We just got back from a three night trip and my daughter had a few moments of pixie dust. She just started pin trading and only being 5 1/2 it took her awhile to understand the whole trading thing. She would go up to CM and say what pin she wanted, but forgot that she would have to trade one of hers. :) Two different CMs gave her pins without trading because we hadn't bought any of the "small pins" to trade with. She was thrilled. She got a Marie pin and a Disney Magical Express bus (which she promptly traded for a princess pin)
She also got a Magical Moment Certificate for racing the "shake up" race cars outside of the Indy Speedway.
Nothing "official", but just some fun :tink: (pixie dust)

We saw a family at Epcot today that had been given the cloud dream ears! Very cute! Sunday at Crystal Palace we saw the fastpasses being given out on Main Street and also at the exit to Crushn' Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon yesterday! Very cool!
:sunny:
What is a mystery pin trading?
A mystery pin trade is when a CM has a pin backwards on his lanyard -- that is, only the pin back is showing. You trade for it, without knowing what it is. Often it is a really neat, maybe CM-only pin. DS got some Mickey CM-only pin that way, and he was so happy. :)

We just got back and had two great things happen.
The first was at MGM on Sept 24. We walked through the gates around 1pm and were intending to go get Fastpasses for Aerosmith when we were stopped by a cast member who wanted to know if we had lunch yet and what we were up to. When we told her we were going to get Fastpasses she smiled and said, "well, you are the family of the hour so let's go get those for you!" I asked her if this was to do with the Million dreams and she said it was a "warm-up" of sorts... As it turns out, we didn't get Fastpasses, she just walked us through the exit line right onto the ride!! Then, she said she'd meet us in the picture area where she proceeded to buy us the 8x10 photo of us on the ride! Then when I thought it wouldn't get any better she gave us a coupon for two free ice creams!! Needless to say it was an amazing way to start out the vacation.
The second thing that happened was at MNSSHP on Sept 29. I went as Jack Sparrow and the wife was dressed up as Tinkerbell. We had just gotten our picture taken with Captain Hook, and after it was done he motioned for us to stand to the side and wait there. I had no idea what was going on and soon there were 4 of us there, Smee, Tinkerbell, Jack Sparrow, and Peter Pan. The cast member who was with Hook then announced - "Captain Hook has decided that he would like to take you on The Pirates of the Caribbean with him - right now!" So we followed Hook through the entire line (which was probably about a 30 minute wait at that point) He was hilarious, pushing people out of the way as we followed him in. The coolest part was that he wasn't just taking us to the ride - he actually got in the boat and came with us!!! We had a blast, singing along to the pirates song, and just having a great time!
Both of these things made the trip just that much more special, and if it's a sign of things to come I can see us booking another trip around the same time next year.....

In my real life I am a tax accountant. :guilty:
And yes you would have to pay taxes on the total value of the prize (including the cash they pay to defray taxes). But it is nice they pay the cash, otherwise some folks would be in a big bind to pay the taxes on some of the top prizes.
Awwww why are you sad that you are a tax accountant.
I like tax accounting.

I too am beside myself with excitement - DH and I are taking DS (2 1/2) to WDW in December, and I just can't believe that it will be even more magical. We stopped at Disney on the way home from visiting family in Florida this past March. DS turned two on the trip. My son is obsessed with trains, so one of the first things we did in the Magic Kingdom was ride the Steam Train near Splash Mountain. We had just missed one, and were the only ones on the platform. DS wanted to talk to the "ductor", so we went over and I introduced him to her. They had quite a conversation (as much as a 2-year-old can :rolleyes1 )and then she asked him if he could say "All aboard". When he satisfied this requirement, she made him the guest conductor on the train, and he got a special card commemorating the event, that he would not let go of for the rest of the trip. The next night, we were waiting to see the fireworks near Space Mountain away from the crowds. I took DS into the gift shop there to occupy him and buy him a lollypop. While I was paying, he threw up all over me! Of course, he felt better immediately after, so after the cast member helped me clean him up, I proceeded to pay. The wonderful cast member pointed out that some had gotten on my shirt, and then told me to pick out any shirt in the store - they gave it to me for free! My son loved the lollypop and his first fireworks, and I love my fabulous Peter Pan shirt! I can't wait to go for a week in December to experience the Christmas magic for the first time!

Last Thursday, while we were waiting for Muppets, DD read the sign about the key being under the mat & asked me what it meant. I had forgotten that I had read about that, so I took her over to look.
There was a Magical Moments certificate under the mat.
Have they always done that, or is it new?
DD also got a certificate at AK for answering some animal questions, and a trading pin at MGM's Darkroom for leaving a note for Mickey - but I think I've read about those being done before.
We saw quite a few Magical Moments certificates being presented, but we don't know what they were for.
The hats are really neat. As soon as we saw them on Sunday, DD wanted to buy some. when we couldn't find tham in the stores we realized they must be special hats that they're giving away.

Both of your Magical Moments sound awesome - - but I LOVE your pirate ride with Hook...what FUN! I'll be in The World in 3 weeks (minus one day) so I can't wait to see what EXTRA magic there is to see in the parks.

I agree, Sarah!!
I'm getting all teary just reading about these things!!
We had our own Magical Moment in July, when my sister and I found ourselves the first people to ride BTMRR!! The CM told us we were VIPs for the morning as the first riders, and she walked us over to Splash Mountain with my mom and other sister so we could have a whole log to ourselves. We went in throught he exit, and she announced that she had some VIPs that wanted to ride...it was just so special when we realized we were getting to ride all on our own!!
Of course we had to buy the photo...we've never gotten a log to ourselves before!!
But anyway, I can't wait to get down there to see this magic in action. Even if it's not our family getting dusted, I know I'll be excited to see it happen around us!!
I can't wait!!

We had 2 little magical moments on our trip last week. At Honey I Shrunk the Audience DD6 was selected to be an "Assistant Professor". They pulled her out of line and dressed her up in a lab coat and jacket. Then, they had her make an announcement welcoming everyone to the "Awards Presentation". She got a magical moments certificate that I need to get a frame for.
On another day, we were taking DD6 and DNephew 7 for their first ever rides on Space Mountain. When we got there, the ride was broken down, and they were obviously disappointed. A very wonderful CM, Stephen, asked my DD what her favorite ride was or what she'd like to try. She said she'd never been on the Speedway, so he took the four of us to the ride and through the exit (or it may have been the wheelchair entrance) and put us in the first 2 cars. It was a great little bit of pixie dust!

The magic was outstanding this trip. I would bore you with all the little magical moments but here are some of the bigger ones....
DS11 loves Rockin Roller Coaster...we all rode it once and when we got off the cast members were excited and asked us how we liked it and we, of course said we loved it. They said then come with us and ride again!! It had make me slightly ill so I didn't go but they took my DS11 to the front of the line for another ride.
We all got to be in the Family Fun Day Parade.
DS11 had a birthday card signed by everyone in eating at Prime Time Cafe, including our waiter, brother Mike.
My mom was always picking up after other guests (for another thread, but I couldn't believe some of the guests on this trip) and while waiting for DS to go on a ride my mom picked up some trash from the bushes some careless guest had left and a cast member who swept the streets saw her do this. She thanked her and then gave her a special pin for YOAMD.
A cast member sat down with me to talk while I waited for the kids to ride Space Mountain and while we were talking it came around to how I surprised my kids with this trip. He gave me a special pin for YOAMD because he said people like me help spread the pixie dust and they love to acknowledge those kind of guests.
Had a manager give my DD13 a Stitch pin just because she liked him.
I'm working on my letter to Disney right now to tell them how great this trip was!
ETA I forgot a very important magical part! Our Mousekeeper was wonderful. Everyday it was something new. The day birthday cards were left in our room for the kids, our room literally exploded in towel animals and creativity. The kids loved this part!

We got back just late last night...
And I got a Dream Fast Pass to MGM... we were just loaded onto Star Tours and in walked the dream team- asked the entire ride car how our trips were going- said that because it is a new year of a million dreams- we'd all get a little something and passed out a lanyard card with the fast passes (good for that day for one entry into each ride/attraction) that accepts fast passes.
We saw many many of these around in all the parks- and most people I spoke to were given them in rides where a large group is sectioned off together.
We also saw many people with Dream Ears- these are Mickey ears with cloud design on the beanie part and silver ears
The dream pins were also being circulated. One of my group traded a cast member for one and later a Dream Team member asked her about it and said you are only supposed to get them from the Dream team- but apparently someone who was given one by a dream team member wanted something on the cast member's lanyard more lol
We heard of people getting meals free (not on Dining Plan), upgrades, park tickets and other smaller things.
I went on Keys to the Kingdom on that trip- and our tour guide explained that all cast members have the ability to give dreams but only the Dream Team can give the big ones or the YOAMD items.

