we went to WDW for our first family trip 9/30 -10/7. Let me just say that our biggest dream was fufilled when we drove under the arch!!!!!! My Dh and I had been planning this trip for close to 2 years and told the boys 10 days before we left...surprise! We are going to disney for your birthdays! Whoo hoo! And we celebrated our 10th anniversary where we honeymooned. A very special trip indeed.
While experiencing all of the great joys of WDW on any regular day, we did get a few extras along the way ~
Monday, Oct 2nd the boys were picked to start the Indiana Jones show at MGM. Shy as they are, my then 4 yr old had no problem yelling out 'Lights Camera Action' leaving his older brother with little to say before the music started. we got a great certificate and picture afterwards with 'Jones & Marion'
That same evening, while big brother and dad were riding the RRc, a CM noticed my youngest and I wandering the gift shop. He asked him if he wanted to come help the cars unload. He got to wear a 'jr valet' vest and we waved to everyone coming off RRC and then had to use the 'all clear' hand signal to move the car to the loading area. He was so happy to be a big boy even though he was too short to ride. and to top it off......he got a cert. for a free ice cream :)
the biggest surprise was being chosen as the family to ride in the Family Fun cart for the parade 10/3. That was a alot of fun and the pictures with the boys meeting the characters are great.
We gave lots of dust too.....I used some of our free food credits to a newly engaged couple for the breakfast one morning. And I shared lots of neon bracelets at Fantasmic. The boys enjoyed handing them out to all of the kids around us....even some moms too!
A wonderful trip for all! We too saw lots of fast passes hanging from necks. We were just happy and are sooo blessed to have been able to afford and go for so long like we did.
Everyone who is still waiting......have fun!!!!!
Sounds like an Awesome time, good to hear your YOAMD story.
nice memories mom3boystx :)
Thanks for sharing.

We had just gotten off the Disney Wonder from a Magical cruise on Thursday, and on Saturday decided to spend the day at the MK. It was a great day, and really not that busy. We didn't need our fastpasses at all. That alone made it a magical day.
Around 4 pm we were going to head back but at the last minute decided to ride Buzz Lightyear. The line was outside and we almost didn't as this would of been our first wait of the day. We stood in one place for a good 5 minutes than we started in with a real fast moving line. I think the stoppage was to set up the Dream Team!! When we got to the loading area :teeth: there was one person using a counter to count people than 4-5 CM handing all of us gifts. We got 4 beautiful pin Lanyards that say Year of a Million Dreams with two special pins. It had a card dangling from the end. We were excited that we got this along with about 100 others in line that moment. It sure is being in the right place at the right time! The kids wore them so proudly!
Since we had spent the whole day at the park, winning a fast pass would of been a waste for us as we were leaving. I guess we could of given someone their own dream but having the lanyards is great for the memories of our fun week with Disney. PS. We never win anything so we were even more excited than most!

Just back from our 10/26-10/30 stay at POP....My son received a couple of small magic moments with corresponding certificates - bowling at POP and a chance to introduce the ride at Rockin Roller Coaster - but the best was on Saturday 10/28 and we were in line at DINO in AK...we say the dream team and my heart started to beat like crazy but we get into line and nothing - then about 5-10 right behind us come in with dream fast passes and my hopes dashed.......my son loves dino and we got to AK early for breakfast so we run around to ride again and guess what we get ushered into our room and told that we are going to get an xtra hour at AK after the park closes (from 5:30-6:30) with all rides open (except kilimanjaro).......during this extra hour my son and I rode Everest 7 times in a row (we had already ridden it four times during our day - and we got stuck the first time and had to walk down - more about this in my trip report so for my son and I this was most magical....we also go a button that let people know we received a special moment and while in line later that day a little girl kept looking and pointing at my bin and I wanted to pass a little magic so gave it to her on her way into the ride....
MJ
You were at Pop too? What room number? We had the 50's bldg rm 1139 and I was looking for any LGMH's but didn't see any.
Regarding the certificates, our DS4 received 3 of them. He was Jr. Professor at HIStA on 10/26, had his hand print done on the back of a certificate at MGM's Movie Ride on 10/30 (went in via the VIP entrance) and received his last one at Expedition Everest on 10/31. He was two inches too small to ride EE, so we got a "behind the scenes" look at the video monitering system and got to see where the track switch is done! Kimberly from EE was even nice enough with one other CM to watch our son so that both DH and I could ride EE together, after we had done the rider switch.

I was quite surprised to win a wish today at Animal Kingdom. I was walking into Dinosaur, and they were kind of hurrying everyone through the queue. We proceeded to watch the preshow, and as the doors opened the Wishes crew stopped us and announced that we had all won dream fastpasses! :thumbsup2 Fortunately I didn't need to use any of the fastpasses since it was so empty today.

I think what is the coolest thing about YOAMD is that it's so random & spontanious. I mean it can happen to anybody!!!!! :cool1:
off topic: I hope they save some of those dream fastpasses for when I'm there June/July....cuz we will certainly need them then!

Just returned from WDW and did not receive any wishes, but saw many of the dream fast passes and Mickey ears. We saw the most dream team members at AK. They were all waiting when we got off Everest but then it was the group on the ride behind us who received the fast apsses so we were THIS close. It's ok though as this trip was to introduce our daughter to our favorite place. That alone was a dream come true for us.

We just got back from a week in WDW for Halloween! We were in the right place at the right time and got Dream Fastpasses in MK. We were sitting in the train station, finishing up the Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour, when the Dream Team comes walking by onto the train platform. It was exactly 11am. We walked out onto the platform and got our Dream Fastpasses! We saw the Dream Team a few times throughout our trip. We even saw two lone Dream CM's walking around at MNSSHP. I was curious what they were giving out since they didn't have the big group with them, like they usually do. We followed the first one, but he caught on to us! :3dglasses He disappeared into a cast only area. We saw the second walking down into the Jungle Cruise, so we decided that it was a good time to ride it! We were hoping he would jump onto the boat during the ride, but it never happened. We're going to have to get better at stalking the Dream Team in December. :rolleyes1 (just kidding!) My daughter also had a magic moment on our last day - she got a special pin for trading with a CM at the CR gift shop. It's on a little card that says 'Continuing the Pin Tradition'. The CM said that she displayed perfect pin etiquette. I can't wait to go back in December!

So, my Disney story of magic has nothing to do with YOAMD, but I have to share.....
I went to Florida in 2003 with my son and my dad and stepmom (dh had to work) for a week. My son was barely 3. We stayed off site at the time share my parents owned. We didn't do a LOT of Disney that trip (ds was young, my parents like sporting stuff more than touring - they played a lot of tennis). But, we did one day at MK, one day at MGM, and visited some of the resorts (AKL was the most memorable), and hung at downtown Disney. And, planned a character breakfast at the Beach Club. Rest of the time we chilled at the resort, swam, etc.
So, the day we went to MGM, when we walked in, a CM asked me (very politely) if I would answer a few questions. SURE!! (I love to talk lol). She asked me a few screening type questions, and then asked me if I would like to take a survey that would take about 45 minutes later and they would give me $75 disney dollars. Heck yeah!!!! (Parents could watch DS, and I could pay for our character breakfast the next day!).
So, I showed up at the appointed time at the designated spot (several hours later), and the CM told me they had wrapped up the surveying for the day. I was like, "Oh. Ok. Thanks anyway!" The CM was like, "Wait! Here is your $75 in disney dollars!" I was shocked they were giving to me anyway. Paid for our breakfast though!
I thought that was so classy.

What a great thread this is! :thumbsup2 I have to say I hadn't even heard of this prior to stumbling across this thread. I was excited about our trip from the second the date was set but now.... I'm even more excited. I love all the ideas you have given. I too, will bring something we can give away to others. My sons will love that. :cool1: Not sure what I'll find yet. I also have no idea what all these pins are about. Or a lanyard. I have alot to learn. I'll keep reading. Heck... I'm only going in April so by then I should be quite informed on everything.
I'm not telling anyone about this YOAMD because I don't want them going there expecting something extra. Besides... I want to see their reaction if something happens. I know my boys. If I tell them ahead of time, they'll be on guard the whole time. Plus... they may end up becoming CM stalkers. :rotfl:
For the safety of all CM's out there and out of deep concern and respect, I assure you that my boys..... will know nothing. ;)
As for me..... well, time will tell. I can't promise anything. *ahem* :teeth:
Friday morning I was one of the first to board a Tower of Terror elevator at MGM..everyone in our group was awarded a Dream Fastpass for the day! Very cool (although the crowds were so light you did not really need a Fastpass!). About half an hour later, I wandered into the Walt Disney historical exhibit where I was awarded the special lanyard with YOAMD trading pins! I really could care less about the pins but it's always fun to feel like you have won something! I enjoyed seeing lots of guests being given prizes and families being selected to lead parades, announce shows, open parks, etc. Wishing everyone some pixie dust!

On Friday I went for a day trip but I only saw about a dozen people with YOAMD lanyards, 5 with the ears, and 3 with the Dream FastPasses. I did see a few lone CM's with messenger bags, but I couldn't tell if they were the Dream Squad or not.
I only went to MK and EPCOT, maybe they were giving wishes at MGM or AK that day. I had fun just being there! :goodvibes

Really??? I was sort of hoping for a free DVC add-on or renewal of my AP which expired yesterday :confused3 ! But I didn't EXPECT anything so even small giveaways were a nice surprise and much appreciated!

We just took our 4 year old niece on her first trip to The World. She was very excited and had a lot of fun. We saw loads of characters and she got lots of special attention.
We were told at Epcot that since it was her first visit that we should stop by guest relations and get a button for her that said "1st Visit". So we did just that. It was also our one year anniversary trip and we both got buttons as well.
These buttons were amazing! Here is the list of Magical Moments we had:
We picked up our lunch after ordering one day in AK when we were given one of the huge cupcakes that Tinkerbell made. Our niece was in heaven that Tink did this just for her.
Everyone made it a point to acknowledge her 1st visit. The cast members were great. The characters would even point at her pin and give her a thumbs up or comment on it.
We were in a the candy store in Frontierland yesterday and one of the cast members asked me if it would be okay for her to give our niece a piece of chocolate with a certificate for her special moment. Well, of course it was okay. Again our niece was thrilled.
Last night we were in Epcot, near the Nemo ride, and we got two Mickey ice creams. Well the vendor saw our pins and told us to put away our money. How nice of him! We had a nice conversation as we had our special treat. He was so much fun to talk to.
My husband was getting a beer at the American kiosk in Epcot last night and the cashier gave him a second one to give his wife. It was so sweet.
At the Crystal Palace there was a heart made from Mickey confetti there on the table waiting for us. We packed that up for our niece to take home.
At Chef Mickey's we were given placemats, signed by the characters, that also said Happy Anniversary 2006 on them.
At AK one of the character assistants asked our last name and made a big announcement to anyone who could hear her about our anniversary. Everyone around clapped and said Happy Anniversary to us.
No, we didn't get any ears or fast passes, but I wouldn't give up anything we got for them.
It was a truly magical trip for all three of us.

