fastpasses. Not a huge deal was made about them, but it was great. I was so excited. Since I didn't receive one we just used each of their tickets to get me and DD3 fastpasses for the other rides. It was great. The crowds wern't so bad so we didn't use all of the passes, but it was great for them to win. Did I mention how excited I was :goodvibes

Oh, and it was Sunday the 28th.

Well, we aren't actually sure if we scored a wish or not, but the Disney travel agent certainly made me feel like we did! We've had our room at the Port Orleans, French Quarter booked for months. Then we figured out that we had an extra day, and decided to hit disney for that one too! Four days at disney is a dream to a college kid that always has classes or other things in the way.

Anyways...We called the disney travel agent only a week and a half before we were supposed to come in (Feb. 09-Feb. 12). To make a long story short, she kept naming all the rooms that were available which only included the concierge sweets at a number of resorts. My BF told the agent that were were going for VDay and needed something around the same price range. She responded with "Awww...thats so sweet." Then she asked him the big question, "Do you believe in magic?" He responded, "when it comes to disney i do". Then she proceeded to tell us about a super low rate at the wilderness lodge that "doesn't come around that often" was the way she put it. So did we get a wish or what?? :earboy2:

WOW! all of these stories are GREAAATTT. I can't wait now for our trip in May!!!! Of course my DREAM....is to stay in the castle and I'm hoping and dreaming and wishing that it will happen. However I do have a unYOMD realted story that has to do with a cm granting a wish. thought i'd share.. :goodvibes

Well two years ago we had tried and tried to make reservations for the breakfast in cinderella's castle. However, we called and called and were unsuccessful. I was heartbroken so we arrived at the Poly and went to the resturant..Kona Cafe i believe and told the story to our waitress unknowing that she was a manager and five mins later she approched us with our conformation number and we had reservations

Just thought I would share!!!

OK got back from 10 days (Jan 20th thru Jan 29th)

January 22nd we had come into Chester and Hester's Dinoland and had just gotten off of Triceratops Spin with DD2. Our friend decided she would sit with DD while we rode Primeval Whirl. Walking over to the standby line we were approached by a CM and asked would we like to be County Diggs Honorary family. We of course said yes!!! We were given the Whirlin, Twirlin and Duckin limited edition lithograph (very cool!) of Donald and his nephews on the ride and a magical moments certificate and taken to the head of the line to ride Whirl and given 2 rides in a row!!! That really made my day! Whirl is the same track as The Exterminator ride in Kennywood here in Pittsburgh so it is a nostalgia thing for DH and I. I even kissed the CM on the cheek to thank her!!!

Also DD found the giant in the Store next to Snow White and given a certificate.

Saw alot of Dream Team around and spoke to several of them....wonderful to talk to and interesting to hear their perspective on the campaign.

Saw some fastpasses, ears and made sure to congratulate each person I saw with one. Some looked at me as if I was nuts......if they only knew what they had.......

Also as a side note:Did the EarlyMH at MK on Jan 25th in pouring rain.....but it was so much fun. Dumbo was a walk on and actually was allowed to ride it twice in a row since noone was lined up. So little crowd that we did all of Fantasyland in one hour!!!

Gosh, our trip had so much Pixie Dust it will take weeks to wash it all off!!

1/27: Checked in around noon and headed over to MK. First ride we rode, Magic Carpets - got badge and wristband for extra hour in park!
1/28: dd's 7th bday - she got to be honorary princess at CRT *and* got to wake Tink!! I got a Magical Certificate for finding Hidden Mickeys at Star Traders!
1/29: Got Dream Fastpasses on Tower of Terror!
1/30: Got lanyards with 2 pins on Soarin'!
1/31: Got Dream Fastpasses on Primeval Whirl!
2/1: DS rode Goofy's Barnstormer 6 times in a row (without getting off) towards the end of the P&P Party! He was totally giddy!

I hadn't been reading the disboards, because I decided not to planplanplan this trip like I usually do. Everything was a wonderful surprise!

Could someone tell me more about finding the giant in the store next to Snow White and about finding the Hidden Mickey's in the Star Trader shop? I have never heard of these two before.

We had a girls trip with the kids this past week and it was wonderful!!
My ds is 4 years old and he had a great time... he had a dream cm take him backstage to mingle with the toy story guys after their show. He was able to have photos and autographs all by himself for about 15 minutes. He also rode barnstormer with Goofy twice in a row. Also, he had alone time with Captian Jack Sparrow. All of this because of the yomd......It was GREAT~

what does the dream team wear????easy to spot???

clemsondisneyfan
02-06-2007, 03:13 PM
White shirts and dark pants.....like other CMs....but on the name tag under the name it says Dream Team Cast Member - or something like that.

It seems as though they carried black pouches too.

We saw them outside the gates and right inside the gates a lot at Epcot - when they opened. My kids did pin trading with them - they had great pins to trade!

krista3030
02-06-2007, 03:32 PM
as for pin trading...did you buy pins there or bring them from other places you have travelled or from where you live?
:cheer2:

Haeg
02-06-2007, 04:21 PM
The pin trading would be all Disney pins, they can be from all over the world as long as they are Disney (yes you can purchase them just about anywhere in WDW). My 9 yr old DS traded for a pin that they only give out on the Disney cruise this last visit to WDW.

I'm too selfish to trade pins, I keep what I buy.

clemsondisneyfan
02-06-2007, 05:07 PM
My kids each have lanyards full of pins....they traded for ones from cruises, Disneyland and even EuroDisney.

If you are lucky, you might win a lanyard with some pins on them! They are giving those away this year.

At least 2 times a CM even gave my youngest a pin b/c he just could not decide what pin to give up! But, that happened last year before YOMD....so we didn't consider that a "prize." They are just so nice at Disney!

the pin trading is a BLAST! :goodvibes even my 4 year old was into it.
For those that are going on their 1st trip there (or their kids 1st trip) make sure to stop by guest relations in whatever park you are at and get a My First Visit button. The CM's will wish you a happy first visit when they spot it, and both my little guys were given the gourmet brownies (YUM!) for dessert at Casey's in MK when the counter guy noticed their buttons! That was SWEET! :cool1:

We received the pins with the lanyards when we entered our room for Star Tours. Once we were seated two members of the Dream Team announced that we all won a dream. I was sooo excited, I didn't know what it would be. Then when they told us that it was the pins and lanyards I was thrilled. I was thrilled that we won anything!!! I didn't think I would get anything at all, because that is just my luck. So I was pleasantly shocked!:yay:

Other than us receiving our dream pin/lanyard set, we only saw the Dream Team once during our week's stay. There were people exiting Spaceship Earth and they were being given dream fast passes.

My 4 year old daughter was lucky enough to have a Magical Moment when we were @ MK in Nov. '06. She got to design a MR. Potato Head to be put on display, not sure for how long but really don't matter she was soo excited and proud of it. Was really neat and she got a certificate with her name on it signed by a cast member. Something she will always remember!!

On our last morning when getting off the bus at MK, my DD3 (dressed as Cinderella for her CRT breakfast) had her picture taken by a CM on a red carpet. She was given a Magical Moment certificate to hold up in the picture, and a balloon. It was very cute.

While we didn't have any traditional "dreams" we had some very special things happen for us while we were there celebrating my birthday!

On our first night, we accidentally ended up at the Ticket and Transportation Center without a way back to our hotel (POFQ). A very nice bus driver said he would drive us back to our hotel- and we had the whole bus to ourselves!

But the best thing that happened was when our flight home was cancelled due to the ice storm and we had to stay an extra night! We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, a hotel that we've always wanted to stay at, and spent a fabulous extra day with the animals and lounging out by the pool.

What a great trip!

I have to tell you, when I read your post it made me giggle because I immediately pictured all the animals from the Savannah lying around the pool with sunglasses and drinks with little umbrellas. :teeth:

We just got back from 5 days at WDW and won two Dreams. The first was a special one on one meet and greet with Cinderella with our 4 and 2 year old daughters. That was pretty neat.

The other one was a bit of a stretch. We were the first family to arrive at the final (8:15) showing of the American Experience at Epcot. That made us the "family of the show", which means we got to enter about 5 minutes before everyone else to pick out our seats and they introduced us as the family of the show. They also gave us a certificate designating showing up first as an official dream! I suspect we won dream #999,998 out of the one million!

The dream they ought to offer (if they don't) is personalized van shuttle in and from any destination - that one I'd love to win!

We were so happy to win a few of the YOMD's prizes on our resent trip to WDW (1/31-2/5) !! MGM- A cast member (thanks Joy!) handed myself, DS, my friend, and her DD passes to walk right onto Rocking Roller Coaster. Then the cast member handed my DH, and my friends DH, passes so when we got off ( they had younger children duty!) they could walk on! AK-the line for Everest was HUGE, but we had to ride it, so as we were deciding who was going on,who was going to wait with the younger kids, a cast member( I think her name was Theressa from Brazil, she was so nice!!) walks up to us, asks if we are going on the ride, and how many, she said, " I want you to be my guest":yay: . She walked us all the way in (the fast pass line), when we got closer to the ride, asked were we wanted to sit, my DS(10:cool2: )wanted the front, she told the other cast member , and front seat and first rows we all went!! We said good bye to her and thanked her. AK-while walking on one of the paths ( by where the tigers are) a cast member came up to us (my family and our friends) and said, "you people are in the right place at the right time",( I was hoping for the DVC!),and handed us each YOMD lanyards which had to YOMD pins on it. Our prizes might have been small but we were just so-o thrilled to have been winners!!!!!!! Just magical!!!

Our Dream was granted before we even made it to WDW! pixiedust: When we arrived at Orlando Airport and checked in for Disney's Magical Express to Animal Kingdom Lodge, I had a nice conversation with the lady checking us in and had told her this was our first visit to WDW. She asked if we were celebrating anything special, and I told her that our grandson was turning 3 on our last day. After finishing checking us in, she told me to gather the rest of our family and meet her by the door. When we got to the door she was standing with another cast member, who said that Mickey had heard that it was going to be Cameron's birthday :cake: and he had a special surprise! When we walked out the door there was a limo waiting to take us to our Hotel! Cameron was given a special dreams certificate and they took our picture for us to remember the occasion.:goodvibes

I have been to WDW several times since the YOAMD promotion started, and while not expecting dreams I always hoped to get one but never did. This morning at AK my dad and I went to Expedition Everest. I always wait in line to sit in the front row, but this time instead of just a few people in line there was a HUGE line for the front. So I decided to just go where I was put, and we were placed in the middle of the car. While we were waiting, I noticed over at the exit were members of the Dream Squad. I nudged my dad and said, "Once again it looks like we'll be late for whatever's happening over there." So we watched until our train came, but the Dream Squad never did anything. I fully expected them to be gone by the time our ride was over, but SURPRISE, the CM announced over the loudspeaker that we were the winners. We got the YOAMD lanyard and pins, and I couldn't wait to put mine on! I probably looked like an idiot walking around all day with not one but two lanyards (I was already wearing my standard lanyard), but I couldn't just not wear my Dream. :goodvibes

I am anxiously awaiting our trip in August but I had to post a great moment that happened to us in March of 2001. We were celebrating our return to America from living in Japan with a trip to WDW. I don't know what I was thinking taking 3 little children (ages 3,5 and 7) to Disney at Easter time but there we were on our first day. It had been played up big since we were finally living back in America.