princess: We just returned from a 10 night stay at Disney last night, and we had such a magical time!! :wizard: We were at the MK on 9/25 and the Dream Squad was already working! Our kids (5yo) were dressed as Jasmine & Peter Pan, and we just happened to catch the very end of a show behind the castle. Aurora was in it, so my dd HAD to see it, since she's her favorite! We waited in the miserably hot line for a quick photo/autograph, and we were approached to sign a consent for their pictures being made. I believe they were working on possible advertising pic's. We received Mickey pins that said, "Say cheese!" on them, and they sent a photo to us in email also.
I believe that same day, my dd was wearing her Jasmine costume, and we were walking around the princess store on Main Street in the MK when we were approached by 2 cm's. They asked her to help dress the Cinderella mannequin (sp?) in the front of the store! My dd was SOOOO excited! She chose the jewelry, shoes, wand, etc. for her to wear. And, then she received a Magical Moments certificate and a Cinderella slipper pen. It was so exciting!
Later that same day, we were in Fantasyland, and a cm started speaking to the kids. I can't remember what happened though!! Crazy day! I believe he took us to the front of a ride, and then after gave us fast passes to any MK ride that we used on another MK day. The cm was super nice, and we ran into him a few days later in MK too! On the 2nd day in MK, the kids were dressed as Peter Pan & Tinker Bell. He took them to ride Peter Pan, and they wanted him to ride with them, which he did! He was very enthusiastic about his job and really enjoyed talking with the kids. Then, he took us to IASW, and they became 'cruise directors'! They each went individually to the stand/room above the water, where the boats go under as the ride starts. They made an announcement about each child as they did it, and then they had to wave at the boats/people as they went under! After performing their director duties, we went to the front of the line and took a spin on IASW! The kids loved it, and they got another Magical Moments certificate. :wizard:
The 2nd day at MK, we were undecided about going into see the Tiki Birds, since a show had just started and we missed it. We didn't feel like waiting 18 minutes for the next one, but eventually ended up going back for it. When we came back, the cm said we were the "family of the hour". We all received leis and had front row, center seats for the show. When it was time for the show to start we had to say, "1-2-3...Wake up Jose!". Another fun adventure for us, after a long, hot day in the MK. We found out later there were EMH's that night, so we REALLLY had a long day, but it was perfect!!
When the kids were in costume, they were constantly asked for their autographs! In the parks AND in the resorts. It was so cute, and the kids got used to it! They really thought that the cm's thought "they" were the real characters! My dd would say, "But, I'm not the real Tinker Bell!".
No, we didn't receive any large prize, and we didn't expect to either. However, we had a fabulous time and the entire trip was sooo magical!! I feel like I'm forgetting another time, but I'll post if I remember it! I'm still groggy from the trip, but trying to catch up at work. Good luck to all of you hoping for your wish to come true!! :sunny:

What a great thread! I'll be sure to post any "dreams" I see while I'm there in 35 DAYS!!!
Have a question - I'll be traveling solo for this November trip, and I'd like to spread some of my own Pixie Dust, but I want to be very careful about how I do it - single woman handing out stuff might make some parents nervous. What can I do that won't make anyone feel uncomfortable but that might make someone's day? (I know I wouldn't want anyone giving my DDs any kind of food, so that's out)...thanks for any suggestions you can give me! :thumbsup2
i feel the same way. i've got a pin from my cruise this past july that i would like to hand out (they give you two identical ones for being castaway members). i'm just not sure how to go about doing that. i thought maybe i would give it to a cast member and tell them to give it to a child who likes pins, but doesn't have any or something of the sort.

I don't want to sound pestimistic however....my ds and I go every year somethings twice a year. Nothing ever happens that is "special" when we go i.e. the housekeeping never made us towel animals however we would walk by rooms in the same area and see them in the window. I am wondering if maybe I should skip disney this year. I think it would be depressing to see everyone getting "magic" all around me.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. :thumbsup2 We were there 9/23 thru 9/29 and witnessed lots of magic not just on the cm's part but also other guests. :goodvibes
For example, my dd and I were on the bus going back to OKW and she was very tired :guilty: (as was every one else) but this nice young man about 16 yo or so, gave up his seat for her. :thumbsup2 That really impressed me and I could not thank him enough.
Also, while standing to watch the Boo to You parade on 9/29 a really nice lady sitting on the sidewalk with room to spare invited Katie to sit with her...pixie dust was flyin everywhere! pixiedust:
CM's and guests alike were so nice and polite, it really was magical. :wizard: I guess that when the magic is spread like that, everyone wants to be in on it. :goodvibes It really made our trip more special...not that we won anything but that EVERYONE was so nice and giving, guests, cm's, managers, everyone....really makes you feel good!

Just returned Sunday night from a fabulous first trip for our family. My husband (39) - me (36) - dd (5 - just turned Sept 28) - ds (2). During this trip - On Wednesday, Sept 27th we were selected to be 'Grand Marshalls' of the 'Family Fun Day Parade' on Main Street in MK. It was AMAZING! it was the parade held around 1:15! So, if anyone saw us....let me know!!
Also, during this trip - we got to ride in the front of the monorail, my daughter was selected to enter AK early and help with educating individuals entering the park about a scorpion, also she was selected to dance at the 'Festival of the Lion King' show!
It was a wonderful first trip...afraid we won't be able to 'top' it! Although, we didn't get anything for 'free' per say - the memories that we have from this trip are invaluable! The parade was definatley a high point!!

We just got back on Saturday. Rather than be jealous of other people's magic, I just enjoy the magic of others!
I would have liked to have a towel animal, but it was neat for me to see everyone elses in their windows.
I do have a question - are you supossed to keep the towel animal or leave it in the room?
We were a group of three adults and we got our own magic. My friend Tammy went with us - it was her first time. One of the first things we went to do was visit Mickey since he's her favorite. We were talking to the CM about it and she had us autograph Mickey's book. Mickey let us tear a page out of his autograph book to keep with his signature on it, plus he gave us all several stickers.
I'd told her before if you scratch Pluto behind his ear, he'll shake his leg. She spent about 5 minutes playing with Pluto (which included him getting down on the ground and wagging his tail) and the photo pass photographer took pictures of all of it.
We also got the surprise fast passes for test track/mission space. We thought we were so special! We even took pictures of them.

We were in the candy shop on main st on Wed and my 5 yr old dd was filling up a bag of taffy when 2 cast members from the store approached her and asked her if she wanted to make a dream come true and be the chef for the day. They brought out a cart with a mickey rice crispie treat and a bowl of chocolate and a bowl of sprinkles. They put a chef hat and apron on her and let her make her own treat and then wrapped up everything including the hat and apron and a card with her namr that said chef of the day. There were all other kids gathering around watching her and she felt very special. The funniest thing was when they first approached her I was on the other side of the taffy bin and when they asked her to come make candy she ran away saying" Maybe another day" and I asked her why she didn't want to do it she said she knows to ask me before going with anyone for candy-guess all the don't go with strangers even if they say they have candy talk worked!!

WE Won DREAM FAST PASSES!!!! pixiedust: Just returned today from a quick 3 day trip with my sister, her DH and DS. We were at Epcot on 10/02. We entered Test Track on our Fast Passes and were promptly led to the briefing room area. We noticed that there were only about 20 people in the room, which is not the norm, and then about 6 official looking Cast members entered and informed us that we had all been awarded a "Dream FastPass" it was only valid for that day, and had a FAst Pass for Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin', Maelstrom, Living with the Land and Honey I Shrunk the Audience on it. It came on a laynard you could wear. The only bummer was that Epcot was not very busy that day so some of the rides were not even operating fast pass, but they still let us go to the front of the line. It was exciting winning them though.

This is my first posting to this board, but after my latest trip to Disney World I decided I had to write and tell about our special moment. My family, consisting of my husband, 6 year old DD and I, were there from September 29th through October 2nd. Sunday October 1st was Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom and we were there having a fantastic time. I was on the teacups with DD while DH waited for us as he's not a 'spinner'. It must have been close to 11 pm and while he was waiting he was approached by a man I believe to be one of the YOAMD give-away people carrying the messanger bag. Anyway, they were talking about this and that and once my daughter and I got off the ride we went over and began talking to the man. My DD proceeded to tell him we were on our way over to Toon Town to visit Mickey and Minnie's house. Well, the cast member had to inform her that Toon Town was closed for the day but would reopen in the morning at 10. She was a bit disappointed, but as consolation he offered her one of his Minnie trading pins and my daughter offered to trade one of her's, but he said no, just to keep it and enjoy!
Our experience just gets better...
Before he can get away my DD asks him where she can get Winnie the Pooh's autograph as he really is her very favorite. She was supposed to get it earlier in the day, but didn't and was a bit disappointed. The cast member looks around the Pooh ride, but Pooh wasn't out that night. No big deal for my daughter... we ARE at Disney World for goodness sakes!
We then head over to visit Chip and Dale and while we are in line the cast member finds us and says he was just in touch with Pooh, and if he could get my daughter's book he would take it to Pooh and get his autograph for her. She was a little hesitant to give up her autograph book to someone she didn't know, but with a little persuading finally did.
Here's the best part...
When the cast member returned not only had he gotten Poohs autograph, but Tinker Bell's, Cinderella's, Piglet, Eeyore, Princess Jasmine, Chicken Little, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Princess Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Gideon, the Genie, and Mulan. And as he returned the book and was showing her the autographs Goofy (who was signing autographs nearby) and his cast member care-giver came right up and wanted to give DD a hug and autograph!
I don't think she'll ever forget that night. And neither will I!!
Sorry the post was so long...

A mystery pin trade is when a CM has a pin backwards on his lanyard -- that is, only the pin back is showing. You trade for it, without knowing what it is. Often it is a really neat, maybe CM-only pin. DS got some Mickey CM-only pin that way, and he was so happy. :)
-gina-
Actually, the CM had a board that was numbered 1-30...he told me to pick a number and lifted the sheet covering the board and it was a CM only pin...I got a magical moment certificate too!!!!

I just thought I'd add this state that my DH wrote up heis a part of the Dream Squad to and this is justv something he thought would help everyone to understand there roll in all this. He loves doing it and has enjoyed meeting all the people he has met and giving smiles to all that he meets. So here is a little bit of info for you.
I am on the Inaugural Dream Squad team.
The Dream Squad has 2 main functions. These are as follows.
Dream Greeter
Prize Fulfillment
We perform these in the following costume.
Tan pants and blue button down shirts. We wear a white vest when we are in Prize Fulfillment mode.
Dream Greeter
Most of our time is spent in this role. We are assigned areas where we walk around talking to guests and cast making sure they are having a good time and attempt to settle or make better any guest or cast issues.
Prize Fulfillment
We perform this role once a twice a week and are scheduled for the whole day. This is the area that most of the discussions are about.
We have no choice in what, when or where we do this. In order to keep this sweepstakes legal, we have an outside agency supplying this information to us. We can't open the envelope containing this information until just before the prize is to be distributed. We then go to the location, await the exact time (with syncronized time pieces) and award the prize as stated.
When we prize fulfill we only know what the Low Tier Bulk prizes are. These are the Dream Fast Passes, Dream Ears, Dream Lanyards and such. The Mid Level and High Level prizes are not even known to us until we take the potential winner back to Guest Relations.
In order to keep things fair and legal, the prize fulfillment portion is even kept secret among ourselves. When we are in this mode, we dont tell each other or even our leadership where we are going, when we are going or what we are giving.
All 4 parks, water parks and even Downtown Disney are included as prize fulfilling areas. I cannot give the actual areas that we deliver the prizes, but I can say that all guest areas are potential places for awarding within the above areas.
I hope this answers any questions. If not, please respond and my wife (Tiggermania) will pass questions on to me. I will do my best to return from time to time to answer those that I can. Just remember that there will be some that I cannot answer due to the confidential nature of awarding prizes.