I know this is off topic but our first trip is in 12 more days. Dsnydi, you mentioned something about going to guest relations to get a button that said 1st Trip. Can you PM me and tell me more on that, that's the first I've ever heard of such a thing, DS9 would love it, me too. TIA!!!
What a wonderful post disnydi :)

Gald to hear that you had a great time. Disney World isn't about winning huge prices but it's all about those magical memories. I get so excited when I read about everyone's magical moments and can't wait for March to get here.
I am going to make a note to get my sons pins that say 1st visit on them, I knew that you could get pins for other occasions, but not for that. :cool1:

We just got home from a 9 day trip. We received the magical mickey ears after the pre show of Tower at MGM. Got the fastpasses for Epcot. Was selected to be the test Family for Soarin. We got to ride twice just the 3 of us. Super cool. My daughter got a pin at a trading station, was asked to leave her had prints infront of the Great Movie ride and then all 3 of us were taken in the exit and got to ride in the front seat, with out waiting in line. Had a wonderful trip.

DH was going to go on ToT but his stomach wasn't feeling to good so he opted not to do it. As someone else had mentioned regarding the small magical moments, we weren't looking for the big prizes either. I actually had forgotten it was the YOAMD  . But I guess that was good (and in our favor) because we did receive the dream fp's at our first day in Epcot. Our DS4 also had his handprints done in front of the Great Movie Ride. Although when he had it done, the line was next to nill to ride it.
All in all, our DS received three Magical Certificates and I have already emailed Guest Relations about our experiences (including the dream fp's) and thanked them for making our first family vacation very special.
You know, I wouldn't have minded the bigger prizes. But overall, it was the smaller prizes that made our vacation more "magical" for us :cloud9:

Back in Oct. my entire family and I were at DW celebrating my nieces 18th birthday. To celebrate her big day we went to dinner at MGMs Prime Time Cafe, of course I called ahead to make sure they knew it was her bday. The waiter there was so much fun, he really got involved with the family as well as making my niece fell special on her big day. After the wonderful meal and as we were about to walk out the waiter stopped us and gave us all Honorary Disneyworld Citizens buttons. It was so great, CM would notice them all day and on certain rides would usher us up to the front. It really made the trip special. I can't wait to go back in January to see all the other special wishes granted to people.

We also just got back from nearly a week at POFQ. I hadnt said much about YOMD to my DH and DD14 before we went so no one would be disappointed (but me!) if we didnt get any dreams. We got lucky tho and had several magical moments:
First Family at the American Experience--taken upstairs to sit on the family chairs and watch the band before the show. Got introduced as First Fam, then were taken into the theater to pick where we wanted to sit. Got a certificate.
Standing at the rope for MGM got picked to ride TOT before anyone! I dont go on that but did get to go inside for the first time ever and see the pre show, etc, then waited while DD and DH rode twice in a row, alone in the car, that was cool!
Given YOMD lanyards with YOMD pins, inside the history of Disney exhibit at MGM. Almost didnt go in but the cast member enticed us, so Im glad we did!!
And then at CG, on my Bday nite, Sat 11/4, sat at a window table, and ( I was wearing a bday button), they took our family picture, and gave us a nice copy and picture of the castle during Wishes. Also nice. And got free lava cake dessert, with a Happy Bday from California Grill in chocolate.
So all in all, it was pretty magical. The whole time was a blast, but these added dreams made it really fun.

DD and I just got back Sunday night from 5 nights at POFQ.
Didn't win any prizes. When we were loading for Star Tours, I did see the "Dream Patrol" hanging around with a big, big bag. But we were on gate two and they went to gate three. We hung around after our tour to see what they won and got to see everyone come off the ride with their Mouse Ears!
We saw lots of Dream Fastpasses.
My daughter (13) did get the Pixie Dust pins awarded to her! We were at Downtown Disney at the pin trading store. I was sitting outside and didn't get to see. But apparently she was looking at the pin trading board and there was a little girl there looking at the pins. The cast member explained she had to have a pin to trade on the board but she didn't have any. DD gave her two of her own traders! The cast member was very nice and told her he's never seen anyone do that so he gave her a certificate and the pin set. I know I've seen adults do that but was proud that she did that herself!
She didn't see a chance to give away the extra pin but we'll take it back after school is out next year!
A great trip but sure would have been nice to win that DVC ownership! Oh well, there's always next trip!!

My boyfriend and I were chosen as the "family of the hour" or of "the day" (can't remember which one) at Flame Tree Barbeque in AK this past week. They rang a cowbell and announced that we won to everyone in line and gave us a big cupcake...it was delicious and we really enjoyed it!
I thought it was nice that they would choose us (a couple in our mid-twenties)...I assummed it would only be families w/ kids...guess I was wrong! :sunny:

Does anyone know if you can make / request your own dream? Every time we go I always request to see Maleficent and get a picture or an autograph with her!
The last time we were there, we went to guest services at MK and they did make several calls and told me to wait for the parade for her apperance. I did get a really good picture of her. I was shaking my finger at her like she was bad and she gave me an evil look! It was perfect! My husband got the picture of me shaking my finger and her giving me the "evil eye". :stir:

Yes, I am 32 and turn into a 6 year old everytime I go to Disney!
Well isn't that a prerequisite for admission into the park? I could have sworn that was written on the back of my AP. ;)
"Anyone over the age of 10 must dispell all notions of reality, delve into a realm of fantasy, act like a 6 year old on the first day of summer vacation and eat as many Mickey bars as their tummy can handle"
Well....it should say that if it doesn't! Pretty much sums up our family the second we set toe on property.
Mmmmmmmm....Mickey bars!

We're just back so I thought I'd share our experience at Epcot 11/1. We kind of got a late start that morning so we headed over to Soarin to get fastpasses. The standby wait was less than 20 min so we decided just to get in line. While we were in line the CMs started telling everyone they were taping for the Thanksgiving Day parade show around the corner in case anyone didn't want to be taped. We started to que up and we got the front and center row :thumbsup2 then the Dream Team came in and gave everyone the special mouse ears. After we were seated they were still taping so we might be on when the parade shows Thanksgiving Day.
The four of us adults had a blast wearing our special ears for the rest of the day. We were asked all day where did we get our ears. This was our first trip without kids and the first trip for the other couple with us.
No dreams yet but 2 CM's with the black bags have spoken to us with no goodies. But having a great time none the less. Today was my wives Birthday, and my son was wearing a birthday button as well. we ordered three ice creams from a stand behind the castle, the CM only charged for one, I exclaimed but we purchased 3... She said yes, but it's there birthday, it's free for them. That was cool. And having the CM's wishing them a happy birthday all the time is really cool. My DS is loving, and the DW always loves this place. My other DS and I are jealous. Disney Magic no matter what...

Whilst we were there, we received the YOMD lanyard whilst waiting in line for the star tours ride.
DH received another lanyard whilst in downtown
The best bit came on our last night in MK. A cast member asked my little boy if he could go up to one of the other ask members and make her smile by saying how are you doing!
He did, this and received a button making him an honourary member of Walt Disney World. He was made up. He kept touching his button all through the fire works.
Then when we were walking up main street, he said "Mummy this is the end of my holiday and lots of magical things have happened to me". I was close to tears. That's what Disney does best. He's 7.

I traveled solo over Halloween, and i got 2 Million Dreams awards, about an hour apart in the same day!!
First I received the fast pass card for all the rides at MGM, i was in the que line ready to see the preshow for RNR, and they gave them out to us. Since MGM was not busy that day, i didnt get to use the fast passes, but it was cool that i won.
Then i went over to Tower of Terror, and was in the preshow room, and at the end of the Twilight TV part, they all gave us the lanyards with the 2 pins! Man was i stoked!! and very lucky that day!
Those were my magical moments!!
Here is my picture of them, also i'm with Mickey and Pluto in their new duds!!

We were there for our first trip 10/29 - 11/5. My daughter and I were in Innovations at Epcot on 10/30 and received Dream Fastpasses. Husband and son were off riding and very upset they missed it. However, on 11/3 the whole family got them in Animal Kingdom while walking through the Jungle Trek. The Dream Team lady said it's very unusual for someone to get them twice. :wizard:
We were also chosen as the First Family for the monorail. We received a cerficiate, co-pilots licenses, stickers and they stopped the monorail to take our family picture in front of the castle.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at POFQ. We weren't sure what to expect after hearing about the YOMD. It turned out to be the most magical time we ever spent at WDW. The first day was a typical day at AK and EPCOT. Saw a few people with Dream Passes.
The next day on 11/7 we got to MK early. We thought it opened at 8 a.m. but it opended at 9 a.m. The CM at the turnstile said that only people with dining reservations were allowed in. We shrugged it off and decided to go take a few pictures and relax. We were in front of the Main Street Station taking pictures of our kids when a CM walked up and said she wanted to be in our picture. We played around taking pictures of her with our girls. Then she said to follow her. She took us through the turnstile and started talking to other CMs. She kept telling other CMs "They don't know anything". She put us on one of the old cars on Main Street and two CMs gave us a tour of the park with no one in it. They let us take pictures of the empty areas with our kids in them. Then they took us back to Toon Town. A few minutes later about a dozen characters came out to play with the girls. Mickey, Pluto, Stitch, Alice and many others that I have never seen like Clara Bell Cow. They all signed a certificate and took a group photo. We then all boarded the train that was parked there and rode to Main Street. We were told on the way that we were going to be the MK Family of the Day and would help Mickey open the park. Meanwhile, all of the characters played on the train. Stitch was especially out of control, jumping over seats while the train was moving and roughing up other characters! The kids were hysterical. We were given oversized confetti and given instructions about what we would need to do when we got to the main entrance. They introduced us along with Mickey and we did a countdown. After the opening we took several pictures and they gave us a voucher for free photos along with Honorary Citizen badges with Keys to the Kingdom on them. We went back to the turnstiles after the opening to thank the CM who chose us. She was so happy we had fun and then gave the girls each a Tinkerbell pin. The magic continued for days as people spoke to our girls in all of the different parks when they recognized them from the opening. They felt so special. :wizard:
If that wasn't enough we received Dream Passes and YOMD lanyards with pins in MGM Studios. We also were chosen in Le Cellier to be the family for the day and were seated at a special table with activities, decorations, crowns and a certificate signed by all of the staff there.
It was a truly amazing trip. We saw lots of people throughout our stay with passes, ears and receiving special recognition. I hope those of you who are going soon get some special magic when you are there!
I tried to attach a picture, but the board says that I may not post attachments. Anyone know how I can get this turned on so I can put up a picture of this??