Well, we arrived at MK at about 10 am after a 5 am airplane ride, and got to Splash Mountain at about 11 (that was to be our first ride; but the crowds were so bad it took us an hour to get over to it.) The standby line was 2 hours and the fastpasses were being given out for 10-11pm! We tried explaining to our 5 year old (who had been drawing and having me draw disney characters for 2 years and had learned to read from a disney tour book by himself!) that we would have to wait until the next day to go on Splash Mountain. He started crying, quietly and I was trying to comfort him. He, again very quietly said, "I wished I hadn't come to Disney because I love it so much." A man in a suit, stopped as he was walking by and said, "what did you say?" My son, stopped crying, and said, "well I still love Disney but I don't like today." The man asked why and my son said, "we got up really early this morning so we could ride Splash Mountain and now we can't." The man in the suit, (no name tag) said, "I can fix that" He took us in the exit for splash mountain, put us in the next boat and gave us fastpass tickets for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad on which he had scrawled a signiture and said they were good at anytime. While I normally wouldn't want to reward crying, it was a very unusual situation and the man from Disney saved our day. We have been good customers since then having been back 4 times in the past 6 years. And my son who is now 11 wants to work for Disney as an Imagineer.

We were at WDW JAN 29-FEB 5, 2007. We received 2 dreams...

The 1st was at Peter Pan's Flight...it was almost lunchtime and there was a long line. As this was one of our boys' favorites this trip, we decided to get a FP and return later to ride. When we went to put our card in to get the FPs, a CM dream team member stopped us and said he had something special in mind, asked us to park our strollers and come back so he could explain. He explained to my 3 y/o sons that they were to be honorary lost boys and as such would get to ride immediately. In order to be lost boys, they would, of course, have to be sprinkled with pixie dust (which the boys LOVED)! He gave them a certificate with their names on it as "honorary lost boys" - it had autographs from Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, and Tinker Bell! He then escorted us to our very own ships, ahead of everyone in line! :goodvibes The boys carried the pixie dust tightly in their hands throughout the entire ride. I had to pry it from their hands and save it in my purse for them. :)

The 2nd dream was at lunch at Crystal Palace the next day. We had 11:30 am reservations. When they called us up for our table, they told us we were the "first family" and would help prepare everyone for lunch by leading them all in Pooh's exercises. Piglet and Pooh came out to help us and we all sang "Up, down, touch the ground..." Then, Pooh and Piglet took each of my sons by the hand and led us into the restaurant, where a CM took a pic of our family with Pooh and Piglet....then Pooh and Piglet took the boys each by a hand and led them to our special table, which was decorated with curly ribbon, pixie dust, homemade biscuits, and our very own "bear" bottle of honey. They presented us with a certificate, which all the characters signed. It was really fun! :wizard:

FYI---It was especially nice to receive dreams this trip, as our first night in the hotel, one of my sons accidentally slammed the bathroom door on the other's pinky finger. We were in ER until 11:30 pm that night so my son could get 9 stitches in his pinky finger (after driving from 3am that morning until 3:15pm that afternoon to get to WDW). It made for a rough trip...we thought of going home the next day, but the boys were SO excited to be at WDW - we decided to stay as long as my son seemed not to be hurting too much. I think the excitement probably distracted him from the pain a lot, so we were probably better off staying anyway. They enjoyed the trip, and we decided to take them back in May!

I was in the Magic Kingdom the very first day of the year of a Millon dreams and also got my mouse-ear personalization for free....which was so nice and you could tell she was so happy to do it.

Then, at MGM on the same trip, my DS was posing with Mr. Incredible - Again!! Then, Mr. Incredible motioned to suggest he would run downstairs to Mrs. Incredible so my son could have his picture with both. I am not sure if this was 'official' but it was special and my DS was so happy.

Since then, we've been back twice on weekends - and I have noticed how I linger a little when talking to the dream team - or strike up a conversion for no reason...that must be kind of fun for them too.

I received these ears the FIRST day YOAMD started last October! We were standing on line in Animal Kingdom at Primevil Whirl and 2 CMs came out with their clickers and a bag filled with the ears! We all got them, it was soo cool to get one fo the FIRST prizes the day it started!!

We went in December for my 26th birthday. Disney for your birthday is the greatest. Every moment was magical.

We did have a few wishes moments, but the one we will always remember. My boyfriend was at MK waiting for the fireworks to start, I was getting hot cocoa. He saw a pal mickey fall out of a womans stroller, she didn't notice trying to keep three sleepy children together. He picked up the pal mickey and ran after the woman to return it, leaving his camera and tripod set up. One of the CM saw him and came over and presented him with two tinkerbell pins, one for going out of his way to do something for someone else, and one two give someone he saw doing the same thing. He was so full of pride.

The next day he let me wear the pin, it matched my outfit, and he felt a little silly wearing a tinkerbell pin. We were in World of Disney getting souveniers before leaving, and started talking with a girl who turned out to be a cast member. She noticed the pin and explained that each cast member is only given one of those to give out and that he must have done something very special to get one. My boyfriend beamed the rest of the trip, and is so excited to go next week and give away the other pin.

Of course all trips are magical...but during our trip December 12-17 with my DIL's and for my 40th birthday:upsidedow, we received two YOAMD treats while at MGM. Upon entering the park, we made a beeline for Rockin' Rollercoaster - as usual! While in the area just before going into the sound room, a CM announced that we were all winners of the Dream Fastpass and received a lanyard with fast passes for all FP rides at MGM. Everyone was thrilled! My FIL wore his all day long!

The second surprise was really EXCITING!!! My 5 yr old DS is a Power Ranger FANATIC and that is putting it mildly!!!! His sisters, 14 and 11, will attest to the fact that he can watch, play and talk about them for HOURS on end. So..the Power Ranger "show" at MGM is a favorite for the whole family. He was very anxious, and a little grumpy, to get over to that area after waiting for us to get off RRC! We were ready for the first show if the day! After the car came in with PR theme music playing loudly, we saw the rangers pose and got autographs and pics with all (He even had his sisters posing!), While we were watching the final poses before they back into the car, a CM approached us and declared that DS had been selected to be an honorary ranger! WOW!! He went over with one of the CM's working with the group and talked about the rangers in great detail. (I bet this guy would never have guessed that a 5 yr old could talk for SOO long about PRs) Then he got to get into the car with the rangers and they showed him several moves. It was amazing!!!!! I had tears running down my face just like I did the first time we went to WDW when the girls were 6 & 3 and they huggged Cinderella at CRT! He got an honorary ranger certificate which he carried around proudly for the rest of the day! He now has an HUGE picture of himself in the car with the rangers hanging in his room!

Disney is a MAGICAL place for all!!!!! (It even makes turning 40 ok! :goodvibes )

a CM approached us and declared that DS had been selected to be an honorary ranger!

WOW! Thanks for sharing. I love reading these stories:) This has become one of my favorite threads!

Well I finally have a dream that I can share with everyone! It's not an offical YOAMD dream but it is really special to DW and I.

It all started on Monday morning when we were laying in bed (it was a long weekend up here too!) and I must have been dreaming about Disney because the first thing that came to my mind was extending our trip. I really couldn't think of any reason why we didn't do it in the first place but we decided that we wanted to add a day at the start of our trip and a day at the end of our trip (total of 2 days added). I immediately went to the computer to check United's fares and they were a heckuva lot cheaper than what we paid so I figured that we'd probably come out even in that deal. So I called them up and it's going to cost us another $5 per person to change it...no biggie! BTW...you don't want to know what we paid in the first place....alright it was $600 CAD per person back in September :scared1:

I then called up AAA Vacations and they were close so I figured I'd call them back on Tuesday (yesterday). In the meantime, DW and I started planning, plotting and scheming :thumbsup2 . First thing yesterday morning I called my AAA Vacations TA and asked her to look into extending our vacation at POFQ. She called me back shortly thereafter and said that there was nothing available at the AAA rate and we couldn't add to our current reservation because we would lose the AAA rate. BTW: we really wanted to stay at POFQ and weren't willing to change. Basically we'd end up paying close to $1000 more for 2 more nights...again....:scared1: . I then asked her to start looking around for the most affordable way to solve this dilemma. Apparently she didn't seem to know what I was talking about because she came back with room only quotes for the poly and AKL...again...:scared1: .

I must have talked with her 7 times yesterday and the best she could do was a room only ressie at POP, check in to POFQ for our original package, and then another room only ressie at POR. I wasn't too keen on resort hopping to 3 resorts but I told her to put a hold on the rooms anyways.

This basically ate up my entire day (at work nonetheless) and around 4 p.m. a little fairy fully of pixiedust: named Kim saw one of my posts regarding this situation and told me that she might be able to help me out. The long and short of it was that Kim was able to get DW and I into POFQ for our ENTIRE extended trip! Oh...Kim works with Kingdom Magic Vacations! I was completely blown away because I thought that all hopes of staying at this dreamy little resort (for a decent price ;) ) was out of the question! Kim was able to get us in and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with! After dealing with my AAA vacations TA I didn't think it was possible for anyone to be able to communicate with me on the same Disney level but I've come up with the perfect equation that describes Kim.

DIS Boards + Disney Specialist TA = pixiedust:

Kim was incredible and even offered first hand advice about dining and touring; something that my AAA Vacations TA couldn't do! DW and I are the first ones in our families that have fallen in love with the world and once the rest of our families catch on we'll be directing them towards Kim and away from AAA Vacations! She was an absolute pleasure to deal with and she spread some much needed magic towards us.

I really cannot begin to explain how magical this made us feel last night after we kept getting told 'NO, that's not possible' by AAA.

:thanks: very much Kim! We appreciate everything!!!!

Hi all! We just got home from the World and I couldn't wait to share our experience. Our first day we hadn't even gone into the parks yet, but took our 5 year old boy to Downtown Disney, so he could see the Lego store and we were approached by a man with a big black bag and our whole party (myself, my DH, 2 DS's, mother and father in law) were given:yay: :yay: special mouse ears. The cap part is a cloud print and the ears are silver. They have an emblem which announces, "The Year of a Million Dreams, Walt Disney World, Where my Dream Came True." Throughout our next two days, when my DS's and I wore our ears, we had cast members let us into the Fastpass lanes without passes, people and characters came up to us to congratulate us, amongst other things. While it may only be a special, one of a kind hat that you can't buy anywhere, my son's (ages 5 and 1) were completely thrilled and that joy on their faces was enough for me!! Wasn't sure if anyone else had already posted about these special Ears, but I thought i'd share anyway. Good luck everyone!

we were there in January and on my BD we were given fastpasses from the dream team. We were entering the room for preboardingat fasttrack and I heard a CM say I have 57 , they shut the door and asked if anyone knew it was a year of Million dreams- I was the only one who knew! They gave us the fastpasses and then took 3 more people out of line to make it 60. It wasnt too crowded at Epcot that day, but it was cool anyway!

My family and I won Dream FastPasses at Epcot on 2/15/07.

My 2 older sons and I were on Soarin' and my dh took the little 2 on Living with the Land. As he was getting off the boat, he was approached and asked how many people were in his party (6), and gave him dream fastpasses for each of us.

We were pretty excited!

We received two dreams on our trip two weeks ago. We were told we were going to be the "First Family" at the American Adventure and given a certificate saying the same. Our family name was announced before the American Adventure attraction began and the audience applauded us. We were also given two Anniversary buttons for our wedding anniversary from the Wilderness Lodge and another certificate for the same. Also for our anniversary dinner at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge we were given two straw cowboy hats and asked to participate in a kissing contest.
We were given free cheese cake at Tuskers restuarant for our anniversary too. And many many many congratulations from cast members through the whole week. If you are celebrating a wedding anniversary or birthday be sure and tell the resort when you plan your trip.

Not sure if this has been posted yet because we just got home. Last Wednesday we were trading pins with a Dream Team cast member and learned that that day the Castle stay was awarded to an older couple at Epcot who REFUSED the prize! They were DVC members and didn't want to move their stuff! Of course the cast members tried to get them to understand that there was a 24 hour concierge who would have gotten them anything they needed, but they still passed!