I am loving these stories, but there is no way I am going to tell my kids about it. I know if they hear about this that they will EXPECT to get something special and they will drive us nuts if it doesn't happen! :sad2: They already believe that Ty Pennington is going to come and makeover our house, even though we just bought a new one!
I can only imagine how many folks we will see "stalking" the poor CMs wearing the white vests. :rotfl: Can you imagine the crowd of people that will start following those folks around once guests get used to this?
Thanks everyone for sharing.

I am hoping to view a magical moment while at Disney. I'm not expecting to win and that is fine. To me, it would be just as magical to see the excitement in a families face when they won something. That is why I'm enjoying reading this thread. Disney is truly a magical place and the DIS is a close second.

The magic for me is going to be heading under that WDW arch on Oceola Pkwy. Anything else would just be icing on the cake. It'd be fun to see someone get a dream though. I'm going a lot in the coming months so I hope to see the Dream Team in action.

Congrats. I love the discretion disney gives the CMs. I went for my bday and wore my pin and I was given a free chocolate covered banana at AK for my bday and a free 8x10 photo on buzz light year when I bought my 5x7 because it was my bday and both times the CMs said it was for that. I love Disney.
The last two years we have gone, they have done this for my friend, just because it was her birthday.

Just curious but, did you leave Mousekeeping a tip? It's not suppose to matter but, I'm sure it does!
Plus you should never go expecting these little pieces of magic to happen, that way when they do they are that much better.
And maybe instead of sitting back and waiting for something great to happen to you and DS, you should create some of your own magic. You know spread the love, KARMA
"Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म from the root kṛ, "to do", [meaning deed] meaning action, effect, destiny) means "(the result of) action"
Karma is simply the golden rule: what you give out is what you receive - either in the same or in similar form. You reap what you sow - your actions create that which you do live out now, whether this relates to a past/future life situation or to the present date."

Here's a few things we saw that were new on our trip that people got ---
* Of course, tons of people had the Dream Fastpasses
* LTT is celebrating "unbirthdays" now as part of the celebration, we saw a family in each section get a cake for this while we were there.
* Lights, Motors, Action, now gives a limited edition pin to the child chosen to run the "RC" car; A family is chosen to help direct, and start the show, they sit in director's chairs etc.
* Not sure if this is for the celebration, but it's new since our last trip - One Man's Dream offers you a trivia card to fill out as you go through, then you get a magical moments certificate for finishing
* Garden Grill - this one we actually got - One family at lunch, and one at dinner is chosen to be the Gardening Family of the Day. You get a commemorative thing, and the characters are all at your seat and interact throughout the meal. It was really special.

My boys and I went to Disney's MGM Studios on October 1st. I had just finished explaining the YOAMD to my oldest son and saying I wish I would get picked to have my dream come true. I told him my dream is to visit every Disney park.
We decided to go to the ABC Commissary for a late lunch. I ordered our food and then we moved up to pick up our order. When the CM presented our tray of food he said "Congratulations, you have been chosen as the family of the hour as part of the YOAMD". I almost passed out!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
He said "You've won...three free desserts". :lmao: OK, let me just say that I try to be grateful for all blessings I receive. And while I was happy to be selected, free desserts does not compare to a trip to all the Disney parks :rotfl:
He told me they had chocolate mousse, caramel flan and strawberry shortcake. He asked us what we wanted. Since there were three of us and three desserts, I told him I would take one of each.
We sat down and took a sample of each dessert. I could not believe how nasty these desserts were :sad2: They all tasted the same...bland. Having just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Disney Magic and living on their desserts, I expected better from Disney.
Our YOAMD experience was far from dreamy!!!
Here's wishing other people have a better experience!

I'm not sure if it was considered one of the "wishes", but on 10/2 just before the MNSSHP, we were in Fantasyland and my 6 yr old DD was about to ride the carousel. She had on her Belle costume and was all decked out... a cast member approached us and asked if my DD would mind being chosen as the Honorary Princess of the day in Fantasyland!!! My DD was thrilled! They made a big to-do about her at the carousel in front of everyone announcing her as the Princess of the day and then they had her ride Cinderella's royal horse on the carousel! :) :) :) She was elated and I was so thrilled because up until that point, most of the attention was being paid to my other DD who turned 4 while we were there.....

My non Year Of A Million Dreams expereince, was at Millionaire.
I really wanted a Ring Of Fire, and a CM came out and was getting ready for the trivia. I said "I'll be your best friend, if you give me a ring of fire" and he said "I have lots of friends", and went back inside. After a few mins, he came back out and placed a RoF ticket in my hand. He said "Have a magical, and millionaire day"

During our recent trip (September 17-29) we had three little bits of extra magic:
1. Waiting outside Carousel of Progress a Cast Member approached my two daughters (10 & 8). He chatted briefly with them and then handed them a piece of paper. It turned out to be good for Two Hot Fudge Sundaes at Auntie Gravities. This was around 7:30 PM, so they had them to eat while we watches Wishes on Main Street.
2. On another day at MK: I didn't witness this one, but my wife saw a cast member approach our daughters while in one of the Main Street Shops. She handed each of them a BlowPop.
3. Walking through the area in front of Rock and Roller Coaster at MGM: A CM approached our entire family. After chatting for a bit, he took us in the back entrance to RNR and gave us a brief tour of a few interesting things behind the scenes. He coached us on how to pose for the RNR picture. He then put us at the front of the line. When we emerged from the ride he took us over to Tower of Terror, again gave us some behind the scenes info and put us in the front of the line again. He asked the ride loader to make sure and put us in the front of the car. When we emerged again he chatted a bit more and went his way. Very nice guy whose name I've unfortunately forgotten. He was just about to leave on a 2-week vacation to Canada.
Our girls were so excited about the extra attention - it really made the trip all the more special.
Woops one more thing - he also got the CM at the gate of Tower of Terror to give us two passes that were good for up to 4 people to use the fastpass line. He asked us to pass them on if we decided not to use them. We were headed to Downtown Disney that night so we picked out a couple of families of four as we left the park and passed them on.

So, find YOUR pixie dust and maybe a bit of compassion for people who don't have a view of life through rose colored glasses.
Many people have more downs than ups. They may be dealing with depression or PMS or... You don't know the story behind the person or their posts.
I am VERY happy to see other people win, but I'm also honest enough to admit that it stings a little that it's never me. I respect the other posters HONESTY and COURAGE to post what they feel regardless of people like you trying to shame them.
And regarding the post about KARMA...I have always gone out of my way to be kind to others (at home and on vacation) but it has never come back to me.
Here's hoping my luck changes and my friend and I get a little bit of pixie dust thrown our way.
It IS exciting to read about the YOAMD prizes they're giving out!

Here's some more info on the YOMD from ALLEARSNET: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/yomd.htm I haven't read everything there yet, but I thought some of you might enjoy checking it out!
Oh yeah, when we were in AK on our last trip, I had the hardest time GIVING away an extra FP we had for EE. My mom had gotten a FP and decided she didn't want to ride again, so I saw a teenager standing next to the FP return waiting for his return time. I was headed in to use my FP and I said to him. "here is a fastpass for right now if you want to ride while you're waiting!", he looked at it and thought I was crazy because the return window had passes. I tried to explain to him that it didn't matter, but he kept looking at me. Another lasy was there and she told him the same thing -- you can use it! I never had such a hard time giving something away! I think he did end up using it after all that!
It's fun to spread magic!!!! Last December we had snack credits left, alot of snack credits left. So twice I bought the "snack" items of the little kid in front of us. Both times the parents were paying cash and didnt even realize they could get a dining plan. I think Mickey bars are a wonderful surprise wether it come from a cm or the person next to you in line! :wizard:

I had the privilege (I'm not a CM, just a Disney addict) to grant someone a dream at Boma this past February. I think several posters alluded to the fact that we can spread the magic ourselves, and I find it is so true.
I had on a lanyard with my favorite pins, one of which was an Ariel cameo pin (a large one). A little girl in the table next to us kept looking at us. Finally she came by and asked if she can look at my pins. I said sure. She stared at my Ariel pin and said "I just LOVE Ariel!" So I gave her the pin. She flew back to her table, and her mom's jaw hit the floor. Mom asked me what I wanted in return and I said "Nothing. It's hers." Than mom asked me if I was a CM (I'm not). It made my day to see this little girl (and her mom) so happy. It still makes me smile to think about it. To me, that's part of the magic of Disney.

Dee what a very nice gesture. It's so amazing how doing something so nice can make the giver and reciever both feel so great. I'm sure that little girl was on cloud nine...what a great example of the "magic" that happens only at Disney.
All these posts are getting my family excited about our fast approaching Dec. trip. (although it's not getting here fast enough)

Wow, these stories are fantastic!
I am so excited about the YOAMD; last night I kept my mom up until 1:00 AM just chattering on and on about it! :rotfl:
One non-YOAMD Magical Moment I had was about a year or so ago, just about 3 months after Soarin' opened at EPCOT. Whenever we go to WDW for a day trip, we always go to MK first, then to another park. When we got to EPCOT, I was excited to go on Soarin' but all the FastPasses were gone. I was disappointed, but we decided to go on Mission Space and Test Track a couple of times instead. After Mission Space, my two brothers and I always play the Mission Space Race game in the Advanced Training Lab; we like to be the people that actually take the fixes and place them on the ship and when we team up together we rock! But this time there was us, another group of 3, and two small kids in the line (which is for two teams of 4). My brothers and I wanted to stay together, and so did the other group of 3, and the CM was going to split the 2 little kids up and put them each on a different team. But they looked so scared to be split up, and their parents looked worried, so I said that I would go on the team with the other group of 3 so that the kids could stay together. Well, it was another few minutes until the game started and I had a conversation going with my teammates, and the CM came up to me and asked what my name was. I told her, and she said, "Here's a priority FastPass for everyone in your party to get on any FastPass ride today." I was so shocked and surprised! I mean, all I did was something I try to do often; put other people before myself. I didn't expect anything special, but I got to ride Soarin' that day. That was truly magical!