We were in room 3458 with LGM everywhere......as well as a notepad on my door - we were in the far corner on the 4th floor so not too much traffic...
Melissa
Ahhhh. We didn't check out the rest of the resort. We just went from our room to the main building. That's why I didn't see anyone (except for one). I even went to one family who had plastic LGMH luggage tags and said, "ahhh, the first LGMH I've seen" and then asked if they were on the DIS boards. I got the strangest look like I was crazy :rotfl2:! I didn't know there were LGMH luggage tags out there. Oh well :rotfl:

Thanks Cass for the tip. I posted this as a new thread "A BIG Dream - Family of the Day" under the YOMD section. I also figured out how to upload pictures so I attached some photos in that thread.
Wow, Mr. Bubbles!!! What a thrill for you and the kids, and memories to last a lifetime! Hearing that you got to meet characters that you don't usually see makes me a little more hopeful that my dream might be granted. My DD2's absolute favorite character is Tink. I know she doesn't make appearances, but who knows during the YOMD!!!

We were granted two dream wishes on our trip last week. It was our last full day, and in two years we had yet to ride soarin...lines too long. So we got up early and were rushing there at the opening. As we were racing past Imagination (Figment) there were some cast members outside saying that it was the place to be. We looked at each other and thought "no way". They responded to trust them, so we did. We were each given dream fast passes for EPCOT for the day. (One fast pass for each ride at any time of that day we chose). So we used our regular fast passes in the morning and returned with the dream passes in the evening. Needless to say, with fp and parent swaps DS(6) was able to ride Soarin 4 times that day.
The next morning (last one) DS6 and DH were hanging out in the 100 acre woods while DS1 and I were doing small world. By the time we made it back to them, the kids were named honorary members of the 100 aw and we were all given front of the line priv. for the Pooh ride (unfortunately DS1 fell asleep on small world and did not wake up until after the Pooh ride).
We were definitely blessed this week.
Thanks WDW

I just got back with the family from a fun time at 'The World', but we did not get any real Million Year special treatment.
The only things we did get was..
at Primeval Whril we were on the Fast Pass line and the CM who would normally collect the Fast Pass said we could just go on and re-use the Fastpass. We ended up giving away the Fastpasses as my daughter was not interested in riding again (her first time).
The only other somewhat special thing that happened to us was the Fastpass machine at TestTrack gave us an additional fastpasses for Mission Space (and this happened twice for a total of 8 Mission Space fastpasses). My children are apprehensive about going on Mission Space so I gave those away as well (but the kids love Test Track).
I was suprised how few folks has the lanyards / special ears / special fast passes. I would guess less than 1 in 100 have one of these Million Dream prizes. Maybe something like 1 in 250.
In fact I only saw the "blue shirts" about 4 times in the 6 days I was in the parks.
There also was an instance when I was in MK's Guest Relations well after the park was closed (as we went for a late Dinner @ Liberty Tree) when my 4yo daughter was wandering around outside with wife when one of the "blue shirts" gave my daughter some Mickey Mouse stickers.
So while our trip was great fun... I was hoping to get one of the special prizes. Maybe next time (I am thinking about a trip in late August).

Just back form Disney and we were awarded the dream fast passes for the day at MK (11/4)! It was awesome!!!! In line for the Carousel ride, they took the next 25 people in line aside and gave us the passes. They were good on most of the big fastpass rides. What a great surprise! :cool1:

Just returned from a 6 night stay.
We saw the "blue shirts" at almost every park.
Saw them in line for a Nemo Musical sneak peek, but my family didn't want to see it. :confused3
Saw lots of folks with DreamFastPasses, a few with lanyards and ears.
Our dreams weren't YOAMD related, but we did get free/comped take-out dinner at ESPN when there was a string of mix-ups.
We received 5 MK fastpasses for each of us, when we told a CM that the Disney site had SpectroMagic listed on it for a night we went to MK for that only. It didn't take place. I wanted to inform them so that they could keep track of the site better. Imagine all the other people that planned around it. The City Hall CM even made something special happen that will definately guarantee a future trip!
But the best Wish/Dream of all:
We moved this year from the place where my kids were born and raised. My DD14 is very sentimental. We watched the Wishes fireworks from CG one night. She was crying about missing her old friends.
The next morning, she received a text message from her best friend from Ohio. He had recently checked his email to find DD had mention going to Disney. His family happened to be on their way too! He text messaged her and she became hysterical. Crying laughing. Neither one had really known or planned this. It was a surprise to both of them. They had an opportunity to tour MK together.
DD told me, "Mom, during Wishes, I made my wish that J had been here with me!" She was totally freaked out. It was the best Dream we could have wished for. Talk about Disney magic! :wizard:
Wow, what a special thing to happen for your DD and her DF, how wonderful (and magical!)

My cousin and her boyfriend got 3 YOAMD things (one official and 2 unofficial)
She got the Dream FASTPASS at MGM while waiting for Rock N Rollercoaster.
They also got a special thing, while riding Test Track, a un-uniformed Cast Member was riding with them and identified himself as Public Relations, and they talked about the ride. They also mentioned being from Red Deer (halfway between Calgary and Edmonton) and he said he was from Medicine Hat, which is in AB as well. Afterwards, my cousin said to her boyfriend "Let's do that again", and the CM said "Don't go too far". He then took them to see the control room of Test Track, and let them skip the line.
Also, when they went to buy their photo of Test Track, they got a free frame.

DCA_MillionaireFreak: Good to see another Calgarian on the boards! What is the best way to get cheap WestJet flights direct to Orlando? We're heading down on United because they were the best at the time when we were reserving, but now WestJet looks pretty good. We're paying ~$600 CDN/person return (April 29, 2007 to May 11, 2007). I saw that sometimes fares can get as low as $165/person one way.

Just returned yesterday. When we arrived we upgraded to the concierge level which was awesome. So after that I was content not to win anything else. The parks for really crowded for our 4 night trip and we saw a few people with dream lanyards and fast passes and even a few with mouse ears. Whenever something weird happen on a ride I would think that it was because someone was winning something and yet I saw nothing.
However on our departure day we ran to Magic Kingdom to hit the fantasyland rides that we missed. After out first ride (Peter Pan) the attendant said "Congratulations you won" and were given the "Year of a Million Dreams" Lanyard with two pins. We were very excited.
Another magical moment was at dinner at Cinderella's castle when the couple at the table next to us got engaged. It gave my husband and I a chance to talk about he proposed and how different that was. :)

This is the reason I love Disney so much - because they seem to go out of their way to make you feel special, even without special promotions. My husband and I went to Disney World on our honeymoon and it is unbelievable the amount of special treatment that we got! We wore our bride and groom pens and so many small things happened - we got free desserts, we got to be volunteers in shows, housekeeping decorated our room (we had bride and groom Mickey hats so that tipped them off), special treatment at shows, etc. We were truly made to feel special. My husband had initially agreed to go as a concession to me, but when we came back home he told everyone getting married that Disney was where they needed to honeymoon! I am so excited about going back this Feb with our DD(1) to experience more magic!
I agree! We went for our honeymoon and we were treated like royalty! Every time we go- we've always had those "extras" that make a WDW vacation better than anywhere else- I think the CM's have always gone out of their way to make every Disney trip a magical experience! THat said- I hope I get one of the wishes on our Feb. trip!

I was at the Contemporary between 11-11 and 11-16 for a convention. At check-in, I was given an upgrade to a suite with a view of MK - fantastic fireworks show every night and even had to go on the balcony. Not sure if the upgrade was a part of YMD or not, but it was completely unexpected. Went into the buisness center to check email and was not charged the standard $10.00 - again not sure if it was YMD or just the lady being kind, but again it was completely unexpected. Went to MK one afternoon and had a ball - saw the "prize guys" and they were truly being stalked. Had a great convention, booked my family's summer vacation and got a great deal! I was expecting anything less than a great time (even if I was by myself) and I had a ball. Disney just knows how to make you feel special and at home - there truly is no other place like it on earth.

Not from the 'Dream Team', but we had the most magical time at Epcot last Saturday 11/11. We went for EMH and were maybe the 5th or 6th family in line at Test Track waiting for the rope drop. A CM was walking down the line talking to folks and I happened to notice that she was from my home state. I pointed it out to my DS7 and we started talking to her. After a minute she asked our family to come out of the line said we were the 'first family'. We went into TT and were the first riders in a car by ourselves. My DS was psyched since TT is his fave ride at EP. When we were done, she was waiting and asked if we wanted to ride again without getting off!! We said sure. After our ride she gave us a free picture of us on the ride. She asked my DS 'what do you want to go on next'? He said Mission Space--so off we went with this wonderful CM. We got to go in the control room and then on the ride--we chose the mild side. She told us all kinds of interesting facts about the ride--it was awesome. Then she walked with us to Spaceship Earth and then to Soarin' where she was able to get us fast passes!!! It was truly a magical morning thanks to this wonderful CM!! :thumbsup2
trip length 11/6 to 11/13
DW & DS9 both wearing birthday pins, free ice cream at ice cream cart MGK
2 YOAMD memory certs. for DW & DS-9 for their birthdays
DS-4 was w/DGM while we (DW/DS-9/me) went on on Test Track. CM challenge DS-4 with remote control car race, got YOAMD memory cert. for it
CM had my 2 DS's 9/4 challenge each other to a game of Joust video game. DS-4 won, I helped on the wing control, he received the YOAMD cert and a small put it together yourself car, he was asked to share it with his brother.

Sunday, Nov 19 (Today) - We won this morning at Test Track! After we were all funneled into the "holding area" the doors shut and the CM said "We are from the Dream Team!" Of course I was SOOOO excited...even before I knew what we had won!
We won VIP fireworks viewing for tonight and then EPCOT to ourselves for an hour after closing! They gave us special armbands and a special pin to wear. I was just excited to witness anything from the YOAMD!! :rotfl:
I did think it was funny that most of the people seemed to have no clue what the CM was talking about - even after they were done passing the stuff out people were like "now WHAT is this for?" It made me realize how important the DIS boards are! I immediately told my husband that NOW I HAVE SOMETHING TO POST! :rotfl2:

was it really only your family and no other guest?
No, it was everyone who received the pin and armband throughout the day at Epcot. I think it ended up to be at least several hundred people. Here is what happened (don't read if you are going soon and want to be surprised if you win):
We met at the designated spot and watched the fireworks. It was very nice to be that close but I'm not sure our view was any better than other places. Then we waited about 20 minutes and the doubledecker bus with Mickey & Minnie showed up. They announced it was time and we got to go into the park for an hour by ourselves (us and all the other people). Most of us went to Soarin'...and guess what! We waited and waited and it broke down! So, we didn't get to ride anything on our special hour :rotfl: BUT we were excited just to have experienced everything else so it was no big deal to us but there were some UNHAPPY people!!