We went to the World this weekend just for a "fix" and to see the P&P Party. On Saturday, we took DD's best friend (and her Mom) to Epcot and we all had lunch at the Garden Grill. When we were paged to come to the podium, our waiter (Marcus, from Haiti) told us he was going to do some magic and "called" Mickey, who apparently told Marc we were to be the "Family of the Day". OMG! It was so exciting. So, we got a lovely certificate (along with one for DD's friend with her name on it), a special appetizer brought out by the head Chef (very yummy S&S ribs and some potato soup with beer in it), and visits by the four characters FIRST in the restaurant and all at the same time. WONDERFUL pictures of Chip & Dale, Pluto, and Mickey! Then, we got to the end and got one more surprise -- a free fastpass to anything in any park good for the day! Needless to say, I'm still on :cloud9: .

Never did see the "Dream Team" but this was MORE than enough!

Just came back from a week in Disneyland. We didn't win any prizes, but had a fabulous time nonetheless. But we did see a family win a night in the MM penthouse. Not sure if they do this every day, but it was given to the first family through the gates. It was an early entry day. They let one family through and then announced their name and that they were the winners, then started letting everyone else in.

So if anyone is going soon, it may not hurt to try to be the first in line to get through those gates. There were about 12 different gates that day to line up in front of.

At the start of the parade they also had a family that won a 14-day cruise!! I don't know how they won that. I saw a ton of people with Dream FastPasses, but I never saw the actual Dream Patrol. I guess I'll start sending in my post cards and hope for a little more Disney magic that way.

We were stopped on the morning of 2/22 going into Muppets 3D. We won Dream Fast Passes. We were really lucky since the people that went in ahead of us didn't get anything. After us, we saw everyone come in the door with them. It was great to have won and really the only Dream Team members that we saw the whole trip. We had just got done explaining to my 5 yo that he couldn't ride ToT that day since the line was 70 minutes long. We had grabbed fast passes for Star Tours and then headed into Muppets. It's really being in the right place at the right time! After Muppets, we headed over to Star Tours to use the fast passes we had picked up. Who do you think we saw? Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers! My kids were in heaven. They got their picture taken with one of the Storm Troopers. When they got back in line to use the Dream Fast Passes, Darth and his buddies were gone. Like I said, right place at the right time.

We won dream fastpasses on 3/3 at Epcot. We were in the fastpass line and the dream team came through and passed out dream fastpasses to all of us. There were about 25 of us in the line. They also passed them out inside the Soarin' ride. My dh and 2 dds were with me.

We won "one of the big prizes" on 3/2 at MK. DS (11) was stopped coming off of Pirates. He was 'in the dream place at the dream time' and was chosen for EPSN the Weekend package at MGM. We (DS 11, DD 8, DH, and my parents and I) changed parks for the afternoon. We had a whole entourage of CM's escort us around MGM for meet and greet with athletes. The whole family, including my parents, had our picture taken at the ESPN sportscenter desk under the blue hat while the parade was going by! Too cool. We also got autographs from a bunch of big-name athletes (mostly football players) and several ESPN sports personalities. My mom was so cute...late in the day she said "I just over heard someone say 'I was this close to Hershel Walker' and I wanted to say 'I shook his hand and have his autograph'" But she didn't! The children and any adults who wanted to ride were escorted backstage to TOT and RNR to bypass the long lines.

The day ended with dinner at Brown Derby and VIP seating for Fantasmic, thanks to Brandon, an MGM CM who realized that we were starting to really fade in the heat and and asked if we'd made any dinner plans! I told him we'd planned for afternoon rest and Epcot evening with fireworks, so he got us a great alternative...not part of package plan, but great Disney service!

What a day! What a trip!!!

I just called my cousin who is at WDW now and they got a YOMD award. I am so jealous. I have been once already during YOMD and received nothing. This is there first time ever going and they only were in the park for one day today. My cousin, her husband, and their daughter (4) went to the window after the park closed at 7 to purchase tickets for tonight's Pirate and Princess Party and the lady gave them the tickets and said May all Your Dreams Come True. I am so excited for them. I love Disney Magic and to top it off today is their daughter's birthday who's name is Belle. I guess it helped that she was in the full Belle getup (a gift from me) with a birthday button. I just wanted to share. I think I am more excited than they were lol.

I also won a free phone call from the Disney Movie Rewards website just before christmas. It was the best little bit of magic that I could have won. I supprized my DD(10) with a call from Ariel on christmas morning just after she found out we were leaving for WDW the next morning. We did not win any dreams in the 7 days that we were down there but just getting to be there was enough. :goodvibes We plan on going in May and it really doesnot matter if we win or not. The magic is in just being there. pixiedust:

I'm finally getting back into the groove of things after our trip, and I just wanted to report what we experienced in terms of YOMD prizes.

On Wednesday, 2/21 - Early am, probably around 10:00 am, we were using our regular FPs to ride ToT and there was a hold up. We were next in line to go into the library, but they had us wait a little longer than usual. Wouldn't you know, two Dream Team CMs came out of the library we were next to go into, and when we got off the ride, we saw a lot of people wearing Dream Fastpasses.

On Thursday, 2/22 - around 10:00 am, we were waiting for Philharmagic and I noticed a lot of people with Dream Fastpasses. I asked one family where they won them, and they told me they had just won them on the Carrousel.

On Saturday, 2/24 - Our LAST day there, our last chance to win something...we were in Epcot. My sister and I were walking towards Norway from Future World, and I noticed Dream Team CMs near the boat launch. We decided it might be a good time to take a little cruise ;) . Lucky for us that we did, cause we won the lanyard and pin set!!

My friend Jen just took her family of 5 down and won a limo ride from the airport to her hotel.

We also won a limo ride. I don't think that it is an official prize, but it was nice nonetheless. It was our last day at Disney and we were waiting for our Magical Express bus. Our bus time was 8:45 and we were told to be there 15 min. early. When we arrived to load our suitcases on the bus at 8:30, the bus driver said that he was the 8:15 bus running behind and that we would have to wait. No big deal, we just sat down on a bench to wait. While waiting, a nice lady (wearing a magical express nametag) began talking to us. She asked where we from, did we have a good time, and so on. While talking to her, the original bus driver came up to tell us that he had room for us if we wanted to go ahead and go. The Magical Express Lady told him to go on when wouldn't be needing a ride. We were really puzzled and my DH and I just looked at each other. She then asked if we would like ride to the airport in a limo. Then she points to this white stretch limo. My kids were really impressed. We received a certificate and it was a nice way to end the vacation.

Earlier in the week, my DH and DS won the Year of a Million Wishes ears while riding Space Mountain. On another note, we were in Epcot looking for the Character Connection one day when a member of the Dream Patrol came up to ask if we needed help. She personally escorted us to Character Connection. We started talking about her job. She said that on some days, she is just sent out to the parks to talk to and help guests. She was not giving away prizes that day, but she was helping make things easier for guests who had questions or needed help finding things.

We just got back last night from a 5 day trip to Disney. On Friday afternoon, we got in line at Test Track. It showed a 30 minute wait. A castmember came up to us and told us the wait was actually 90 minutes. We stepped out of line to decide where to go. (I like TT, but it is not worth an hour and a half wait.) Another cast member came up to us and asked our names, where we were from, etc. She told us to follow her. We went into a "Castmembers Only" door and walked through back hallways of TT. She took us straight to where people exit the ride. She said we were the "Family of the Hour" and we could get straight on the ride. We didn't even have to wait in the Fastpass line. There was one problem. The ride was broken down. (Which is why, I guess, there was a 90 minute wait.) We waited about 10 minutes. She talked to us the whole time and was very friendly. She said she could give us a pass and we could go up the exit and ride any time during the date that we wanted. As we walked out of the building, we could hear the cars going, so we walked back in since we were there. But, by the time we got there, it was broken again. We went back a while later and it was working. We thought it was so cool that we were chosen! It was awesome!

Sorry, but this had me :rotfl2: a little...you could almost hear the annoucement..."we're sorry, but the year of a million dreams is currently experiencing mechanical difficulties...please keep your hands inside the vehicle...YOMD will resume momentarily..." hehe...;)

Anyway, cool that you won and that you got to ride it later! :thumbsup2

My daughter got a magical moment! We were at MGM last Sunday 3/4/07. DH wanted to check out all the sports stuff (I really think he just didn't want to go on TOT :scared1: , but I digress... ). Anyway, I took DD11 on TOT, figuring I could handle it - once! We were the last ones getting off the car at the end, and DD was so excited and jumping around saying how she wanted to go on it again. Just as I opened my mouth to say "....I don't think so..." the CM unloading the car (I think his name was Jon) asked DD if she wanted to go again. She looked a little startled (she later told me she thought she had done something wrong :lmao: ), but she said yeah she would. He led us to the CM door, which took us to the CM elevator and handed us off to another CM. She took us up in the elevator and asked DD if she wanted to ride in the front row, and of course she said yes. The CM took us to the front of the line, put us on row one, and then we were off again!

When we got off the 2nd time, DD said she wanted to say thank you to Jon, so she went over to him and thanked him. He had us wait for a minute while he went back through the CM door. He brought out a magical moment certificate and filled it out for us. DD was so excited she skipped all the way out the door to find her Dad to tell him all about it!

OK, so it wasn't much, but DD was sooooo excited! :yay:

We were there last week and my dd13 received several wishes. The first day we went to MGM and I was buying pins for my DN8 and DN7 who decided to start pin trading my DD was patiently waiting for them to decide what pin they wanted me to buy for them (which took a very long time). The cast member at the pin station pulled my DD aside and offered her a pick of pins that she had stashed behind the counter, and then filled out a certificate with her name on it. She also received a set of pins from a cast member at BCV, one to keep and one to give to someone else. She spent 2 days looking for someone she wanted to give the other pin to. She finally found a little girl on one of the buses we were riding, and I think that was one of the highlights of her trip. The last wish was at AK, we were waiting in line for the park to open and a couple of CM's asked her is she wanted to help explain about a Scorpin as the other guests entered the park. They put her in a CM vest and she held onto this Scorpion and talked to people as they entered the park, she was a natural.

We went on this trip with no expectations for a wish, so we were excited about the ones we did receive.

I apologize if this isn't proper forum etiquette...I am copying this from another post I made, but realize that it probably belongs here...

We were given dream FP's as we exited Thunder Mountain RR. We had no idea and was a bit surreal. They had a group of us roped off within about 15 - 20 seconds and passed them out to all that were in that area. That was about 10:15 AM.

This trip was probably made more magical by the actions of some wonderful CMs than the Fast Passes.

As we entered the MK there was a problem with our APs, but the CM was very sweet and said she would fix it. While it did take a while, she came back with new ones...and 3 "Head of the Line" passes for our family. Those are cool...any attrction or show...give the CM your pass and they take you to the front of the line. It usually requires going "backstage" which was an extra treat! We went backstage at the POTC and HM...pretty cool.

Our DD (9) got an extra dose of magic on this trip...

As I bought my mickey crocs, the CM checking us out was talking with Ashlyn. As we were leaving the CM asked her if she liked any of the pins on her lanyard. She let my DD pick one out and gave it to her.

DD has a Pal Mickey and had saved some $$ to buy him an outfit. As she was checking out (at a different store than the crocs) the CM asked why wasn't mickey with her. She told him that the batteries had died and he was "sleeping" in her backpack. The CM asked to see Mickey, looked him over and said "this won't do." He asked us to follow him to the "Mickey Repair Shop." The CM opened him up...replaced the batteries and gave my daughter a wink as he handed Mickey back over.

Great Memories...watching the magic come alive for my kids!

I have so enjoyed reading (not quite all) a lot of the wonderful stories posted here. It really makes you feel good inside. So I will share a bit to...