I certainly hope that these YOAMD dreams, including the night in the castle, will also be considered for couples who do not have , for whatever reasons, children. Think about how amazing that would be for a honeymooning couple or a couple enjoying their 50th anniversary.

My DS11 and I just returned from WDW this past Wed. We had a very magical time for 7 days on the DDP. Saw and did everything we had hoped to. We were winners in the Million Dreams Celebration. We were having a very magical day our last day that started off in Epcot for EMH. We asked the CM for a little pixie dust so that we could ride Test Track a second time without getting off and he gave it to us. Next, I spread a little magic in a minor way by giving a wetnap to a little girl who had gotten lovebug juice on her hands going into Spaceship Earth. We hopped over to MGM and the first thing on our plan was to get a FP for Tower of Terror, as we approached I noticed that the standby line was 20 mins. and suggested to my son that we just do standby, so we wouldn't have to come back later. A CM overheard us and gave us two FP's to ride immediately. I told my son as we were heading up the path to the Tower that good things usually come in threes. Going into Tower of Terror I noticed two CM's with the YOAMD vests on counting guests as they entered. I pointed this out to my son and laughed that we likely had just missed winning something big by not being the 1,000th guest or something. So we went ahead and entered the pre-show room. When it was finished the lights came on and a CM announced that everyone in the room was a winner in the contest and were given one of the collectible lanyards with two Disney pins. My son was thrilled as pin trading was something that we are not into. The magic came our way again on the bus back to our resort when a family asked how we had gotten our lanyards. They turned out to be pin traders and the gentleman gave my son and I each our first pins. Thank you again if you read this. The day before at AK my son decided he didn't want to ride EE again, so I gave away two FP's to a group of girls from Australia. The magic is everywhere, so keep spreading it.

Love all the little magic things happening. A night at the castle sounds great but do you think they have a camera in there? HEE HEE - they have cameras everywhere! Not so good for a honeymooning couple or just a very affectionate couple!!! ... or maybe even just a loud snoring couple!! :rotfl:

Just back...
Dh and I were walking around MGM one day and a CM walked up and gave us two of the dream fast passes on a lanyard for all the rides in the park. Then ds was chosen for the VIP at Epcot's Imagination for free photos (him in a "action hero" box with Toy Story characters around him, got an 8x10 and 5x7). Someone paid for a meal one night when we were at Sci Fi. Have a feeling it was another guest, not a "Disney" thing.

Unfortunately we were not able to us it since we had to get back to the BW for the Magical Express but it was pretty exciting getting something when we were not expecting. :tinker: Starting to count down to our next trip Dec. 1 to 14 MVMCP 12-1 and CP :woohoo:

ok, i have have question about the fastpasses that are being given to use for the day. My DH and DD are more brave and so at times they will ride the bigger things while DS and I do the tamer things. We don't like to split up for long just enough for them to get in a ride but what if one of us, either them or us is chosen to be given this fastpass that is good for the rest of the day! There are 4 people in our party 2 adults and 2 kids and what if they give it to just 2 of us. Then what are we going to do the rest of the day as the 2 that didn't recieve it will be stuck in stand by lines the rest of the day and riding the rides seperate from the family.
I don't know if i explained that well but those of you with an older child and a younger child might understand what i mean. My kids are 7 & 16!

We just got back early this morning and we had a few magical moments happen to us. My little brother pin traded a cm right by the haunted manson and she gave him a free candy bar and a magical moment card. We went to get Fast passes for Test Track and suprise fast passes for mission space poped out that had to be used in 30 minutes so We were really excited about that. My Family and I were at downtown disney in the big disney store there and we were all pin trading again and a cm said come with me for a magical moment, So we all followed and they led us all into the center of the store to the hat station and said you have one minute to get the most hats on your head. go So we all raced to get as many hats on as possible. I ended up with two because my big pile of hats fell off after the time was up and my little bro i think had 6 or 7 maybe but we got magical moment cards for that also. Then the last thing that happened was my dad bought a poster from RRC and had it delivered to our room, When we went and picked it up there was a free 5 buy 7 photo in the bag with the poster and it said free 5 buy 7 for magical moments. That was cool.

many things being handed out for the year of 1 million dreams thing. Many people had those "ultimate" fast passes at each of the parks (not us) and I even saw some individuals get special passes to dance/participate with the characters in their street shows (again not us).
I did however get Fastpasses for Thunder Railroad and gave them away to a family walking into the park. They were surprised and I hope they used them. We also had 1/2 case of bottled water left and my husband finally found a family willing to take it off our hands. We were going to have to dump it since we couldn't take it on the plane with us. Although no extra magic happened to our family, I was very happy to pass extra pixie dust to other families.

Well lets just say it was our first trip and definately not our last. We were the family of the day in MGM and chosen to start the Lights Motor action show. We were on the big screen and it was totally cool. I have pics to prove it. LOL The next day we were at Epcot and were chosen to be the family of the day in China and Japan. How cool was that. In China we started the show Expressions of china and were able to say Hello and thank you and bye in Chinese. SUPER COOL. In Japan we were just walking through and they told us we were chosen as their family of the day. My daughter was in HEAVEN both times as she loves Mulan and my husband loves all of the Japanese culture.
On our last day, We went to MGM. It was my mothers birthday, I had made those Foam crowns that I decorated for us all (girls) to wear for the day. Throughout the day we started giving them away to little girls in need of extra magic. We chose one little girl who had an older brother, one little girl who was scared in Little Mermaid, turned out it was her 3rd birthday that day. The last one was a little girl (7) walking with her grandma, they were pleasantly surprised and shocked, all of them. We loved it. When I was getting desparate looking for the perfect little girls a CM asked me if I was ok. I told her what I was doing, she was shocked and pleased and was eagerly looking for a Tinkerbell pin some kind of RAK type pin. She couldn't find one and said sorry. Didn't bother me any.

We went to WDW the week before the actual promotion started, but we sure felt the magic!!
We were chosen to be in the AK parade and got to ride on the float!
We were chosen to be the Soarin Family of the Day and got to ride the ride first without anyone else.
My sons received Magical Moment cards for playing games at rope drop with the CMs (Epcot) and for helping to shut down the Boneyard at AK.
Son was chosen to be in the Pirate Tutorial with Capt. Jack Sparrow
My son went to what he thought was a penny press machine and didn't understand it was a quarter machine, another guest gave him three quarters so that he could get the coin (I wasn't there but I just thought that was so awesome)
We tried to pass on the magic by giving away fastpasses to people who were about to go into the standby lines. That was fun.
We love Disney and will try and pass along the magic in our daily lives.

We just got back last night. :sad1:
We were at the Commissary in MGM for breakfast and were chosen to recive free juice and danish!
They rang a bell and made a big deal about it too, which was fun.
When we sat down to eat, a cast member came by and whispered that the color of the tray we received determined that we won. Ours was pink, all the other trays were black.

Was at WDW Oct 1 and 2. I had reserved a regular room with no requests since it would be an overnight stay and my husband would be with me to help if needed. When we arrived our room was not ready which was fine. I asked if the knew which bldg we would being and to my surprise it was Bldg #1 which is usually surcharged. When we finally got the room it was a handicapped room with a tub and grab bars on all sides. Just what I needed. And what a treat to bathe without needed my husband to get me in and out.

We had our own magical moment today. We were at MK (much busier than I exected btw) and we were looking at the Teacups. Ds(4) didn't want to ride so we walked to the other side just so he could see them and then he decided to ride. ;) So we walked back to the line and we were the last ones. A CM came over and asked us if we had an "Unbirthday" today. I being the Disney guru (LOL) said Of course! She walked us back over to the side and we were able to walk right on the ride before anyone else. She and the crowd sang Happy Unbirthday to our family and we got an 8x10 pic of Alice and the Mad Hatter. Very cool!
I also noticed something I'd never seen before. On 2 occasions, someone had spilled their drink/Dole Whip (YUM!) and the CM gave them a pass or went to get another one for them. :thumbsup2

I'm going for a 3rd time ( and that in itself is magical to my family) (Dec 31 - Jan 15th) we are staying in CS for 1 night, OKW for 7 nights and SS for 7 nights... It's the vacation of a lifetime and we are doing our own magic, celebrating my Daughter's birhtday at 1900 Park Fare for Breakfast, and then diner at CP... Swimming with Dolphins at Dicovery Cove for one day, and now trying to get the Illumination cruise to continue the celebration... We are happy to go there, and maybe even spred some pixie dust on deserving CM, God knows they surely deverse it ha! ha! Can't wait to be there.... Good luck to everyone going... :wizard: pixiedust: party:

October 5was our lucky day! We were at MGM that day and decided to ride Star Tours (we is me, DH and DS12 and DS11). After we boarded the car, we noticed three CMs with big black bags in our car and we were wondering what was going on. One of them announced that our whole car had been chosen as winners in the Year of Million Dreams and everyone received the YoAMD ears. We were absolutely thrilled.
Later the same day we're getting onto Great Movie Ride and we notice that they have only let in enough people to fill one car. Well, when we all get in our car, here comes the Dream Squad again and our whole car wins the special lanyard with the special pins!!! THEN, after the ride we go to buy a bucket of popcorn, and the CM gives it to us for free!!! We have never been so lucky in our whole lives!!!

I was in Disney Quest on Saturday (last week) and they pulled us out of the line, told us we were going to by-pass the line, they took a picture of us with hats that they provided and gave it to us for free. They told us that we were the first for that particular venue. They actually started it one day ahead of schedule...