We didn't get a dream but one of the cast members tried to get one for my nephew. We were getting on the train to go to Rafiki's Planet Watch and he asked if he could ride in the engine. A cast member asked me what he wanted and I told her. Then she went and asked one of the cast member's working there if he could ride up front. Well, they aren't equipped for that but I thought it was nice that she asked. I don't know if she was an official "dream giver" or not. Then one night we were at Epcot waiting for Illuminations and my sister had staked out a spot on a bench by the boat dock in front of Monocco and a cast member asked if she was waiting for the fireworks. My sister said that we were and the cast member said that she was going to try and do something for us. Sure enough, just as the fireworks were starting she came and got us and let us go down on the ramp to the boat dock. We had to stand up but there was no one else there so we had a great view.

Nothing
Only day we saw people with YOAMD fast pass or the Mickey hats was on Friday the 17th--very rare afterwards to see people with these--perhaps also it was cooler weather-wise and people were bundled up?
Another Disney guest at Epcot handed us two of there Mission Space YOAMD fast passes--so we used those.
We had DDP as well so they couldnt have given us any more food.
We didnt book because of the YOAMD but would have been nice to win something.
I don't know but it doesnt seem that WDW is ingraining this YOAMD into the CM's culture? Is it being stressed? 'Remember today to give 3 free popcorns or whatever?'
The Air-Tran Stewartess did give us an extra bag of peanuts so that made my day

Just returned from a trip this week. On the 20th, while waiting in line for Dumbo with our DS, my DH and everyone else in the front of the queue about to board the ride received a YOMD fastpass. It was a crowded day at the Magic Kingdom, and the fastpass made it so much more enjoyable and easy to take our son on the rides.
That's great Maggi May, you must have been thrilled :)

Just back last night from a very exhausting week @ WDW & wanted to share some magic.
We were in line for Jungle Cruise and they were filming for something, rumor has it for the Christmas parade, Jenny McCarthy (sp?) was there with crew and we were given Dream Fastpasses for the day! What a wonderful treat!
Later we got to ride in the front cab of the monorail which was very fun.
We stayed @ WL and were blessed with a room from which we could see the fireworks at MK. (We did this on a couple nights - I said it was an exhausting week!)
At Epcot we were standing outside Test Track discussing whether to ride (long line!) and a CM gave us Fast Passes. We still had to wait awhile but not nearly as long!
On the flight home, my DH got a free beer. Not Disney related but still nice! :drinking1
It was a good week!

We were at disney in Sept. 9/19 - 9/23
The promo had not started yet, but we got to see them take down the gold from the castle. Also the night we stayed to watch fireworks a CM Security officer told us to watch the closing. He told us all about it. Disney does not advertise this, but it is so cool. They close the park with a light show on the castle.
The last night we were there was my dd birthday. We were walking out of the MK and missed the balloons. I went to city hall and talked to a CM guest relations manager. He told my dd to wait and he would see if he could track a balloon down for us.
Well we waited for about 10 mins. He came back and told my dd that he could not find her a balloon, but he brought her a set of princess mickey ears. I asked him how much I owed him, and he said " dont worry about it, Mickey said that this princess could have them"!!!! Then he told my dd Happy birthay princess.
Kaylee about died. She was grinning from ear to ear, and told him to tell Mickey thank you..
It made our trip so special!!

We received the Tinkerbell pin set from a really nice CM, after she learned that we had given away our Fantasmic Advanced Seating Pass because my DH fell ill at the park. She also got us a private ride back to Pop. There is a blurb about it up on AllEars as well, that you may have read if you surf there.

:thumbsup2 My son and I were at Disneyland on September 30th for a long weekend break. We didn't know anything about the YOAMD promotion that was to start the next day. While we were in line at Star Tours (my son's favorite ride), we saw a couple of cast members struggling to get a large metal barricade through the doors. I reached out to hold open one of the doors and they were able to get the barricade through. They thanked me and we went on in the line. As we got into the the part of the line that goes into the building, one of the cast members that had been struggling with the barricade came up behind us and told us he was following us onto the ride. I said great and we continued on down the queue. A short time later, he stopped us and started explaining the upcoming YOAMD and that the cast members would be giving out little gifts. He handed me a set of matching pins and explained that one was for me and one was for me to give to someone else I saw showing kindness. I was so surprised. Unfortunately, we were leaving after that ride and that was the last of our Disney weekend and I was unable to give my pin away. I look forward to taking it with me on our Christmas Vacation to WdW in a few weeks and will be looking for just the right person.

Im going in about six weeks but I wanted to relate something that happened last year, before the YOAMD started. We were staying at ASMo and got back really late from EMH at MK.My daughter was really tired and i went to the food court to get her a milk before bed....This was at like midnight.
The food court was closed and they had already shut down the registers and told me I couldn't get a milk.
Then the manager of the food court came out and asked me what I needed. I told him and he went to the cooler and got me a milk , handed it to me and said, have a night evening.....
Its that kind of general caring about the guests that keeps me coming back to WDW, whether I win anything or not.

I got back last week from my honeymoon and we got loads of stuff but only one "official" dream. I say "official" because it's not listed, BUT the CM that was doing it started out by saying that "Have you heard about the Year of a Million Dreams? Well now you are part of it". We got a private tour of the Haunted Mansion. It was beyond amazing. Our guide loved his job and you could tell. At the end we got Official Caretaker cards. So cute!
But the biggest and bestest thing that we got was an upgrade to a tower room from a wing room at the Contemporary!
It was amazing.
One amazing DISser had a package waiting for me at check in.
Another DISser (a group of them) had champagne and a cake sent to the room
Free champagne flutes at CRT
Autographed pic of Cinderella and Prince
VIP seats at Beauty and the Beast
Brought up front before B&B show, sang to by 4 for a Dollar and given free CD
Free Fast passes by CM for Soarin
Free desserts
Many congratulations
If I think of anything else I will post that too

That is incredible! DW and I are going in May for our "un-anniversary"...too bad it isn't our actual anniversary but July is very hectic at work for both of us and we're not allowed to take time off then. A tower room would be one of the most amazing things to get. Did you have a view of MK so that you could watch Wishes from your room? That'd bet the cherry on top! I'm thinking of getting some sort of un-anniversary t-shirts made for DW and I. We're not really into the whole EXACT matching outfits thing but we could give it a try. It's weird though, we'll unknowingly coordinate our outfits to match. We don't know exactly how it works but it is pretty neat!
Wow. That sounds so neat. We're flying down Saturday. I just can hardly wait because I've been in the hospital twice in November with bronchitis and throat infections and even though I'm not completely well yet, my ENT said going to WDW will help me physically, mentally and emotionally. We're staying at the ASMusic for the first time. We'll also be celebrating my birthday on the 11th. Because I have been so ill, this is the first vacation that I have not been able to plan completely or be totally ready for as far as packing, etc. I'm not planning to receive a Dream but I am planning to add a little magic to some of the CM's days by such things as giving them candy canes, etc. I just got into pin trading a couple years ago so I think that's going to give me an opportunity to surprise some of them. Because I'm still tired and weak, this will probably be the slowest WDW vacation I've had but it just may be the most memorable!

We did not have a MK view, but the view of the lake was AMAZING. Our room was last on the level, on the MK end so when we opened our door, it was all MK!
But we did have some friends who ate at California Grill and we met them up there for Wishes, I must say that I prefer them from the ground in the park.

We did not have a MK view, but the view of the lake was AMAZING. Our room was last on the level, on the MK end so when we opened our door, it was all MK!
But we did have some friends who ate at California Grill and we met them up there for Wishes, I must say that I prefer them from the ground in the park.
I totally agree, DW and I ate there and saw Wishes for the first time from up there, I didn't really enjoy it because the trajectories were all wrong from that angle. On our next trip I want to watch wishes from across the lagoon. I was thinking about doing that on our arrival day; that would totally get us in the mood!!!!

We got a private tour of the Haunted Mansion. It was beyond amazing. Our guide loved his job and you could tell. At the end we got Official Caretaker cards. So cute!
That is so cool!!! Congratulations on your marriage.

We were at the world for 11 days from 10/21 to 10/31 and stayed at Pop Century. When we arrived at Pop and got off the Magical Express bus our DD7 was approached by a CM and asked to be the "Pop Star of the Day". They wrote her name in chalk, traced her hands on the sidewalk, gave her a Pop Star button and balloons, took her picture, and delivered a photo to our room. Her name stayed on the sidewalk for the rest of the day behind the velvet ropes! Probably not part of the YOAMD but magical none the less!
I tried to post a picture but I don't have enough posts....so if you would like to see it you will have to do it the hard way and replace the commas with periods:

That is ADORABLE!!!!!!
I always wonder about how they 'choose' people for things like this. Do you think they are totally random? Do you think they leave saying we need someone cute and under 12? Do you think they say the first child off the ME wearing a Disney shirt? I think it's so interesting!! I wish I could be on the Dream Team! Can you imagine getting to put those kinds of smiles on people's faces multiple times a day? How fun!!

I was in the single-rider line in Test Track this am...well, the Dream Team came in to the little room (you know, the one where you have to watch the dumb video before going on the ride)...so there were about 20 of us in there, and we all got our "YOMD" mouse ears...it was so cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

My family (sans me...I was shopping) each received a YOAMD lanyards with pins while participating in the Robot Race at the Innoventions Fantastic Plastic exhibit. They gave one to everyone in that particular race. I didn't see any big winners while I was there, but there were LOTS of people walking around with Dream Fast Passes.

Hey there! We just got back (last week) from an 8 day trip. We had several fun things happen for us!!!
We were upgraded to Concierge at the Polynesian for "FREE"!!!!!! :cool1:
AK- while eating at the Tusker House a sweet lady cleaning tables saw that our youngest daughter was wearing a Birthday button & she gave her a piece of some delicious chocolate cake. :bday:
MGM- we ate at Sci-Fi diner & our waitress gave my DH & I a free sundae to celebrate our anniversary. :cloud9:
MK- a CM that worked at one of the snack areas in Frontierland walked up & asked if Tinkerbell could give our kids some cotton candy - the answer was most definitely "Yes!"...she also gave them cute certificates with YOAMD info signed by Tink. :Pinkbounc I'm glad I did!!!!
Epcot - we received an "official" dream of the YOAMD lanyards & special pins. :cool1: Our kids were soooo excited & here is where the pin trading obsession began! :goodvibes
cmctammyg My family (sans me...I was shopping) each received a YOAMD lanyards with pins while participating in the Robot Race at the Innoventions Fantastic Plastic exhibit. This is where we won ours...were we in the same race? (12/3) My family was walking in while I was parking the stroller & I was heading back & the CM asked if my family was in there & when I told him "yes", he told me to "get in there". :rotfl:
And lastly, one of the kids favorites, sitting in front of ("driving") the monorail. :woohoo:
We saw many dream fastpasses & lots of special ears. One dream that we heard of...the CM who was on the Dream Team that gave us our lanyards said that on Saturday (we won on Sunday) they had given away a 14 day cruise to a lady that was worth $14,000. WOW!!! Where were we?? Pixie dust was flying all around! pixiedust:

This CM also explained to me about their "randomizer", it sounded so fun!!! I wish I could give out more than our unused fast passes. :goodvibes
My 2 oldest kids informed me today that they are going to work at Disney one day...maybe I can help them pass out things one day!! :cool1:

We were at WDW from Dec. 2 - 11. We did not receive any official dreams, but did get something indirectly. On Dec. 5, we were eating lunch in the Columbia Harbor House, upstairs, not very crowded, and in the corner, with DD4. My husband went to the restroom. Another group of people sat at one of the center tables and a woman approached us with two YOAMD mouse ears. She said that they got them on "some promotion" and her teenage daughters did not want them, so she gave them to DD4 (adult size though) and me. I was surprised that anyone would give these up, but apparently they had no idea of the significance of these.
I did see some other ears throughout the parks on several days after that, and I saw one person with a YOAMD fast pass in the MK on Dec. 5, but we were not around any other winners.