We took our DD4 to WDW in December and the trip was wonderful. We all wore our "1st Visit" buttons every day and were constantly being asked by the CMs if we were having a good time. It amazed me how attentive they were and just how special they made us feel. We all got several YOAMD certificates, tons of Mickey stickers and colouring sheets ( well, DD got those!!)

I wore a pin lanyard most of the time and had a great time trading. My DD had a lanyard, but it was kind of awkward for her to carry so it was either on me or in the backpack. The first cool Magical Moment happened at DTD, in one of the stores. A CM gave my DD the pink princess Minnie pin with no trade in return required. My DD was so proud of that pin that it she would not put it with her others. She wore it on her shirt and told everyone about it!!

In AK a CM asked us about our first visit and had a little conversation with my DD. He then took out the special Tinkerbelle Pixie Dust pin and gave her two!! One to keep and one to share. My DD chose to share it with me.

The day we were at MGM a couple approached us and offered us the prize they had won, which was the Dream Fastpass!! They had to leave and offered it to us to use as it was still before noon time. That was such a great moment, very special.

Last, but not least our DD was given two huge and beautiful ballons. One with Mickey on one side and Minnie on the other and one with the Princesses. She enjoyed them for two days and on our last day she gave them away to two children in our resort. It made her feel great to share, but the pride I felt was overwhelming.

Thank you Walt for creating such a wonderful place.

I almost forgot two other great things. We had dinner at the Castle, which was amazing!!! My DD wanted a photo with the Godmother, but she had a show to do and could not stop for pics. A CM came over and gave my DD a little card that was signed by the Godmother, Susie and Perla (who did stop for pics).

We had a wonderful waitress at our dinner. I asked her if I could get a menu to take home as a souvenir. She said she was sorry, but they were not allowed to do that. I said no biggie and forgot about it. Just before our dessert was served she brought me out a bag and put it on the spare chair at our table. SHe put her fingers to her lips, smiled and walked away. Inside were not one, but two of the menus, in perfect condition! They are a great souvenir of our dinner, but that is not the end of it. While I took my DD to the washroom to change out of her Cinderella costume the waitress gave my DH a box and said thank you. Inside was a glass mug engraved with Cinderella's Royal Table and the Castle! It is a gorgeous mug, kind of like a stein. It blew me away to get something that neat.

Truly a wonderful place!!

Well, we were granted several wishes last week. When my dd4 and I got off of Big Thunder Mountain, the Dream Team gave us each a Dream Lanyard with two pins on each of them. This was a fun way to start the vacation!

The next day, as we climbed on the carrousel, another Dream Team passed out Dream Mickey Ear hats to everyone as we boarded. Now we have five sets of these "ears". We wore them around the park that day, but they are made of felt and it was hot!

Those were our two "official" dreams this trip...but we had lots of pixie dust thrown our way.

We had a great table at Ohana that overlooked the Seven Seas Lagoon. We were seated at 8:30...perfect timing to watch both the Electric Water Pageant and Wishes right from our table.

DM is a diabetic and we had great service throughout the trip...sf desserts and personal attention from the chef at every restaurant! Dessert every night was a dream come true for DM!

Also, our room requests were granted at two of the resorts where we stayed (Poly and Beach Club) which worked out so well for having my parents (with mobility issues) along.

DD4 was picked to dance in the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom.

There were just lots of fun little details that made the trip special...most of it because the DIS gave us the information we needed to be in the right places at the right times!

We just returned from another great trip to WDW! We were given the lanyards with the 2 pins while entering to ride Triceratops Spin at Animal Kingdom. It was around 9:30 am on Tuesday March 6th. We saw the dream team around a lot but we mostly noticed them out in the mornings. We must have been at MK the day the previous poster got the hats on the carousel we saw lots of families with them on while we were going to the Snow White ride. I guess we just missed them!!! We went on the carousel after Snow White :) We had a great time and enjoyed the extra pixie dust around !!! princess:

We just got back and had two great things happen.

The first was at MGM on Sept 24. We walked through the gates around 1pm and were intending to go get Fastpasses for Aerosmith when we were stopped by a cast member who wanted to know if we had lunch yet and what we were up to. When we told her we were going to get Fastpasses she smiled and said, "well, you are the family of the hour so let's go get those for you!" I asked her if this was to do with the Million dreams and she said it was a "warm-up" of sorts... As it turns out, we didn't get Fastpasses, she just walked us through the exit line right onto the ride!! Then, she said she'd meet us in the picture area where she proceeded to buy us the 8x10 photo of us on the ride! Then when I thought it wouldn't get any better she gave us a coupon for two free ice creams!! Needless to say it was an amazing way to start out the vacation.

The second thing that happened was at MNSSHP on Sept 29. I went as Jack Sparrow and the wife was dressed up as Tinkerbell. We had just gotten our picture taken with Captain Hook, and after it was done he motioned for us to stand to the side and wait there. I had no idea what was going on and soon there were 4 of us there, Smee, Tinkerbell, Jack Sparrow, and Peter Pan. The cast member who was with Hook then announced - "Captain Hook has decided that he would like to take you on The Pirates of the Caribbean with him - right now!" So we followed Hook through the entire line (which was probably about a 30 minute wait at that point) He was hilarious, pushing people out of the way as we followed him in. The coolest part was that he wasn't just taking us to the ride - he actually got in the boat and came with us!!! We had a blast, singing along to the pirates song, and just having a great time!

Both of these things made the trip just that much more special, and if it's a sign of things to come I can see us booking another trip around the same time next year.....

Ohmygosh. I'm in love with your story! I already got very teary eyed in a couple of these :''(

This was my story which was before YOMD promotion. Me, my mom, my brother, and my grandma got in line into BTMRR. We had a couple of 2 in front of us so she let them in and she put her hand so nobody would pass then she began talking to me and my family asking how are trip was going? Was it just us 4? And we explained how a couple of the family members stayed outside because they were not 'Feeling good' and after a while she called out 'Anyone a party of 6?' and someone raised their hands they cut thru us and once the line was near the boarding area she raised her hand up and just as i was about to walk through with a smile on my face she said 'Ah ah ah! You forgot something!' and i looked back and said 'Did i? I think i have everything maybe it's someone elses' she reached into her pocket and pulled out these special fastpasses which were to be used in any ride at Magic Kingdom. I was thrilled thanked her, hugged her i took a picture with her (For the fun of it) wrote a letter and send it to Guest Relations. But while we took the picture we let others behind us skip us then we got back on track and went behind after we allowed 2 familys behind us skip us. It was a GREAT magical moment and it's one i'll never forget. I hope my upcoming trip in April will be as magical! :)

I have not had a chance to read through everything yet but I just wanted to share our experiances from our recent trip.

DD8 is a HUGE Stitch fan. We were getting in line to greet him when a dream team CM came over and started talking to DD8 about all her Stitches. CM was a HUGE Stitch fan as well. We talked for awhile..she was wonderful! I can't even explain how nice she was.

To make a long story short, she asked if we liked wishes. We all LOVE Wishes. She told us to meet her at the bottom of Astro Orbitor 15 mins before Wishes. At that point she asked if we would like to go on Buzz. She took us in a backdoor and had us jump on Buzz at the unloading point. We felt so special! We met her at 8:45 and we got to watch Wishes from a ledge on the castle side of the ride. It was beautiful and such a different perspective!

At the end we recieved a Magical Moments certificate.

The next day we had run to MK to complete some VMK quests. As we were leaving we stopped in the candy shop for some fudge. While we were waiting, my girls were pulled from line and made chefs for the day. They got to stand in the middle of the store and decorate Mickey rice krispie treats with chocolate and sprinkles. So much fun!

The interctions with CMs are always the best part of our trips. This trip was no exception.

A huge Thank you to the dream team CM with the STITCH blue car! You made our trip!

My 3 year old ds and I were the family of the day on the dino ride in AK (the ride that's like dumbo but they're green baby dinos). We got to ride the ride twice, were given a certifcate to take home, and a coupon for an arcade game. We used the coupon and we were given a free stuffed animal.

Freemore Just out of curiousity, why does your header have a "mad" face? It sounded like you had a "magical" time.

Here's a pretty good one. My 9 yo son, 12 yo daughter, wife and I visited Disneyworld last week after spending the prior week on a cruise out of Port Canaveral (RCCL Mariner of the Seas). It was our last day of the trip (leaving following morning), and we were pretty worn down. My son loves Test Track (not to mention that its the only fast ride my wife will go on), so we were some of the first at Epcot that morning, rode Test Track and then got a set of FastPasses for later. Went on a few other rides then came back to TestTrack late am, rode and -- as we were getting out of the Test Track car -- were greeted by four Disney employees in their white vests, and another in business attire with big smiles on their faces. We were asked whether they could ask us a few questions, and we were escorted through a door to a small room and were then -- very pleasantly -- asked a series of questions that indicated to me that they were attempting to see if we qualified for a prize.

Welllll, we did, and as it turns out, my 9 yo son -- whose diet consists mostly of Pizza, milk, PB&J, carrots and chicken fingers -- won a gourmet meal for 6 that night at our choice of either Citrico's, Artists Point or Jiko! We chose Citrico's and had a great meal that night, including special menus with our son's name on them. But the best part was, for about an hour, our family, and particularly my son, were treated like real VIPs. We were escorted up to a VIP area in the Test Track ride (above the entrance) that is apparently run by General Motors for visiting GM guests and employees (I think) where we were given refreshments, the necessary paperwork to sign, Hummer models for the kids (courtestsy of GM -- thanks) and had a nice conversation with the YOMD team. We have a picture which I will try to post later. My son was then given a back stage look at Test Track, put back on the ride to immediately ride again, and then -- when we told the team we were all too "chicken" to ride Mission to Mars, were taken over to that ride, given ANOTHER backstage tour of that ride, and then given immediate access to the "no-spin" (green card) version of that ride. Wow.

But wait -- there's more! As I said, there were four of us, but we won dinner for 6. We did have friends also visiting Orlando near Downtown Disney, but the sweepstakes rules required that every adult participating sign a waiver form within two hours of the prize award. Given the limited time, one of the members of the YOMD team was good enough to drive over immediately to our friend's hotel to get them to sign the waivers to meet the deadline. Again, wow.

As they said to us, the YOMD team is all about "making dreams happen." I can personally attest to the fact that they REALLY mean it. We are very, very grateful for the courtesies extended to us, and many thanks to Disney and the YOMD team for a great end to our vacation.

I bet your friends were really surprised too. I've said it before, and I'll say it again that I am absolutely amazed at the amount of thought/details that have gone into this promotion. Just the little things like the Hummers for the kids, the VIP treatment -- it's just incredible.

There isn't a pattern.. I was a CM/CP. Its all randomly selected on computers where all of the big prizes are given. We could randomly pick people to just brighten up their days by having them help us with little games and stuff. I actually tried to get this one little boy to help me to get a free pin. and I was like 'hey would you like to help me with something..' and he replied 'No' and walked away it was so funny:lmao:

Yes, I do have to say I agree with you there- I have been sending in since October, and haven't won a thing yet-- It's kind of disappointing, that some people win so many and others nothing- too bad they can't spread out the wealth a little better! :confused3

I actually did offer them once, but was told that people wanted to win them for themselves.

If I hurt anyone's feelings, I'm sorry. Hope you win something, too. I didn't win anything on my last visit to WDW (nor was I expecting to), if that makes you feel any better, and I sent in at least 100 postcards to get the prizes I did get. I'm hoping for the big prize, though, and am selling the small ones so I can purchase more postcards. I don't see this as rude, just practical. I do the same thing with the lottery...turn in the winnings to buy more tickets. If posting this hurt people's feelings, for that I apologize. I do NOT apologize for offering them on eBay, though.