I don't have any pics currently, but they are thick silver lanyards that have "Year of a Million Dreams" and "Where my dream came true" printed on them. It came with two pins. Each one said the same thing as the lanyard but one was with Mickey and Minnie, and the other one was with Donald and Goofy. At the bottom of the lanyard it has a light blue card.........says the same things on the front, and explains pin trading on the back. I was not with my husband when he got these, but he said that the CMs (3 of them) came up to him with little black bags. Take note, that neither my husband nor my boys had their own lanyards on at the time. Many CMs afterward told them NEVER to trade those pins, so I'm not sure how many are going to be given out.

The CM who gave me the Tink pins told me that a computer tells the CMs exactly where to go, and who to give the "free stuff" to, and that makes it completely random. They really are pretty sneaky about it.

Something else i forgot to mention. I went into the store right by cinderella's castle, the princess store and I was looking at the cm's pins and they had the yomd pins on her lanyard I really didnt know what they were at the time but I traded for one and my dad traded for the other. I wore mine on my lanyard for the rest of the trip and we ran into many people who asked if we won and I told them no then told them the whole story and they told us not to trade them that they are very special pins. So that was kinda cool.

Just got back and saw a lot of dreams given away. Nearly every other family had Dream Fast Passes (not us). I saw them given away in the Expedition Everest line and the Dumbo line. I saw at least 50 families around the park wearing them. On Thursday, Frontierland was closed from 8 to 11 in the morning so one family could have the whole land to themselves. I saw multiple Princesses granted "Princess of the Day" (really just a pronouncement from the ride CM and a piece of paper and a sticker, but kids liked it). The table next to us at Le Cellier was "Table of the Day". No free food as far as I could tell, but a fancy decorated table, a certificate, some stickers, and extra attention from the staff.
When we went to lunch at Roaring Forks one day (in WL), the CMs had a build your own cookie bar for free. The kids got a big Mickey shaped sugar cookie and could decorate it with sprinkles and such. DS was afraid of the CM though and wouldn't do it. :rotfl: Later, a CM at Mouse Gear at Epcot played mini golf with him for a while and gave him a little card saying something about him just experiencing a magical moment at Disney or something like that.
We also participated in the Family Fun Day parade on Main Street. We were on our way out of the park and off to the airport and a CM asked us if we wanted to be in the parade. We walked with Clarabelle and waved blue flags around. My son waved to the crowd like he was a celebrity. He really thought everyone showed up to see us off and wave good-bye. :thumbsup2

IMO - who needs another reason to go to Disney? Is hearing that you may win a dream FP or get a free treat really enough to spend a couple (or more) thousand dollars on a vacation?! Not picking on you specifically - but many folks on this thread chime in with negativism - and that cynical attitude is exactly why this YOAMD campaign is awesome. Like others have said - it becomes contageous. One person gets dream FP and can't use it all so they pass it on to another guest.
Don't know if anyone caught the Dateline on a couple of nights ago with the poor parents who lost the daughter in the Colorado school nut job shooting, but they've started a drive for increased random acts of kindness. It makes me feel horrible that I don't do more - especially since they're doing what they're doing in the face of such tragedy and I'm so blessed in so many ways.
So last thought - whether or not you are fortunate enough to get some dream 'swag' - spread some pixie dust during your trip. I think you'd be surprised at how good it can really feel to give.

I thought along the same lines as orljustin, that they are probably giving out tons of things here at the beginning and that it will slow down. I hadn' t thought of it as a tease to get people to come to WDW, but more as something to really look forward to, especially for those of us that have been many, many times. I think it would be wonderful if they keep it up all year long, and I hope I am wrong, but do think it will slow down some.
Everyone hopes and wishes and dreams of magical things happening at Disney World, and I really believe that this kind of event is just what Walt would have wanted.

IMHO, I dont think there is any negativity going on in this thread. People are not jealous or making it an excuse to go back to the World just for a prize - it is the fact that it is Disney. Everyone on this board enjoys Disney for all different reasons, if we go and have a good time on a vacation and receive a dream come true - so be it. What is the harm? I dont see the point in people complaining abot people WISHING to get a prize when they are at the world. If I was there and received something or didn't it would still be oh so magical.

I havent read all the posts in this thread but wanted to comment. We just got home last night (2am to be exact :surfweb: )
We had a "Magical" moment while in Animal Kingdom, a CM played a game with My DD and DS and received a certificate.
THEN on Saturday, our last day, we were all getting off of Peter Pan's Flight in MK and Three CM's with White vests on asked us to step aside. NOW let me tell you I was crossing all my fingers and toes for the LIFETIME Moment. We were given Dream Fast Passes for all the rides in the park that had Fast Pass lines. It was GREAT even tho it was our last day, it was a Magical ending to a great vacation.
Thanks Magical Dream Team! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

IMO - who needs another reason to go to Disney? Is hearing that you may win a dream FP or get a free treat really enough to spend a couple (or more) thousand dollars on a vacation?!
Sure it is. Look at all the people on the board who are constantly going on about how they want to go now. You don't think that'll translate into a few trips?

does anyone know the end date for the celebration? we are going for our first wdw trip christmas week, 2007. I like to plan ahead, and we are bringing my brother and sister in law (they will be 16 and 19) on this surprise trip for them...will also be their first trip. I am hoping some of the magic will still be there. How wonderful would it be for my dd's to have something great for their first trip.

The number of prizes given away will stay consistent throughout the year. Disney will follow these rules that have been set forth, otherwise, a huge scandal will happen (remember the McDonald's Monopoly fiasco a few years ago?).
From their website: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/index?name=YOMDRulesPage
3.WINNER SELECTION & VERIFICATION PROCESS
Each day of the Giveaway, numerous prizes will be awarded randomly (subject to a minimum of 1,551 prizes per day) (see prize details in the Appendix at the end of these Official Rules). Prizes may be awarded individually or in groups (for example, one hundred (100) DREAM FASTPASS badges or 100 Pin & Lanyard Set prizes may be awarded at a single time) (each such group referred to below as a "Batch"). Some prizes will be awarded at random on any day during the Giveaway Period (such as the Disney Vacation Club Memberships or the Disney Cruise Line trips) while other prizes are pre-determined by Sponsor to be given away either every day (such as DREAM FASTPASS badges) or on certain days
Here's a short list of some of the prizes. Think about how many they have to give away each day to add up to 95970 for the entire promotion - and that's just one park.
Ninety-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy (95,970) Magic Kingdom® Park DREAM FASTPASS prizes available: Each prize consists of: one (1) lanyard with one DREAM FASTPASS badge valid on the day prize is awarded that grants the winner one-time access to the FASTPASS return line at a time selected by the winner during that day's normal operating hours for each of the FASTPASS attractions in the Magic Kingdom® Park open on that day. DREAM FASTPASS is subject to terms and conditions as specified by Sponsor. ARV of each prize" US$5.00.

I guess we are rare, because, we gave up our seats on the bus on most rides. We were a family of 4 adults 3 kids, one almost 10 and a 9 yr old and a 6. the 6 and 9 regularly sat on laps, and the men typically stood. but there were always these certain family groups that there were like 5 kids 8 and under and they each had to have their own seats plus parents couldn't hold them on their laps. Talk about a shocker, pirate:
2 nights on the buses, my 6 yr old was asleep in my arms and no one offered to move for us, except a 3rd night an OLD lady(prob. 70+) offered her seat, I said no way please stay seated. I leaned back on the wall type thingy and held on to my child.
The bus seat situation was unreal with unwilling patrons to move. OH WELL, We let it go and it happens, nothing to ruin a trip over.

Our first was on our first day (Oct 1) at the MK. We had only been there a couple of hours when we stopped to get my DD a Mickey bar. DD loves to chit chat & struck up a conversation with the CM at the kiosk. After asking her about her favorite Disney movie, princess, etc., the CM said that since DD was such a nice Princess, she could have the Mickey bar & a special certificate to "remember the magic".
A couple of nights later, we want to the campfire singalong at Fort Wilderness. Things were just about to get started when a cast member approached us & said that they had noticed our girls & how much fun they were having, and wondered if we would like to go backstage for a private meet & greet with Chip & Dale as part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. We got an autographed picture, walked Chip & Dale down the aisle into the singalong area & were introduced on stage as guests of honor!
These surprises made our terrific vacation even more magical! :goodvibes

Don't keep us in suspense. What was your good deed? Did you post it upthread already?
I got a little shot of pixie dust on the way out of Anaheim's Downtown Disney parking lot. Everyone leaving at about 4:30 pm today got free parking! I don't know at what time they started or when it ended, but it saved me about $4. If I'd known, I'd have had that drink at the Grand Californian after all!

I am a regular in the contemporary arcade(kids love it too). All the CMs there know us. Since I know alot of the tricks of the ticketed games I get alot of tickets(over 50k now) so I give away thousands of tickets and have bought probably dozens of little girls and boys toys and stuffed animals and stuff. One of the CMs came up to me and gave me the dual pin set and said they all love seeing me spread the disney magic even though they said it was technically their jobs lol. If you ever see a 6'3 dorky looking guy with glasses and a massive pile of tickets in that arcade with an asian wife and 2 kids come up and say hello. We are there practically every weekend.

I just posted this separate because for some reason I didn't see this thread right under my nose! My daughter and I were on Tower of Terror and our whole group in the first elevator (during the pre-show) were given special YOAMD lanyards with two collector pins on each. It was so exciting. We spent the whole week hoping for the Dream Fastpasses but I guess we were never in the right spot at the right time. But we did see lots of people with Dream Fastpasses in each park. We had another magical moment when our daughter's were asked to be Princesses of the Hour and went in the Judge's Tent in ToonTown to see Cinderella, Belle, and Snow White with no wait. The line was about an hour long at that time and we hadn't seen Cinderella yet so we were pretty excited! Good luck to everyone with their dreams!