We were in Magic Kingdom on 12/7. It was my nieces' first trip to Disney and their first day in the park. My friend and I had filled lanyards so both girls could try their hand at pin trading. My friend noticed a Dream Squad member with a lanyard just as we entered the park. She took the girls over to make their first trade. I joined them a few minutes later and thanked the cast member for making their first pin trades. I also mentioned it was their first day at WDW. She asked them if they wanted to meet Cinderella. We had a private photo/autograph session with Cinderella that afternoon. After we left Cinderella we were waiting on Main Street for the parade to start. We were approached by a very friendly Dream Squad member. He gave the girls their "First Visit" buttons. He hung around for awhile just talking about pins, etc. He then gave the girls the Pixie Dust pins. We were in the parks for 5 days. We were hoping to get the ears as my friend collects Mickey ears but we were never in the right place at the right time. On our last day in the parks the girls were invited to be in the Family Fun Day Parade. The girls were very pleased with everything that they received.

I just wanted to post some of the great things that happened on our trip because when I was getting ready to go this one thread really got me excited.
First...My daughter got two cards for her birthday at the poly one from chip and dale the other from pluto not on the same day..my dad also celebrated his birthday and not only got a card from goofy but balloons and pixie dust I am guessing he needed more magic then my 9 year old who knows.
Second...we all got dream fast passes the second day there we were taking the train and there they where. That was nice even though we didn't need them there really was no wait that day in the park but it was nice to get.
Third...Lots of cupcakes for the dinners that we had booked
Forth...Dreams certificates for ..a race after the stich ride, a puzzle put together in frontier land, even at the airport on the way home for this little game who knew they were doing that at the airport
Fifth... My daughter recieved the tickerbell pins one to keep one to give away and she gave away both...well one to me and one to a little girl on the bus that she just talked to all about pin trading and she didn't have a pin so my daughter gave her one and told her all about trading...she is very into that and well that is a whole different story.
Then she also recieved may pins from different cast members I would have to say she was given in all at least 12 pins that was really great.
It seems as though it was disney magic every where. I hope everyone has a great time

DH and I just got back from a 8 day trip. We went with another couple and there kids who have gone every year for the last 10. DH and I were going when to Big Thunder Railroad for our first ride of the day and we were granted a lanyard which had two pins on it. Our frinds didn't ever get anything. I was happy since I never in a million years thought we would ever win anything. It was DH first visit too.

On our trip 11-30 to 12-5 a few little things happened to us:
1) The kids DD6 & DS3 got little postcard size Animal Spotter Certificates while on the Forest Trail at Animal Kingdom. They were watching the MeerCats with a deer like animal came out. They asked the CM on duty what it was and she told them (which I forgot to remember) Then she awarded them the little certificates
2) DD6 was awarded the PixieDust pin in the American Pavillion at EPCOT. She just started pin trading in Norway and was really getting into it. She saw an older man CM and struck up a conversation with him. He asked her where she was from, how long she had been pin trading, and what her favorite pin was, as well as a bunch of other stuff. I was so proud of her to carry on such a nice conversation. As she was about to leave, he pulled the pin out of his pocket and explained the significance. She had so much fun looking for another little girl to give it too and then explaining the story. It took her until Great Britain to find someone.
3) DS3 and I were waiting for the RRR in MGM while hubby and DD6 were riding. We went inside the gift store after a while and were waiting at the barriers. The CM came over to my son and asked who he was waiting for. He said his dad and sister. She asked if he would like to be the Jr. Valet. At first he didn't want to, but she said I could come too and he was OK with that. He got a little red vest to wear that said Jr. Valet. He had to wave to people as they arrived and then point them down the red carpet. Once hubby and sister arrived he got a big certificate and a front-of-the-line pass to Star Tours which was his favorite ride.
4) Lastly, it really wasn't an official thing, but it was so sweet. We were some of the first people into Fantasyland one morning. Kids and hubby were on Dumbo and I was getting FPs for PeterPans flight. Two maintenance men were at the machines and said, "Why are you doing this, there is no wait." I explained my kids were riding Dumbo and then we would come back later to ride. He said, "You know you can't get any more FPs now for a while." I said I know. He said, "Well Philharmagic isn't open yet, but I'll go get you FPs for Winnie the Pooh." I was so shocked by this simple act !!! I told him how much I really appreciated his offer, but we had already ridden it the night before. He smiled and said, "Just trying to make some magic." He had a coat on so I couldn't see his name tag. Such a nice simple surprise.
Those were my magical moments. Had a lovely trip.

Do you have to enter this contest to win or is it just random for people staying at the resorts? Was your hotel upgrade just random did they tell you when you checked in? Thats so awesome you are so lucky I am glad so many magicalthings happened to you. Let me know if I have to do anything to be a part of this. I hope we are as lucky!

There is no requirement needed other than be on WDW property in most cases as there is also a mail in portion of the contest. Need not be staying in a WDW hotel. We just got back from 6 days at the world from 12/11-12/17 and we had a few magical things happen. The first was at Mission Space my sons (ages 7 & 10) and I had just gotten our full throttle pass and were walking to the line with a 30 min. standby time when a CM came up and asked if we would like a tour of mission control and then go to the front of the line in our own capsule. During the tour we got to see the inside workings of ride control and then she allowed us to play with the control panels that are on public display, take pictures etc. then she led us to briefing room and onto our own capsule, very magical for us!
Then the next day we were at DAK for early b-fast at Donald's and then raced to Ex. Everest and my sons and I were on the 1st car of the morning, when we got to the station, they passed out Dream Fastpasses to everyone on the 1st 2 trains of the morning, very cool, even my wife and daughter who were waiting outside got them as we were doing the baby swap. About 2 hours later my sons and wife were on PrimEVIL Whirl and I took my daughter to the Triceratops spin when all of sudden the Dream CM's showed up again and started handing out Dream Fastpasses again to our group waiting in line, when I told them I had already won earlier, they congratulated me and said I could either take the 2 passes or decline them or whatever I wanted. So I took them and then after the ride my daughter and I went looking for someone else to gift them to. We found a father and daughter alone near the ride and they said they were there alone that day so we gave them those 2 passes and they thought that was just great, and we really had fun giving it to them! Very good trip for us! Very Magical !!!!

DD age 9 bumped into a member of the dream team that was not looking where he was going. But he was a super nice guy and felt badly about "running her over" as he put it. So he took her up on the bridge of It's a Small World and made her an "honorary cruise director"! Even for such a small, unplanned little thing, it was a true magical moment for her. We loved it. And that was in the midst of a wonderful trip full of magic anyway! My daughters both got to participate in Turtle Talk with Crush as did DH! And one of them got to "wake the bears" in the Country Bear show! I'm telling you there is just pixie dust everywhere down there! I hope you all have trips that are just as amazing!

We were at Soarin' in Epcot waiting to board when a member of the Dream Team announced to the section ahead of us that they had just won a dream. At first we thought we missed our chance until the team member came in and gave us all the special YOMD Ears. We wore them all day and several CMs congratulated us and said they were jealous since they couldn't get them!
My sister, her DH, my husband and I were at WDW from December 9 - 15 and saw plenty of Dream Team members but saw no one receive a dream and saw no Dream lanyards, ears or fast passes. We were disappointed. We kept hoping we'd see them surprise someone with something magical but we didn't see one thing. I was really hoping to see them spread some magic. Maybe another time.

My son is on the Dream Squad at WDW....and I want you all to know they are a group of 44 or so dedicated and loving cast members. They love their jobs and really enjoy giving out those "Dreams." I can't believe how organized it all is and it certainly isn't something that is scripted ahead of time. It's so random that even the CM's don't know what's coming to shortly before they get the notification. And then they get to really enjoy their jobs.
His biggest dream give-away? A trip to Italy for a family.
I must say that Disney really, really wanted to plan this all out well and their training left nothing to chance. Knowing some of the behind the scenes things about this initiative made me really respect the management that he worked and works under (no plug, just the facts).

Yet, another reason we love DisneyWorld!!!
This was our first year to visit Disney at Christmas. The only picture I told my family I HAD to get was a good shot with Mickey for our Christmas card photo. We weren't having alot of luck until the morning of December 13th. We were in Animal Kingdom and went over to the Charachter Greeting Trail to see Mickey. We got there about 10 minutes before the lines opened at 10am. We were first in line with only a few people behind us.
A Dream Team Member came up to us and asked us about our trip. I told him I had my heart set on getting a picture with Mickey for our Christmas cards.
He said "How would you like a private photo shoot with the whole gang?" That meant Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in his Santa outfit!!! We were thrilled to say the least. He took us to Mickey's area and all the charachters came out and we got some great shots. We also got an autographed certificate for our dream come true.
Then the castmember asked us if we would like to be in the "Jingle Jungle Parade" that afternoon. What a fantastic day! We got hats and vests to wear and were put on a float right behind Minnie Mounse. They even took a few photos of us with a disposable camera and then gave my son the camera to finish taking pics during the parade.
I don't think there is any way to know if you will be picked, but the castmember who approached us commented on the fact we were all wearing red shirts (that Christmas card thing) and looked festive.
Also during our trip we got a free souvenir popcorn bucket with popcorn at a snack stand for naming 3 charachters from Toy Story. And we got escorted to the front of the Star Tours line (there was a 30 mintue wait) by Darth Vader and 2 stormtroopers. We were the last in line for photos and the castmember with the charachters asked us if we were going to ride and when we said "yes" she said I think I can help you out. So after our photos the trio escorted us with their blasters to the front of the line. Very fun for our family since we're all Star Wars geeks.
So if you're going to Disney this year I think you've got a good chance of having at least a little dream come true.

We watched another family get escorted by CMs to board Soarin' via the FP queue first thing in the morning on 12/23 -- guess their Dream was to ride it all by themselves. I was stunned when all of us in the Standby queue's Gates A, B, and C got Dream FastPasses as well. (As if riding Soarin' first thing in the morning isn't "Dream" enough!)