I just returned from WDW on Sunday and can happily say that I was not at all disappointed by the Million Dreams promotion. Between Friday and Saturday, my sister and I won 3 prizes (and for all those concerned about whether adults will win prizes - we're both in our 20's). On Friday morning, we went to MGM in time for rope drop intending to head straight for Tower of Terror. I had a feeling that we should be in the first group on the ride. We were and I knew we were right as I saw a Dream CM clicking a counter as we walked through the turnstyles. When we entered the room to watch the video, there were two more Dream CMs waiting by the door. After the video aired and the lights came back on, they announced that they were going to make our day even better and that we had all won Dream Fastpasses. I was surprised at how many people hadn't even heard of the Million Dreams promotion. An hour later (around 10:10am), we went back to ToT to ride again and this time won the pins and lanyard set. I guess Tower of Terror is the place to be at MGM. It makes sense because the Dream Team can separate small groups easily and not be seen in front of non-winning guests.

The fun continued the next morning at MK when we received Dream Fastpasses upon exiting Peter Pan's Flight just after opening. We were probably among the first 20 people on the ride that morning. I'm not sure if it makes any difference to be there at opening, but in my experience it certainly helped. I saw another family at the MK later that day with Dream FP's and they said they got theirs at the Carousel around 9:15am.

In the end, looking out for Dream CM's didn't help us in the least, they were all hidden when we entered the lines for the attractions. And when we did spot Dream CM's elsewhere with what looked like full bags, they weren't handing out prizes and were usually playing games or talking to other CM's, probably trying to pass the time while they waited for their next dream giving opportunity. All I can recommend is to go to as many attractions as possible (since that's where they award the prizes) and show up early for the best chances. And if the prizes are awarded at any of the attractions, then statistically you'll probably have a better chance of winning at less popular attractions.

Good luck to all of those who are going soon!

I have been sending in postcards for myself, husband, and three children since November....at least 2 cards (one for myself and one for one of the other family members) each day. So far, we have won 2 pin/lanyard sets...one in January and one just today! Now......if I can just talk my husband into booking a trip to WDW....wish me luck!

We were there in Feb and won Family of the hour at MGM. They took us from the entrance and straight into the Indian Jones Stunt Show and sat in VIP seats up front. It was pretty cool - we all got pins and a certificate congratulating us. The people around us kept asking us how we got to sit in those seats - one man even complained to the disney staff member seating us that it wasn't fair that we could come in right b/f the show and get to sit in front. She was very polite and tried to explain to him that we had been given the prize by the dreamteam - but he wasn't liking it. He was actually pretty rude through out the show - making comments to his family about how unfair it was periodically- but I choose to ignore him and not let him ruin our moment. His wife actually looked embarassed - I felt bad for her! And he was right behind us so his seats were not bad at all - go figure! :-)

We won something... was kinda nice, but kind of feel a little guilty about it at the same time.
On our 3rd day there, we were going to Animal Kingdom and the bus service was horrible... we waited 45 minutes and all the other busses came at least three times, but not one for AK. Finally asked the bell desk about it and they said there was a problem between AK and All-Star Resorts, and one should come soon. That's all they kept saying even though we kept prodding them for the story. We finally ended up taking a taxi. :sad2:
We had a fantastic day at AK even though it was packed... took the last Safari of the day and saw animals we hadn't seen before... the cheetahs were chasing each other instead of hiding in the bushes and the male lion was awake!!! :woohoo:
We left as the park closed at 7 pm, and were discussing what to do for the evening. We decided to go swimming back at the resort, and my daughter got super excited and started jumping around all over the place. I guess she caught the eye of the two "dream team" members, who approached us and asked us a bunch of questions. Then he told us that we should come with them because they arranged for transportation back to our resort... we got a whole bus just for us back to ASMo. Our driver was a Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" era look-alike, and we felt great about getting something unexpectedly (they even set out a red carpet in front of the bus for us as we boarded, took our pictures and gave us a certificate and special mouse ears)... we kind of felt like it made up for all of the headache on the way to AK earlier in the day... but after talking about it later, thought it was a waste of gas just to transport us on this huge 40 foot bus all by ourselves, and ironically from Animal Kingdom... :rolleyes1
So like I said, we were glad to win something but feel a little guilty about it at the same time.

Yes, I do have to say I agree with you there- I have been sending in since October, and haven't won a thing yet-- It's kind of disappointing, that some people win so many and others nothing- too bad they can't spread out the wealth a little better! :confused3

Yes, what about offering them up on the DIS boards? I am sure there are more than one DISer out there who would gladly give you the shipping and handling to get a set of ears or lanyards! :)

Just FYI, I gave two pair of ears to a major teen-aged Disney fan recovering from Hodgkin's lymphoma so that he and his best friend can have them for his Make-A-Wish trip on DCL this week.

So, you see, there is much spreading of the joy around. Sometimes, it's just done very, very quietly...;)

The first day of our trip we headed to EPCOT - My mom went to go get the group fastpasses for Soarin' while everyone else went to ride Test Track. She was sitting on the boat and a CM asked who's idea it was to ride The Land as there first ride of the day. Well my mom jokingly said she was (since that is her favorite ride!) and the CM says to the boat that they can thank her because everyone was about to receive Dream Fastpasses.
As they are passing those out - My brother frantically calls my mom and is telling her that he was receiving a Dream Fastpass. He wanted to ride Soarin' for his first ride! Everyone that was standing in line to ride Soarin' were receiving the Dream Fastpasses.

When I was visiting WDW in Feb. my family was headed to the rope drop at AK and out of no where a CM came and asked us how many were in our party. We told him 9, he stops to think for a second and tells us to follow him. He pulls us aside and tell us that we get to be the family that holds the rope behind the bus to Kilimanjaro Safari. We were super excited even though we wanted to ride Expedition Everest first - we would settle for Kilimanjaro Safari since most of the animals would be awake! Anyways - the bus with Minnie, Donald, and Goofy came out and we were told that when it was time the bus would start to drive off and would we have to hold the rope behind it to guide the rest of the people the Kilimanjaro Safari. We walked all the way down and were told to follow the CM through the fastpass line. We got to ride on the first train! We also received a certificate reminding us of our fun!

That same day - My youngest brother wanted to ride Triceratop Spin. So we go stand in line and the Dream Team comes and lets us know that we were in the right spot at the right time and we were receiving the dream ears. My brother was so excited!

Has anyone sent in postcards that are PRINTED, by computer, and gotten anything? I know early on, when the rules were first posted, there was a lot of talk about the wording

"...eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a 3.5"x5" postcard ..."

I'm assuming this means non-handwritten entries will be disqualified? That doesn't seem to apply to address labels, does it? TIA!

Hi all just a quick question, if anyone knows......In the contest rules of about The Year Of A Million Dreams, can people who work for the Disney Store participate, ( I know there no longer owned by disney), just wanted to know. As I have been mailing in postcards, and didn't want to continue if this was the case. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but here's the official low-down. It's hard for me to tell, from this, if Disney Store employees are "on-site...employees of any commercial establishment at the Disney Properties." Sounds like maybe that would be World of Disney Stores at the parks?

"Void outside the fifty (50) United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and where prohibited by law. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes in the Giveaway: (a) persons who on or after May 1, 2006 were or are directors, officers or employees of Sponsor, Creata, or their respective parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies, any other individuals or companies engaged in the administration, development, production or distribution of the Giveaway and any advertising or promotion agencies associated with the Giveaway; (b) persons who on or after May 1, 2006 were or are on-site directors, officers or employees of any commercial establishment at the Disney Properties (as hereinafter defined); and (c) persons who are immediate family members (defined as spouse, or biological, adoptive or step- mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or any dependent under applicable income tax law) of any person in any of the preceding categories, regardless of where they live, or who reside in the same household, whether an immediate family member or not, as any person in any of the preceding categories. Except as otherwise set forth in these Official Rules, prizes won by a person who is a minor in his or her state, province or country of residence ("Minor") may, in Sponsor's sole discretion, be awarded to his or her parent or legal guardian, and, in the case of prizes that, in Sponsor's sole discretion, require winner verification, that parent or legal guardian will be responsible for completing the verification process and executing all "Prize Claim Documents" (as hereinafter defined) and otherwise complying with all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Minor is the winner of any prize in which the winner is permitted to travel to, stay at or attend an event, site or destination, such Minor and any guest (as applicable) must be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian on such prize and, as applicable, the parent or legal guardian will be considered one (1) of the allotted guests."

Does anyone know if the prizes are given away in the theme parks or at the resorts as well? I've read the official rules (big yawn), but it would seem that they would probably give away the most at the theme parks. Our chances of winning are going to be slim, considering we've got 2 days planned for Universal and 1 for SW. I'd be happy with one of those ultimate fast passes or whatever they are called!

Well, the slip said to pick it up tomorrow, but my super awesome mailman stopped by again on his way back to the post office. (He really is the best. I run a business out of my home and he goes out of his way to make sure I receive packages the same day).
Well, my DD5 and I were jumping out of our skin and we opened all three packages and....we won the WDW ears!!!!:woohoo:

For the people who sent in postcards, I know the official rules say 2-1/2" x 5" size, however I can't seem to find 2-1/2" only 2". Do they get exact and take away a potentially selected winner over something as minute as this?

Just curious.

They are accepting just about any size postcard that is close to the size posted in the official rules. I would say the majority of entries are on the prestamped cards sold by the P.O. as it's like getting the actual postcard for free.

When my stepmom took me in Jan on our 2nd to last day we were the family of the day!!! We were in MGM and we were in the front of the line at the gate to go in and they said out of the blue, "Do you want to be our family of the day?" We were surprised but we said yes! We got our own elevator on the Tower of Terror (just the 2 of us in one elevator) and our picture for free!! And then later in the day at one of the stores the clerk asked me a couple of questions about Hannah Montanna (my fave show on disney channel!) And I got a certificate! Then when I was in Downtown Disney I got a free sample of a slushie at the candy store! So if anyone or their kids is going for the first time go to the guest relations and ask for a first visit pin!!! Very good idea you are recognized alot around!!!!

Just got back on Tuesday. In our 7 day trip, we had the following wishes granted to us:

dd11 & dd15 got to go twice around on the Indy Speedway
Free fastpass for any attraction at AK (used it for Everest - with that and fast passes, we got to go on it 3 times without waiting)
4 sets of the "Year of a Million Dream" pins (the ones to share) - we shared with several people, but the best one was a little girl who was crying and we gave both her and her sister one each and she stopped crying and was so excited about it!
A rubix cube in our room at Pop Century
Our dd's were invited to make their own chocolate covered strawberry by one of the cm's at the candy shop in MGM - they got a certificate for this, "chef" hats and of course got to eat the strawberries they made
The best dream we got though was a private safari at AK!!! We got chatting with a cm who supervises the ride and he asked if we would follow him. I knew to say YES and then he took us the back way through the ride and asked if we wanted a regular safari ride or if we wanted a private safari!!! Of course, we chose the private one. Our cm driver had to follow the script somewhat, but she was FABULOUS! She told us so many details, like baby animal's names and secrets of the safari. It was so awesome!!!!!

We really had a magical trip!

My family (three children and two parents) has now been blessed with 4 lanyards and one set of ears!!! Up until Friday I was the only person (out of five people) that had won anything (2 lanyards and one set of ears). Then the doorbell rang and my 2 year old son and 9 year old daughter each won the lanyard/pin set---my daughter was so excited that she ran right to her bedroom and took all of her pins off of the lanyard from our previous trip to WDW and put them on the new YOMD lanyard!! I am so ready to book that trip, but hubby won't budge until "wild" 2 year old son is not so "wild"---I am not sure this is going to happen....he is used to two girls!!!! :rotfl2:

My 11 yr old daughter was picked on 4/11/07 as the winner of the "Nights and Lights" prize package (adventuresbydisney.com). She was in Disney's West End (Orlando) and sat on the "lucky bench". That's all it took.