We just got back from an 8 day trip, and were there when the family from Ohio had the park to themselves-pretty sweet. Then the magic hit us, not once but twice. The first time it happened we were entering Mickey's Philharmagic, and my family of 5 made it into the main waiting area inside. A castmember pulled us aside and said that she was part of the Wishes team and that she was making us "the Guest Family Musicians for the day" at that attraction. They then gave us each an instrument to play, including my DD2 with her upside down 3-D glasses, and we got to serenade the audience for a few seconds (sorry for them). We got a certificate to memorialize the whole thing.
Then we were at Epcot eating at the Electric Umbrella, and a cast member came up to me and starting just small talking. She then said that she was going to serve our meal to us. She told us to go find a table, and she brought our meals to us from the counter. They brought a condiment basket, bottles of water for each of us, and toys for the kids. Pretty cool.
It may have been that we looked a little frazzled due to a cranky two year old, but nonetheless, perfect timing and great memories each time.

Hi everyone!!!
DH and I are here for our 4th wedding anniversary and we have been having a great time! We have seen members of the Dream team several times and we have seen a few people with Dream fastpasses. I kind of thought from reading these posts that we would see the fast passes everywhere but, there really haven't been that many. So anyone who has fears of longer lines as a result can rest assured that won't be a problem.
We had a magical moment tonight that I just had to share. DH and I were at MK for extra magic hours and we decided to go play some games in the arcade while the daytime guest were leaving. We went to exchange our Disney dollars for quarters and there was a woman at the desk talking to the CM. She seem to be having a problem that they couldn't help her with. The woman then turned to us and ask if we had ridden SM yet and asked if we would like to ride again. Her daughter, who was in a wheel chair, wanted to ride but she was not able to ride with her. She was looking for someone to ride with her. We told her that we would be happy to go with her. So we followed her to the wheelchair entrance and as we went we discovered that her daughter, RachelJoy, was her adopted daughter and it was just the two of them at WDW. RachelJoy is the "last surviving" of her several adopted children. RachelJoy is on a ventalator 8-10 hours a day and only has a few hours a day that she can get out to enJoy herself. She loves thrill rides and would stay on Space Mountain for hours at a time if they would allow it.
The wonderful CM's working allowed us to ride with her two times in a row. She giggled the entire ride both times! It was so wonderful to see her love it so much!
When we exited the ride we handed out Thank You cards that we had made to the CM's. We also gave one to RachelJoy and her mother because they really created some Magic that we never would have expected!
RachelJoy's mother gave us a thank you card as well that had a web address for RachelJoy!
As we were leaving SM we were stopped by a CM, she told us that it is also people like us help create the Disney Magic. She then presented us with a "no strings attached" certificate to turn into Star Traders for a free Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom plush set.
This whole event was the most touching event that could have happened to us. We will always have our mickey and minnie to remind us of this night.
I hope RachelJoy has many more thrilling rides on Space Mountain!

This is the most heartwarming thing I have read about YOAMD. The fact that all involved enjoyed a magical experience is what Disney and this promotion should be all about. Thanks for sending a bit of the magic my way and brightening my day.

It happened to my dad once and he declined. He is 55 but has white hair. So he asks me in French (we are french heheh) if he really does look that old. Little do we know that the people who offered are from Quebec too hehehe.
But I think that it is appolling (sp) that no one offered you their seat.
I always end up giving up mine even if I'm tired as a Cinderella mouse.

You are soo right on the rude CMs this trip. I was commenting on that with my wife. The gate rarely worked at pop century so we went to the guard section to flash our room card. We have always been told in the past it can be done. The guard looks at us and starts *****ing us out for not going through the key card gate and tells us next time to use that lane. ***. Also, during the halloween party(our 4th one we paid good money for) my wife and I decided to go without the kids because they were at the grandparents. At the very end in the snickers section we go to one tub and then to the 2nd tub just like we have the other 3 times and last year. some supervisor there says we cannot have anymore candy because they have 14 thousands other guests to serve that night. It is like 11:30 at night and the park is 95% empty and the tubs are overflowing with candy. Never happened with kids. I can see how couples with no kids can get snubbed and pissed off with disney. They are treated like second class citizens there.

We didn't get anything special for the YOMD promotion but our hotel did give us balloons and a card with a pic of Mickey and Minnie which was signed by Mickey and Minnie and a voice mail recording of Mickey, Minnie and Goofy singing Happy Anniversary to us. We had to celebrate our first anniversary 2 months early due to my promotion starting this month and I can't get the time off. We even got VMK cards w/o having to buy a hat or candy. It was really nice. We never have gotten anything before (not even when we were there on our honeymoon) so it made it really special.

First at the Plaza restaurant, we won an un-birthday party. Our waitress brought out a blue and pink cake and my kids got to blow out the candles for their un-birthday.
Then, my dd got to ride "Cinderella's Horse" on the merry-go-round. They made an announcement to the crowd, she was able to board the ride first and go straight to Cinderella's horse.
Finally, at Port Orleans Riverside, my kids were Jr. Chef's, got to wear Chef aprons, decorate cookies with icing and sprinkles, received a certificate and pin.
It was so cool!

Just got back form our trip. We had a BLAST! We had several "pixie" moments.
We were the first in line for Dinosaur at AK and we got the entire car to ourselves with a certificate saying we were the first family of the day. That day we celebrated Ryan's B-Day and he got a card from WCC signed by the CM's. We also hopped over to MGM after AK and Ry wanted to ride Star Tours (again). He wanted to go it alone so I waited by the exit. He walked on 2 x then the 3rd he didn't come off. I go searching in the gift shop and he is with a CM. All of the CM's for ST signed a b-day card, they let him have the entire ride to himself and he rode it 4 times in a row, he got a certificate making him an honorary Jedi and a light saber! Also at Le Cellier we were the "table of the day." They decorated it with confetti, and crowns, etc. It was a lot of fun!

I just got back from a week at WDW and received two dreams. On Monday, October 2nd, my friends and I were getting on the Buzz Lightyear ride at the Magic Kingdom when we got stopped and were presented with Dream Fastpasses for the day. Later in the week at the Animal Kingdom, I went to Rafiki's Plant Watch to get a picture with Jiminy Cricket while the rest of my group went to Expedition Everest. As I was walking into the building at Rafiki's Planet Watch, someone from the Dream Team stopped me and I received another Dream Fastpass for the day. Pretty exciting!!!!

On Monday we visited the Magic Kingdom and upon entering the magic carpet ride we were presented with magic fast passes, which was really neat, we were so thankful for them, then on Thursday we were in line at Animal Kingdom for Expedition Everest and again were give magic fast passes for Animal Kingdom which was nice. I must also say that we stayed at Boardwalk Inn and upon checkout we had 98.00 in phone charges billed to our room which was not ours and it took quite awhile till it was tracked down, the calls originated from a 2nd floor room and we were in a 4th floor room. They were not real fast to remove them until the problem was tracked down and I was not a happy camper, then when the problem was found all that was said is we are very sorry. It took almost an hour of standing at the front desk and being very upset for them to really look at the problem and see that they were not ours. I think some better customer service is needed when a problem like this arises. I told her my family has a policy and it is honesty, we all had cell phones and if we had made the calls we would pay for them. Hopefully this doesn't happen too often, very stressful to the person who did not use the phone.

This is killin' me!!!

My daughter was given a free popcorn tub (the plastic bucket kind with a lid) at MGM. We were buying drinks and the CM just said "Do you like popcorn? I think you need some popcorn!" and scooped it up for her. She was thrilled!! Little things can make a difference.

Just got back :guilty:
But what an awesome trip :thumbsup2
Two things:
A CM came up to DD ToriGirl and handed her two pins - one for her and one to share. They were of Tinkerbell. CM mentioned something about a dream (that's what my daughter said, she couldn't remember everything) so I'm guessing it was a little part of the Million Dreams promotion :goodvibes
Then on Saturday, the park (MK) was PACKED...Me and my husband had DD's and our neice and nephew. There were six of us. A crowd of people, three couples from Connecticut started saying to us, Are you a party of 6? Party of 6? I still had that stupid look on my face because we're usually a party of four, but I forgot we're 6 because of neice and nephew...My husband said Yes and they all, at one time, started telling us that we can have their Dream Fast Passes!
They were standing on line at the HM and when they got inside a CM pulled them into another room and surprised them, told them it was a Year of a Million Dreams and presented them each with a Dream Fast Pass. Like I said, it was three couples, maybe in their late 40's with no kids in tow. There were 8 tags on the Dream Pass and they had used three - Not sure what the other three were, but we went on Jungle Cruise, SplashMtn, BTM, Pooh & Stitch. I'm guessing the other three were for Space Mountain, Pirates and I don't know what else...
But they were leaving the park and they wanted someone else to take advantage of it, so they presented us with them!!!
It was wonderful because the park was so packed that day and we were able to bypass the hour and a half lines!
The only thing that was requested was that I mail one of them back to her so she could have it as a souvenier.
My husband only saw one other group with them on that day, and everyone was asking about them.
One lady said to my husband, Oh, I could have gotten them too, but they were all sold out. My DH said, you can't buy these, they choose you and give them to you for free. Lady said, Oh, No, I had a chance to buy them.
My husband just said, whatever. :rolleyes1
This weekend I'll take a look at everyone's wonderful stories :)

I actually took the time to read all the threads! They are truly great. We had some great pixie dust spread our way last year. Unfortunately I was sick on my first day at WDW with a fever and a stomach thing. The next day my DH took my 2 DS to MK. A very nice man gave DS1 (who was 4 at the time) Tom Sawyer's paint brush after he heard him say, "I wish mommy wasn't sick to see us having fun!" My son was so happy, he hugged the man then politely asked, "What do I need to paint?" My DH laughed and all was explained to them. I wish I could have seen it all. He chose Splash mountain which is one of his favorite rides. After my fever came down, I was able to hear all about it when I later joined my family.
Even during non YOAMD year(I think I got the acronym right, but you know what I mean), you can be sprinkled with Pixie Dust.
I intend on being a Fairy Godmother while I'm down there in Dec. to spread my own pixie dust. pixiedust: :rainbow:

Our first Disney trip was so magical. There were 15 people in our group...10 adults and 5 kids. We were able to get the first reservation for Crystal Palace before the park opened. We walked in and the CMs took my then 5 year old daughter and gave her a cake to decorate. All of the Winnie the Pooh characters, CMs, and Chef stood around her while she decorated. Then, she got a chef hat signed by all of them and a certificate. Then Our whole party got a picture together with all of the characters. Tigger even layed on the floor in front of us. It's an awesome picture! That same day we were standing in line for Pirates and a man in line looked at my daughter and asked if she wanted the Mickey doll he was carrying. He just gave it to her. She still sleeps with it and she's 11. To this day she thinks she's the 'Chosen One'...meaning, she thinks she's very special, which of course she is. Also, on that trip, we were waiting for a parade to start and one of the CMs recognized my husband from when he was in Ireland (my husband is hard to forget...6'8"). He took my 2 oldest children and had them dance in the parade. This is why we go back to Disneyworld so often. My parents have more time share points than God and we could go anywhere, but we always go back to Florida. Every single trip has been amazing. I'm the oldest of 7 kids, my 2 sisters each have 3 kids, and I have 5 kids, so our group is always large. Plan A doesn't always work, but with Disney, plan B-Z is just as amazing. We just made our Disney chain and we have 28 days left. Everytime I pass the chain on the wall, I get butterflies. Who else but Disney has that effect on people!