Our visit was from Nov 4-11th, and I am having such a great time reading all of these fantastic moments that I had to share ours!
Our daughter (7) received many of the little certificates for various things. Some I can remember off hand were hula-hooping in DTD, Tic-Tac-Toe in Frontierland, answering questions in the gift shop outside of PoTC, etc.
We also recieved dream fastpasses are Animal Kingdom one morning while waiting to get on the little flying dinos ride (sorry, I can't remember the name). On our very last day we got the dream fastpasses at MK while waiting to ride Cinderella's Carousel. This was great since we hadn't planned on riding much that day knowing it would be crowded.
I think the best thing was while we were waiting to ride the teacups a CM walked up to us and anounced that it was our "unbirthday"! She then gave us an 8x10 picture of Alice & The Mad Hatter and led us straight onto the ride. She had everyone waiting sing happy unbirthday to us! It made our day!
We had such a great trip! We are planning to go back in Nov again before the YoaMD ends, but I'm also trying to squeeze in another trip this spring! But just as everyone else has said, Disney is magical no matter what!!

Just curious...how did your son get selected? Were cast members given the chance to express their interest and asked to apply, or were they hand-picked by supervisors, etc.? I think this would be the greatest job ever, making someone's dream come true on a daily basis!

Does a 30% refund on our resort stay and 4 3 day park hopper tickets count as Dream come true? If so, we got it. We went to WDW Dec. 1-10 and had a bad experience with the pop warner kids. I emailed Disney about this just to let them know how this pop group was making the "regular" guests vacation a nightmare. That is those of us that actually had a run in with them. The nicest CM called me and thanked me for the email and granted me a Dream. My family is so excited.

I took my DS5 on an overnight to Disney 12/30-12/31. We went straight to Animal Kingdom and the first thing we did, after getting a FP to Safari, was head over to the Lion King. He had on his First Visit button and his Birthday button. We waited briefly for Lion King, but the line closed right when we got to the front. A lovely CM saw him and arranged for him to be a VIP for the next show! He and I had special front row seats in the Giraffe section and he got to be in the Lion King parade at the end of the show (he actually could have been in a couple of other parts but DS is shy and wouldn't go!) It was such a wonderful heart memory.
PS- I made sure to go back to the CM at the end of the show and thank her personally for being so kind to him and making his brief trip so incredibly special.

We just returned yesterday from a week at WDW. Not long enough never is. The only thing that happened to us and it was not really part of YOMD is that on our last day we went to MK and there was a gentelman at the front and he asked us if we would be interested in keeping a diary of our day by logging in everything that we did and when we did it. We agreed and recieved a $20.00 Disney gift card at the end of the day when we turned it in. I did not see much magic being given out. Saw a few people with YOMD ears and a few with ultimate Fast Pass. We saw several members of the dream team walking around but not giving out anything. We had a good trip anyway. It was very very crowded and we will never go this time of year again. We are going to try to go again at the end of May. Much better time to visit. Hopefully we will rec some magic then. :stitch2: :tink: :goofy:

I was at WDW December 16 - 22nd and while we didn't win any dreams my son did get three Magical Moments certificates, one for "recycling" at Epcot, one for playing toss the bunny at Splash Mountain with some really great CM's and for being an honorary Power Ranger. He was picked out of the crowd to come sit in the Power Ranger car at MGM so that I could take photographs of him with all the Power Rangers. For a six year old little boy that was a dream come true!

On December 16 my 6 year old son and I were walking down Mickey Avenue in MGM Studios and a cast member stepped out from in front of Walt Disney, One Man's Dream and asked us if we'd like to come inside and learn a little about Walt Disney. I looked down at my son and said, "I think that's a very good idea. Let me show you who is responsible for all of this being here." The CM just smiled and stepped back to make way for us going inside. As we entered the room immediately behind the door a CM from the Dream Squad stepped up and said, "Thank you for visiting the story of Walt Disney." and handed both of us YOAMD lanyards with pins. It was so exciting and I can't tell you how many people tried to get us to trade those pins that week!!!

So my husband calls me on my way home from work and says what would you be getting from WDW in a registered package. I ponder and ponder some more and can't think what it might be. After I hung up it hits me, YOAMD. I might have one something from one of the cards I sent in. So the waiting begins, post office wont let us get it until 9am tomorrow.

We are going in March and will be bringing my son's girlfriend. We will be celebrating her first time to Disney and her birthday (#21) and our anniversary (#26). I HOPE and WISH she gets picked for something. But we are already granting her biggest wish to go to Disney so she is already so very excited. We are surprising her with a cake at the Liberty Tree Tavern for the character dinner. I didn't think I could ever get more excited about going to Disney World, but bringing her and seeing how excited she already is makes it more exciting to me. I am having a really hard time trying to fit in everyting I think she should see in just 3 full days. But I definitely will try to get her a "first-time" and "birthday" buttons. I am already planning a trip scrapbook to make for her. I can hardly wait to go!!!!

We're not due back there until Oct07 but found this thread and wanted to share a fantastic experience that we had last April06. We (Me, DW, DS & DD)had just arrived and had arrived for our first meal under the Dining Plan at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. (We hadn't eaten there since Oct04 when were last there as a family group - 10 of us. One of the CMs originally came from Scotland, about a couple of hours drive from where we live and we had a brief chat during breakfast and he gave our kids Chef Mickey placemats.) This visit, we were shown to our table and we noticed 'James from Dunblane' from the previous visit. He saw us, came right over and started chatting away. He stopped by the table several times over breakfast, and enjoyed teasing my Ds about the football team colours he was wearing and again, as we left, came over with new Chef Mickey placemats for our kids - he must have known the other ones were getting a bit tatty! After 18 months to recognise us, especially when we were in a group of 10 the first time and only 4 this time was great. Here's hoping he's on shift again this October.................as the placemats are wearing down again!! Absolutely fantastic and really made our trip, AGAIN!!:yay:

After having sweet dreams of going on an "all expense paid" DREAM trip to Disney, I had to get up and go to work only to leave my Darling Husband to go to the post office. So 9:00am comes and goes and finally at 9:15 I called him and he says, "I didn't want to open it without you"! Yeah, like I would have waited for him.
It seemed like hours for him to cut open the box and ...
inside the box were the much heralded, highly anticipated Year of a Millon Dreams Ears. :rolleyes1
No not the trip of our dreams, but still a pretty good prize.
As DH was opening the envelope he still held out hope that this was the dream trip. But no, just a nice little note congratulating us.

Man I'd love to get a pair of those when we're down there!
It sounds like most people are getting the pin lanyards rather than the ears. Any type of little magic that DW and I can get and spread while we're down is going to be fun.
Here's a question for everyone....DW and I (see ages below) have no kids but we'd like to spread some magic while we're down there. I don't think parents would be too keen of us giving anything to their kids, even if they were just glow bracelets. I know I wouldn't be too cool with that. What do you guys think we can do to spread some magic? I was thinking about making up something for CM's too but on our last trip we didn't really expereince any magic from the CM's.
Thanks!

My six year old wanted to do the same thing. So we had a bunch of leftover princess tatoos from her birthday party that we got from Oriental Trading Company. She had so much fun while standing in line or walking through the parks going up to little girls and their parents and asking if their little girl could have one. Not one parent said no.
One suggestion though -- stickers might be better. A lot of the little ones didn't understand that you needed water to get the tatoo to stick and were a little miffed they couldn't put it on right away.
I saw go ahead and do it. Just always ask the parent if it is OK if you give their child something.

I think this is a great idea! Oriental trading company has lots of little things you can purchase in bulk very reasonably.
You could always just hand the stickers to the parents.
My children are grown but I can tell you that I remember all those times when strangers where generous to them - it really means a lot.
If you don't want to give anything you can always be gracious to everyone for example, that mother holding one child and pushing the other in a stroller or making sure you are not standing in front of a little one at a parade or just smile your biggest smile when dealing with a grumpy cm - remember, sometimes they need a little magic, too.

This may have been asked before and I apologize if so, but aren't the disney postcards at the USPS a little larger that 3.5 x 5? Are the Disney ones being used and accepted or must we find those that are strictly 3.5 x 5? I only learned of being able to mail the postcards in yesterday through this board. We were in MK last week and stopped by UpTown Jewellers to inquire about some of the New Years pins... we were looking for a New Years Eve pin that had MK on it (all the ones we saw had Epcot) since we were at MK for NYE. I started talking to a really nice CM there, Kathy, who showed me a catalog of all the limited edition pins etc and there wasn't a NYE pin for MK! Then we just started talking about the "pin business" in general and how some folks would buy hundreds of dollars worth of limited edition pins (we assume for the purpose of selling them on Ebay etc).
I told her that we only buy the limited edition pins for the events which we attend and a few others that are just little reminders of things we've done at WDW (ie... pins of resorts we've stayed at, etc).
Well, after we checked out she said commented about how nice it was to chat with me and then she said she wanted to do a little something for me for being so nice. She then handed me a card that had 2 limited edition Year of a Million Dreams Tinkerbell pins - one to keep, and one to give to share with someone else. We were speechless and it actually brought tears to my DP eyes. At that point, Kathy said I had to give the 2nd one to my DP.
It kinda put us in a good spirit to do something for someone else though. We had gotten a few FPs for Space Mountain one morning to use later that evening before dinner. We ended up getting back to MK a little later than expected and the wait for SM was well over an hour. As we were walking back we heard a family talk about the wait and how they were going to have to skip it... we then stopped and gave them our FPs. They were thrilled and very appreciative.
What a way to start the new year!

DD and I got the cool light blue Mickey ears at TOT. We were in the library, and when the lights came up after Rod Serling's spiel, the Dream Team was there! They announced that our elevator was being prepared, but while we waited, they had something for us. They gave everyonr in the room the Mickey ears. DD was thrilled!!
DD also got 3 different Magical Moments certificates during our stay. 2 were at pin carts in MGM- the CMs chatted with DD and asked her some trivia questions, then handed her the certificates. the last one was at Toontown in the Hall of Fame tent gift shop. DD and her cousin talked with a CM about what they had done that day, and she handed them both certificates.
The last "magic" we got was- we got to be in the Family Fun parade at the MK. DD, I, DSIL, DBIL, and their 3 kids were strolling through Adventureland, and a CM approached us, She asked if we'd like to be in the parade. The kids were thrilled!! WE got to be in the Hula Hoop section and parade down Main Street with several other families, performers, a marching band, and several characters. Very fun!!