The prize is an 8 day trip to London and Paris. $25,000 (includes $5600 for taxes). Talk about a lucky kid! This was fortunate because we were thinking about making this trip anyway.

All four of us had to sign a bunch of legal docs and releases. The Disney staff was great. They made my daughter feel like a real celebrity. We hope to squeeze in the trip this year. :cheer2:

P.S.
Considering the $$ spent on season passes, Disney hotels, lunches at WDW, closets full of Disney princess gowns/shoes/fairy wands/, $20,000 worth of Disney Videos/DVDs/CDs/cassettes, and computer games... I may actually have recouped almost 20% of the $$ I spent on Disney products! LOL

We won an extra hour in MGM after the park closed. We were in MGM on Saturday, Feb 24th and about to board the Star Tours ride when a DT cast Member put a bracelet on our wrists. When we asked what they were for, they said we would find out shortly. Once everyone in our que was seated in our "Flight craft" they announced we were winners of an extra magic hour in MGM.
At 9:30 that night we reported to the Indiana Jones Theater and were entertained by Mulch, Sweat and Shears - the landscaping band that performs frequently in MGM. Then Mickey and Minnie came out in their new blue dream attire and kicked off the dream magic hour for us. They kept Star tours, The Great Movie Ride, Rock n Roller Coaster, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and The Muppet show open for us. They also had 2 showings of the Little Mermaid, and a special dance party for the little ones at the Playhouse Disney Theater. I was kind of disappointed my kids weren't along for this trip - my husband and I did a quick 4 days without them - they would've loved the dance party.
Anyhow, we were there with about 500 other dream winners. You could easily ride a ride, get off, and hop right back on. Mickey and Minnie were there, and you could just walk right up to them and get a picture without waiting.
MGM isn't my favorite park, but it was really cool to be a part of the whole special evening.

We had a lot of dreams on our trip. It was an incredible experience, truly, truly magical.

April 10 - Anniversary card/certificate signed by the CM's working at LeCellier
April 11 - Balloon bouquet and card signed by Mickey and Minnie delivered in our room while we were at MK.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/tricia1972/100_6910.jpg
April 11 - Free dessert at Kona for breakfast that said congratulations.
April 11 - V&A gave us a loaf of Orange Date Nut Bread from their Master Pastry Chef.
April 13 - Dream Fastpasses at Dinosaur (about 9:15 am) and an anniversary call from Mickey and Minnie at Downtown Disney

The funniest thing? We were honest with everyone when our anniversary was, and the only day we didn't get a 'dream' was on our anniversary itself. Though being at Disney was quite a dream.

Dreams we gave away:
April 11 - Gave away a set of FP's for Buzz to a couple standing at the end of the 90 minute standby line
April 12 - Gave away a set of FP's for RNR to a mother and a son standing at the end of a 120 minute standby line
April 12 - Gave away the rest of our anniversary cake to a family of 5 from England

We have won a total of 4 lanyards and 2 sets of ears. Everyone in my family but me has won something :sad1: Maybe Disney is saving a big prize for me -- like a night in the castle or a DVC membership

They really oughta combine those two dreams...a DVC membership for the castle! Now that would be a dream come true!!!

I would be absolutely tickled if DW and I won anything down there! To tell you the truth I've almost completely forgot about the YOAMD simply because I'm so excited to go back!

This is actually kind of funny. My family, my sister's family, and our mom were at MK last December. We were leaving main street and I realized my two year old daughter lost her shoe. I told my family to wait while my daughter and I went to find her shoe. It was crowded and hot on this particular day. When I went to back track, a cast member stopped me and said my daughter had been chosen by the dream team. Macie is really shy and her favorite word at this time was "no". So needless to say I was pretty nervous about what they were about to do. Anyway, they took us to the front of one of the stores on Main Street. They let Macie decorate a manigan(spelling?) how ever she wanted. Of course she chose Cinderella. She was able to choose her shoes, wand, necklaus, and crown. Then the cast member gave Macie a wand and told her to say "Bibbidi, Bobbidi, BOO!" I couldn't believe it, She said it! Not only did she say it, She shouted it clearly. After she did this the cast members threw confetti all around her. Everyone clapped. I turned around and there was atleast 40 people watching. They also gave my daughter a wand, glass slippers, necklaus, crown, and certificate for her to keep. The funny part was my family was no where in sight to take pictures of it. We left to go find them and my mother started to get on to me. "Where have you been? We have been waiting for 20 minutes!" She was sorry she missed Macie's little adventure.

Very good idea you are recognized alot around!!!!

princess: cinderella14 princess:

Congrats on your win! How fun. I've never heard of a fist visit pin! Is this something you can do at all the parks?

How many post cards have you sent out already?

I bought 80, sending out 4 a day...just sent the first 4.

I really want the pins! Or something really big!

I cant help but wonder how many a day they are getting.
Would they really catch it if we send more than 1 a day?
Guess I wont take that chance just yet.

We too were very lucky...Our Spring Break trip to WDW we were touched by the dream team twice!! Once our group of ten received dream fast passes at AK and then two days later DH and DD were on the Haunted Mansion and they received the lanyards with special pins. We were very excited and felt special!!

When I first started sending out postcards, I didn't notice the caveat that you could only send 1 a day, so I sent out up to 4 a day for a few weeks. When I noticed my mistake, I dropped it down to 1 every other day for a while (thinking that may compensate for my mistake). Evidently it doesn't matter, though, and they don't keep close track of how many entries they get from one address/one name, because I've won several times. Almost all of the prizes came after ALL the entries were submitted, and came at several separate times (I assume from several separate drawings). I wonder if they just pool all the entries as they come in.

Yesterday (Saturday April 21) we won Dream Fastpasses at Animal Kingdom! We were on our way back from Rafiki's Planetwatch at 10:50am (I looked at my watch because I knew you guys would all want to know  ).

We were headed down the pathway and about 6 people were stopped right in the middle of the walkway. My husband (who doesn't like walkway stoppers) said "Excuse me!" kind of loud, and they told us that they were told to wait here, so we waited patiently behind them and not a minute later a Dream Team member appeared and announced that as part of Disney's Year of a Million Dreams Celebration we were chosen to recieve a prize and she opened her little bag and handed us all Dream Fastpasses!

It was perfect because we could only stay in the park until 2:30 that day before heading off to the airport, it allowed us to fit so much more in than we would have been able to otherwise!

It was so much fun to wear it all day! Everyone kept asking us where they could buy them.

Sorry this is kinda late, but on Jan 23rd we won Dream FastPasses at MGM. We were in line at Rn'RC and before you walk into the "recording studio" to see Aerosmith, a lady came and asked everyone in line if we were having a good time. A few people said yes, so she asked if we would all like Dream FastPasses. Most people said Yaaayyy, but I think a few people didn't know what she was talking about. :rotfl2: After DH and I got them, we had to explain it to some of them aorund us.

It was great. All day people were asking us where we bought our Dream FPs. :rotfl: And a few CM congratulated us. Too funny, because I had told DH if we win Dream FPs, I wanted it to be at MGM.:thumbsup2

We are going to DL in 16 days and hope to get Dreamed there, too. I SO wish we would win a DVC membership or a trip to one of the other parks. :wizard: Even the Dream ears would be cool.

And here is one pair of ears!

I'll let Dh and DS open theirs later!! This is too cool! I only sent about 15 postcards back when the contest started. They must somehow read the names and addresses on all of them, because why else would everyone in my house have gotten a set of ears on the same day? This is so cool , because we leave for Disney on May 5!!! Now I"ll have my special ears to wear in the parks all week! I wonder if this increases or decreases my chances of winning anything in the parks? I guess it won't matter if it is truly random! I'm SO excited about silly Mickey ears!! :dance3:

My DS just received a pair of ears in the mail today too. i let him open them and he wore them to storytime and will be bringing them to school on Monday when he goes back. I got excited as soon as I saw the name on the box and knew right off it was ears but didn't tell him that. The mailman was surprised that a comtest sent out prizes by certified mail. I hope the rest of my kids get something. I had actually stopped mailing in cards but started again today!! heck, I want something too! Maybe I'll win something while I'm down there next month. i could still go for that DVC membership....... :wizard: pixiedust:

Last Thursday (4/19), on our last day at Disney, we were in Animal Kingdom in one of the attractions where you walk through and look at the animals and birds (sorry, can't remember the name). Standing in the path was a man with a "Year of a Million Dreams" shirts on, handing out AK Dream Fastpasses to everyone. Me and three of my kids were with me and we all got them, but hubby and one son were off getting FP's for Everest. It was very cool to get something (my kids were laughing at me cause I took pictures of my FP!). If I ever figure out how, I'll post one. I had read all the posts here and thought it was strange that the whole time we were in Disney, I never saw anyone win anything. It made my day.

New Year's Day on the Star Tours Ride in MGM we got the lanyard and pins. We didn't even know about the YOAMD thing... I mean we'd heard of it but didn't know it was so "hands-on". Great strategizing by Disney... cause it got us addicted to pin collecting/trading and we spent a fortune on them that trip. Already plotting our attack for the next one!

On Tuesday, (4/23) we were at MK around 9:45 am and won dream FP's as we were walking onto Cinderella's Carousel.

Our 6 yo DD wasn't able to go with us this trip. It was just a quick day in the MK while we were down for our home inspection. We promised not to ride any roller coasters with out her. So, we didn't even use our FP's for BTMR, Splash, Space, or Stitch. We still had a lot of fun and were very surprised at the amount of attention we received over the dream FP.

My husband and 2 older sons, 11 and 8 were at MGM on April 26th, I was at MK with my 2 year old son. While they were at Star Tours they received Magical Fastpasses, but they had been there for most of the morning and had been on most everything already so they didn't really use them. The only one they did use was for Indiana Jones, but hey they are great souveniers.

Our family was at Disney World during Valentines Week. We were chosen at the American Adventure to be the First Family. We got to ride the elevator to the second floor and sit in wing back chairs to watch the preshow performance. Then we got to choose our seats first for the movie. Before the movie started, they introduced us and we stood up and waved to the audience.

We were hoping for a night at the castle, but were excited to be chosen for a small thing none the less!

My DD and I were celebrating her 13th birthday and were chosen as family of the day for Dinosaur! Sarah was so excited! We rode in a special elevator down to the ride track and got to ride in our own car (just the two of us), then when we were finished we got to go backstage and see how the ride worked and what the castmembers had to do in order for the ride to work properly. My DD was in Disney heaven for the rest of the day, saying how much cooler going backstage was than getting a dream fastpass. It really was amazing to go backstage!!:cool1:

We just got back from our first ever Disney World vacation, and it was AMAZING! We had the most magical morning, at the Magic Kingdom this past Tuesday (the same day our vacation was over). After breakfast at the Crystal Palace, we decided to go on a couple of rides we missed in Fantasyland. While in a short line for Mad Tea Party, we were all given YOAMD Mickey Ears! I went to get 2 of them personalized, and the cast member did not charge me!

Another magical experience we had was Sunday @ the Magic Kingdom. We stayed for the EMH, and the park didn't close until 2 am! It was 1:45 am, and ds4 insisted on riding Dumbo again and again. I was waiting for him and dh, but they kept riding it. I called dh on the phone to tell him that Chip & Dale were nearby, to get off the ride. They were getting off, when Chip & Dale went over to the ride, and Chip ended up riding Dumbo with my son!! It was the best!! He had a blast!!

Other awesome moments:

* We were supposed to stay at All Star Movies, and when checking in, we were told the resort was over-booked, and they were upgrading us to the Coronado Springs. The cast member gave us cash for a cab, and sent us on our way. What a nice surprise-the resort was beautiful! And we had a fridge in our room, something we would not have had @ the All Star Movies.