My daughter received the Tink pins, one to keep and one to give away to another guest. A guest who had received those pins gave MJ the one she'd been given to give away, very magical! She's also been given a button that says Honorary Citizen of Walt Disney World. We've alo had the joy of watching a lot of other people get Dreams! It's awesome!
Edit: I forgot, she also got a free picture from her ride on Bzz Lightyear.

I haven't read the whole thread but so it may have been mentioned before, but I was at AK on 10/1 and they gave away Year of A Million Dreams Mickey ears. I was in line for the tilt-a-whirl thing and they made an announcement that becasue of the the birthday celebration we would all be receiving free ears. It was awesome!

Yes!! We did! at least I think it's a granted wish!! We took a sea racer out on our annivaersary. when we came back to pay the $25... the CM said... "no charge... happy annivarsary" Now I know it was only 25 bucks... but I was so touched I had to quickly say thank-you and walk away b/c I started to cry! We were also given so much little x-tra touches along the way... I can't even think of them all! I love the Disney Magic!!!

My family and I went to MGM on Friday night instead of going to dinner and a movie. We were approached by a cast member as we entered the park and asked if we were planning on riding RNR or TOT. When we answered yes he said we could be the Family of the Hour. He took us into guest relations where we got a Magical Moments certificate and coupons for free icecream and free popcorn and drink to use at Fantasmic for all 5 of us. Then he took us to RNR and we went to the front of the line using the back entrance. The best part of the whole thing was just talking to CM "Stevens". He is a true Disney spirit. He even rode the ride sitting next to me, so of course I bought the pic.
Stevens was great! I dealt with him in the reservation booth last thursday and he was so polite and helpful. I know he was doing his job, but not all are that polite and courteous.

I haven't read all of the posts, so I might be repeating, but here's our experience. We had gotten FASTPASSES to ride Soarin on 10/01/06. As we were standing in the line watching the pre-boarding video, a couple of girls in light blue shirts and gray vests stepped up and told us to start putting our hands together....so we did. They then proceeded to tell us that we were the very first recipients of Epcot's Dream FASTPASSES. How exciting!!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Later in our vacation, we spent about 30 minutes speaking with a castmember about the whole "Dream" process. It's going to be a great year for the Disney dreammakers.

The second one was April 2005 at Disneyland, it was our last day there before driving out to Vegas and we were all sad to be leaving. We'd saved the Aladdin show for last and were running (with two strollers) to get in line. A CM showed up with a magic lamp and asked DD#1 and DS if they wanted to make a wish on the lamp. They did and wished for good seats for the show, the CM told them to follow her and she'd see what she could do. We were taken to the VIP holding area and were allowed in several minutes before everyone else to find our perfect seats. We were front row center :woohoo: it was amazing!! DD#2 clapped and bounced through the whole show (she was 10 months old) and the other two were just glowing they were so excited and happy. The whole thing was topped off by Aladdin waving to the kids - DD#1 is still talking about it. :goodvibes
We had a lovely CM at DLP give us an employee discount on tickets on our last trip too since most of us were getting APs and DD had a normal ticket he gave us a discount, he made our morning!

We were there sept.27th through oct.3rd and we had a few magical things happen to us. first we got to ride in the front of the monorail. our driver was really nice and let my two DSs push the buttons to close the doors on our two stops. one at the magic kingdom and the other at the cont. resort, also on our first park day we went to Animal Kingdom. one of the CM in dinoland traded pins with my youngest son.(his first time trading) he got a magical moments card and has since become a pin trading junkie. :rotfl: he wouldve rather been pin trading than riding rides sometimes. We also tried to spread a little bit of Pixie Dust. while we were on the bus my father and husband gave up their seats for other people to sit. my youngest asked why daddy and dad-dad were going to stand and I told him that a gentelman always gives up his seat. I asked him if he wanted to sit on my lap and give up his seat for someone else who was standing, and he did. the lady that sat next to him thanked him and called him a gentelman (wich he loved). also during the sept 29th MNSSHP it was getting really close to the time for the parade we brought my two young cousins with us who are 9 and 6 as well as my mother and father and ofcourse two sons. well the kids started getting hungry before the parade so we went down to frontier land and found a great spot. left the kids with my parents and DH and I started out looking for some food. we thought about pecos bills but they had a line and we didnt really know how long they would take, we didnt want to miss the headless horseman. we (by accident) walked past the turkey leg stand and found the popcorn stand. we bought three buckets of popcorn. one for each set of kids and one for the adults to share, we also bought drinks. When we made it back to our spot a family is sitting there and the kids kept saying that they wanted some popcorn. the father kept telling them that mommy has gone to get some food for them he just hopes she makes it back in time for the parade before the street gets closed off. my husband showed a random act of kindness and gave the family one of our popcorn buckets. the father looked at us like he couldnt believe that we were being so nice to them and offered to pay us, but we didnt take any money from him, just wanted to spread a little magic of our own :goodvibes and it made me proud to be married to my husband

My wife and I were at the World from Sept 29-Oct 5. We got an actual Magical Moment on our last day, with a certificate. On our last day we went to MGM, and I wanted Pizza Planet (I love that place) for lunch. We got there 30 minutes before they opened. A CM came up to us and asked my wife if she wanted to play as many video games as she wanted until Pizza Planet opened. This lady followed us around for about 25 minutes turning video games on untill 11am. It was a great experience and a nice way to cap off our trip. :wizard:
The cerificate was framed as soon as we got home and now lives on her desk at work.

It is so true that the "Pay it Forward" attitude is alive and well at WDW right now. The day that our family was given the dream FASTPASSES, we felt so lucky to have been chosen. We noticed a family talking about not being able to afford to rent a stroller. I heard the mom say that they just didn't have the extra money for it. I talked with my kids, and they agreed that this family needed a "Dream". Without letting them know that we had overheard their conversation, we asked them if they would like to have our stroller. They were completely overwhelmed by the random act of kindess. It was the best. Just think.....the Dream Team gets to do this every day!!!!!

We were there last week and were in line for It's a Small World. At the top of the line, there was a member of the dream squad standing there saying hi to everyone. When we got to him he asked if we wanted to be the cruise directors for ISW. We said yes...my girls got to take turns standing in the booth that overlooks and runs the boats and wave to everyone. They announced our family and said that we were helping celebrate a year of a million dreams. We got a certificate that says we were cruise directors.
It was really neat :goodvibes

This didn't happen to you late Saturday evening did it? As we were getting off Small World, we saw a couple of little girls up in the booth. One of them was on the phone with the castmember on the platform. It was lightning outside, and we thought Small World would be a good place to go in case it started raining. Was it you that we saw??????

I am so hooked on reading this thread! I have to do it on the sly because the whole trip I am planning is a surprise. I am bursting to tell my kids about the YOAMD! The funny thing is, Once they do know about the trip - I may not tell them about YOAMD because I do not want them to expect something. I have to admit I am fantasizing about winning dream fastpasses, a night in the castle, DVC membership..... but in reality it is a dream just to be going on the trip! If someone wants to keep track of a certain thread they can subscribe to it. You can subscribe to it by posting to it, which some still do, but it isn't necessary anymore but some people still don't realize that. All you have to do is click on "thread tools' and then choose 'subscribe to thread'. It's that simple!
When you subscribe, you can get notified when someone posts something new to that thread by an email notification. I prefer just subscribing to threads I'm interested in (via thread tools) and then checking to see if anyone posted to my threads by just going to my User CP rather and see them all listed together, rather then getting email notifications all the time.

We were in the MK last week and while sitting on a bench in Tommorow Land my wife and 4 year old daughter was approached by a cast member, Pat, who introduced herself as a member of the Wishes Team. She opened up her backpack and offered my daughter several coloring pages as well as a pack of crayons for my daughter to color with as they waited for my oldest daughter and I to finish Space Mountain. Pat talked with my wife for easily 5 minutes about all the aspects of the Wishes program and when I arrived she introduced herself to me and my daughter. I noticed her name tag was different and had her hometown, Ashland, KY on it. After I commented, she informed us that this would be the new nametag beginning October 1 but the Wishes Teams were wearing them now. She was extremely nice and open about the program and said that the Teams primary duty would be just talking to guests and granting small favors all day long. Things like free snacks from the stands, fast passes to those in the standby line and other little things like that. She also mentioned that they are discussing a Noon time parade along with the afternoon parade. When asked about the infamous night in the castle she said the details were still secret on how that would be handled but she was really excited about just seeing the room. Before she left, she took out a autograph book and asked my daughters to sign it. That made their day!
Later in the week, we were at the hat shop at the front of Main Street which does the names on the hats. They do charge $2.00 per name now, which they didn't charge for last year. We witnessed a Magic Moment when they gave a lady with three hats the names for free. I noticed that the cast member had a white notebook on the counter that had Magic Moments Wishes on the from which she used as a log of the free names.
Anyway, our families time with Pat was very neat we will remember it for years to come.
What a dream job that would be!!! :cloud9: 'Walking around Disney all day doing good deeds!! I wanna play . Heck that would be more fun than receiving the gifts in my opinion.