My wife and I were lucky enough to get to head to DisneyWorld on a little pre-Christmas vacation last month without the boys.
During our stay, while visiting MGM, we were waiting to get on RockNRoller Coaster when we saw some commotion in the line ahead. As we walked into the holding area of the ride right before you go into the "recording studio" with Aerosmith, a CM was putting blue wrist bands on us. Before we went into the recording studio, the YoAMD CM informed us and about 30 other folks that we had been selected as winners and our prize was an extra hour in MGM AFTER it had closed. The ony reason we were in line at that time was that as the wife and I went to get a FastPass, a young girl came over to us and gave us two to use right then and there as she and her mom weren't going to use them! How nice they were and how lucky that was for us!
We were to meet at 8pm at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. Sure enough we showed up along with another 200 folks or so and were treated to a 30 minute show while they closed the park down. Then they sent us all out to ride the rides.
It was GREAT not having to wait and a special bonus was quiet time to enjoy the Osborn Spectacle of Dancing Lights with no crowds!
And then, on our last day, my wife and I were sneaking in one last quick trip to MGM before we caught our flight. So once again as we waited to get on RockNRoller Coaster, we saw the familiar blue shirts.
Again right before going into the recording studio room on the ride we were told we had all been awarded the collector's lanyards! This was something my wife had been wishing for our whole stay and there it happens to us right before we leave town!
All I can say is this is probably one of the best promos I've ever seen executed. Well done Disney and thanks for the unforgettable little moments from our last trip!

You cannot go with high expectations in hopes of getting something. You are sure to be let down. :guilty: I know me and my family did the same thing just a little over a week ago. If you can have a bad trip to WDW, we did. The hotel over charged us, we got lost in Orlando going to get some medicne for my DD, our backpack got stolen  and we were really, really hoping to receive some magic. By luck on the last day we were at MK and asked if we would be interested in keeping a diary of our day (what we did and when) and when we turned it in at the end of the day we rec a $20 disney gift card. It made our trip a little brighter. :sunny: My husband also lost my ticket on the last day. We did not notice it until we got ready to leave. Luckely we were able to get it replaced. You can't look for magic, you just have to let it happen.pixiedust:

Our family was thrilled when we were given Dream Fastpasses immediately after boarding the Star Tours ride at MGM during our January 8-12 trip. Fortunately (or unfortunately) we never had to use the passes because there were either no wait times or only 5 to 10 minute waits on all 5 of the 6 fastpass attractions. We reluctantly used the Dream Fastpass only on Tower of Terror. However, the stand-by line was only 15 minutes at that time, so we really did not fully benefit from the advantages of the Dream Fastpass.

We had 4 wishes granted while on vacation in October. One of our wishes took place at MGM while buying a bottle of water. My Mom and I payed for the water and then the lady working asked if I wanted to play a game. I'm like sure, why not? Then the lady pulled out a booklet full of pictures of MGM. I had to identify all of the pictures and where they were at in the park. I got them all correct and got a certificate stating that I'm an Official Picture Finder. :goodvibes Another one of our dreams was at AK by the main gift shops. I asked a nice man where he received his Dream FastPass and he said they passed them out at Kilo. and I then left and he walked up behind me and asked if we would like to have them since they were leaving the park. We were dumbfounded! Our next dream came when they gave us free cheese sauce at Peco's Bills and Cosmic Rays. Our final dream happened at Pinnochio's VH in the MK, while we were eating, two men dressed in celebreation attire greeted us and gave us two of the celebration pins and said that he noticed that we collected pins and he thought that these pins would be a nice addition! ;) I can't wait to go back!

We had our Disney vacation Nov. 12-19, 2006. It was a magical trip! Stayed at SS as DVC members. On 11-13-06, Our first park to visit was Animal Kingdom because my kids wanted to ride Expedition Everest. We started off the day with an early breakfast at Restaurantosaurus - I love it when the park is almost empty! After breakfast we went straight to Expedition Everest.
First ride on our trip. My whole family (DH, DS, DD & myself - Disney Mom, rode EE- A little scary for mom. We all got off really excited! We looked at the picture taken by Disney and laughed at my DD because she was closing her eyes in the picture! Well, DS makes fun of her. They decide to ride it again, No long lines! I decide that I am going to take a picture and sit this one out. They finish the ride and 2 CM's come up after the ride is over. They are clapping and said, "THIS IS YOUR LUCKY DAY!" - "You all get Magic Dream Fastpasses for the Day in Animal Kingdom!" Everyone on the ride started to CHEER! They then pass out lanyards that have a Blue Animal Kingdom Dream Fastpass- It has 6 tabs that can be removed.
They say - Dinosaur Ride, Kilimanjaro Safair, Kali River Rapids, It's Tough to be a Bug, Primeval Whirl, and Expedition Everst. Each person can use them one time in the park. My son says to the CM - My mom is outside taking a picture, can she have one too? The CM says, sorry, only people on this ride! SO, I was happy for them- but, I didn't get one! They DO split up the families. NOW, It was nice because there weren't long lines at all that day. We walked onto most rides, so it really wasn't a big deal. My family LOVED feeling so special! Disney is the best!
On the way out of the park we saw a mom and her daughter, we gave them 2 of our passes, because we had only used 2 tabs! We made them feel special too!
On our way out of Animal Kingdom my son had been looking for a blue rhino pin that came on he safari hat. He had traded it the year before. He really wanted to find another one, but you can't buy them. So, as we were looking through all the pins my son spots it on one of the safari hats that is for sale. He shows the pin to his dad. My husband walks over to the CM and asks if they are on sale anywhere. The CM takes it off the hat and says to my son, is this the pin that you have been looking for. My son says...YEAAAA, that's the one! He then drops it on the bill of my son's safari hat! My son said, hey you dropped the pin, her it is. (Handing it back to the CM). The CM grinned and said- "You can have it... Have a magical day!" We were all surprised! How much fun!! :hippie:

I have been sending in postcards from myself & my daughter. My daughter lives in a town about 10 miles from where I live. I sent the cards daily until just before Christmas when I ran out. Saturday I received a certified package that contained a pair of YOMD Mickey Ears and believe it or not my daughter called to tell me she had won the same prize on the same day as me! Which works out great, because she has 2 children and now they each have a pair for our upcoming trip!
I still can't believe we both received prizes on the same day.
Lori
UPDATE: 2 days later my daughter called me at work to tell me she had received yet another prize! She won a lanyard set with 2 pins on it (1 had Mickey & Minnie and the other was goofy & donald). So she won 2 prizes in 2 days! My husband said "I bet you will have one waiting at home, too!" I said no way, it was enough of a coincidence that we both won the ears, on the same day, but no way would we win the same prize 2 times on the same days. Sure enough, we got home and my son showed me a package he had signed for from Disney Parks! A lanyard and 2 pins.

Since your prize was not one of the prizes listed in the official list of prizes released by Disney, that must mean that YOAMD is going to be much bigger than announced with individual Cast Members having the discretion to award smaller prizes in their areas! What fun! :)
Where can I read "the official list of prizes?"

On our first day we got to ride up front on the monorail going back to the parking lot, That was sooooo very nifty.
On our second day besides just having the best trip, I was just learning to pin trade and traded a CM for the Goofy and Donald Magic Dreams pin. She acted like she didn’t know about it, maybe she didn't! Then later DD was given the Tink pin to give from a CM.
The third day at the Epcot Princess lunch my Daughter was picked to be the Epcot Junior Chef and got to paint a cookie and an adorable certificate.
Later that day I asked a CM for help finding chopsticks, we met up a bit later and started talking well it turns out he was on the dream team and when my mom showed up he asked who our day was going. My mom said she really wanted to go on Mission Space but the wait was 120 all day long and we missed the fast passes. So he took us both on it individually and we passed the long lines. He was the best and that was the best ride! Thank you Donald!!!!
Third day- We slept in for out Pooh Breakfast and asked and hour and a half later if we could sit and they said yes we could. It was great. But sad for the folks after us they turned them away.
On the last day we went back to Epcot and went strait to Sorin but the line for the fast passes was 30 min and the fast passes where for 8-9pm but I wanted to get them any way. Lucky for us a lady walked up to me and gave me two fast passes for 4:45!!!!

Just got back from Honeymooning at Disney and we had a MAGICAL time! Lots of pixie dust and magical moments . . . here are some highlights:
Got picked as 'First Family' at the American Adventure: Got to sit up top of the rotundra to watch the Voices of Liberty, and then let into the show early to take pictures and sit wherever we wanted. They also announced us at the beginning of the show, and gave us a magical moments certificate.
Got picked to view Wishes from the Astro Orbiter!!! A dream CM (Barbara) stopped us and invited us one night. We went up to the platform with two other small families and had a fantictic view of the fireworks, castle and tink's flight. Then, Barbara found out that we have never actually rode the Astro Orbiter, so Barbara set it up so that my new hubby and I got to ride after Wishes, all alone! :cool1:

We bought USPS pre-stamped postcards and printed labels for them. We just slap an address label and an info label and drop them in the mail. We do doctor it up with a stamp and color it for fun.

So you just mail your name and address to WDW, and that is considered an "entry" to win something?

So Yesterday as my family and I are listening to the roar of a generator outside our house to keep us warm (we ae in SW Missouri and have had no power since Saturday) I hear a knock upon my door. My darling son runs to get the door and there stood our Mail Lady with a package from Walt Disney. I was so excited...I had sent in 100 postcards and had already won a pair of ears. I sign the cards required to claim my package and wish my Mail Lady to stay warm (teens here) and take the package back into my family. My husband grabs the box and shakes it mentally weighing it. "It's Ears" he says, and he was correct.
2 Pairs in 2 weeks... YEah Us.
So we sat listening to roar of the generator and we were happier than we had been, because we could take turns wearing our ears.

WE got something very special before the Million Dreams.
This was the absolute best and I cannot thank this lady enough.
April of the last my family and I DH , and twin 4 year old girls were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Early Thursday morning my daughters awoke and seemed to be quite sick. O.k I do have to tell you this lil part first sorry . Anyways I woke up at 1:00 am and decided to go down to the desk . Well once in the elevator the lights went off and it dropped 3 floors. i was in there for a good 10 mintues hitting every button I could find , REALLY anything that was sticking out I pushed it. Finally the lights came on and there I was Main Lobby YIPPY :cool1:
O.K NOW for the MAGIC. We didn't go to the parks that day because my DD's were still a bit under the weather so we went to Downtown Disney thinking a lunch and ice cream would cheer them up. While standing in line at Wolf Gang Pucks Express 2 ladies were chatting amounst themselves , one turned and said "Hello , I hope you are enjoying your day " , I said " Yes having a wonderful time ". MY DD's said very little and I said " I'm so sorry they are not feeling quite themselves". We proceeded throught the line and found a table. No more then 5 minutes later one of the ladies came over and said "You were talikng to my Mom in line and she told me about your girls, and I would like to do something for them ". Well she apparently was the manager at the Bibbideebobidee Boutique and told the girls she wanted to give them a complete make-over if they feel up to it . Well of coarse that was a definte yes from my little Holly , McKenna on the other hand is more Boy/Girl :) . We strolled over after we ate and yes free complete makeovers and not only that she took them shopping throught the store FREE. McKenna got her Pirate stuff and Holly all deck out little princess. This was amazingly kind act not even being a Year of a Million Dreams. So yes, Magic happens all the time!