* At MGM, a cast member took time to talk to my son, answering all his questions about the characters. He kneeled down and had a long conversation with him, which really made ds feel special.

* At Whispering Canyon Cafe, the waitress noticed my son was singing a song from the movie "Annie", and she started singing along with him (very loud) while waitressing other tables! They both were singing at the top of their lungs! Everyone was watching them and laughing! It was great! Before we left, she rode the wooden horses with him around nearby tables.

* On Rockin' Roller Coaster, a cast member noticed that ds was not tall enough to ride and that we were doing the child swap, so she gave him a future VIP "backstage pass", good for him to fastpass the ride as soon as he is tall enough. I thought that was so sweet of her!

* DS wanted to meet Cinderella; we took him to Toon Town and he met Snow White, Cinderella & Belle. He must have charmed the princesses, because he was asked by one of them if he could be their prince for the day, and he got kissed by Snow White & Belle and had their lipstick marks on his face! He was on cloud 9! lol. They really made him feel special!

* DS and DH were both "talked to" by Crush in Turtle Talk with Crush. It was too cool!

* Aaron got to dance in Woody's Cowboy Camp @ MK. He had a blast!

I can go on and on about Disney and how they really strive to make dreams come true! Whether a prize is won, big or small, or whether someone performs a kind gesture to make a child feel special, the memories are those that will last a lifetime and they are just priceless!

Oh, jeez... does it get any better that this?? Any one of these would make a kid's (or grown-up's day) but cumulative ??? So awesome. THIS is what Disney is about, folks.

I know this isn't an "official" dream, but on my DCL cruise (I know.. they don't participate.. but still... a dream!) in Jan for my Graduation, my mother won a $200 piece of jewelry from the Gemstone Seminar! We never win anything!

Later, my mother, grandmother and I went to the Disney Music Trivia game, and I got a perfect score! The only one... you know what that means.... yup a REAL medal that had the DCL logo and "I'm a Winner" on it, as well as a really nice insulated, silver mug that said "Event Winner" on it. I never want to use it. There were ones for purchase in the gift shop that just had "Disney Cruise Line" on it, and they were $22! My obsession with Disney movie (and esp park music) paid off!

I know that really wasn't official or anything.. but... well.. still!

I've sent in only a few cards and we're going during in October, so I hope to win, but, of course, won't get sidetracked w/ it. We'll do our normal Disney doings!

Congrats to all official winners!!

We just got back yesterday! Had a wonderful time! We did not ever get an official fast pass lanyard, official dream pins or ears.. but.. my little girl did recieve lots of magic!

She got chosen by a dream team member to go throw a special penny in the wishing well and received a YOMD Certificate... very neat!

She also received a YOMD certificate for answering Soarin Trivia from the castmember at the gift shop...

She received another YOMD Certificate for putting an ornament on the Christmas tree at the Christmas shop in the MK...

Other magic included.... free pins here and there when pin trading... she was so excited to go on Soarin when they found out it was her fav.. she received 10 free fast passes to come back when she wanted too... how cool!

She rode in the front of the monorail her very first day.. got her co pilot license..

She loved riding the Grand prix race cars so much.. they could tell her excitement and gave her .. her very own Mickey license... how cute! this was the cutest!

She also got a skipper card for riding with Drew on the Jungle Cruise...

We got to decorate cookies at the WL.. they do this everyday .. b/w 4-5 atj Roaring Forks and its FREE!

Lots of stickers!

oh yea.. and the dream team gave her one sticker that said Honoary Princess of the Day... I wasn't with her when she got this.. so I didn't get much details out of my husband.. but she got more stickers and little things..

oh.. my husband was chosen to be in Woody's Roundup!

and oh yea.. my little girl was chosen to be in the Lion King Show... this was the very first time she agreed to go with the Castmember.. she gets chosen a lot but always .. always says no! She told me she had lots of fun and loves the Lion King that is why she went! We couldn't believe it!

We saw lots of people with dreams.. especially around the loading docks of busses and boats.. the dream team would pull out the red carpet and give the guest balloons and other things and take them back by themselves! How special would that be!

oh.. and the Mexico ride let us take our own boat since it was our anniversary!

Great trip.. I will try and do a report later..

oh.. I almost forget.. she got to go back stage and meet Belle after the Beauty and The Beast show at MGM!:dance3:

On our last visit we got YOMD Ears at Jungle Cruise. They were handing them out to people in line.

I saw many YOMD things given out while in the parks. However, it seems the vast majority were given to families with kids. That counts my wife and I out! Thats ok, seeing the smile on those kids faces was plenty for us!

My wife and I were given a limo ride from OIA to the POR this past October. It was a second honeymoon for us because the first one didn't go so well so my wife was in heaven. I think we also received a "congratulations" cake at Garden Grill and a "Happy Honeymoon" diver at Coral Reef (I had more a hand in doing that than anything else..hahahaha).

We just returned from wdw and Ft. Wilderness cabins what a magical trip! It was ds 6th b-day and just about every cm we passed wished him happy b-day :bday: . A cm at meadows trading post called and had Goofy sing happy b-day to him . At Trails End our cm brought out a chocolate muffin with a candle in it and a mickey b-day card, had him stand up in his chair and announced his b-day and everyone gave him a yee-haw :goodvibes . Then our last day I talked hubby into letting me take the kids to mk while he packed the car. So, we arrived right at rope drop, went straight to the carpets of aladdin and were presented with Dream Fastpasses :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ! We only had 3 hours and all the rides we hoped to do before we left (and were certain we would not get to) were on the fastpass badge. Yahoo! :yay: we can't wait to return in the fall.:cloud9:

On Monday our Final day there we got Dream Fast Passes coming off of Buzz lightyear.
The Cool thing at DLR is they are for DLR and California Adventure!

About the whole bus singing "The Wheels on the Bus" I bet you had the same bus driver we had....I think she said her name was "Lolita" if you didn't like her driving. Oh my goodness she made us laugh so hard.:rotfl: She even turned on the wipers as we sang the wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish. She was funny! Too bad my boys weren't on the bus...they had gone back to the hotel with my husband while my mom and I went around checking out each hotel's gingerbread house.

I just got back from my trip and I didn't win anything...but my DH and DS did! I was on Soarin', so Dh took our two year old son on Living with the Land (my son's favorite ride) and they won dream fastpasses when they got off the ride! Needless to say, DS couldn't use his, so I got it! We ended up not using it because we had already ridden Soarin' once each and had gotten faspases for later in the day, but it was still really cool to win! We saw the Dream Team a few more times, but we never won anything else. If DH had taken DS on Triceratop Spin one more time in AK, they would have won fastpasses there, too. My DS seems to know how to pick the right rides at the right times! :lmao:

I was hoping to win DVC, but maybe I can win that when we go back in September! :rolleyes1

Hi all,

I was at the parks last week and on the bus back to POP Century one night the driver started talking about the YOAMD celebration and how excited all the CMs are. He then talked about how the CMs would each be getting a limited number of an exclusive Pixie Dust pin that can't be traded but that they will give out to guests they see doing nice things for others. I thought that was a very cool idea. :)

My little sister got one of these a month or so ago! It's really cute!

Last month, we won Dream FPs for the Magic Kingdom. We had won Epcot FPs during our Christmas trip as well, so I guess now I can consider myself more than "one in a million."

DH had the kids with him while I scoured for clues on our DVC MouseQuest (a trivia-based scavenger hunt put on by Disney Institute) on April 17. We had planned for them to research a specific clue by taking the RR from Frontierland to Toon Town Fair and then we'd meet up at the Toon Town Station. But after I finished my Toon Town research, I decided to take the train all the way around and meet them at the Frontierland Station instead. I tried to catch up with DH via cell, but it was impossible to hear what he was saying while I was on the train -- all I could tell was that he was flustered. Turns out, DH was trying to tell me that the DreamTeam was at the Frontierland station at that very moment handing out FPs! Luckily, we were just pulling into the station at that very moment.

Without thinking, I hoped off that train as soon as I saw my Dream-FP-wearing family on the platform (WHOOPS -- just when the train had barely stopped moving :scared: and yes, I was properly chastised for it ) and begged the Dream Team for a FP since that was my family standing right there. They said I had to be on the actual loading platform to get one. So I sped down the ramp, around to the front of the station, and sprinted up to the platform. I was so nervous that they'd be out of FPs by the time I got there, especially since I figured everyone else who'd seen the crazy woman leap off the moving train would be jockeying for position as well. Turns out, no one else had a clue what I was so obviously freaking out about, and the Dream Team had a FP to spare for me before they reached their quota.

Ironically, a few days later -- also right in front of Splash -- I heard DH kick something metallic. It was one of the Goofy/Donald Dream Lanyard pins -- and its owner was nowhere in sight. So even though it was not an "official" Dream, that pin looks mighty fine on DD's AllEarsNet lanyard.

While in epcot for the food and wine festival in October - I was given the opportunity to release ladybugs from Innoventions. I know this doesn't sound like much, but when I was a kid our house use to get tons of lady bugs and my babysitter taugh me a song.

"lady bug lady bug fly away home your house is on fire your children may burn"

Anyway, it was nice and my father and I chatted with the cast member some more and I got a certificate.

Amazing that even in your 30's little things like this can move you.

Just got back from DLR. The only "official" prize we got was the Tinkerbell pins from a CM at Storybook Land Canal Boats. She said since it was our first visit, and it was mt birthday, and we were so exited to be there because the magic was different than WDW... she gave us the pins that you keep one and give one to another DL guest.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/ambersmile/100_2762.jpg
Sorry I couldn't get a clearer pic. The pin says "Where dreams come true"

Other things we got that were not "official prizes":
-a lei for me at the Tiki room for my birthday
-a piece of Mickey soap in my bag (with Happy Birthday written on the wrapper) from Basin that I didn't discover until I got home :goodvibes
-a cupcake, mousse dessert, or Mickey beignet at practically every sit-down meal for my birthday
-plenty of birthday buttons
-a birthday call from Goofy at the gift shop

Also, while at the fireworks, we started talking to an older couple who had won Dream Fastpasses. I asked if they were enjoying them and I told them about how we won some at MGM because we love thrill rides. So the lady asked us if we wanted hers because they didn't (and wouldn't) do the fast rides. However, by that time we were super tired and our feet were aching (and DH's knee got really smashed up on Space Mtn), so we said no, but thank you. :sad1:

It was a really magical trip! :cloud9:

My DH and I got married on April 7 of this year - we had an at home wedding. We went to Disney on our Honeymoon from April 8-April 15!! WE HAD A BLAST! Although we didn't receive any "official" dreams, we still had LOTS AND LOTS of Pixie Dust involved! Here they are:

:tink: At the Coral Reef, we were seated right next to the Aquarium!! What awesome seats! We also received Personalized Menus!!

:tink: FRONT ROW SEATS AT THE FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING!! Well, the CM at the door pointed us to the "first row" to sit down. However, the group ahead of us was rather large and they had a family member who was in a wheelchair so they sat down on the front row. I just felt priviledged enough to have "first pick" of the seats, so Jason and I just sat down on the second row. We were both kind of in awe and thought, wow we got really good seats....when this CM ACROSS the building started waving frantically at us. She even sent another CM to come and get us!!!! She said, "I saved you guys a front row seat!!" I was like, "US?" I guess she saw us as we walked in? But it was AWESOME anyway!!!

:tink: Then, when FotLK started, as they were breaking the stadium up into four sections....lions, warthogs, zebras, and elephants, the guy who was in charge of our section chose ME to be the ELEPHANT LEADER! Haha! He made me stand up with him and then he introduced me to the crowd as "Karen from Louisiana" then he had me make an elephant noise. OK YEAH....I had NO idea what kind of sound to make.....I so didn't make a very good noise but it was HILARIOUS and fun and I was just excited that I got picked!!!!! After I made the elephant noise, the guy said, "Well ladies and gentleman, I can assure you that you probably will never hear an elephant make that kind of noise EVER!"