:goodvibes
We had a lovely CM at DLP give us an employee discount on tickets on our last trip too since most of us were getting APs and DD had a normal ticket he gave us a discount, he made our morning!

wow...WOW is all i can say, to have the 4 disney princesses with your two princesses all in one picture? wow! i love all the kisses on the baby. what a wonderful memory!
I had myself a little moment pulling up those pictures, it was an amazing experience. :lovestruc And the two trips that followed were just as magical. That little baby is now 2 and the most vocal of the three about going back to see HER Mickey like now! It's gone by so fast!
The next four months are going to go by slow now, I just know it!

Well we just got back from our 9 day trip and we had a few special things happen. Some of them were just pixie dust things and not actual wishes they are giving but I will share them all none the less. :goodvibes
The first thing happened on our 3rd night. We were on our way out of MGM and at the bus stop I saw a cm with a lanyard and I stopped to look and saw a dumbo hat pin I loved and he said, ya know what it is a year of a million dreams..here ya go. Then he looked over at the cm he was standing with and said..look I just made her dreams come true.. :rotfl: It was so nice and funny!
Then twice my 3 year old got bus pins when he went crazy over them on cm's lanyards.
We stopped in at Cosmic Rays one day and were just getting a large coke to share as we were thirsty. As I was waiting for it 2 dream team members came by and introduced themselves and asked how many were in our party and said we were chosen to be family of the hour and to let them take ourfood to our table..lol Well when the drink came out they kinda laughed..I said yeah big purchase huh. They still took it though and took us to our table which was set up with a tablecloth and a sign and streamers and such. We got a card signed and a megic moment certificate. It was a cute moment even if we were just having a coke.lol
One night at MK I traded pins with a cm and then after i commented to dh twice about liking another in she had on her lanyard. A few mins later she says to me..say trick or treat..so I did and she handed me the pin. It was very sweet!
Then while walking around dtd a dvc cm had me put my hand onder the table and he acted like he dropped a pin and said oh where could my pin be..oh well..lol He gave it to me. It was funny. He then told me how I should be proud of my red hair and freckles b/c his wife had them too and they were beautiful. I had to laugh at that since I have always hated them on myeslf. It was quite nice of him and made me feel good.
At the Poly we were talking to a cm and looking at his pins. He had a beast pin we liked and we had a cogsworth we just got but were going to trade him for the beast and he just handed it to me and said here ya go keep the theme going. He was so nice!
At dinner at Le Cellier hubby was given a birthday card signed by all the cm's there. That was really nice. It was also for our anniversary.
At CP we got a magical moment cert and hubby a b-day card for our anniversaryand his b-day.
After check in at POR we got a laminated card signed by minnie and mickey for our aniversary.
So we ended up with some really great moments. It was so enjoyable. I love all the sweet cm's. :goodvibes

My DH :artist: is a muralist and his specialty is clouds, he paints amazing clouds...so he really, really wants those cloud mouse ears! I am keeping my fingers crossed!
I hope on our trip in 2 weeks I get to see some of this magic....my job had this contest where all the employees received gift cards. They were worth $10, $15, $25, $50, $100 and one was worth $500. I was in charge of telling the associates what their card was worth after they randomly picked one out of a box. I SWEAR that the nasty, negative people who said "I am only gonna get $10" WOULD. The positive people who were like "Oh, whatever I get will be great!" would win the bigger value cards. I was soooo excited when this older associate who is raising his grandkids won the $500...by the time he pulled his card, I had memorized the number of the winning card, so I knew right when he pulled it he won. So I faked it out and looked at his card and then at him and he said "Ten dollars is still great!" and I yelled out, "You won $500!" Everyone was cheering, he was crying...so I know how these Dream Squad people feel.
What a great way to spend your day!
I cannot wait to see some of this on our trip....plus I still hope DH :artist: gets his mouse ears! A girl can dream, right????

We just got back last week, the second day of the promotion (that I didn't even know about, although my mom did tell me the day before) we got off Spaceship Earth and there were to CM's handing something out to everyone. We just took them and I read it after exiting. They were dream fastpasses for Epcot! They were really nice and we ended up using most of them, they are made so you cannot give some of the fast passes away so we couldn't share the ones we didn't use.
Then later that week, again at Epcot, we got fastpasses for Test Track and out came fast passes for Mission Space for right then. My husband went but since my 3 year old isn't tall enough for it I ended up giving the other two away. They were both nice surprises.
We saw alot of the "dreams" being things they normally did in the shows, etc, but made it out to be a dream, ie at MGM Stunt Car Show, the remote control car that a kid drives, they made that out to be a dream, but have always done it.
I do think it is wonderful, whether they have always done it or not! And it does help promote spreading kindness. I think disney at the end of the day is a place where kindness needs to be spread too! My husband and I always take notice of others and be sure to try and not be short tempered, etc at the end of the day.
Hopefully as other posters have said, the kindness will spread throughout the country.

This is the best thread!!!
When I go on my trip in late November, I'll keep a watchful eye out for magical things!
This thread has inspired me to do kind things for others. I bought glow sticks at Wal Mart for $4.88 per pack like some others suggested.
I'm so excited and this YOAMD has got me even more excited if that's even possible!

Disney is the greatest for giving small things that will last a liftime of memories with or without the year of a million dreams.
Our 2005 vacation we stayed at OKW. We had another family come up to stay with us. The dad of the visting family likes to jog every morning at the crack of dawn. As he was running he was called over by a cast member who worked the golf courses and asked him if he'd be interested in choosing which golf hole the flag would set in (they rotate them day to day). Meanwhile they were just making casual conversation (name, what room he was in etc.). Later that day the cast member had a certificate made out to him with his name and everything on it for choosing the golf hole delivered to our room with a certificate for dinner for him and his family. Did I mention that he and my husband are BIG golfers too! Could you imagine the excitement! He still has it posted in his house. It's a memory Disney made that we'll never forget.
Were suppose to go back this May. Everytime I go back they always top the last vacation.

These stories are all incredible! My wife and I have only been once so far and our second trip is planned for this upcoming May but we're a mix of emotions. We're super-duper excited to be going again but at the same time we're sad because we know that it'll be our last trip for a while. See, right now we don't have any kids and we're renting a little apartment but our goal is to purchase a house next year sometime and start having kids. We were talking about it and we figured that we wouldn't be back to WDW for about 5 years (at the earliest). It would be really nice if we won something or even if we saw something get won!
BTW I'm a huge fan of the random acts of kindness! I take the train to work everyday so I'm used to standing therefore I'll be giving up my seat everytime we're on a bus during this next trip. I've also decided that if we somehow get these DreamPasses I'll either nicely decline them or we'll give ours away. May isn't that busy of a month and we're really flexible people.
Take care!

Is the dream fast pass good for ONE time per each ride or as many trips to all rides as you can fit in a day?

Speaking of random acts of kindness......I went to Dollar Tree and they had glow stick necklaces 15 for a dollar so I bought a bunch so I can pass them out!!

Hello everyone! We just got back from DW on Sunday and it was the most magical trip ever! We were picked to be the first family on Soarin for the Year of a Million Dreams kick off! Our flight attendant Steve approached my daughter when we arrived to ride Soarin in the morning. He was following her and just started talking to her and asking questions. He then told us he would like us to be the first family! We got to enter through the VIP area and they announced us to everyone as we came in. It was our first time on the ride and we got to be front and center with Steve. He was so sweet to my DD! People applauded us and they announced we were first class passengers. It was so funny! At the end we got a magical moments certificate. It's something we'll never forget!
During the week my DD also got about 6 free pins, sodas and snacks from various CMS throughout Disney. It was great!
I forgot to add a funny magical moment from Disney Studios. It was early in the morning and my DD wanted a drink from a cart near the hat. The CM asked her if she would like to be the official announcer of the opening of her snack cart for the day. She had her announce over the loud speakers at Disney Studios, "The churros cart is now open and ready for business!". It was so cute! That's when she got some of the magical free sodas for the week. She also got a magical moments certificate for finding the key at Muppets. They are really spreading the pixie dust for this celebration. Good luck to you all! :wizard:

That is so true! On our 2004 10-night X-mas cruise (DCL, of course), we were at the guest services desk one morning with a question when my son lost a tooth (he's been wiggling it like crazy the whole cruise LOL). We asked for an envelope to put the tooth in, to keep it nice and safe for the tooth fairy. They asked if he was bleeding and needed any help (he wasn't and didn't) and gave us an envelope for the tooth. Then we went on our merry way. That night, we came back to our stateroom after dinner and on his pillow there was a Magical Moments certificate and kids binoculars that he's been eyeing the whole trip in the store. The look on his face was priceless! It actually made me cry -- it was such a sweet gesture and completely unexpected...That's why I love Disney so much. I still get emotional thinking about the way his face just LIT UP when he saw the binoculars...

:offtopic: I hope you all don't mind a little side track.
If you don't mind a little advice...my husband and I are on the other end...my son is 17 and preparing for college. So we are just getting to a point that we can afford a trip every other year or so. One thing that helped us, during those lean years, was putting all of our change in a bucket. You will be amazed at how quickly it adds up. The hard part is not dipping into the funds. When you are ready to take a trip to the world, you will find the extra spending money a huge plus. :teeth:
Good luck with the house and the family. (By the way...I think 4 or 5 is a terrific age for kids to be introduced to the world...I envy you that experience)

I was at Magic Kingdom today and was in line to see Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. A little girl in front of us dripped her popsicle all over her dress. Her mother had nothing to use to wipe it up. My aunt gave her some napkins. A Dream Squad member saw her helping and gave her two Tinkerbell pins. One for her and one to give to somebody she saw helping.