Same concern here. I'm ok w/ name, address, phone, but do not like the idea of DOB at all. I want to send some in, but do not want to put that down. For those of you winning, was all the info on the card?

I believe I read an earlier reply where someone stated they had been putting their card in an envelope to mail and won something. I personally am not that concerned about putting the info. on the back of the card as our outgoing mail is in a locked box that is emptied by postal employees. They've had much better opportunities to get my personal info. with other things I have mailed/received.

Sorry...I don't think it has anything to do with YOAMDs. I believe the pricing for HDDR is tiered now based on seating location. If the price went down by $10, it's probably because you will now be seated in a different location. You might want to call and ask to be sure.

Last time we went I didn't have res for hoop dee doo. We went over to the ticket counter 30 min. before it started and the CM said a family just cancelled due to illness, he would 'sell us thier spot' and not charge them for a last min. cancel. We were so excited we bought cowboy hats by the entrance for our 2 boys 5,6. We were seated at a bar table in the very back. After tying napkins around thier necks like cowboy hankerchiefs (they looked so cute!) they were invited to both go on stage for the show even though only one is usually chosen for that "spot" they said they wanted both. Our Cm kept bringing us pithchers of beer saying to enjoy the break from the kids. It happened to be my birthday which they didn't know. This seems simple, but it was one of the best moments I've ever had!!

Oh yeah heres another from the same trip... We were in mIllionaire at MGM and there were not enough seats for everybody there. I saw a CM trying to find a spot for an unseated guest near us and offered to put my son on my lap. She thanked me and sat the guest next to us. Towards the end she gave us a certificate for free ice cream that day. We never used it but her appreciation meant a lot!:wizard:

Just back from 14 nights :sad1: But we did get something on our second day:thumbsup2 On our way back to the train at Rafiki's we got the pins!! And another day in the MK we talked to a Dream Squad person for about 10 minutes - I had a Tink shirt that said "Make your wish come true" - he said that his wish was to go on the ToT. We discussed thrill rides for some time since my wish was to get my mom to ride the coasters with me - I had gotten her on Goofy's Barnstormer and was attempting BTMRR. After talking for a while he gave us 2 FP good for any ride - not the special Dream FP, just regular ones. And I did get my wish - that night my mom went on BTMRR and SM, the next day EE:woohoo:

We just got back from 10 magical days @ disney!!! We received 6 dreams while we were there:
-1st day @ MK, a dream team mbr approached me and asked if my 6yr dd would like a private meeting w/Cinderella? Well, yeah!!!!! My neice/nephew were on this trip w/us and they scheduled them too! We met her in expo hall behind this red curtain and it was just us w/her!!! She was beautiful!
-same night, we were in line @ It's A Small World and a man approached me and asked what my dd's name was and he bent down and asked her if she wanted to be the cruise director for the ride??? Well, yeah!!!! So, our whole party(8) got to go behind the loading place and she got to go in the box and wave to everybody and then they gave her a certificate and we went straight on the ride!!! Soooo Cool!
-At the Cantina in Mexico they gave my dd a free drink cause they liked her t-shirt! Hey, that's a dream! ($3)
-She got to be the cruise director on our 6th day again and of course, we didn't say she had already done it before!!!
-We were in line @ MGM/movie ride and we were wearing our t-shirts my dh made(I will post a pic later in my tr) but we got a lot of attention with them and a cm came up to us and said he liked our shirts and said, okay, if you can sing the beginning and ending of the mickey mouse club song, I will escort you to the back and you can go right on the ride. We all started singing and away we went.
-We were shopping in MGM and my dd was playing w/a basketball, and a lady approached us w/the plaid vest attire on, and asked if she like to play and she said let's see how many baskets you can ring and she made 10 and she gave her a certificate w/tinkerbell on it.
**We had a magical trip and we were so excited about all the dreams and moments. I was on the look out for the dream team and they were @ every park. They have to give out no less than 155 a day they said. I hope we get more when we go back in Sept!!!

We went in to see the show " Walt Disney-One Man's Dream and got Lanyard with pins as we walked in. Some of the party was going through the MAHARAJAH JUNGLE TREK and came upon CM gving out Fastpasses. We really enjoyed the little extras that we got. Our Friends had not been to WDW in about 20 years, so they were really impressed and excited about the gifts.

Hi,
I am writing this from our room at the AKL. My husband and I got YOMD Cloud Mickey Ears this morning. We were on the Living With the Land ride and we saw the Dream Squad literally run into the exit area with a large duffle bag full of stuff, turned out to be ears, and everyone on the boat in front of us and our boat got ears. We were told that they do NOT sell the Cloud Mickey Ears anywhere and that they only way you can get a pair is through the Dream Squad. It was very cool and many CMs commented on our ears throughout our stay. :cool1: :cool1:

I saw on the local news today that a family from Michigan got to stay in Cinderella's Castle last night. I guess the computer picked a random seat number on the Star Tours ride and they were upgraded. I wonder how many of those they're giving away. We went yesterday too, but it was so rainy and cold we left after an hour. Bummer!

I was in WDW 1-17-07 through 1-23-07. Although we did not personally "Win" anything, we did have some "magical moments"
We had a cm take us through the back way to board a ride we had mentioned we were looking for.
It looked like rain and they passed out rain ponchos to our group for free. It did begin to rain, but it was warm and we were enjoying the warm rain, so we gave our ponchos away to people with small children. We got wet and felt good about our deed.
We were in a group of 130. There were fast passes and pins won by many of our group members. One girl was given free ice cream as a YOMD prize.

We got free YOMD ears when going in to One Mans Dream. My boys got to open an ice cream stand at AK and got free ice cream. Not really a YOMD, but when getting our DD first haircut we got free fastpasses for Everest, enough for 8 so we got to ride twice when there was a 40 min wait.

Just back tonight. Yesterday afternoon my son got to be chef of the hour at Mama Melrose's at MGM. He got a chef hat and certificate and got to make his own sundae! He had alot of fun doing it!
That was all for us this trip. Can't be greedy though!

That's good. I was thinking they only do it once in a while. I wonder why they even brought it up on the news.

We saw that too. It was the very first night that anyone got to stay (according to the news and sounds right from what I info I had) in the castle ever! That is why they were showing them and all inside of it! I hope someone on here wins! I want to hear about it and what they do as far as do you have to go in your room at a certain time, what if you are hungry, etc!
The random thing sounds like a good idea! They said it gives a very specific location and they go directly to that location and whomever is there gets it! HOpe they had fun.

We were at the Animal Kingdom park yesterday and coming off of Dinosaur when the Dream Team flagged the people in front of my wife with the Cinderella's Castle stay! (I was waiting with my twins.) Oh so close...
Today, I was waiting with my twins at ToT, and my wife, son and daughter came off with Fast Passes for MGM Disney Studios for the day. One for each ride! Sweet...

Me and my 2 older boys got the YOMD lanyards and pins on Star Wars Star Tours at MGM. the dream team came in before the ride started. everyone in the room was given one. (my boys and I were FREAKING on all the Star Wars stuff while in line and my friend's husband thinks that's why we got picked).
We saw Dream Team people EVERYWHERE at all the parks.
We talked to an AWESOME dude named Tony (from TX) at Animal Kingdom too. He was a CM and I think he was Dream Team....was hoping he'd lay a cruise on me. :yay: he recommended the Lion King show to us. He also gave my 4 year old son his first pin! My ds was HAPPY! :)
We had a MAGICAL time! I want to go back!!

Wow! You are all so lucky! We were there from January 12-16 and were in the parks ALL day EVERY day and never even saw a dream team once. Do we have any kind of thread that's charting times of day that people seem to get more, or at least see them?

We came home on 1/29/2007, spent one hour in MK before we had to catch ME to the airport. My family received dream ears before we got onto Dumbo.

While we were standing in line for a ride at the Magic Kingdom the "dream team" gave each of us 4 adults and my daughter a blue card(dream fastpass) that had a tag for each ride that had a fast pass and so we could go on any of those rides using the fast pass. Later in the week we were at the Test track and while my family waited to switch riders we were walking around in the store and we started making casual conversation with one of the cm's. She thought our daughter was the sweetest thing and so she gave her a certificate from the dream team stating something along the lines of how special and magical my daughter was. The CM put my daughters name on the top and she signed it and dated with her name. My daughter is too young to appreciate it, but i was all excited for her. It was cool to have ppl come up to you and ask what the blue tag is that we were wearing and see their excitment when we told them what it was. I was so excited about the dream fastpass i got my picture taken with the girl who gave it to us.

We all got dream team fast passes last Thursday (Jan 25th) when we were waiting to board the Dinsosaur ride at Animal Kingdom. There were about 16 of us in the room - 6 were our crowd. It was very exciting! But, we didn't even need them b/c lines were less than 10 minutes all day! So, I have some really cool souveniers for the scrapbook! :yay:
We also spotted a lot of Dream Team people at Epcot during the 4 times we were at that park. They were great trading pins with our kids. The only way I knew they were part of the DT was it was on their name tags. They were not giving anything away any of the times I saw them there.

We only used one of the fast passes from our dream fast pass. Because like the poster above lines were only 10 minutes, if that. So we too, had something nice to bring home and remember.

:rotfl:
Same here. I'm not breathing a word of it to my girls. Don't want them to be dissappointed if they don't get pixie dust, and the look on their faces if they do will be priceless. Not to mention it would add to the magic of their first DW trip!

My brother and his family just checked into SSR today and on the bench in their room were towel animals, balloons and a certificate saying their family was picked to be family of the week. A Great start for their much needed vacation.

This isn't an official dream but it was kind of the only neat thing that happened to DW and I on our last trip.
We were heading to the Backlot Tour at MGM and a CM told us to stop and follow her in a very stern tone. Since this was our first vacation outside of Canada we were a little scared because we thought we had broke some law unknown to us. She took us into this little shack right beside the Pearl Harbour re-enactment and told us not to talk to anyone. Then we saw some other people come in wearing full out rainsuits and they were soaked! Everything started to click....sure enough we were the next people to put on the show for everyone else.
The other cast member gave us the low-down on how to act while we were up there. He was very dry and talked in a fast monotone voice but he was REALLY funny! Just the way he described things to us and taught us how to act was great! The one thing that sticks out in my mind is him telling us to "act like over-caffinated 4 year olds" and boy did we :hyper:!
We were the ones that we scrubbing down the boat when the attack comes. The only problem was that we couldn't hear the director when he was saying to point to the sky and do all of that other stuff, oh well it was still fun but I wish I could have seen ourselves afterwards.
Like I said it wasn't an official dream but it was pretty neat to be in there. I still wish that we would have gotten towel animals though :confused3