:tink: While in line for KS at Animal Kingdom, the CM handed us a phone and told us to listen to the message! It was Mickey and Minnie wishing us a Happy Honeymoon!! :)

:tink: Mickey mouse confetti shaped into a heart on our table at Crystal Palace!! So very cute! And our waiter sang "Love Boat" to us! :rotfl:

:tink: CM fastpasses at Laugh Floor Comedy Club in Magic Kingdom. When we walked in the door, this guy was working the counter and I thought, "Well gosh he looks familiar". So I pointed at the guy and asked Jason if that was the CM we met at the airport. Jason said, "No that guy at the airport said that he worked Buzz!" Well, the CM saw me pointing at him and he shook his head like, "I'm not sure who you are!" Then next thing I knew, the CM was walking over to us and he said, "Oooh yes you ARE the people I saw at the airport!" and he told us that he not only works Buzz but he also does Laugh Floor and Stitch as well! He asked us if we would have another day at MK and we told him yes....then he proceeded to give us FOUR anytime fastpasses for any ride!!!

:tink: Towel animals in our room TWICE from Mousekeeping!!

:tink: Two "complimentary" glasses of wine from Moma Melroses's in MGM.

:tink: THREE Magical Wishes certificates. One from the Disney Honeymoon Registry Team, one from Cinderella's Castle, and one from the American Adventure in Epcot.

:tink: Confetti on our table at Cinderella's Royal Table, a Magical Wishes certificate, and two toasting glasses that have the CRT logo on them!!

:tink: At Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, the chef came over and started to talk to us! He was so excited that we had just gotten married!! After talking with us for about five minutes, he told us to hold on. That's when he came back and handed us two cookies and told us to tell the girl who checked us out that the cookies were compliments of Pablo!! How awesome is that?!?!

:tink: Mickey Mouse Confetti shaped into a heart on our table at Liberty Tree Tavern.

:tink: Our own special boat for the boat ride through Mexico!!

:tink: When we were getting off of Mission Space (from riding the EXTREME side), this CM who was working the back hallway saw us and asked us if we just got married. We told her yes and she gave us a few "fastpasses". She handed the to Jason and when he looked at them closer, he realized that she had given us 3 of them. He went back and told her that he thought she may have given this "extra" one to us by mistake. Instead of taking the "extra" fast pass back, she handed us one more and said, "Don't tell anyone that I gave you 4"!! She was so nice!!!

:tink: 2 Fastpasses from two CM's at MGM...they said that as a "wedding gift", she was going to give us each an MGM Fast Pass and a Mickey/Minnie sticker!! It was so cute!!

:tink: Confetti/Decorations on our table at Tony's Town Square in Magic Kingdom.

:tink: We got offered MORE fastpasses from an elderly CM in Magic Kingdom...but it was our last day there and it was night time....so he congratulated us instead! :)

And this is the best one of the whole entire week.......

:tink: As we approached the American Adventure in Epcot, this man (who worked the attraction) asked us if we had just gotten married. We told him yes and then he asked if we had received a phone call that day? All week, we had been asked that question (we got to hear the message at least 5 times!) however, we weren't going to turn down anyone's pixie dust!! So of course we said no! When the message was over, we thought that was it but we were wrong!!! The same man came over and gave us another Magical Moments Certificate!! Then, he walked us over to the restaurant next door, walked inside, and said (very loudly) to the restaurant eaters, "Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Jason and Karen are on their Honeymoon and they are sharing it with us here at Walt Disney World!" Everyone cheered, and he gave us two Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats..........then he said, "Let's give them three cheers!" It was very very cute! As we got inside of the Lobby of the American Adventure, he made us sit right on the edge of the circle in the middle of the floor. We were one of the first to arrive. After the Liberty Singers sang two songs, the "ringleader" of them all said, "Here at Disney, we like to celebrate with those who are celebrating special occasions! Today, we have a couple who are visiting us on their Honeymoon and we'd like to dedicate this song to them." The sang "When You Wish Upon A Star" and it was AWESOME!! The "ringleader" gave Jason a hard time because he didn't have his arm around me!! Hehe!

Disney sure knows how to do it right!! We had the most wonderful magical time ever! :woohoo:

We got a couple cute things:

In the Festival Center at Epcot my little sister was chosen as the Flower Child of the Day. She got a little nametag that said that with her name, a big of little goodies, and these plastic bug finger puppets. They announced her over the loudspeaker and I was harrassing her asking which bug she was going to give me (she's 7, I'm 27...it's my job...) and they asked if I wanted one. I was like, "Oh!! No!! I was just picking on her!" but they brought 3 out for me too. :rotfl: Then we both got to get our picture with a Mickey head pumpkin. She got a Magical Moments Certificate for that.

In Canada they have these Moose head hats. I was being a dork and put one on and made my mom take my picture. Nikki, of course, pulled one on her cute self too. The CM, Barry, saw us and asked if we were in the Mickey Moose Club and started chatting with us. He was Fabulous and gave us each a Magical Moments Certificate bringing us into the MMC. :rotfl2:

I don't think we had any more "official" things, but we saw a ton of characters that I, at least hadn't seen before, such as Koda and Kenai. We had a great weekend!!

My DS(9) and i went last Sept, just the 2 of us because husband was deployed overseas.

We had several magical moments, not offical but awesome, encounters with wonderful guestsFirst day we were having Beakfast at Chef Mickeys and the couple next to us was celebrating their 20 something anniversary, and we congratulated them when they got a cupcake and cm's where celebrating with them.

Apparently they briefly overheard DS say he missed daddy, but that he knew he was safe in Kuwait and not in Iraq. When suddenly the waitress came to our table and said "oh my, you dad just called from Kuwait and wanted your day to be special" as sentimental as i am i started to cry because the moment was so incredibly magical. They gave my DS a placemat signed by all characters and a cupcake too.By this time the couple was gone so i couldn't thank them at all.:sad2: But they sure made out trip special. :wizard:

At AK the following day we were told to play "find big red" game at the Harambe gift shop. My son found the hidden plush of Big Red and was given a certificate for participating, it was so cool for him, he keeps talking about it until today.

I guess Disney just inspire people to spread some magic, regardless if you are a CM or guest!:thumbsup2

Our first time at WDW was this past Christmas 2006 (family of four, two boys 9 & 8 yrs old) We got lucky twice.

First time was in Epcot Christmas - Day on the Mission Space ride. It was raining like crazy and we had the Fastpass. When we finally got in the attendant said we were the family of the day. We got a behind the scenes door of the control room, plus he pointed out some hidden mickeys to us. The best part was all the folks waiting in line checking us out wondering why we were so lucky.

The second time was at MK on Dec 27th. We were camped out in Frontierland waiting for the Christmas parade to start. My wife was wearing a Donald Duck hat and may oldest had a Pluto hat on. We were sitting by the side of the road and one of the folks with the "YOAMD" packs came up and starting talking to us. She ended up giving us a coupons for free ice cream for the whole family. Pretty cool!!

We just got back on Thursday! We won 2 significant dreams and lots of little ones. The first was after checking in at the magical express desk we were directed by the manager not to the bus line but to a LIMO!!!! Which took us directly to our resort.:wizard:

And at on the last day of our stay My daughter and I was visiting AK when we stopped 2 CM to trade pins and were asked to be in the daily Parade!!! It was son exciting for us since we were due to catch the 5pm Magical express back to the airport and the parade is a 4p. Needless to say we did make it back to the hotel in time but I thought it was a double bonus because I felt as though I was being celebrated being a single parent. It was a wonderful experience in all.

Okay so we've won 2 dreams so far!!

The first one was on our 2nd trip to WDW. We were in EPCOT and my DB wanted something from one of the giftshops. As my DM waits in line to buy it, the lady in front of her was throwing a fit because there was nobody to play chess with her son. The CM that was standing near by gave us "fast passes" for any ride in the park since we had to put up w/ her too.

The second one was on our 3rd trip (last year) when we were in AK. My DM and DB of course wanted to ride EE. So after their 3rd time riding it, they wanted me to go on. (me the girl who is terrified of roller coasters!) A CM that was standing next to us asked me if I was afraid to go on.. then she said "well let's take a look at the ride first and then you can see if you wanna go on" I thought she meant stand where you can see everyone go down the big drop, but no!! I got to go into the control room and watch every part of the ride! then i got to pick where i wanted to sit and got to go in the front of the line.. the best part is the CM rode it with me!! After it was over i got a certificate and everything. I have deffinately got over my fear of rollercoasters and EE is my new fav. ride!!!

Hi....I want to do a full trip report from my 1st WDW trip with my amazing boyfriend who organised the whole trip for us....but for now and in here I thought I'd post the details of our Magic Moments and Dream gift from Disney...

I was incredibly lucky to be able to Wake Up Tinkerbell on my first ever day in MK....hard work went into planning and it was the one thing I wanted to do and I did it!! I'll upload the video sometime soon...

In MGM Aaron (DB) and I did a movie quiz thing in a store (answer 5 questions on a board correctly - we didnt even know we were being watched!!) and were given a Magic Moments certificate

In MK we were paying to hire a locker for the day and the lady said "ok this is a magic moment for you..." and if we could guess the locker number within a hundred, we'd get the rental for free!! I guessed 240 and was within the 100 marker so we won!!

Then on the last day, we were in MK and I was so happy but had such a lump in my throat about leaving the park....we were in the Emporium and a CM stopped us to say hi and ask us how our first visit was going (before my 1st Wishes showing a CM gave us "1st visit" badges) and I said we'd had the best time ever, but it was our last day. She said to come back soon, and I told her we were planning for Dec 2008....she smiled and told us she had something for us - and gave us the "one to keep, one to give" Tink pins.....I almost cried on the spot - to get a Dream on the last day before leaving my favourite place....

I know it's not exactly a castle stay and boy those dream ears looked great and I'd have loved a pair....but I had the most amazing time and so many memories and special times to look back on and think about till next year!!

I'm not sure of the exact end date, I know it will be going on in Sept. We are going then as well and excited about the additional possibilities of magic.

We won!!! We just got back yesterday from POR for 10 days and honestly didn't even expect to see the Dream Team but we were pleasantly suprised! We won Dream Fastpasses on May 28th getting off of Big Thunder Mountain, we were so excited! Like I said we didn't really expect anything so winning anything was huge, it really was like a big honor! Let me just put it this way we started dancing and screaming, it made our trip! Also later we kept running into one of the Dream Team members, Jim and were given pirate and princess buttons and fastpasses to any attraction! If nothing else it was great talking to Jim, he was super friendly and knew everything about Disney and we saw him randomly 3 times, so it was pretty funny! So if you're in the park and see Jim from NY make sure to talk to him, he's great! I'll have to post pictures of the fastpasses and Jim later, I'm not sure how to post pictures yet? Congrats on all the other wins!!!

We just got back and only did Disney 3 days. The 2nd day as we were getting off the Peter Pan ride in MK they were handing out the lanyards with the 2 pins. So we have 4. I guess you can't buy them so I wouldn't let my DD4 trade them:) The third day we went to AK first thing in the morning, went straight to the back got the Fastpass for the Safari and took the train to the conservatory. We were literally running to catch the returning train back and I (and family) RAN right past the Dream Team. Of course, I had my suspicions of who they were so I did that glance back as the train was leaving to see that they stopped the VERY next family (they missed the train). So in the parks, the "big" giveaways are given in the morning (so you have the day/night to use them) Also take your time. Don't run past an opportunity like I did.
Good Luck.
